This paper describes a fast image labeling algorithm for the feature extraction of connected components. Labeling the connected regions of a digitized image is a fundamental computation in image analysis and machine vision, with a large number of application that can be found in various literature. This algorithm is designed for the surface defect inspection of Cold Mill Strip. The labeling algorithm permits to separate all of the connected components appearing on the Cold Mill Strip.

A simple relation exists between electronegativities of cations and their oxidation states and ionic radii. An empirical law is proposed: X = 0.274 z-0.15 z r - 0.01 r+1+${\alpha}$, z being oxidation number, r ionic radius in $\AA$ and ${\alpha}$ a term related to the atomic number. this relation permits to calculate an electronegativity scale covering a large set of electronic and crystallographic situations. An application to the calculation of acid strengths of cations is presented.

A preconditioned numerical method for gas-liquid two-phase flows is applied to solve cavitating flow. The present method employs a finite-difference dual time-stepping integration procedure and the MUSCLTVD scheme. A homogeneous equilibrium cavitation model is used. The present density-based numerical method permits simple treatment of the whole gas-liquid two-phase flow field, including wave propagation, large density changes and incompressible flow characteristics at low Mach number. Some internal flows such as convergent-divergent nozzles are computed using this method. Comparisons of predicted and experimental results are provided and discussed.

최근의 생산환경 변화에 따라 기업은 경쟁력 강화 및 매출 신장을 목적으로 고객의 구매비용에 대하여 일정기간 외상을 허용하고 있으며, 또한 경쟁기업간에 제품 수요 증대를 통한 경쟁우위를 위하여 고객의 구매비용에 따라 차별적으로 신용기간이 적용되는 경우를 흔히 볼 수있다. 본 연구는 이와 같이 구매비용에 따라 차둥적으로 신용기간이 허용되는 상황에 대한 재고모형을 분석하였고, 최적재고정책 결정을 위한 해법을 개발하였다.

We introduce a code called tlc_s05, to fit sparsely sampled JHK band Cepheid light curve data with template light curves to derive the mean magnitude. A brief description of the code is provided here. We tested the performance of the code in deriving the mean JHK band magnitudes using simulations, and we found that it is better to observe more than four evenly spaced data points per light curve, which permits tlc_s05 to derive accurate mean magnitudes for Cepheid JHK band light curves.

It is expected to confront numerous technological advancements in ter railroad technology with an opening of state-of-art Kyung-Bu High Speed Railroad that permits traveling speed in excess of 300 Km/hr. Expansions of railroad facility such as revival of silk railroad in Eurasia due to the connection of South-North Korea and modernization of rolling stock and ancillary equipment have certainly contributed to the technological development of Korean Railroad. Such technological advancements will provide of opportunities to participate in foreign projects that have been offered in past years. Thus, a comprehensive plan and R＆D policy is necessary to continuously raise and upgrade national competitiveness in the railroad industry.

The computer users who desire the comprehensive use of an advanced network system which permits to link the diversified types of computer from one to others, still tend to increase in number. A partial ordering is developed here among conditionally positive quadrant dependent (CPQD) bivariate random vectors. This permits us to measure the degree of CPQD-ness and to compare pairs of CPQD random vectors. Some properties and closure under certain statistical operations are derived.

At the present time in Russia proper programs of increasing museums fire safety are taking into account their specific character and means are not developed. But the problem of control for fire safety of museums should be solved. In connection with it approximate models for estimation el Level ol Fire Safety are developed on the basis of expert's assessment. Proposed approach permits to choose rational variants of fire safety system for specific museum.
