특수고용형태근로종사자들의 건강문제와 대처: 학습지 교사, 보험설계사, 신용카드회원모집인을 중심으로 (Health Problems and Coping of Workers under Special Employment Relationships: Home-visit Tutors, Insurance Salespersons, and Credit Card Recruiters)

  • Purpose: This study aimed to determine health problems experienced by workers in special employment relationships (WSER) and identify coping strategies used when such problems occur. Methods: This qualitative study used the focus group interview method. Thirteen study participants included five home-visit tutors, five insurance salespersons, and three credit card recruiters. The interviews were conducted from November 2018 through January 2019, with each occupational group interview lasting about 2 hours. Analysis based on phenomenological research was independently performed by two researchers. Results: Most participants had common health problems involving vocal cord symptoms, and stress related to emotional labor and traffic accidents. The unique health problems included cystitis, musculoskeletal, and digestive symptoms in home-visit tutors; reduced vision and hearing in insurance salespersons; and mental distress in credit card recruiters. There was no protection system for their health coverage, and the company emphasized their self-employed status to avoid taking responsibility for them. Twelve participants did not purchase occupational accident insurance owing to both not having adequate information and economic burden concerning premium status. Conclusion: WSER experienced both physical and mental health problems. These problems were caused by their unstable employment status, and the social security system for their coverage being non-functioning.

COVID-19 팬데믹 상황에서 초등학생 어머니의 변화된 양육 경험 (The Changed Parenting Experiences of Mothers of Elementary School Students in the Face of the COVID-19 Pandemic)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this qualitative study is to explore the changed parenting experiences of mothers of elementary school kids living in the aftermath of the COVID-19 outbreak in Korea. Methods: From July to August in 2020, 10 mothers parenting elementary school students under the COVID-19 were interviewed in depth. For data analysis, a phenomenological research methodology suggested by Colaizzi was used. Results: According to the analysis, the experiences of mothers consisted of four categories: the 'pain from the uncontrollable COVID-19', 'the problem of family relations due to the COVID-19 pandemic situation', 'standing firm against the drastic changes', and 'accepting the world changed by the COVID-19'. Conclusion: The findings in this study vividly represent the parenting experiences of mothers of elementary school students after the outbreak of COVID-19. As the pandemic persists, mothers parenting elementary school students feel complex emotions and experience exhaustion, but in the process, they found family members growing positively and trying to adjust to each other to overcome the crisis. To support positive adaptation to catastrophic situations, an institutional and political foundation is needed to develop a systematic crisis management program customized for mothers and families of elementary school students. The results of this study can be used as basic data when establishing national policies and support systems so that mothers parenting elementary school students can better adapt to and overcome crisis situations.

기록관리 전문가단체의 교육 서비스 방향 모색을 위한 탐색 연구: 한국기록전문가협회를 중심으로 (An Exploratory Study to Find the Education Service Direction of Records Managers and Archivists' Professional Associations: Focusing on the Korea Association of Records Managers and Archivists)

  • 본 연구는 기록관리 전문직의 경험 이면에 있는 인식과 그 의미를 해석하여 현재 처한 상황과 핵심 역량을 도출하고, 이를 토대로 전문가단체의 교육 서비스 방향을 모색하는 데 목적이 있다. 해석현상학적 연구방법을 통한 질적 데이터 분석 결과, 본 연구는 기록관리 현장의 요구 상황, 기록관리 전문직 핵심 역량, 교육 서비스 방향의 3개 범주와 10개 상위주제, 30개의 하위주제와 82개의 의미단위를 생성하였다. 이를 기반으로 전문가단체의 교육 서비스 방향으로, '업무 혁신을 위해 외부 동력을 확보할 수 있는 기회 제공', '기관 간 소통 및 공론화를 위한 학습 기회 제공', '새로운 파트너십과 실질적인 학습 기회 제공'을 제시하였다. 본 연구는 현재 기록관리 전문직이 처한 상황 속에서 실질적으로 요구 받고 있는 핵심 역량을 파악함으로써 전문가단체가 집중하여 지원해야 할 주요한 교육 서비스 방향을 도출하였다는 데 그 의의가 있다.

  • 본 연구의 목적은 Fisher(1995, 2003)의 다차원적 정책평가방법 중 상황적 타당성 평가를 활용하여 우리나라의 장애인 고용·일자리 정책을 평가하고 그에 따른 정책적 함의를 도출하는 것이다. 우리나라에서 진행된 다수의 장애인 고용·일자리 정책평가 연구들이 계량적인 연구방법에 치우쳐 균형 있고 종합적인 평가에는 소홀한 측면이 있었다. 본 연구에서는 기존의 실증주의적 방법론의 한계를 보완하는 질적 또는 현상학적 접근을 통해 균형 있는 정책평가를 시도하였다. 연구결과, 장애인 고용서비스·일자리의 개선을 위해 기관 간 연계·협력 강화, 고용서비스 사각지대 해소, 질적 개선, 맞춤형 고용서비스 확대, 프로그램 내실화, 정책·제도적 환경개선, 개인 심리정서적 지원강화가 향후 우리나라 장애인고용정책에서 중요한 것으로 나타났다.

