This paper presents the new maximum power point tracking(MPPT) control of the photovoltaic(PV) module integrated converter(MIC) system considering the shadow influence. The output characteristics of the solar cell is a nonlinear and affected by a temperature, the solar radiation and influence of a shadow. Particularly, MIC system is very sensitive to the shadow influence because the capacity is very small. In order to increase an output and efficiency of the solar power generation, the maximum power point(MPP) obeying control are necessary. Conventional perturbation and observation(PO) and Incremental conductance(IC) are the method finding MPP by the continued self-excitation vibration. The MPPT control is unable to be performed by rapid output change affected by the shadow. To solve this problem, the new control algorithm of the multi-level in which the step value changes by output change is presented. In case there are the solar radiation, a temperature and shadow influence, the presented algorithm treats and compares the conventional control algorithm and output error. In addition, the validity of the algorithm is proved. through the output error response characteristics.
Recent Integral Field Spectroscopy (IFS) studies revealed that not only late type galaxies (LTGs) but also early type galaxies (ETGs) have various kinds of kinematic rotation. (e.g. not clearly detectable rotation, disk-like rotation, kinematically distinct core (Cappellari 06)) Among the various studies about galactic kinematics, one of the most notable anomalies is the star-gas misalignment. The gas forms stars and stars release gas through mass-loss. In this process, their angular momentum is conserved. Therefore, kinematic decoupling between stars and gas can occur due to external gas inflow or perturbation of components. There are some possible origins of misalignment: cold gas from filaments, hot gas from outer halo, interaction or merging events with galaxies and environmental effects. Misalignment, the black box from mixture of internal and external gas, can be an important keyword for understanding further about galaxies' kinematics and external processes. Using both SAMI IFS data(Sydney-AAO Multi-object Integral field spectrograph Galaxy Survey, Croom+12) and Horizon-AGN simulation(Dubois+14), we examined misaligned galaxies properties and distribution. Because the simulation has lots of galaxies at various z, we were able to study history of formation, evolution and extinction of misalignment, which was hard to be done with observation only.
This paper proposes a novel maximum power point tracking (MPPT) system using a fuzzy logic control (FLC) algorithm for robust in-environment changing. The power available at the output of a photovoltaic (PV) cell continues to change with radiation and temperature because a solar cell exhibits nonlinear current-voltage characteristics. Therefore, the maximum power point (MPP) of PV cells varies with radiation and temperature. The MPPT methods are used in PV systems to make full utilization of the PV array output power, which depends on radiation and temperature. The conventional MPPT control methods such as constant voltage (CV), perturbation and observation (PO) and incremental conductance (IC) have been studied but these methods are problematic in that they fail to take into account the changing environment. The proposed FLC controller is based on the fuzzy control algorithm and facilitates robust control with the environmental changes. Also, the PV systems applied FLC controller is modeled by PSIM and the response characteristics of the FLC method according to environmental variations are analyzed through comparison with the performance of conventional methods. The validity of this controller is shown through response results.
A I-V and P-V characteristic of solar cell is changed to nonlinear by radiation and temperature. Therefore, to use efficiently PV system, operating point of PV system is must operate at maximum power point always. A performance of conventional the PO and the IC method is depend on the step size. So it has weakness which is must select optimal step size. Also, MPPT control applying PI and fuzzy control is not expected satisfactory performance, because of PI controller has fixed gain and fuzzy control has cumulative error by an integral calculus. Therefore, this paper proposes the VS-PO(Variable Stepsize - Perturbation & Observation) MPPT control that is automatically adjusted the step size according to the operating conditions. The VS-PO MPPT method proposed in this paper analyzes control characteristic about condition of radiation and compares with conventional methods. The validity of this paper proves using this results.
