A photovoltaic power conditioning system (PV PCS) that contains single-phase dc/ac inverters tends to draw an ac ripple current at twice the output frequency. Such a ripple current perturbs the operating points of solar cells continuously and it may reduce the efficiency of the current based maximum power point tracking technique (CMPPT). In this paper, the ripple current generation in a dc link and boost inductor is analyzed using the ac equivalent circuit of a dc/dc boost converter. A new feed-forward ripple current compensation method to incorporate a current control loop into a dc/dc converter for ripple reduction is proposed. The proposed feed-forward compensation method is verified by simulation and experimental results. These results show a 41.8 % reduction in the peak-to peak ac ripple. In addition, the dc/ac inverter control system uses an automatic voltage regulation (AVR) function to mitigate the ac ripple voltage effect in the dc link. A 3kW PV PCS prototype has been built and its experimental results are given to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method.
Islanding phenomenon of photovoltaic system is undesirable because it leads to a safety hazard to utility service personnel and may cause damage to power generation and power supply facilities as a result of unsynchronized re-closure. Anti-islanding protection is an important technical requirement for grid-connected PV system. Until now, various anti-islanding methods for detecting and preventing islanding of photovoltaic and other distributed generations have been proposed. Most of them are focusing on the anti-islanding performance of single PV system according to the related international and domestic standard test procedures. There are few studies on the islanding phenomenon for multiple photovoltaic operation in parallel. This paper presents performance analysis of anti-islanding function for grid-connected PV inverter systems when several PV inverters are connected in parallel.

In the photovoltaic applications, MPPT(maximum power point tracking) method is essential due to the non-lineality of photovoltaic output characteristics. To ensure stable tracking response, two sensors are required in conventional popular MPPTs. In modularized PV system as an AC module system, the cost of a sensor can have an effect on entire system cost because a power conditioning device is connected in a PV module. Because only a current sensor is required for proposed MPPT, it is helpful in the cost reduction point of view. In this paper, a novel MPPT using current sensor is proposed In the proposed MPPT, the voltage is derived from sensed current value. The proposed method is verified by simulation results.
Currently the variety of governmental business support and research for supplying solar energy have been actively progressed. As of now, however, There are no practical testing infrastructures of grid-connected photovoltaic system which test performance of solar power facility in domestic. Therefore, in KEPRI, there is in progress construction of practical testing ground of 500 kW class grid-connected PV System for developing the evaluation of the performance technology including the Module, PCS, and etc, that is the important instrument of the PV System, in Gochang area. It analyzed the site creation work for constructing the practical testing ground and new construction of control room and the unit standards, specifications and capacity of required equipment. For the system detailed design, configuration, instrument-specific parameters established, power generation predictions of Array Type and the components of testing ground are needed to build.

This study focuses on analyzing the energy-saving effects of the recirculation aquaculture system using seawater source heat pumps and solar power generation. Based on the thermal load analysis conducted using the transient system simulation tool, the annual energy consumption of the recirculation aquaculture system was analyzed and the energy-saving effects of utilizing the photovoltaic system was evaluated. When analyzing the heat load, the sea areas where the fish farms are located, the type of breeding tank, and the circulation rate of breeding water were taken into consideration. In addition, a method for determining the appropriate capacity for each operation time was examined when applying the energy storage system instead of the existing diesel generator as an emergency power, which is required to maintain the water temperature of breeding water during power outage. The results suggest that, among the four seas considered, Jeju should be estimated to achieve the highest energy-saving performance using the solar power generation, with approximately 45% energy savings.

Grid-connected photovoltaic generator system requires high performance PCS(Power Conditioning System) according to the standard of 'Distributed Generation Grid-Connected Technology Standards'. This paper presents the MPPT control method which improves output efficiency through fast tracking to the maximum power point of PV and a reduced self-excited vibration. Secondly, in this paper DVR function was applied to PCS to compensate the voltage sag frequently happening for a power system. The proposed PCS control is analyzed and compared to conventional PCS operating characteristic, the various insolation and loads, and voltage sag condition through PSIM tool. It proves the utility.
Recently, for the efforts of low-carbon deduction and to solve the problems of global warming, many industrial nations in world have been strengthening positively their competitive power into the research, development and industrialization of new renewable sources of energy and clean energy. In the most promising source of photovoltaic, it is essential that the government take an initiative role to develop and industrialize the materials, ingot or wafer, solar cell, power conditioning system and photovoltaic system, and need to establish both short-term and long-term technical development of goal setting and forward plan in the direction of the technical development strategy and forward industrialization for the strengthening of world market. This paper analyze new technology, policies and the market trend of photovoltaic field which are currently strategically and actively enhancing the research, development and practical-industralization by Korea and other nations.

Monitoring system is constructed for evaluating and analyzing performance of installed 50kW grid-connected PV system and have been monitored since October 2005. As climatic and irradiation conditions have been varied through long-term operation, there is necessity for evaluating numerical values of PV(Photovoltaic) system performance to observe the overall effect of environmental conditions on their operation characteristics. This paper presents performance monitoring results and analysis on component perspective(PV array and power conditioning system) and global perspective(yield, losses) of PV system for one year monitoring periods.
Research and development of energy self-consumption introducing photovoltaic and energy storage system at home is very active. This system can manage the home energy in which it charges the electricity generated during the day and uses it during high electricity bills. However, it not yet made up the residential real-time pricing in Korea but it can reduce electricity usage to a certain target on the progressive. In order to introduce the home photovoltaic, it requires PCS(Power Conditioning System). This converts the direct current into alternating current by the electricity generated and used to perform charging and discharging of the energy storage system. The market for self-consumption smart home system is currently increasing because the interests of the general public about solar power, energy storage systems increased. The result of this study is installed on the room environment and the effect was analyzed on the assumption of real-time pricing.

This paper is proposed mathematical load modelling based on system identification approach of energy consumption of residential air conditioning. Due to air conditioning is one of the significant equipment which consumes high energy and cause the peak load of power system especially in the summer time. The demand response is one of the solutions to decrease the load consumption and cutting peak load to avoid the reservation of power supply from power plant. In order to operate this solution, mathematical modelling of air conditioning which explains the behaviour is essential tool. The four type of linear model is selected for explanation the behaviour of this system. In order to obtain model, the experimental setup are performed by collecting input and output data every minute of 9,385 BTU/h air-conditioning split type with $25^{\circ}C$ thermostat setting of one sample house. The input data are composed of solar radiation ($W/m^2$) and ambient temperature ($^{\circ}C$). The output data are power and energy consumption of air conditioning. Both data are divided into two groups follow as training data and validation data for getting the exact model. The model is also verified with the other similar type of air condition by feed solar radiation and ambient temperature input data and compare the output energy consumption data. The best model in term of accuracy and model order is output error model with 70.78% accuracy and $17^{th}$ order. The model order reduction technique is used to reduce order of model to seven order for less complexity, then Kalman filtering technique is applied for remove white Gaussian noise for improve accuracy of model to be 72.66%. The obtained model can be also used for electrical load forecasting and designs the optimal size of renewable energy such photovoltaic system for supply the air conditioning.
