The purpose of this paper is to compare complexity and to assess flexibility of competing transponder architectures for satellite communication services. For performance comparison, we consider three channelization techniques: digital down converter(DDC) based on the use of the cascaded integrator-comb(CIC) filter, tuneable pipeline frequency transform(T-PFT) based on the tree-structure(TS) and variable oversampled complex-modulated filter banks(OCM-FB) based on the polyphase FFT(P-FFT). The comparison begins by presenting a basic architecture of each channelization method and includes analytical expressions of the number of multiplications as a computational complexity perspective. The analytical results show that DDC with CIC filter requires the heavy computational burden and the perfect flexibility. T-PFT based on the TS provides the almost perfect flexibility with the low complexity over DDC with the CIC filter for a large number of sub-channels. OCM-FB based on the P-FFT shows the high flexibility and the best computational complexity performance compared with other approaches.

A process of 3-D particle image velocimetry, called here, as '3-D stereo PIV' was developed for the measurement of a section field of 3-D complex flows. The present method includes modeling of camera by a calibrator based on the homogeneous coordinate system, transfromation of oblique-angled image to transformed image, identification of 2-D velocity vectors by 2-D cross-correlation equation, stereo matching of 2-D velocity vectors of two cameras, accurate calculation of 3-D velocity vectors by homogeneous coordinate system and finally 3-D animation as the post processing. In principle, as two frame images only are necessary for the single instantaneous analysis of a section field of 3-D flow, more effective vectors are obtainable contrary to the previous multi-frame vector algorithm. An experimental system was also used for the application of the proposed method. Three analog CCD cameras and an Argon-Ion Laser(300mW) for illumination were adopted to capture the wake flow behind a bluff obstacle.

When information professionals deal with other disciplines in the course of digital humanities projects, they often assume that they are dealing with 'needful users' who have an 'information gap' to fill. This paper argues that the traditional view that information/knowledge is transferred from an information specialist donor to a domain specialist receiver is no longer appropriate in the digital humanities context, where the gap-and-search (or gap-and-filler) approach to information has given way to more direct, explorative engagement with information. The paper asks whether information science and the practising profession are ready for this paradigm shift and examines information science conservatism in two common collaboration scenarios, library support and digital development. It is shown that information science theory still assumes a traditional donor role in both scenarios. How information scientists deal with conservatism in practice is discussed in the example of the Prior project, in which the information science team exerted an ambiguous, hybrid approach with both conservative and non-conservative elements. Finally, two rather hypothetical answers are offered to the question of how information professionals should approach scholarly collaboration in the digital humanities context, where users have ceased to be supplicants. From a purely pragmatic perspective, information scientists need to shift their focus from information needs to research practices and the implications of these practices for digital information systems. More fundamentally, the emergence of digital humanities challenges information professionals to transform information systems designed for searching into digital objects that can be explored more freely by the digital humanities community.

