  • There is so much difference in the way we perceive nature whether from eastern or western, present or past standpoint. however, awareness of coexistence between human beings and nature along with the concept that the most natural is th e most beautiful remain unchanged. The desire to describe the beauty of nature have existed all through the ages, but the (new) naturalism movement was spawned in our time when so much devastation and side effects took place for the expediency of nature, and field of display has been trying new interpretation of nature with direct or applied method. Naturalism trend is studied using the categories such as relationship between human and nature, space concept in western and eastern society, and the definition of view of nature in modern time. Elements of naturalism display are classified into the element of physical properties and element beyond the physical properties, and then methodology on naturalism display is investigated, using the illustration of display examples, in order to know the most essential elements of display, which are the physical properties such as space, light, object, glass, are expressed based on the elemental concept like nature, an accident, dynamic state, variability. As mentioned above, Naturalism display consists of physical properties and phenomenon. How to ive strong impression to a spectator depends on the ability to create effective space applying these elements. The significance of this study comes to surface in a time when the tremendous emphasis is put on the importance of nature and concerns about the role of display has become even greater.

  • Ceaseless studies and efforts to verify today's Korean nature that has advanced into digital era of 21C are continued. At this point of time, it is required to look back our heritage in diverse points of view free from theoretical and formal studies on our traditional spaces. Phenomenology, which is rising as the important theme in recent modem Western philosophy, suggests interesting analyses from this standpoint. This study is intended to analyze Korea's traditional residents 'Dok Rak Dang' based on Marleau-Ponty's phenomenology, and explore phenomenological spatial principle and new point of view implied in it. Particularly, Marleau-Ponty's phenomenology is the philosophy that shows intersubjective and involved relations between space and human, and intended to accept coincidental incidents occurred by human's action truthfully as they are. With three spatial concepts of direction, depth, and movement in Ponty's phenomenology, and placement nature of the earth that intercombine with human's body who is subject of these three concepts as analyze tool, Korea's traditional residents, 'Dok Rak Dang' has been analyzed. More segmentalized analyses have been deduced, and principle of phenomenology, that perceptions such as direction, depth, movement, etc are working synthetically to be accepted as essence of experiences could also be found in Dok Rak Dang.

  • Prediction of composite fatigue life is not a straightforward matter, depending on various failure modes and their interactions. In this paper, a methodology is presented to predict fatigue life and residual strength of composite materials based on Phenomenological Model(non-linear fatigue damage model). It is assumed that the residual strength is a monotonically decreasing function of the number of loading cycles and applied fatigue stress ratio and the model parameters(strength degradation parameter and fatigue shape parameter) are assumed as function of fatigue life. Then S-N curve is used to extract model parameters that are required to characterize the stress levels comprising a randomly-ordered load spectrum. Different stress ratios (${\sigma}_{min}/{\;}{\sigma}_{max}$) are handled with Goodman correction approach(fatigue envelope) and the residual strength after an arbitrary load cycles is represented by two parameter weibull functions.

  • To predict the surface subsidence of salt rock storage, a new surface subsidence basin model is proposed based on the Logistic function from the phenomenological perspective. Analysis shows that the subsidence curve on the main section of the model is S-shaped, similar to that of the actual surface subsidence basin; the control parameter of the subsidence curve shape can be changed to allow for flexible adjustment of the curve shape. By using this model in combination with the MMF time function that reflects the single point subsidence-time relationship of the surface, a new dynamic prediction model of full section surface subsidence for salt rock storage is established, and the numerical simulation calculation results are used to verify the availability of the new model. The prediction results agree well with the numerical simulation results, and the model reflects the continued development of surface subsidence basin over time, which is expected to provide some insight into the prediction and visualization research on surface subsidence of salt rock storage.

  • Ferritic stainless steel is recently used in high temperature structures because of its good properties of thermal fatigue resistance, corrosion resistance, and low price. Tensile and low-cycle fatigue (LCF) tests on 429EM stainless steel used in exhaust manifold were performed at several temperatures from room temperature to 80$0^{\circ}C$. Elastic Modulus, yield strength, and ultimate tensile strength monotonically decreased when temperature increased. Cyclic hardening occurred considerably during the most part of the fatigue life. Dynamic strain aging was observed in 200~50$0^{\circ}C$, which affects the cyclic hardening behavior. Among the fatigue parameters such as plastic strain amplitude, stress amplitude, and plastic strain energy density (PSED), PSED was a proper fatigue parameter since it maintained at a constant value during LCF deformation even though cyclic hardening occurs considerably. A phenomenological life prediction model using PSED was proposed considering the influence of temperature on fatigue life.
