At the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, it was identified a declining tendency of overall rates of academic procrastination and at the same time increase in the number of carriers of mid and high levels of academic procrastination. The decline in the general rates of academic procrastination at the beginning of 2021 testifies to the adaptation processes experienced by students to the conditions of distance learning. It was documented that students' academic procrastination is accompanied by a steady negative emotional tension. During the transition to distance learning, the intensity of students' learning activity has increased, which altogether causes stress as one of the main reasons for the academic procrastination among future psychologists. The study identified a risk of academic procrastination manifestation among students for their mental health, which provides a basis for developing and testing a program to prevent the phenomenon of academic procrastination among degree-seeking students.

  • Despite the huge potential of the practical application of emotion recognition technologies, the enhancement of the technologies still remains a challenge mainly due to the difficulty of recognizing emotion. Although not perfect, human emotions can be recognized through human images and sounds. Emotion recognition technologies have been researched by extensive studies that include image-based recognition studies, sound-based studies, and both image and sound-based studies. Studies on emotion recognition through facial expression detection are especially effective as emotions are primarily expressed in human face. However, differences in user environment and their familiarity with the technologies may cause significant disparities and errors. In order to enhance the accuracy of real-time emotion recognition, it is crucial to note a mechanism of understanding and analyzing users' personality traits that contribute to the improvement of emotion recognition. This study focuses on analyzing users' personality traits and its application in the emotion recognition system to reduce errors in emotion recognition through facial expression detection and improve the accuracy of the results. In particular, the study offers a practical solution to users with subtle facial expressions or low degree of emotion expression by providing an enhanced emotion recognition function.

  • In order to observe from a cross-cultural point of view, the temperament and character of German and Korean adolescents were compared. The 715 German subjects aged 12-18(M=14.70, SD=1.80) and 1411 Korean subjects of the same age(M=15.18, SD=1.69) were assessed through JTCI 12-18 as to whether there exist differences in temperament and character between the two groups. According to the outcomes of the t-test, the German and Korean adolescents show significant differences in all 6 main scales of temperament and character, with only one exception in the character scale, that of 'self-transcendence.' If we analyze the effect size, because even small differences in great samples becomes statistically significant differences, the significant outcomes appeared only in two scales, one of temperament(Harm Avoidance) and the other of character(Self-Directedness): Korean subjects showed a higher tendency of Harm Avoidance related to inhibitions and anxiety and a lower tendency of Self-Directedness, meaning self-acceptance, purposefulness etc. Sex-differences according to the effect size showed only on the scale of Reward Dependence, which was the same in both samples. The outcomes are discussed according to the concepts of individualism and collectivism which are used to divide the Western and Asian cultures. It is also suggested to view these outcomes in the education-political and social bases of each country.

  • This study analyzes the variable consumer characteristics that influence the intention to use online product reviews. In online e-commerce, where purchases take place without consumers seeing the products in person, the product reviews left by other consumers who have already purchased the product are believed to be valuable information. However, when different consumers read the same product review, their responses to it may vary. This study analyzes the characteristics of consumers who utilize product reviews for their purchases. Consumer characteristics are categorized into personal information, personality, purchasing tendency, and experience related to product reviews. These factors are examined to see if they have direct or indirect effects on a consumer's intention to use product reviews when making online purchases. We surveyed a total of 240 consumers who had experience using e-commerce and knew about online product reviews. Once the data was collected, path analysis was conducted using the statistics tool AMOS. The study results reveal that consumers who are female, extroverted, and have higher price sensitivity think that product reviews left by others are useful, and that this "perceived usefulness" has a positive effect on the intention to use product reviews for making online purchasing decisions. In addition, consumers who are agreeable to others, have high brand sensitivity, and who have left numerous reviews themselves demonstrated the tendency to trust reviews left by others more. Thus, we conclude that this "perceived reliability" makes it more likely that a consumer will use product reviews when making online purchasing decisions. Future research can be done to develop this study further by analyzing whether providing online product reviews corresponding to the personal characteristics of consumers enhances the effect of product reviews on online purchasing decisions.

We administered self-report questionnaires to 334(163 male, 171 female) undergraduate students. Path analysis conducted using structural equation modeling. Path analysis indicated that the overall model fitted the data well. Analysis showed that paranoid tendency and social isolation sequentially mediated relationship between covert narcissism and TKS. The finding suggest that we could focus on covert narcissistic personality, paranoid cognitive process, and behavioral social isolation to understand and intervene TKS.

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the categories and contents of the cognitive inferences of both men and women regarding the style and color of clothing. The study was conducted by survey method, using open-ended questions. The data were collected from 420 male/female university students and analyzed by the qualitative method. The main results are as follows: First, cognitive inferences are formed from stereotypes that fall into six categories--appearance, personality, background, behavior, situation, and reaction. Second, there are some differentiations in these stereotypes depending on clothing style and color. Specifically, the amount of exposure represented in the clothing style is a salient features, one that shows situational attribution. Third, the strength of stereotype differs depending on the sex of perceivers: women indicate a stronger tendency to stereotype-based on clothing-than do men. In conclusion, each of cognitive inferences occurs between wearer and the actual perceiver. Stereotypes are important determining factors fDr making cognitive inferences.
