In this paper we proposed backward fuzzy Petri-net to diagnoses faults in power systems by using the time sequence information of protection system. As the complexity of power systems increases, especially in the case of multiple faults or incorrect operation of protective devices, fault diagnosis requires new and systematic methods to the reasoning process, which improves both its accuracy and its efficiency. The fuzzy Petri-net models of protection system are composed of the operating process of protective devices and the fault diagnosis process. Fault diagnosis model, which makes use of the nature of fuzzy Petri-net, is developed to overcome the drawbacks of methods that depend on operator knowledge. The proposed method can reduce processing time and increase accuracy when compared with the traditional methods. And also this method covers online processing of real-time data from SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition)

In general, other conventional researches propose the fuzzy Petri net-based fuzzy reasoning algorithms based on the exhaustive search algorithms. If it can allow the certainty factors representing in the fuzzy production rules to use as the heuristic information, then it can allow the reasoning of rule-based systems to perform fuzzy reasoning in more effective manner. This paper presents a fuzzy Petri net(FPN) model to represent the fuzzy production rules of a rule-based system. Based on the fuzzy Petri net model, a weighted fuzzy reasoning algorithm is proposed to Perform the fuzzy reasoning automatically, This algorithm is more effective and more intelligent reasoning than other reasoning methods because it can perform fuzzy reasoning using the certainty factors which are provided by domain experts as heuristic information

This paper presents an efficient method to evaluate the performance of an extended stochastic Petri net by simple algebraic operations. The reachability graph is derived from an extended stochastic Petri net, and then converted to a timed stochastic state machine, using a semi-Markov process. The n-th moments of the performance index are derived by algebraic manipulations with each of the n-th moments of transition time and transition probability. For the derivation, three reduction rules are introduced on the transition trajectories in a well-formed regular expression. Efficient computation algorithms are provided to automate the suggested method. The presented method provides a proficient means to derive both the numerical and the symbolic solutions for the performance of an extended stochastic Petri net by simple algebraic manipulations.
Simulation has been recognized as an invaluable tool in designing and analyzing manufacturing system. In this paper, a Petri net based simulation tool to facilitate the simulation project in manufacturing area is presented . To simulate a manufacturing system, three models are developed ; a Petrinet model, a monitor, and a token control function. While hardware objects in manufacturing systems are modeled by Petri net objects, cell level control functions are separately modeled and integrated with a Petri net model so that they resolve conflicts occuring in Petri net execution. The monitor is a model regarding the information flow between Petri nets and token control functions. The facilities of the developed tool are presented. Also, a modeling procedure with the tool is illustrated via a case study.
This paper presents a cooperative control method for multiple robots. This method is based on local sensors. The proposed method integrates all information obtained by local perception through a set of sensors and generates commands without logical conflicts in designing control logic. To control multiple robots effectively, a global control strategy is proposed. These methods are constructed by using AND/OR logic and transition firing sequences in Petri nets. To evaluate these methods, the object-searching task is introduced. This task is to search an object like a box by two robots and consists of two sub-tasks, i.e., a wall tracking task and a robot tracking task. Simulation results for the object-searching task and the wall tracking task are presented to show the effectiveness of the method.
As the complexity of power systems increases, especially in the case of multiple faults or incorrect operation of protective devices, fault diagnosis requires new and systematic methods to the reasoning process, which improves both its accuracy and its efficiency. Therefore this paper proposes a method of the modeling of protection systems and fault diagnosis in power systems using Fuzzy Petri Nets (FPN). The proposed method can reduce processing time and increase accuracy when compared with the traditional methods. And also this method can cover online processing of real-time data from SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition).
Synchronization Markup Language (SyncML) is a specification of a common data synchronization framework for synchronizing data on networked devices. SyncML is designed for use between mobile devices that are intermittently connected to a network and network services that are continuously available on the network. We have designed and developed a data synchronization system based on the SyncML protocol and evaluated the throughput of the system using the stochastic Petri nets package (SPNP) and analyzed the relationship between the arrival rate and the system resources. Using this model, we evaluate various performance measures in different situations, and we estimate the relationship between the arrival rate and the system resources. From the results, we can estimate the optimal amount of resources due to the arrival rate before deploying the developed system.

This paper presents an efficient solution for a class of forbidden state problems by introducing a cyclic timed controlled marked graphs (TCMG's), a special class of timed controlled Petri nets (TCPN's) as a model of a class of discrete event systems (DES's). The state feedback control is synthesized, which is maximally permissive while guaranteeing the forbidden states will be avoided. The practical applications or tire theoretical results for an automated guided vehicle (ACV) coordination problem in a flexible manufacturing facility is illustrated.
The complexity of safety critical systems of Nuclear Power Plant continues to increase rapidly due its transition from analog to digital systems. It has thus become progressively more imperative to model these systems prior to their implementation in order to meet the high performance, safety and reliability requirements. Timed Petri Nets (TPNs) have been widely used to model such systems for non-functional analysis. The paper presents a novel methodology for the analysis of the performance metrics using PN modeling. The paper uses the isomorphism property of the TPNs and the Markov chains for the performance analysis of the safety critical systems. The presented methodology has been validated on a Shutdown System of a Nuclear Power Plant.
SDL has been standardized to specify behavioral aspects of communication systems based on the formal description technique, and it is powerful and user friendly in the sense of supporting human communication and understanding, formal analysis andcomparison of behaviors, alternative implementations and design optimization, and its structural decomposition. However, SDL is not sufficient for an efficient handing of entrire system descriptions because the communication systems are generally very complex, and composed from the various interactions among sub-systems. Also, it is very difficult to explicitly verify dynamic views such as liveness and reachability. it leads the demands on analysis scheme to verify dynamic behaviros of specified systems. This paper presents modeling concepts of Petri Nets from SDL and transformation rules to Numerical Petri Nets to provide efficient technqiques for verification of dynamic behaviors, and proposes the reachability garaph that is able to trace all reachable states of a modeled system and reduce an information loss on the reachability tree.
