  • This paper describes the development of 7he utility vehicle controller using combination system of battery and photovoltaic power for increasing operation time. In order to keep interchangeability, low cost and high performance, a separately excited DC Motor is controlled without velocity and current measurements by $\mu$-processor. For the parallel operation between the solar cell and battery, dc-dc converter is used, which is applied to the maximum power Point tracking(MPPT) and current control algorithm. By the simulation and experimental results of trial product, the vapidity of the proposed system is verified.

  • The modular line-connected photovoltaic PCS (power conditioning system) is proposed. The proposed system consists of a step-up DC-DC converter and a full-bridge inverter. A step-up DC-DC converter using a dual series-resonant rectifier circuit and a active-clamp circuit is proposed to achieve a high efficiency and a high input-output voltage ratio efficiently. An IncCond (incremental conductance) MPPT (maximum power point tracking) algorithm that improves MPPT characteristic is used. By control a inverter using a linearized output current controller, a unity power factor is achieved. All algorithms and controllers are implemented on a single-chip microcontroller and the superiority of the proposed algorithms and controllers is proved by experiments.

  • The efficiency of photovoltaic generation systems depends on the maximum power point tracking (MPPT) technique. Among the various schemes presented in the literature, the incremental conductance (INC) method is one of the most frequently used due to its superb tracking ability under changes in insolation and temperature. Generally, conventional INC algorithms implement a simple duty-cycle updating rule that is mainly found on the polarity of the peak-power evaluation function. However, this fails to maximize the performance in both steady-state and transient conditions. In order to overcome this limitation, a novel regulated INC (r-INC) method is proposed in this paper. Like the compensators in automatic control systems, this method applies a digital compensator to evaluate the INC function and improve the capability of power tracking. Precise modeling of a new MPPT system is also presented in the optimized design process. A 120W boost peak power tracker is utilized to obtain comparative test results and to confirm the superiority of the proposed method over existing techniques.

  • This paper proposes a novel maximum power point tracking(MPPT) using a new fuzzy control(NFC) algorithm for robust in insolation variation. Maximum power point(MPP) of solar cell has to achieve for improving output efficiency because it is changed with insolation and temperature. Conventional MPPT controller such as constant voltage(CV), perturbation and observation(PO) and incremental conductance(IC) are researched. But these controller have the problem that is failure to MPP with environment changing. The proposed NFC controller is based the fuzzy control algorithm and able to robust control with environment changing. Also the proposed controller of PV system is modeled by PSIM and the response characteristics according to the parameter variation is compared and analyzed. The validity of this controller is proved through response results.

  • Maximum power point tracking (MPPT) techniques play a big role in improving the efficiency of photovoltaic (PV) system. Among various schemes, the incremental conductance (INC) method is mostly discussed in literature because of its fast response to the rapid irradiation changes and high tracking accuracy. However, the existing INC algorithm has trade-offs between fast dynamic response and steady state stability. This study proposes a novel INC method to meet high efficiency and fast tracking performance at the same time.

  • Tracking the Maximum Power Point(MPP) of a photovoltaic(PV) array is usually an essential part of a PV system. The problem considered by MPPT techniques is to find the voltage $V_{MPP}$ or current $I_{MPP}$ at which a PV array should operate to generate the maximum power output PMPP under a given temperature and irradiance. The MPPT control methods, such as the perturb and observe method and the incremental conductance method require microprocessor or DSP to determine if the duty cycle should be increased or not. This paper proposes a simple and fast analog MPPT method. The proposed control scheme will track the MPP very fast and its hardware implementation is so simple, compared with the conventional techniques. The new algorithm has successfully tracked the MPP, even in case of rapidly changing atmospheric conditions, and Has higher efficiency than ordinary algorithms.

  • Photovoltaic power generation requires MPPT algorithm to track stable and efficient maximum power output power point according to external changes such as solar radiation and temperature. This study implemented a model that could track MPP more quickly than original MPPT algorithm using artificial neural network. The proposed model finds the current and voltage of MPP using the original MPPT algorithm for various combinations of insolation and temperature for training data of artificial neural networks. The acquired MPP data was learned using the input node as insolation and temperature and the output node as the current and voltage. The Experiment results show tracking time of the original algorithms P&O, InC and Fuzzy were respectively 0.428t, 0.49t and 0.4076t for the 0t~0.3t range, and MPP tracking time of the proposed model was 0.32511t and it is 0.1t faster than the original algorithms.

The output power of PV depends on the environmental factors such as insolation and cell temperature. It is proposed that the MPPT is based on an simple power control algorithm. Furthermore the converter has to maintain the optimum duty ratio. A switching strategy of converter for battery may Protect against excessive discharge and overcharge. This paper includes discussion on system reliability power quality and effects of the randomness of the wind and the solar radiation on system design.
