  • As there has been growing interests in PHR-based personalized health management project, various institutions recently explore safe methods of recording personal medical and health information. In particular, innovative medical solution can be realized when medical researchers and medical service institutes can generally get access to patient data. As EMR data is extremely sensitive, there has been no progress in clinical information exchange. Moreover, patients cannot get access to their own health data and exchange it with researchers or service institutions. It can be operated in terms of technology, yet policy environment are affected by state laws as well as Privacy and Security Policy. Blockchain technology-independent, in transaction, and under test-is introduced in the medical industry in order to settle these problems. In other words, medical organizations can grant preliminary approval on patient information exchange by using the safely encrypted and distributed Blockchain ledger and can be managed independently and completely by individuals. More apparently, medical researchers can gain access to information, thereby contributing to the scientific advance in rare diseases or minor groups in the world. In this paper, we focused on how to manage personal medical information and its protective use and proposes medical treatment exchange system for patients based on a permissioned Blockchain network for the safe PHR operation. Trusted Model for Sharing Medical Data (TMSMD), that is proposed model, is based on exchanging information as patients rely on hospitals as well as among hospitals. And introduce medical treatment exchange system for patients based on a permissioned Blockchain network. This system is a model that encrypts and records patients' medical information by using this permissioned Blockchain and further enhances the security due to its restricted counterfeit. This provides service to share medical information uploaded on the permissioned Blockchain to approved users through role-based access control. In addition, this paper presents methods with smart contracts if medical institutions request patient information complying with domestic laws by using the distributed Blockchain ledger and eventually granting preliminary approval for sharing information. This service will provide an independent information transaction and the Blockchain technology under test will be adopted in the medical industry.

  • Blockchain can enhance data transparency and security through decentralized data management that is out of the centralized system. permissioned blockchain of the blockchain platform, only trust-based authorized nodes can participate in the distributed network. Considering the characteristics of the permissioned blockchain, it is necessary to consider the network communication speed, transaction finality agreement, and stability as a condition for selecting the consensus algorithm. The consensus algorithms of the permissioned blockchain environment are diverse such as PoA, PBFT, Raft, etc., but there are no various evaluation factors for selecting consensus algorithms. In this paper, various performance evaluation factors are proposed to analyze the characteristics of each consensus algorithm of the permissioned blockchain and to select an efficient consensus algorithm considering the characteristics of the user environment that composes the network. The proposed performance evaluation factor can consider the network speed, stability, and consensus of the finality agreement between nodes under the premise of trust. Through this, a more efficient blockchain network environment can be constructed.

  • Recently, the need for health information management platforms has been increasing for efficient medical and IT technology research. However, health information is requiring security management by law. When permissioned blockchain technology is used to manage health information, the integrity is provided because only the authenticated users participate in bock generation. However, if the blockchain server is attacked, it is difficult to provide security because user authentication, block generation, and block verification are all performed on the blockchain server. In this paper, therefore, we propose a Health Information Management Server, which uses a permissioned blockchain algorithm and asymmetric cryptography. Health information is managed as a blockchain transaction to maintain the integrity, and the actual data are encrypted with an asymmetric key. Since using a private key kept in the institute local environment, the data confidentiality is maintained, even if the server is attacked. 1,000 transactions were requested, as a result, it was found that the server's average response time was 6,140ms, and the average turnaround time of bock generation was 368ms, which were excellent compared to those of conventional technology. This paper is that a model was proposed to overcome the limitations of permissioned blockchains.

  • Purpose This study aims to propose a blockchain-based platform that can guarantee enhanced trustworthiness in corporate ESG efforts, demanded by global ESG initiatives such as GRI and TCFD. Blockchain technology, recognized for its transparency and data immutability, can contribute to building trust in ESG disclosures, meeting the data transparency verification needs required by these initiatives. This research also explores the use of NFTs representing unique ESG efforts by companies, helping them in organizing and sharing ESG information with investors and consumers. Design/methodology/approach This study utilizes Hyperledger Fabric, a permissioned blockchain known for its enhanced transparency, scalability, and suitability for business transactions, to develop a blockchain platform for managing and disclosing ESG information assets in a trustworthy manner. Furthermore, it introduces the concept of ESG NFTs as a more reliable method for conveying ESG information to stakeholders, where ESG NFTs undergo verification process by third-party authenticators and evaluation by independent evaluators for credibility of ESG disclosure. Findings The use of NFTs, which has been predominantly intended for market trading in public blockchain, offers a credible means of disseminating corporate ESG status and evaluations in a permissioned blockchain, better fit for business transactions. By representing information assets as NFTs, which are tamper-proof and establish clear ownership, the proposed platform enables effective management of ESG-related information assets.