This paper proposes the hybrid proportional integral(HBPI) controller for maximum power point tracking(MPPT) control of photovoltaic system. The output characteristics of the solar cell are a nonlinear and affected by a temperature, the solar radiation and influence of a shadow. The MPPT control is a very important technique in order to increase an output and efficiency of the photovoltaic system. The conventional constant voltage(CV), perturbation and observation(PO) and incremental conductance(IC) are the method which finding maximum power point(MPP) by the continued self-excitation vibration, and uses the fixed step size. If the fixed step size is a large, the tracking speed of maximum power point is faster, but the tracking accuracy in the steady state is decreased. On the contrary, when the fixed step size is a small, the tracking accuracy is increased and the tracking speed is slower. Therefore, in order to solve these problems, this paper proposes HBPI controller that is adjusted gain of conventional PI control using fuzzy control, and the maximum power point tracks using this controller. The validity of the controller proposed in this paper proves through the results of the comparisons.
As the maximum power operating point (MPOP) of photovoltaic (PV) power generation systems changes with varying atmospheric conditions such as solar radiation and temperature, an important consideration in the design of efficient PV system is to track the MPOP correctly. Although the efficiency of these Maximum Power Point Tracking algorithms is usually high, it drops noticeably in case of rapidly changing atmospheric conditions. This paper describes common MPPT control algorithm: Constant Voltage Control, Perturbation and Observation(P&O), Incremental Conductance (IncCnd) and proposes a new MPPT algorithm based on P&O algorithm. The conception and control principles of the proposed MPPT method are explained in detail and its validity of the proposed method is verified through several simulated results. As it doesn't use digital signal processor, this MPPT method has the merits of both a cost efficiency and a simple control circuit design. Therefore, it is considered that the proposed MPPT method is proper to low power, low cost PV applications.
In this paper, the test results of medium-size(120 kW class) PV system which was installed in the Taeahn thermal power station of Korea Western Power Co., Ltd., were summarized for developing the practical technology to applicate high voltage grid connection PV system. The 120 kW photovoltaic system which was consisted of 1,300 modules, PCS, and 150 kVA transformer station has been operated since Aug. 05, 2005. For verifying the modeling results of PV system, the operation data was compared with modeling results which was executed commercial PSCAD/EMTD and Psim tools. An equivalent circuit model of a solar cell has been also used for solar array modeling. A series of parameters required for array modeling have been estimated from general specification data of a solar module. A PWM voltage source inverter(VIS) and its current control scheme have been analyzed by using P&O (perturbation and Observation) MPPT algorithms technique.
The performance of a photovoltaic array is affected by temperature, solar insolation, partial shading effect, and array configuration. Maximum power point tracking(MPPT) techniques are employed in photovoltaic systems to make full utilization of the PV array output power which depends on solar irradiation and ambient temperature. As much as MPPT is important in photovoltaic systems, many MPPT techniques have been developed. In this paper, several major existing MPPT methods are comparatively analyzed and novel hybrid MPPT algorithm is proposed. The proposed hybrid MPPT algorithm is developed in combination with traditional MPPT methods to complement each other for improving performance and mitigating partial shading effects. The proposed algorithm is implemented and validated using MATLAB/Simulink simulation tool.

In this paper, limit cycle flutter induced by Hopf bifurcation is studied with nonlinear system analysis approach and observed for the critical slowing down phenomenon. Considering an attractor of the dynamics of a system, when a small perturbation is applied to the system, the dynamics converge toward the attractor at some rate. The critical slowing down means that this recovery rate approaches zero as a parameter of the system varies and the size of the basin of attraction shrinks to nil. Consequently, in the pre-bifurcation regime, the recovery rates decrease as the system approaches the bifurcation. This phenomenon is one of the features used to forecast bifurcation before they actually occur. Therefore, studying the critical slowing down for limit cycle flutter behavior would have potential applicability for forecasting those types of flutter. Herein, modeling and nonlinear system analysis of the 2D airfoil with torsional nonlinearity have been discussed, followed by observation of the critical slowing down phenomenon.
