Study objectives are: 1) to investigate the difference in consumer perceptions of the model's image and physical attractiveness according to advertising model types; 2) to explore the effect of the difference between the model's image and the consumer's self image, the difference between the model's image and the brand's image, and the physical attractiveness of the model on attitude toward the advertising model; and 3) to explore the effect of attitude toward the advertising model on attitude toward the advertisement. A total of 306 female consumers over the age of 45 participated in experiments with advertisement stimuli for a senior apparel brand. Results showed a significant difference in the model's images and physical attractiveness according to each model type. The consumer's attitude toward the advertising model was determined by physical attractiveness of the model, not by the difference between model's image and the consumers' self-image, nor by the difference between the model's image and brand image. Attitude toward advertisements was determined by attitude toward the advertising model. The findings imply that advertising models of a senior apparel brand can be selected based on the physical attractiveness of the model. Consumers do not consider whether the model's image fits well with their self-images or the brand's image when building an attitude toward the advertising model, and this precedes the consumer's attitude toward the advertisement. These results can be used as guidelines to select appropriate models for advertisements of senior apparel brands.
Purpose: This study analyzed changes in spinal neuron and action potential of motor unit depending on voluntary contraction on spinal neuron adaptation. Methods: It selected 80 university students in their twenties and divided into experimental groups of 25% MVIC (I), 50% MVIC (II), 75% MVIC (III) and 100% MVIC (IV) depending on maximum voluntary isometric contraction (MVIC) and performed isometric exercise of plantar flexor muscle to each experimental group with given contraction for 20 times. It measured Mmax, H/Mmax, Hmax latency, V/Mmax, V wave latency before and after exercise, compared method and volume of contraction. Results: H/Mmax ratio showed significant difference in comparison among groups (p<0.01) and there was difference in I and IV groups. V/Mmax ratio showed significant difference in comparison among experimental groups (p<0.05) and there was difference in I and IV groups. When voluntary contraction level was maximum, changes were greatest. However, no significantly difference was to Mmax, H latency and V wave latency. Conclusion: These results suggest that amplitude changes of voluntary contraction level, spinal neuron and supra-spinal neuron had a dose connection that the more contraction level, the better central activation seem to decrease highly for a short time.

Objective: The aim of this study was to measure the muscle architectural parameters of abdominal muscles in healthy individuals by rehabilitative ultrasound imaging (RUSI) and to investigate their changes after bridging exercise in various environments. Design: Cross-sectional study. Methods: The study included 40 healthy participants (19 men, 21 women). Subjects were randomly allocated to a stable surface group (SG, n=20) or an unstable surface group (UG, n=20). The participants assumed three positions in rest, bridging exercise with knee flexion $60^{\circ}$, and bridging exercise with knee flexion $90^{\circ}$ for the measurement of abdominal muscle thickness by RUSI. For the resting position, the participants held the head neutral in a hook-lying position and the dominant side was measured. For contraction, the participants performed the bridging exercise with the knee joint in $60^{\circ}$ and $90^{\circ}$ of flexion for 10 seconds each. Results: For transversus abdominis, external oblique muscle thickness, within the stable surface group and the unstable surface group, no significant contraction difference was observed in both the $60^{\circ}$ and $90^{\circ}$ bridge exercise conditions. Contraction difference of internal oblique muscle was significantly larger at $90^{\circ}$ than at $60^{\circ}$ within the SG (p<0.05). But within the UG, no significant contraction difference was shown. There was no significant contraction difference between the surface group and the unstable SG at $60^{\circ}$ condition and at $90^{\circ}$ condition in all measured muscles. Conclusions: The contraction difference is different for each muscle during bridge exercise with knee flexion $60^{\circ}$ and bridging exercise with knee flexion $90^{\circ}$. Muscle contraction difference is generally large when exercised on an unstable surface than a stable surface, but these are not statistically significant when bridging exercise is performed using dynamic air cushion for unstable surface.