The smart city is one of the most promising, prominent, and challenging applications of the Internet of Things (IoT). Smart cities rely on everything connected to each other. This in turn depends heavily on technology. Technology literacy is essential to transform a city into a smart, connected, sustainable, and resilient city where information is not only available but can also be found. The smart city vision combines emerging technologies such as edge computing, blockchain, artificial intelligence, etc. to create a sustainable ecosystem by dramatically reducing latency, bandwidth usage, and power consumption of smart devices running various applications. In this research, we present a comprehensive survey of emerging technologies for a sustainable smart city network. We discuss the requirements and challenges for a sustainable network and the role of heterogeneous integrated technologies in providing smart city solutions. We also discuss different network architectures from a security perspective to create an ecosystem. Finally, we discuss the open issues and challenges of the smart city network and provide suitable recommendations to resolve them.
Sports scene is characterized by large amount of global motion due to pan and zoom of camera motion, and includes many small objects moving independently. Some short period of sports games is thrilling to televiewers, and important to producers. At the same time that kinds of scenes exhibit exceptionally dynamic motions and it is very difficult to analyze the motions with conventional algorithms. In this thesis, several algorithms are proposed for global motion analysis on these dynamic scenes. It is shown that proposed algorithms worked well for motion compensation and panorama synthesis. When cascading the inter frame motions, accumulated errors are unavoidable. In order to minimize these errors, interpolation method of motion vectors is introduced. Affined transform or perspective projection transform is regarded as a square matrix, which can be factorized into small amount of motion vectors. To solve factorization problem, we preposed the adaptation of Newton Raphson method into vector and matrix form, which is also computationally efficient. Combining multi frame motion estimation and the corresponding interpolation in hierarchical manner enhancement algorithm of motion parameters is proposed, which is suitable for motion compensation and panorama synthesis. The proposed algorithms are suitable for special effect rendering for broadcast system, video indexing, tracking in complex scenes, and other fields requiring global motion estimation.
The major purpose of this paper is to analyze the evolution of the presidential system in South Korea during the past three decades ever since the country's democratization in 1987 from the comparative institutional perspective. As imperial presidentialism during the so-called three Kim's era(1987-2003) disappeared right after the political retirement of the three Kims in 2003, then president-centered presidentialism emerged during the post-three Kim's era, since the country's recent three presidents possessed their relatively low-level of partisan power in terms of their control of National Assemblies and their respective presidents' parties during their presidencies. South Korea has now a strong possibility to transform the current president-centered presidentialism into the American-style separatist presidential system in the near future, since the country's National Assembly has continuously been making its efforts to function as an effective governing body being compatible with the American Congress. In addition, the country's judiciary branch has effectively been playing a political role like the US supreme court ever since the country's democratization in 1987. It is also emphasized that South Korea's civic society is currently playing as a guardian of democracy through its effective and responsive political participations in many public sectors for promoting civic liberties, public welfare, and other democratic values. South Korea now needs to carry out constitutional revisions, political reforms of legislative system, party system, and electoral system as well as correct some contradictory political understandings and habits in a way to transform the current president-centered presidentialism into American-style separatist presidential system in the near future.
This study attempts to examine the relationships between the major market-based media and the government after closing military regime era, 1961-1987. After the military regime was collapsed, while the mass media in Korea obtained independence and autonomy from government, they have been confronted with the terrible competition not so much comparatively as before. The watchdog role in the traditional liberalism, which is regarded as normative relationship between the media and the government would be transformed in accordance with the market condition and the maturity of democracy. Thus, the watchdog metaphor has been variously deviated in rower-centered society; lap dog, guard dog, attack dog. liberalists argue that the primary democratic role of the media is to art as a public watchdog overseeing the state. Social democrats, however, criticize them as simplistic conception which could be only applied to the government. They argue that the media should be seen as a source of redress against the abuse of all forms of power over others; the home, the economy, and the civil society. The lap dog view is that the media is overwhelmingly dependent on the established power structure contrary to the watchdog. While the guard dog perspective is a means to preserve the power structure alarming with playing 'conflict role', the attack do8 aims to the private interest of the media in intruding into the politics. The attack dog perspective by T. Patterson could be composed of the interpretive style of report, the game schema report over the policy schema in the election, and the negativism against politics and government. The market-dominant press has been likely to transform from lap-guard dog into attack-guard dog. In Roh Tae Woo government(1988-1992), while the press was a lessened lap-guard dog before three parties merger in 1990, after merger the press had been transformed as the reinforced lap-guard dog because this merger entailed joint, party-to-party negotiations, and the formation of the new party preceded by dissolution of the ruling blot. In the early stage of Kim Young Sam government(1993-1997), the press has kept in pace with the reform movement drive-forced by the government. However, the press withdrew the support of Kim's reform in reaching the level of threat to ruling bloc. The press coalesced only circumstantially with government and was interested in preserving some margin of independence. The failure of Kim's reform proved the political muscle of the press in post-autho-ritarianism. In the middle stage of Kim Dae Jung government (1998-) that resulted in the shift of power structure as once-opposition party leader, the stress has been a manifested attack-guard dog owing to the anti-cold war policy, the realignment policy of power, and the minority-base of Kim's government. The press has endeavored to hold political communication within limits relatively less threatening to the established order.
The railway abrasion measurement system have to satisfy two conditions to increase the measurement accuracy as follows. The laser region which is projected on the rail have to be extracted without the geometrical distortion. The mapping of the acquired laser region data on the rail profile have to be processed exactly. But, the conventional railway abrasion measurement system is deeply effected by the foreign substance( dust, rainwater, and so on ) on the railway or the sensitive response characteristic of the laser to the external measurement circumstance, and then the measurement errors arise from above factors. When the laser region is projected on the rail extracts from the acquired image, the interference of the light with the same frequency as the laser system occurs the serious problems. In the process of the mapping between the railway profile and the extracted laser region, the measurement accuracy is very highly effected by the geometrical distortion and the abnormal variation. In this Paper, we propose the novel method to increase the accuracy of the railway abrasion measurement dramatically. we designed and manufactured the high precision and fast image processing board with DSP Core and FPGA to measure the railway abrasion. The image processing board has the capability that the image of 1024X1280 from camera can be processed with the speed of 480 frame/sec. And, we apply the image processing algorithm base on the wavelet to extract the laser region is projected on the rail exactly. Finally, we developed high precision railway abrasion measurement system with the error range less than +/-0.5mm by which 2D image data is covered 3D data and mapped on the rail profile using the camera model and the perspective transform.
This study is a study on the methodology of establishing an innovation strategy centering on the customer experience, which is essential in order to transform the existing collection and preservation-centered mutual aid company service into a visitor-centered service. To this end, we conducted literature research on environmental changes in the funeral industry from the perspective of service science and the significance and value of customer experiences within them, good customer experiences and bad customer experiences from the perspective of customer experience management. A study was conducted to present and prove a specific model. The customer experience-oriented innovation strategy of the funeral industry means to search for various alternatives that can reach the target state from the present state, focusing on the customer, and select the most appropriate transformation plan among them. As an effect of application, it was found that it is a source of differentiation by generating positive emotions to customers, and that customer experience data is highly helpful in making important decisions for the actual resource input of the parent company. This innovation model was presented, and its value was firstly proved by analyzing the difference from the existing evaluation method. Finally, as a result of analyzing the causal relationship through regression analysis using the customer experience measurement procedure, customer experience diagnosis/evaluation, customer experience innovation strategy, and cooperative company's performance as variables, the relationship proved to be significant.

Driver's view has blind spot of automobile surroundings due to physical components of automobile architecture. Obstacles on blind spot are the cause of car destruction and car accidents. Cars which produced in recent have obstacle detection sensors and rear view cameras which provide information of obstacles on the blind sopt, and have also AVM(Around View Monitoring) which provides automobile surroundings for driver's safe driving. During a low-speed travel while parking or moving in a narrow street, a driver get help for safe driving by taking information of automobile surroundings using the above-mentioned devices. In this paper, we present a design and implementation of a 4-sided monitoring (4SM) system, which helps a driver see an integrated view of a vehicle's perimeter at a glance, using a car PC connected to four cameras installed on the front, rear, left, and right sides.