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study was to explore and analyze experiences with home-visiting oral health education in vulnerable populations and to provide foundational data necessary for the development of preventive strategies for oral health promotion among these patients. Methods: Using a phenomenological research, in-depth interviews were conducted between August 29 and October 31, 2023 with 20 vulnerable individuals participating in the Home Visit Oral Health Education Program under the Gwangju+ Gwangsan Integrated Care Service project spearheaded by the Gwangju Medical Welfare Cooperative. Results: After analyzing the contents of the participants' experiences, 130 meaningful words and 14 subcategories were identified and categorized into five major themes. Participants expressed discomfort when chewing or swallowing food and felt burdened by visits to the dentist. Although they experienced considerable loneliness because they spent a significant amount of time alone, they enjoyed communicating through visitation care and expressed gratitude for receiving oral health education. Conclusions: Oral health education through home visits cam increase awareness of oral health management among vulnerable populations and serve as an important means of improving their quality of life.

졸업학년 간호대학생의 성 소수자에 대한 인식 (Awareness of Sexual Minorities among Nursing College Students in Graduation Year)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 졸업학년 간호대학생의 성 소수자에 대한 인식의 의미를 탐구하는 것이다. 연구참여자는 C도와 K도 소재의 3개 간호대학에 재학 중인 졸업학년 학생 8명이었다. 자료수집은 2023년 11월부터 2024년 1월까지 심층 면담을 통해 이루어졌으며, 자료는 현상학 연구방법(Colaizzi)을 활용하여 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 4개의 범주와 8개의 주제 모음이 도출되었다. 4개의 범주는'성 소수자에 대한 양가감정', '성 소수자의 힘든 처지에 대한 공감', '성 소수자 돌봄에 대한 두려움', '간호사로서 미래를 위한 준비'로 구성되었다. 본 연구결과는 간호대학생의 바람직한 성 소수자 인식과 돌봄을 향상시키기 위한 간호교육 프로그램 개발의 기초자료를 제공하여 간호교육의 내실화와 질적 향상에 기여할 것이다. 그리고 간호대학생의 성 소수자 인식에 영향을 주는 다양한 요인과 발생 문제에 대한 심도 있는 연구가 필요할 것으로 사료된다.

간호학생의 팀기반 시뮬레이션 학습경험 (Nursing Student's Experiences in Team Based Simulation Learning)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to explore nursing students experiences in team based simulation learning. This study was based on a phenomenological research methodology. Methods: Fourteen nursing students participated in this study. The students gave in depth interviews and wrote reflective journals after participating in a team based simulation learning program, which was provided at C University in Gwangju for 8 weeks, 2011. These data were analyzed using Van Kaam's method. Results: 21 sub-themes and 9 themes were elicited from 55 significant statements. They were classified into 3 categories such as : 'First exposed to lessons on how Burden', 'the enjoyment of team based simulation learning', 'expansion of the clinical competence'. Conclusion: Teaching and learning strategy that combines a variety of simulation training to nursing students to develop critical skills to improve their care to give and take advantage of simulation training supplement is advised.

한국 HIV 감염인의 치료 순응경험 (Experience of Treatment Adherence in Korean Patients with HIV)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to explore the subjective experience of Highly active Antiretroviral therapy (HAART) adherence in Korean patients with HIV. Methods: A phenomenological methodology was used for the study. Data were collected from March to December, 2013 using open-ended questions during in-depth interviews. Participants were taking HAART for HIV, and were contacted through purposive techniques. Results: Four men and 4 women whose average treatment period was 5.9 years participated in this study. Seven themes emerged from the analysis using Colazzi's method: (a) Seizing life in a deep sense of despair, (b) Struggling with medication, (c) Facing harsh treatment from health care providers, (d) Spoiling healthy pattern, (e) Hungering for communication and emotional support, (f) Turning to accepting HIV, (g) Becoming adherent to HIV treatment. Conclusion: Prejudice from health care providers and lack of emotional support were barriers to HAART in Korea. Intervention strategies are needed to decrease prejudices from health care providers and to increase family support.

직장여성의 육아경험 - 1세 이하 유아를 중심으로 - (The Lived Experience of Working Women Raising Children)

  • Purpose: This study was done to describe the essential structure of the lived experience of working women raising children. Method: Data were collected from 10 employed women with children who were under 2 years of age. The analysis of the data was done using the phenomenological analytic method suggested by Colaizzi (1978). Results: In this study, 6 essential themes were extracted: 'knowing by intuition child-rearing is difficult', 'having guilt-conscious of not being able to perform duties as a mother', 'hard work of maintaining two jobs', 'Lost self', 'realizing that one has become amother', 'thirsting for a social support system'. Conclusion: With a rapidly increasing number of working women, the significance of this study in the field of nursing is in understanding the child-rearing experience of working women. The findings indicate the need for a systemic and emotional support system for working women raising children.

암 병원 입원 환자들의 '좋은 간호(Good Nursing)' 경험 (Good Nursing Experience of Patients with Cancer in a Korean Cancer Hospital)

  • Purpose : This study aimed to explore and describe good nursing experiences of patients with cancer. Methods : Data were collected using individual in-depth interviews with 15 males and 8 females who were hospitalized in a Korean cancer hospital. The transcribed script was analyzed using Colaizzi's phenomenological method. Results : As a result, three theme clusters and nine themes were identified. The three theme clusters were as follows: "being kind and expert in every step along the cancer care trajectory," "taking an omnipotent mediator role supporting patients' well-being," and "providing professional care touching patients' mind and body." Three themes were assigned to each cluster to illustrate the given phenomena. Conclusion : Cancer patients wanted considerate understanding and sincere care from nurses while they experienced physical and emotional suffering owing to the cancer, treatment trajectory, and hospital system. To improve the quality of nursing care for cancer patients, patient-centered care combined with nurses' expertise in oncology care must be provided based on the insights from our study's findings.
