The considerable budgets for the 2nd-phase NGIS projects are allocated to the projects for developments of the GIS applications. Especially, the 78 local governments are major users of GIS application systems. In spite of GIS necessity in local government, whether a GIS is 'good' or bad, depends on its implementation and operation. How to implement GIS in effective wav and how to measure GIS effect for justifying GIS funding can be major concerns. Because it takes minimum 3-4 years to equal the costs and benefits of GIS, the long-terms implementation strategies for GIS project in local government are required. In order to establish a proper implementation model for the GIS application projects and to promote activities in the projects, this study considers several problems in accordance with the phases of GIS evolution and solutions of these problems. Based an the GIS auditing and consulting experience in local governments, this study constructs a GIS implementation and maintenance model in long and comprehensive perspective. This model can be a key to affective and realistic implementation for the future GIS projects.
The NISS (Near-infrared Imaging Spectrometer for Star formation history) onboard NEXTSat-1 have successfully developed by KASI. The capability of both imaging and spectroscopy is a unique function of the NISS. At first, it have realized the low-resolution spectroscopy (R~20) with a wide field of view of $2{\times}2deg$. in a wide near-infrared range from 0.95 to $2.5{\mu}m$. The major scientific mission is to study the cosmic star formation history in local and distant universe. It will also demonstrate the space technologies related to the infrared spectro-photometry in space. Now, the NISS is ready to launch in late 2018. After the launch, the NISS will be operated during 2 years. As an extension of the NISS, the SPEHREx (Spectro-Photometer for the History of the Universe Epoch of Reionization, and Ices Explorer) is the NASA MIDEX (Medium-class Explorer) mission proposed together with KASI (PI Institute: Caltech). It will perform the first all-sky infrared spectro-photometric survey to probe the origin of our Universe, to explore the origin and evolution of galaxies, and to explore whether planets around other stars could harbor life. Compared to the NISS, the SPHEREx is designed to have much more wide FoV of $3.5{\times}11.3deg$. as well as wide spectral range from 0.75 to $5.0{\mu}m$. After passing the first selection process, the SPHEREx is under the Phase-A study. The final selection will be made in the end of 2018. Here, we report the status of the NISS and SPHEREx missions.
The Cretaceous Gajok gold-silver deposit within porphyry granite is located nearby the Cretaceous Pungam basin at the northeastern area in Republic of Korea. The Gajok gold-silver deposit is distinctively composed of a multiple-complex hydrothermal veins with comb, crustiform chalcedony quartz and vug textures, implying it was formed relatively shallower depth. The hypogene open-space filling veins could be divided into 5 paragenetic sequences, increasing tendency of Ag-rich electrum and Ag-phases with increasing paragenetic time. Electrum with high gold contents (${\sim}50$ atomic % Au) as well as sphalerite with high FeS contents (${\sim}6$ mole % FeS) are representative ore minerals in the middle stage. The late stage is characterized by silver-phase such like native silver and/or argentite, coexisting with Ag-rich electrum ($10{\sim}30$ atomic % Au) and Fe-poor sphalerite (< 1 mole % FeS). The ore-forming fluids evolution started at relatively high temperature and salinity (${\sim}360^{\circ}C$, ${\sim}7\;wt.%$ eq. NaCl) and were evolved by dilution and mixing mechanisms on the basis of fluid inclusion study. The gold-silver mineralization proceeded from ore-forming fluids containing greater amounts of less-evolved meteoric waters(${\delta}^{18}O$; $-0.6{\sim}-6.7\;%o$). These results imply that gold-silver mineralization of the Cretaceous Gaiok deposit formed at shallow-crustal level and could be categorized into low-sulfidation epithermal type, related to Cretaceous igneous activity.
Recently there have been many investigations on the synthesis and properties of transition metal trialuminides based on Ti, Zr, V, Nb and Ta for use aircraft structure materials in an elevated environment. The effect of Zr additions on the formation behaviour of Al-Nb alloy was investigated. Al-1.3at.%(Nb+Zr) alloys with different Nb to Zr atomic 1:3, 1:1 and 3:1 were prepared by mechanical alloying(MA). The morphological changes and microstructural evolution of Al-Nb-Zr powders during MA were investigated by SEM, XRD and TEM. The intermetallic compound phase of $Nb_2Al\; and\; Al_3Zr_4$ was identified by X-ray diffraction. The intemetallic compound of $Al_3Zr,\; Al_3Nb$ and $Al_3Zr_4$ were formed by heat treatment for 1 hour at $500^{\circ}C$. The size of intermetallic compounds observed by TEM were approximately below 100nm, when they were heat treated after mechanically alloying for 30 hours.

