벤처기술평가와 경영성과의 인과관계에 관한 탐색연구 (An Exploratory Study on the Causal-effect Relationship between Valuation and Performance in Ventures)

  • The Purpose of this study is to prove empirically the relationship between ventures' technology valuation and performance, while considering the uniqueness of Korean firms. We use technology valuation index, marketability valuation index, business valuation index as ex-ante independent variables, use firm's performance(sales, asset, operating income ratio, net income ratio etc) as ex-post dependent variables. Parametric analysis such as Paired T-test, ANOVA are applied in this paper. The results of Empirical analysis is summarized as follows. Firstly, operating income ratio and net income ratio are different in portfolios classified by technology valuation index. Secondly, the growth rate of operating income is different in portfolios classified by technology valuation index. Finally, this study has shown that technology valuation index has possibility which it use the predictive variables of ventures' performances.

Measurement of Public Research Outcomes: A Technology Valuation Method

  • This article proposes a logic model for assessing the performance of the outcome of public research as a technology valuation method. It consists of two parts and eight steps. The first part is a scoring system and the second part is a validation process of the performance index derived from scoring by valuation method. The scoring in the first part generally requires a focus group method to find out the value drivers and make an evaluation table. The reason why we call it the technology valuation method is that the first part is derived from the simple evaluation of technology value using checklists for value drive. The second part is the regular technology valuation process. The model is designed for the measurement of unquantifiable outcome. Is knowledge or scientific outcome comparable to the measured outcome? If possible, how big is the unquantifiable outcome? This model is based on financial valuation techniques with clear or acceptable market data. Therefore, it cannot work solely for unquantifiable outcomes without comparable measurable outcomes, unlike economic valuation.

  • It is needed to evaluate information systems actively which has already developed to improve future performance of the organization and foster the activation of information system. The introduction or development of information system also can bring about a organizational success. To measure exactly the organizational performance of information systems, it is needed to develop a new valuation model for a specific information system from a objective pint of view, as well as to equip a standard methodology using BSC measurement. The information system valuation from a objective point of view is of importance as the basic information for the decision to obtain information system. This paper takes aim at investigating a new information system valuation model and developing a information system valuation system using case-based reasoning for predicting currency value of information system in each organization. A new information system valuation system is developed as a web-enabling base. Using this, users are able to estimate the value of specific information system on a real time efficiently.

기술평가지표와 기업성과의 관계비교분석 -초기중소벤처와 성장중소벤처- (The Comparative Study of the relationship between Technology Valuation Index and performance in Ventures)

  • The objective of the study is to verify the relationship between technology valuation indexes and corporate's performance in ventures by business operating periods. The result of the study is expected to be useful in loan evaluation, investment decision, internal management decision making and business improvement. The results of study is as follows. First, in early stage ventures, we find that three major valuation index(technology feasibility, economic efficiency, productivity) are significant ex-ante variables which are discriminating between firms' going concern and firms' failure. Second, in growth stage ventures, we find that three major valuation index(business feasibility, general marketability, technology marketability) are significant ex-ante variables which are discriminating between firms' going concern and firms' failure. Third, in early stage ventures, we find that at least thirty-eight minor valuation index elements are significant ex-ante variables which are discriminating between firms' going concern and firms' failure and in growth stage ventures, thirty-one minor valuation index elements are significant in various analysis' results.

기술경영을 위한 기술가치 평가모형 (The Technology Valuation Model for Technology of Management)

  • Recently, the technology is getting to be the most important factor for companies, as the industry is changing fast. The uncertainty and complexity of technology valuation arc higher so that the technology concentrated companies need more developed and high performance technology. This paper reviews the methods of technology valuation for five categories that have been developed by valuation researchers, (1) research of technology diffusion and acceptance model, (2) research of technology valuation, (3) research of technology import and export factor, (4) research of technology valuation model, (5) research of technology transfer and market. And we propose a new technology valuation model using need(market), seed(technology) and deeds(management) factor by cross impact matrix. This model gives us the reference negotiation range for deciding the amount of royalty. I hope this paper induces more research on this field of technology valuation.

  • Build-operate-transfer (BOT) projects are privatized infrastructure undertakings that face long-term investment risks and uncertainties. To ensure these projects can be completed on time and operated according to performance specifications, governments usually require BOT concessionaires to furnish performance bonds as a security. However, in order to attract investment, governments often provide abandonment rights for concessionaires to deal with investment risks and uncertainties. In the context of real options, these abandonment rights will increase project value, but the furnish of performance bonds will reduce this value. Currently in the BOT context, there is no real option model that can handle explicitly the impact of performance bonds on project value. In this paper, a real option valuation model is derived to deal with this important issue. The Taiwan high-speed rail project is used as a case study to show the applicability of the proposed model.

