A Novel Linking Schiff-Base Type Ligand (L: py-CH=N-C6H4-N=CH-py) and Its Zinc Coordination Polymers:Preparation of L, 2-Pyridin-3-yl-1H-benzoimidazol, trans-[Zn(H2O)4L2].(NO3)2.(MeOH)2[Zn(NO3)(H2O)2(L)].(NO3).(H2O)2 and [Zn(L)(OBC)(H2O)] (OBC = 4,4'-Oxybis(benzoate))

  • A long, bis(monodentate), linking Schiff-base ligand L (py-CH=N-$C_6H_4$-N=CH-py) was prepared from 1,4-phenylenediamine and 3-pyridinecarboxaldehyde by the Schiff-base condensation. Ligand L has two terminal pyridyl groups capable of coordinating to metals through their nitrogen atoms. In contrast, the same reaction between 1,2-phenylenediamine and 3-pyridinecarboxaldehyde produced a mixture of imidazol isomers (2-pyridin-3-yl-1H-benzoimidazole), which are connected to one another by the N-H…N hydrogen bonding to form a tetramer. From Zn($NO_3)_2{\cdot}6H_2O$ and ligand L under various conditions, one discrete molecule, trans- [Zn($H_2O)_4L_2]{\cdot}(NO_3)_2{\cdot}(MeOH)_2$, and two 1-D zinc polymers, [Zn$(NO_3)(H_2O)_2(L)]{\cdot}(NO_3){\cdot}(H_2O)_2$ and [Zn(L) (OBC)($H_2O$)], were prepared. In ligand L, the N$\ldots$N separation between the terminal pyridyl groups is 13.994 $\AA$, with their nitrogen atoms at the meta positions (3,3’) in a trans manner. The corresponding N$\ldots$N separations in its compounds range from 13.853 to 14.754 $\AA$.

  • 실온에서 $WCl_6$$WNaNO_2$ 및 산성화시킨 $WFeSO_4$의 환원성 니트로실화 반응을 통해 다핵 화합물인 [{$W(NO)_2Cl_2$}$_n$]을 합성하였다. 이 [{$W(NO)_2Cl_2$}$_n$]와 한자리 및 두자리 리간드를 반응시켜 비교적 높은 수득률(70$\sim$90%)로 중성의 단핵 화합물인 [$W(NO)_2Cl_2L_2$(or L-L)]을 얻었다. 배위 리간드로는 3,5-lutidine, ${\gamma}$-cyanopyridine, 1,2-phenylenediamine, 1,10-phenanthroline, sym-diphenylethylenediamine, 9,10-phenanthrenequinone, 1,3-bis(diphenylphosphino)propane, 1,1'-bis(diphenylphosphino)ferrocene 및 8-hydroxyquinoline을 사용하였다. 합성한 디니트로실텡스텐 착물은 원소분석과 적외선, 핵자기 공명 및 전자 흡수 스펙트럼 등을 이용해서 그 특성을 조사하였으며 이들 분광학적 결과로써 모든 화합물의 기하학적 구조가 $C_{2v}$ 대칭인 cis-dinitrosyl-trans-dichloro-cis-$L_2$의 구조임을 확인하였다.

이산화탄소 분리를 위한 폴리에틸렌글리콜계 폴리이미드 공중합체 비대칭 평판형 분리막의 제조 및 기체 투과 특성평가 (Characterization and Preparation of PEG-Polyimide Copolymer Asymmetric Flat Sheet Membranes for Carbon Dioxide Separation)

  • 본 연구에서는 높은 이산화탄소 분리성능을 가지는 폴리이미드의 제조를 위해 2,2-bis(3,4-carboxylphenyl) hexafluoropropane과 두종류의 아민인 2,3,5,6-tetramethyl-1,4-phenylenediamine, Poly(ethylene glycol) bis(3-aminopropyl) terminated을 이용하여 합성을 진행하였다. 합성된 고분자를 비용매 상전이법으로 비대칭 분리막을 제조하기 위하여 고분자의 용해도 지수 추정 값과 비용매 상전이 계수 측정을 통해 용매를 선정하였고, 고분자 용액 점도 측정을 통해 분리막 제조를 위한 도프용액 중의 고분자의 함량을 결정하여 질산리튬을 첨가제로 사용하여 최종적으로 분리막을 제조하였다. 제조된 평판형 비대칭 분리막은 전자주사현미경(SEM)을 통해 질산리튬과 휘발성 용매 함량에 변화에 따른 모폴로지의 변화를 확인하였으며, 이의 변화에 따른 기체 투과도 변화를 확인하였다. 분리막 제조를 위한 도프용액 중의 휘발성 용매 함량이 작을수록 선택도 변화가 없으면서 이산화탄소 투과도가 증가하는 것을 확인하였다.

