  • We propose a primary water stress corrosion cracking (PWSCC) initiation model of Alloy 600 that considers the stress triaxiality factor to apply to finite element analysis. We investigated the correlation between stress triaxiality effects and PWSCC growth behavior in cold-worked Alloy 600 stream generator tubes, and identified an additional stress triaxiality factor that can be added to Garud's PWSCC initiation model. By applying the proposed PWSCC initiation model considering the stress triaxiality factor, PWSCC growth simulations based on the macroscopic phenomenological damage mechanics approach were carried out on the PWSCC growth tests of various cold-worked Alloy 600 steam generator tubes and compact tension specimens. As a result, PWSCC growth behavior results from the finite element prediction are in good agreement with the experimental results.

  • Electric mosquito repellent mats can be ignited by damage of cables, partial disconnection, overload. tracking and so on. In this study, we examined the structure of mosquito repellent mat, positive temperature coefficient(PTC) thermistor, used for heating element and phenomenological characteristics of remains, obtained on the scene of fires. After reappearance ignition test of PTC thermistors, we did comparison analysis them. And we could confine that the feature of heating plate and the shape of bursting were same.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to describe hospital nurses' lived experience of being a preceptor in Korea. Methods: The data were collected in three focus group interviews with 15 nurses in one general hospital. The phenomenological analytic method suggested by Colaizzi was used to analyze the data. Results: Five theme clusters and 11 themes emerged from the analysis. The five themes include "inevitable rite of passage for an authentic nurse", "facing new role and situations that were difficult to handle", "preceptee-centered preceptorship", "healing connection with colleague nurses", and "enhanced status with competence". Conclusion: The findings of the study provide deep understanding on hospital nurses' positive as well as negative experiences of being a preceptor and should inform the development of a more integrative preceptorship program to empower both preceptees and preceptors.

  • Purpose: This study was performed to understand the characteristics and the meaning of the illness experience of breast cancer survivors as basic data for the development of an intervention program. Methods: The participants were 25 breast cancer survivors who had completed treatment at a tertiary hospital in Seoul. Data were collected through in-depth and unstructured audio-recorded interviews by the investigator. The participants were asked to describe their illness experience. The data were analyzed according to Giorgi's method for phenomenological analysis. Results: The interview data were organized by theme into 6 categories that emerged from the analysis. The themes were acceptance of the illness, active coping with reality, gaining strength through the support of surrounding people, struggling to overcome a negative mindset, self-reflection, and the pursuit of a meaningful new life. Conclusion: We recommend the development of a survivorship program based on self-reflection, which can engender self-transcendence and spiritual well-being.

  • Electrically-short wire antennas, widely used for mobile communications and EMI measurements, have low rediation efficiency and gain due to the ohmic loss predominant over the radiation power. A very short dipole antenna for wideband EMI measurements has been analyzed using the Method of Moments with the incorporatio of the ohmic loss calculated by the Phenomenological Loss Equivalennce Method(PEM). The calculated results show the rediation gain and efficiency very with the ohmic loss in a wide range of frequencies. Thses results can be effectively used for optimum design of very small antennas and probes for mobile communications and non-disturbing EMI measurements.

  • The purpose of this study was to understand the meaning of experiences in home visiting nursing service among the elderly in community provided by nursing students. Method: This is a phenomenological study to investigate the experience of community-based patients. Data were collected through in-depth interviews from the 4th of March to the 15th of December 2003. Individual interviews were conducted with 8 patients on subjective experiences. Data were analyzed through Colaizzi's method, in which meaningful statements were extracted. Result: Four categories were identified from nine theme clusters. The four categories were 'thankfulness', 'dependence', 'sorrowfulness' and 'the sense of being'. Conclusion: These results show the importance of visiting nursing service for the elderly in community

  • This is a Phenomenological study to describe the experience of nursing students on blind persons. Report and individual interviews were conducted on subjective experience of 5 nursing students. Data were analyzed through Giorgi's method in which meaningful statements. The results were from significant statements on reports and interview. These were clustered into 17 theme and 4 central meaning. Nursing Students started practice with prejudice, fear, and expectation at the same time. They also experienced complicated feelings (expansion of consciousness, growth of self, expansion of emotion, true presence)for the blind person. Make a situational structural description from theme and central meaning. Make a general structural description from situational structural description.

  • This study is a phenomenological study done to promote understanding of the dying process in patients with terminal cancer who were in an independent hospice center. The purpose of study was to explore and understand indepth information on the dying process in order to provide data for holistic hospice care in nursing and to give insights in to practical applications in the nursing care In-depth interviewing was done from may, through November, 1995 with 11 patient with cancer who were being cared for at K Hospice Care Center. Experiences in the dying process were discussed as they expressed feelings about death including (a) feeling of isolation because family members try to hide the diagnosis of cancer. (b) hopelessness, (c) guilt, anger, and hostility, (d) suffering from pain, (e) fear of death. However, subjects did not deny death itself and were developing peace of mind and acceptance of death through religion.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to explore college women's views of women for forming an upright sex role identity and sex values. Method: The data were collected through in-depth interviews of 10 college women on Jeju Island from February 2002 to March 2002. The interviews were conducted by the writer of this thesis. Each interview lasted for about 45 minutes. The data were analyzed by the Giorgi method. Result: Five main meanings were identified: 1) unfairness 2) majesty 3) mothering 4) womenishness 5) backward in capacity. In other words, women's roles are to look after their family and to take care of household affairs. Women should be beautiful and have womenish traits. Women are less intelligent than men. Women are dependent on men though they suffer from unfairness. This study presents an evidence that the traditional sex-role attitudes still prevail. Conclusion: In order to form an upright sex role identity and sex values, institutional programs in the society and individual efforts are needed.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to explore and develop a deeper understanding of the experiences of mothers of premature children receiving rehabilitation therapy. Methods: The participants were 12 mothers with premature children who had received rehabilitation therapy for over 1 year. Individual in-depth interviews were conducted from July to August 2017. The data were analyzed through the phenomenological research method. Results: The participants' experience was structured into five thematic clusters: 'Regret and guilt that premature birth led to rehabilitation therapy', 'Burden of life in an endless tunnel', 'Changes in personal relationships surrounding me and my child', 'Meaning of new life through my child', and 'Desire to expand the rehabilitation of premature infants'. Conclusion: The results of this study will be helpful for developing family-centered care programs for premature infants at high risk of developmental disorders.