Opening of fractures induced by shear dilation or normal deformation can be a significant source of fracture permeability change in fractured rock, which is important for the performance assessment of geological repositories for spent nuclear fuel. As the repository generates heat and later cools the fluid-carrying ability of the rocks becomes a dynamic variable during the lifespan of the repository. Heating causes expansion of the rock close to the repository and, at the same time, contraction close to the surface. During the cooling phase of the repository, the opposite takes place. Heating and cooling together with the, virgin stress can induce shear dilation of fractures and deformation zones and change the flow field around the repository. The objectives of this work are to examine the contribution of thermal stress to the shear slip of fracture in mid- and far-field around a KBS-3 type of repository and to investigate the effect of evolution of stress on the rock mass permeability. In the first part of this study, zones of fracture shear slip were examined by conducting a three-dimensional, thermo-mechanical analysis of a spent fuel repository model in the size of 2 km $\times$ 2 km $\times$ 800 m. Stress evolutions of importance for fracture shear slip are: (1) comparatively high horizontal compressive thermal stress at the repository level, (2) generation of vertical tensile thermal stress right above the repository, (3) horizontal tensile stress near the surface, which can induce tensile failure, and generation of shear stresses at the comers of the repository. In the second part of the study, fracture data from Forsmark, Sweden is used to establish fracture network models (DFN). Stress paths obtained from the thermo-mechanical analysis were used as boundary conditions in DFN-DEM (Discrete Element Method) analysis of six DFN models at the repository level. Increases of permeability up to a factor of four were observed during thermal loading history and shear dilation of fractures was not recovered after cooling of the repository. An understanding of the stress path and potential areas of slip induced shear dilation and related permeability changes during the lifetime of a repository for spent nuclear fuel is of utmost importance for analysing long-term safety. The result of this study will assist in identifying critical areas around a repository where fracture shear slip is likely to develop. The presentation also includes a brief introduction to the ongoing site investigation on two candidate sites for geological repository in Sweden.

We fabricated hydrogenated amorphous silicon(a-Si:H) 140 nm thick film on a $180\;nm-SiO_2/Si$ substrate with an inductively-coupled plasma chemical vapor deposition(ICP-CVD) equipment at $250^{\circ}C$. Moreover, 30 nm-Ni film was deposited with a thermal-evaporator sequently. Then the film stack was annealed to induce silicides by a rapid thermal annealer(RTA) at $200{\sim}500^{\circ}C$ in every $50^{\circ}C$ for 30 minuets. We employed a four-point tester, high resolution X-ray diffraction(HRXRD), field emission scanning electron microscope(FE-SEM), transmission electron microscope(TEM), and scanning probe microscope(SPM) in order to examine the sheet resistance, phase transformation, in-plane microstructure, cross-sectional microstructure evolution, and surface roughness, respectively. We confirmed that nano-thick high resistive $Ni_3Si$, mid-resistive $Ni_2Si$, and low resistive NiSi phases were stable at the temperature of <300, $350{\sim}450^{\circ}C$, and >$450^{\circ}C$, respectively. Through SPM analysis, we confirmed the surface roughness of nickel silicide was below 12 nm, which implied that it was superior over employing the glass and polymer substrates.
Using a first-principles total-energy method, we investigate structural and energy changes on Ag/Si(111)$\sqrt{3}{\times}\sqrt{3}$($\sqrt{3}-Ag$ hereafter) as the number of the additional Ag adatoms increases. The Ag coverage varies from 0.02 to 0.14 ML. Most Ag adatoms occupy the ST site, which is the center of small triangles of the substrate Ag layer that is composed of small and large triangles. One of the interesting adsorption features is that the adatoms immerse below the substrate layer. The total energy calculations show that the clusters become the most stable when the number of Ag atoms is three. This three-Ag cluster becomes the building block of the $\sqrt{21}{\times}\sqrt{21}$ phase that shows a large surface conductivity. The simulated STM images show that the adatoms look dark in filled-state images while bright in empty-state images. This suggests that the adatoms donate their charge to the substrate. The simulated STM images agree well with the experimental images.

The triad interactions have been known to be important only for shoaling waves or finite depth wind waves. In deep water, they are insignificant compared with the quadruplet interactions in respect to the evolution of wind waves due to energy transfer among the wave components. However, the triad interactions may be important even for deep water waves because they may closely be related to the wave steepness, which definitely affects wave breaking, drag of air flow over t.'Ie sea, or navigation of ships, especially during the early stage of the development of wind waves. This study reports a series of laboratory experiments, whose data are subjected to bispectral analyses to investigate the triad interactions of deep-water wind waves. It is found that the bicoherence at the spectral peak frequency and the wave steepness are almost directly proportional, indicating that the steep waves with peaked crests and flat troughs are resulted from the triad interactions. Both bicoherence and wave steepness increase with the wave age during the early stage of wave generation and then drop off as the waves grow old. It seems that the energy of the secondary spectral peak developed by the triad interactions during the early stage of wave generation is redistributed to the neighboring frequencies by the quadruplet interactions during the later stage.

We fabricated thermally evaporated 10 nm-Ni/(poly)Si, 10 nm-Ni/l nm-Ir/(poly)Si and 10 nm-Ni/l nm-Pt/(poly)Si films to investigate the thermal stability of nickel monosilicides at the elevated temperatures by rapid annealing them at the temperatures of $300{\sim}1200^{\circ}C$ for 40 seconds. Silicides of 50 nm-thick were formed on top of both the single crystal silicon actives and the polycrystalline silicon gates. A four-point tester was used to examine sheet resistance. A scanning electron microscope and field ion beam were employed for thickness and microstructure evolution characterization. An X-ray diffractometer and an Auger depth profiler were used for phase and composition analysis, respectively. Nickel silicides with platinum have no effect on widening the NiSi stabilization temperature region. Nickel silicides with iridium farmed on single crystal silicon showed a low resistance up to $1200^{\circ}C$ while the ones formed on polycrystalline silicon substrate showed low resistance up to $850^{\circ}C$. The grain boundary diffusion and agglomeration of silicides lowered the NiSi stable temperature with polycrystalline silicon substrates. Our result implies that our newly proposed Ir added NiSi process may widen the thermal process window for nano CMOS process.