1,3-Acetonedicarboxylic acid와 2,5-dimethoxytetrahydrofuran에 의한 diamine들의 반응에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Reactions of Diamines with 2,5-Dimethoxytetrahydrofuran and 1,3-Acetonedicarboxylic Acid)

  • 본 연구를 통해 항 경련 활성을 보이는 8-aza-bicyclo[3,2,1]octan-3-one 구조를 모체로 하여 생리활성 및 구조적 특이성을 가진 8-aza-bicyclo[3,2,1]octan-3-one 화합물을 합성하고자 하였다. 본 논문에서는 ethylenediamine 1을 2,5-dimethoxyte-trahydrofuran과 1,3-acetonedicarboxylic acid을 반응시켜 8-(2-pyrrol-1-yl-ethyl)-8-aza-bicyclo[3,2,1]octan-3-one 2(yield ; 5.0%)와 1,2-di-8-aza-bicyclo[3,2,1]octan-3-onyl)ethane 3(yield ; 17.0%)을 합성하였다. 1,3diaminopropane 4의 경우에는, 8-(3-pyrrol-1-yl-propyl)-8-aza-bicyclo[3,2,1]octan-3-one 5(yield ; 6.0%)와 1,3-di-8-aza-bicyclo[3,2,1]octan-3-onyl)propane 6 (yield; 21.0%)을, 그리고 1,8-diaminooctane 7의 경우에는 8-(-8-pyrrol-1-yl-octyl)-8-aza-bicyclo[3,2,1]octan-3-one 8(yield; 2.6%)과 1,8-di-8-aza-bicyclo[3,2,1]octan-3-onyl)octane 9(yield; 24.9%)를 합성할 수 있었다. Diaminoalkanes(1,.4, 7)의 반응에서 보면 실온에서 반응을 진행시켰기에 pyrrole 유도체보다는 8-aza-bicyclo[3,2,1]octan-3-one 유도체의 합성이 보다 유리한 결과를 나타냈다. 그리고 탄소 chain이 길수록 N 원자에 전자를 잘 밀어주어 활성이 더 좋았으며 탄소 steric effect도 작기 때문에 생성물의 yield가 더 높았다. Diaminobenzene(10, 14) 역시 diaminoalkane의 반응과 같이 p-phenylenediamine 10을 2,5-dimethoxytetrahydrofuran, 그리고 1,3-acetonedicarboxylic acid과 반응시켜 p-dipyrrolylbenzene 11(yield; 4.0%), 8-(4-pyrrol-1-yl-phenyl)-8-aza-bicyclo[3,2,1]octan-3-one 12(yield; 12.0%), 1,4-di-(8-aza-bicyclo[3,2,1]octan-3-onyl)-benzene 13(yield; 59.0%)을 합성하였고, m-phynylenediamine 14의 경우에도 8-(3-pyrrol-l-yl-phenyl)-8-aza-bicyclo[3,2,1]octan-3-one 15(yield; 2.0%)와 1,3-di-(8-aza-bicyclo[3,2,1]octan-3-onyl)-benzene 16(yield; 28.0%)을 합성할 수 있었다. 그러나 o-phynylenediamine 17의 경우에는 8-aza-bicyclo[3,2,1]octan-3-one ring들의 steric hindrance의 영향에 의해 1,3-di-8-aza-bicyclo[3,2,1]octan-3-onyl)benzene은 합성되지 않았다.

Protective Effects of a Ginseng Component, M altol(2- M ethyl-3- Hydroxy-4- Pyrone) against Tissue Damages Induced By Oxygen Radicals

  • Maltol(2-methyl-3-hydroxy-r-pyrone), a component known to be present in Korean Ginseng root showed an antioxidant action but its potency as an antioxidant was low; about 1150th that of other antioxidants such as p-phenylenediamine , BHA and BHT. However, maltol was able to protect the oxidation adamants in biological systems such as adriamycin-induced membrane damage in isolated cardiomyocytes, parquet-induced toxicities in isolated hepatocytes and repercussion injury in isolated hearts. The antioxidant action of maltol was also shown to be effective in vivo. The antioxidant action of this compound was probably due to the removal of hydroxyl radicals. In view of the roles of oxygen radical in various pathological processes, Korean Ginseng root, which contains several antioxidants including maltol, is expected to have beneficial efforts on the oxygen radical-involved processes. Hydrolytic Stability of Sulfonic Acid-Containing Polyimides for Fuel Cell Membranes