Purpose : This study aims to provide fundamental information for increasing a physical therapist's empowerment and suggesting effective ways to incorporate humor into the physical therapist's organizations by investigating a level of perceived sense of humor and empowerment, as well as examining the relationship between them. Objective: There are many cases of applying various taping methods to prevent muscle damage and to assist with movement. The purpose of this study was to investigate and to compare the effects of dynamic taping on joint position sense and to find out the difference in error values during various degrees of shoulder flexion. Design: Cross-sectional study. Methods: A total of 20 subjects participated in this study with a randomized cross-over design. The order of taping was adjusted by randomly proceeding with dynamic taping, sham taping, and no taping. After the taping, the proprioception of the shoulder joint was evaluated. The evaluation of proprioceptive sensation was performed by evaluating joint position sensation. The sequence was adjusted by randomly performing joint position tests at each shoulder flexion of 50, 90, and 110 degrees. All angles were repeated 3 times. Results: There was a significant difference between dynamic taping and no taping in 50 degrees of shoulder flexion. There was a significant difference between sham taping and no taping in 90 degrees of shoulder flexion (p<0.05). No significant difference was found in 110 degrees of shoulder flexion. Conclusions: In this study, it was confirmed that dynamic taping is effective in improving the joint position sense in 50 degrees of shoulder flexion. In the future, it is expected that further studies will be conducted on patients with shoulder dysfunction with decreased proprioception.
PURPOSE: This study examined the effects of the low dye taping technique on the static and dynamic balancing ability and navicular bone drop when the low dye taping technique was divided into elastic and non-elastic taping. METHODS: The subjects of the study were 31 volunteers without musculoskeletal disorders. The length (L) and anterior (A), posteromedial, and posterolateral values of the arch in the NO (normal eyes open), NC (normal eyes closed), PO (pillow with eyes open), and PC (pillow with close eyes closed) states were evaluated when barefoot and when Kinesio tape and non-elastic tape were applied. The measurements were analyzed using repeated ANOVA and an independent t-test. Post hoc tests were performed using a Fisher's LSD. RESULTS: A significant difference was found in the arch L and A values using a foot scanner (p < .05). In addition, there was a significant difference in dynamic balance in the three directions (p < .05), and no difference was found in the case of static balance. As a result, non-elastic tape application helps improve the dynamic balance ability and arch of the foot. CONCLUSION: The non-elastic tape technique is helpful for the foot arch function, and there is no difference in the static balance ability between Kinesio tape and non-elastic tape. Nevertheless, non-elastic tape is more helpful for the dynamic balance ability than Kinesio taping.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of Inline-skating exercise on the static balance. Total 10 subjects with common were recruited from university for student in Kwangyang, and the Inline-skating exercise was conducted 3times at a week during 2 weeks. Balance test was measured by using Good Balance with overall index, NSEO(normal standing when eye open), NSEC(normal standing when eye close), OLREO(one leg right standing when eye open), OLREC(one leg right standing when eye close), OLLEO(one leg left standing when eye open), OLLEC(one leg left standing There was statistically significant difference of the balance ability of the left-right only between the before and the after exercise in the case of NSEO position. however, the statistically difference was not found in terms of the Mean X speed, Mean Y speed, Velocity moment between the before and the after exercise in the case of NSEC position. There was statistically significant difference of the balance ability of the Mean X speed, Mean Y speed between the before and the after exercise in the case of OLLEO and OLLEC position, however, the statistically difference was not found in terms of the Velocity moment between the before and the after exercise in this case. There was statistically significant difference of the balance ability of all the terms between the before and the after exercise in the case of OLREO. however, the statistically difference was not found in terms of the Mean Y speed only between the before and the after exercise in the case of OLREC. In this case, the statistically difference was found in terms of Velocity moment between the before and the after exercise. This study showed that Inline-skating exercise was effected on the improvement of the balance ability in normal peoples.
The purpose of this study was to reduce the spasticity of plantarflexion. the subjects of this study were 30 hemiplegic patients with stroke who received of physical therapy in JinJu o o hospital from May to July 2000. the subjects were divided into three groups(FES groups 10, FES + tilt table-wedge board standing groups 10, & tilt table-wedge board standing groups 10). The result were as follow 1. FES therapy was a effective method to reduce the spasticity of plantarflexor. there was a significant difference in modified Ashworth scale(p<.01). there was a significant difference in weight bearing ratio between nonparetic and paretic side(p<.01). 2. Tilt table-wedge board standing therapy was a effective method to reduce the spasticity of plantarflexor to a degree but there was a no significant difference in modified Ashworth scale(p<.05). there was a significant difference in weight bearing ratio between nonparetic and paretic side(p<.01). 3. Tilt table-wedge board standing therapy + FES therapy was a effective method to reduce the spasticity of plantarflexor. there was a significant difference in modified Ashworth scale(p<.01). there was a significant difference in weight bearing ratio between nonparetic and paretic side(p<.01) 4. There was a significant difference in weight bearing ratio between nonparetic and paretic side according to the grade spasticity(p<.01). 5. For normal persons vs hemiplegic patients, there was a significant different in weight bearing ratio between nonparetic and paretic side(experimental subjects 1 p<.01, experimental subjects 2 p<.01, control subjects p<.05).