  • The care and quality provided to service users depend heavily on the documentation of medication administration. The results of medication management will be greatly impacted by the Medication Data Management (MDM) sheets, which will be examined during audits. Along with this impact, registered hospitals, care facilities, and residential homes will all be inspected by the healthcare industry. In order to deploy MDM sheets, it is proposed to create a blockchain prototype, or more specifically, to develop a blockchain-based Electronic Health Records (EHR) application. Confidentiality and confidence with the auditors are provided by the usage of permissioned blockchain technology (e.g., Care Quality Commission - CQC). Results from testing the prototype in two scenarios are positive. According to the findings, the use of EHR with permissioned blockchain can result in reminders being sent to medical practitioners as well as other effects.

  • This paper deals with the implementation of electronic voting system using permissioned block chain technology. Cases studies have recently been under way in many industrial areas to review the application of the blockchain based electronic voting system. The existing electronic voting system was easily exposed by hacking because of its centralized characteristics, making it difficult to ensure the reliability and transparency of the voting system itself. In this study, we proposed key considerations and concepts to ensure the reliability and transparency of voters and voting stakeholder by utilizing a hyperledger fabric which is nowadays widely used as a permissioned blockchain.

  • In this paper, we present a healthcare data integration management and sharing platform based on a permissioned blockchain-based system called the Hyperledger fabric. The Hyperledger fabric allows patients to easily access their data, share the data with agencies that need it, and also reward participants. The healthcare data is stored in the blockchain by a de-identification process. Privacy is protected by setting detailed access rights to the stored data. The proposed model provides higher security than other models using a public blockchain. This study confirms that patient data can be stored more securely, by comparing the data stored in the blockchain with that from existing information storage methods.

  • A Blockchain is a type of distributed ledger system that consists of a large number of nodes. A block is a container in which transactions are included, and the transactions can be recorded in chronological order by chaining blocks. To work properly, it is essential that the nodes in the Blockchain system have the same image of the chained-blocks. Blockchain systems use various types of consensus algorithms to achieve the same states among the nodes, and the fundamental elements in these algorithms are proof of work and the main chain selection policy, particularly in permissionless Blockchain systems. However, consensus algorithms for permissioned Blockchain systems can be completely different from those of permissionless blockchain systems. In this paper, we overview the basic working mechanism of consensus algorithms, and briefly introduce a few that are currently being applied.

  • e-Governance is a medium to offer various services to citizens through a web portal, that exists in many countries nowadays. The existing e-Governance technology is a vast, centrally managed database and a set of applications that connect to it via web interfaces. Despite the modernisation of services, it remains with the lack of transparency. Thus, the existing infrastructure of e-Governance paves the way for corrupt practises by the bureaucrats. e-Governance needs a powerful underlying technology which doesn't provide any way to allow tampering of the record and which in turn eliminates corruption. In this paper, we took land registration as a use-case for building e-Governance by keeping Blockchain as an underlying technology, to put off the corrupt practices and to bring transparency. Once transactions in land registration added to the Blockchain, it is immutable as it is cryptographically secured. Besides, the blockchain technology is secured as the ledger is distributed over the network. If a hacker wants to modify the ledger, he needs to hack every node in the blockchain network. Hyperledger Fabric, a permissioned Blockchain adopted for implementation and Hyperledger Caliper for performance analysis with these evaluation metrics such as throughput, latency and execution time.

  • Recently, user-driven privacy control technology, such as distributed ID management, has been gaining attention. However, the existing blockchain-based access control studies have not provided a sufficient level of privacy control method to users. This paper proposes a method that combines permissioned blockchain technology and a recent privacy control standard. To allow users to participate in privacy control, a token-based user access control service that conforms to the UMA2 standard was applied to the blockchain dApp. By combining the blockchain and UMA2, the proposed method provides a user-centered privacy control function that the existing blockchain could not provide. In addition, we solved the problem of privacy, security, and availability of entities, which are the disadvantages of UMA2.