Public Building Value Evaluation Using Contingent Valuation Method Based on Market Value Estimation

  • Building deterioration reflects the degradation of basic building performance including structural performance, energy performance, durability, and safety, and it also includes perceived deterioration, which considers a user-based perspective. More than 50% of the existing buildings in Korea are over 15 years old and public buildings compose 2.5% of all buildings domestically. Therefore, there are several different problems, such as poor energy efficiency, structural performance, and safety. To address the challenges of increasing stock in deteriorated buildings, it is necessary to make decisions about reconstruction or renovation. In this study, we propose a new method to evaluate public building value with a contingent valuation method (CVM). By estimating willing-to-pay (WTP) from users of private buildings in similar situation with the public building, it is possible to compare market prices and calculate a correction factor to adjust the WTP data. Finally, we apply the correction factor to the WTP of a public building and estimate market price, willingness to pay (WTP).   • In case of the Grand Performance Hall, in view of its distinctiveness, since various Assembly Activity as well as Lecture together with the use for Music are important besides the purpose of Performance itself, the consideration with regard to the sound environment which enables to minimize the acoustic defect has appeared on the stage as an essential factor. On this viewpoint, this Study has attempted to examine the acoustic satisfaction degree and its response regarding to the grand performance hall by means of the measurement and valuation about the psychological volume of human-being using the auditory-evoked technology that possible to experience the Virtual Sound Field at the designing stage, after practice of the optimized acoustic design for the object of the grand performance hall on the step of construction. As the result of auditory-evocation, it was known that the valuation about the acoustic performance after reformation has been improved affirmatively than before reformation. It is considered that such outcome of the study could be utilized as the useful material that enables to improve the curtailment effect of construction cost and the acoustic performance, by means of the presupposition control about the acoustic problem from the stage of design, for the occasion when the similar Performance Hall is planning to build, hereafter.

레스토랑 유형에 따른 레스토랑 서비스 인카운터 품질 평가 수준, 감정적 반응, 고객 만족 및 서비스 충성도 차이 분석 (The Analysis of the Differences of Evaluation Level of Service Encounter Quality, Emotional Responses, Customer Satisfaction and Service Loyalty by Types of Restaurants)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the differences of cognitive responses, emotional responses, customer satisfaction, and service loyalty about service encounter quality by types of restaurants and to analyse emotional responses, customer satisfaction, and service loyalty in accordance with level of service encounter quality. The questionnaire were collected from customers (N=812) who had used restaurants in Seoul, aiming at 15 or more-year-old customers from October 24, 2005 to November 6, 2005. The main results of this study were as follows: Statistically significant difference was showed in importance and performance of interaction quality, importance and performance of physical environment quality, performance of outcome quality depending on types of restaurants, while significant difference was not indicated in importance of outcome quality by types of restaurants. Positive emotional response was significantly high by types of restaurants in order of fine-dining restaurants, family restaurants, and fast-food restaurants, while negative emotional responses were significantly higher in fast-food restaurants than in the other two types. As far as Customer satisfaction are concerned, fine-dining restaurants showed higher customer satisfaction than the other two types. Attitudinal service loyalty was high in fine-dining restaurants, family restaurants and fast-food restaurants in order and behavioral loyalty was not significantly different with each type of restaurant. In accordance with level of service encounter quality, cluster analysis was conducted and the clusters were divided into 'high-valuation' and 'low-valuation'. 'High-valuation cluster' and 'low-valuation cluster' showed significant difference depending on types of restaurants that customers used(p<.001). The customers who used fine-dining restaurants and family restaurants valued the performance of service encounter highly. However, in fast-food restaurants, a lot of low-valuation customers existed. Therefore, fast-food restaurants have to improve performance of interaction quality, outcome quality and physical environment quality in service encounter. In addition, in 'high-valuation cluster' who valued service encounter quality highly showed higher scores in positive responses, customer satisfaction, service loyalty than in 'low-valuation cluster', and showed low negative responses.

소형 수축열식 전기 보일러의 성능 평가에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Performance Valuation of Small Size Water Storage Electric Boiler)

  • We was made 150L an water storage electric boiler and obtained various performances of the storage, radiant and keeping by experimentation, The storage performance is that the heat were off about 50 minutes after heating start, Then the temperature of outlet was arrived the stead state at $91^{\circ}C$ and the storage performances was appeared 93.64%, In the radiant performance, the water temperature was decreased from $90^{\circ}C$ to $44.8^{\circ}C$ after 960 minutes, Then the calorific value changed from 675kcal/h to 72kcal/h and the temperature decreased about 50%, The keeping performance showed mean temperature, $67.06^{\circ}C$ according to progress 800 minutes and the maximum temperature drop were $0.2^{\circ}C$, By the results of the performance valuation, the water storage electric boiler was verified fitted quality on the test prescription of KERI(Korea Electrotechnology Research Institute).