  • The long-term stability of sulfonic acid-containing polyimides has been investigated. The hydrolytic degradation of homopolyimide and the block copolyimide comprising $27\;mol\%$ of 2,2'-bis(trifluoromethyl)benzidine and $9\;mol\%$ of m-phenylenediamine (BTFMB27mPl0[7/(3+1)]), was quantified through viscosity measurements and FT-IR spectroscopic analyses. The viscosity decrease with respect to time and the degradation rate were similar. The degrees of degradation with respect to time under ambient conditions and at elevated temperature in water were monitored by FT-IR spectroscopy. A new absorption peak was observed at $1786\;cm^{-1},$ which we corresponds to the presence of anhydride end groups formed by hydrolytic scission of the imide rings.

콩나물 Peroxidase의 효소적 특성 (Enzymatic Characterization of Peroxidase from Soybean Sprouts)

  • Enzymatic characterization of peroxidase(E.C. 1.11.1.7) from soybean sprouts was investigated. The optimum pH of the purified peroxidase was 7.0 and relatively stable at pH 6.0~7.0. And the optimum temperature was 50oC. The enzyme was most active with guaiacol as a substrate, followed by (+)catechin, pyrogallol and p phenylenediamine. The Km values for guaiacol and H2O2 were 4.2mM and 2.5mM, respectively. L Ascorbic acid and 2 mercaptoethanol greatly inhibited the enzyme activity, while Cu2+, Co2+ and Ni2+ activated the enzyme.

  • A series of new, vinyl sulfone-containing monomers was prepared by p-aminophenyl vinyl sulfone (1) with various acid chlorides such as adipoly chloride, terephthaloyl chloride and isophthaloyl chloride. Finally, tertiary amine-containing poly(amide-sulfone)s were prepared by the Michael-type addition polymerization using N,N-dimethylethylenediamine (DMEDA), p-phenylenediamine and piperazin. To evaluate the relevant properties for permselective membranes and enzyme substrate, various physical properties such as molecular weight, solubility, quaternization behavior and thermal properties were examined.

  • The paper describes the preparation and characterization of conductive polyaniline-modified polymers by growing of aniline onto functionalized poly(styrene-co-p-methylstyrene) [P(St-co-MSt)]. For this purpose, P(St-co-MSt) was synthesized via nitroxide mediated radical polymerization (NMRP) and then N-boromosuccinimide was used for introduction of bromine to the benzylic positions of copolymer. Afterwards, 1,4-phenylenediamine was linked to the brominated P(St-co-MSt) and functionalized copolymer $[P(St-co-MSt)-NH_2]$ was prepared. The graft copolymerization of aniline monomers onto functionalized P(St-co-MSt) was initiated by oxidized phenylamine groups after addition of ammonium peroxydisulfate (APS), and p-toluenesulfonic acid-doped PANI was chemically grafted onto P(St-co-MSt) via oxidation polymerization. The obtained terpolymer was studied by FTIR and UV-Vis spectroscopy and its thermal behaviour were examined by DSC and TGA analyses. The conductivity of terpolymer was measured by four-point probe method and electroactivity was measured by cyclic voltammetry (CV). The solubility of P(St-co-MSt)-g-PANI was examined in common organic solvents.

Spacer 의 변화에 의한 Thermotropic Polyamide 및 Copolyamide 의 합성 (Synthesis of Thermotropic Liquid-Crystalline Polyamides and Copolyamides Containing a Different Spacer in the Main Chain and Their Structure Interpretation)

  • Synthesis and liquid-crystallinites of thermotropic polyamides and copolyamides were investigated. Thermotropic polyamides and copolyamides containing a flexible spacer in the backbone were obtained by the two or three components melt polycondensations of 4,4'-dicarboxy-${\alpha}$${\omega}$-diphenoxy alkane as an A components, 4,4'-diacetoamido-3,3' dimethoxybiphenyl as a B, 1,4-diacetoamido-benzene (diacetylated p-phenylenediamine) was used as another amide-group-forming minomer. The content of the amide groups in the thermotropic polyamide and Copolyamide widely varied depending on the structure of the amide-group forming diacetoamido monomers. A polymer (9CLDI) showed a typical nematic texture between 218$^{circle}C$ ($T_m$) and 345$^{circle}C$($T_i$) The melting points of the members of this series of polymers increased with decreasing methylene spacer. The polymer structure and mesmorphic nature were examined by solid and solution ${^13}C$-NMR spectroscopy, cross polarizing microscopy with a hot stage.
