벨트형 손소독제 활용의 효과 평가: 임상간호사의 손소독 수행 정도와 만족도를 중심으로 (The Evaluation of Effectiveness of Belt-type Hand Sanitizers in Clinical Nurses: Focusing on the performance of hand disinfection and the satisfaction)

  • 본 연구는 임상간호사들의 벨트형 손소독제 활용에 대한 손소독 수행정도와 수행률, 손소독제 사용 만족도에 대한 효과를 파악하고자 수행된 연구이다. 연구수행을 위해 단일군 전후 유사실험 설계를 이용하였으며, 벨트형 손소독제 활용에 대한 효과평가는 손소독 수행 정도, 손소독 수행률, 손소독제 사용에 대한 만족도로 자가보고형 설문지를 이용하여 측정하였다. 연구 대상자는 일 지역의 종합병원 병동의 임상간호사 50명을 대상으로 하였으며, 수집된 자료는 SPSS 23.0 프로그램을 이용하여 분석하였다. 연구결과, 벨트형 손소독제 사용 후의 손소독 수행 정도, 손소독 수행률, 손소독제 사용 만족도가 유의하게 높은 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구를 통해 벨트형 손소독제는 손소독 수행정도와 손소독 수행률을 향상시킬 수 있는 효과적인 방법임을 확인하였다. 따라서 임상실무에서 벨트형 손소독제를 활용한다면, 손소독 수행 정도와 수행률 향상에 기여할 수 있을 것이다.

복합 소독 공정을 이용한 E. coli 불활성화 (E. coli Inactivation using Complex Disinfection Process)

  • Conventional disinfectants and disinfection method are expensive, hazardous and often require long periods of exposure. Recently, there is growing interest in complex disinfection process as a disinfection technique in medical instruments such as endoscope, hand piece bur to improve the disinfection efficiency and conveniency. The aim of this study was to evaluate the performance of a new complex process for the purpose of disinfection of Escherichia coli in water. Three single process (electrolysis, UV and ultrasonic process) was combined dual and triple disinfection process. The order of disinfection performance for E. coli in dual process lie in: Electrolysis + UV > Electrolysis + Ultrasonic > UV + Ultrasonic process. Disinfection efficiency of E. coli and degradation of N, N-Dimethyl-4-nitrosoaniline (RNO, indicating material of OH radical formation) of dual process was higher than that of the triple process (Electrolysis + UV + Ultrasonic process). In electrolysis + UV process, disinfection tendency was well agreed with RNO degradation tendency.

완전학습모델기반 간호 미생물학 이론 및 실습프로그램의 개발과 효과평가 (The Development and Evaluation of a Clinical Practice Nursing Students' Microbiology Program Based on the Mastery Learning Model)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop a clinical practice nursing students' microbiology program based on the mastery learning model, and to evaluate the effects of the program on nursing students' knowledge, self-efficacy, performance, and satisfaction related to the nursing students' microbiology program. Methods: The program was developed by using the processes of the mastery learning model. The pre-experimental research design involved a one group pretest-posttest design. The setting was a university located in Incheon, Korea. A total of 130 nursing students participated in the program including a theoretical lecture, clinical practice, and formative and summative evaluation. Results: Using the program that was designed and developed, results for the total score of self-efficacy, knowledge, and performance in the post-test application were significantly higher than in the pre-test application (p<.05). The satisfaction of hand hygiene and disinfection/contaminated hand microbial culture and disinfection test received the highest ratings. Conclusion: The application of a clinical practice nursing students' microbiology program was effective, and can be expanded to other nursing students. Future research with other study designs was warranted in order to prove the effect of a microbiology program based on the mastery learning model.

병원감염관리에 대한 간호학생의 인지도와 수행도 (Recognition and Performance on Management for Nosocomial Infections among Nursing Students)

  • Purpose: This study was designed to identify recognition and the performance level for nosocomial infections amongst student nurses and to provide data for preparing on efficient policy and control program for nosocomial infections. Method: 191 senior nursing student participated in this research from 5 nursing college which allowed data collection, in the city of Seoul. The questionnaire was composed of 73 items(likert scale) about eight areas; aseptic technique, disinfection, precaution, hand washing, urinary tract infection, respiratory infection, catheter related infection, and self care about nosocomial infections. Results: The mean score of recognition and performance level for management of nosocomial infection were 4.29 and 3.41 respectively. The mean score of the recognition level was significantly lower than the performance level in the eight areas. The mean score of both recognition and performance were highest in the area of disinfection. However, the mean score of recognition was lowest in the area of aseptic technique and the mean score of performance was lowest in the area of catheter related infections. The correlation of recognition and performance level was statistically significant. Conclusions: These research findings should be useful in promoting an intensive and continuous educational program on nosocomial infection for nursing students and to establish an efficient policy for preventing nosocomial infections.

치위생과 학생의 손 씻기에 대한 지식, 태도, 수행도 (Knowledge, Attitude, Performance on the Hand Washing by Dental Hygiene Students)

  • 본 연구는 치위생과 학생들의 손 씻기에 대한 지식도, 태도, 수행도를 분석하고자 2014년 9월 5일부터 11월 20일까지 K대학과 H대학의 치위생과에 재학 중인 학생 288명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였으며 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 일반적인 특성에 따른 손 씻기 지식도를 보면 학년에서는 3학년 4.72점으로 가장 높게 나타났으며, 스켈링 실습을 이수한 경우에 손 씻기 교육을 많이 받을수록 지식도가 높게 나타났고 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 있었다(p<0.05). 일반적인 특성에 따른 손 씻기 수행도에서 손 씻기 교육 후 인식의 변화 '있다'가 4.17점으로 '없다' 4.03점보다 높게 나타났으며 유의한 차이를 나타냈다(p<0.05). 손 씻기에 대한 지식도, 태도, 수행도의 상관관계는 태도(r=-0.020)와 음의 상관관계를 보였고(p>0.05), 수행도(r=0.161, p<0.05)는 양의 상관관계를 나타냈으며 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 나타냈다. 이상의 결론으로 치위생과 학생들의 올바른 손 씻기에 영향을 미치는 정기적인 손 씻기 교육프로그램을 개발하여 적용한다면 손 씻기에 대한 지식도, 태도, 수행도를 증진시키는데 기여할 수 있을 것이다.

대형 외식업소 조리종사자 위생인지도와 수행도 및 고객 위생만족도 (Foodservice Employees' Awareness and Performance in Sanitation and Customers' Satisfaction with Sanitation at Large-Sized Restaurants)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the foodservice employees' awareness and performance in sanitation and customers' satisfaction with sanitation in large sized restaurants in Korea. Sanitation inspections were carried out in 200 large Korean, Western, Chinese, and Japanese style restaurants, and in buffet-style restaurants in Daegu and Gyeongbuk province. Foodservice employees' awareness of sanitation and customers' satisfaction with sanitation were investigated by interviewing 317 foodservice employees and 205 customers. Results of the inspection of restaurants showed low performance in food handling, employees' hygiene (hygienic) practices, and in cleaning food processing equipment. Scores of the foodservice employees' awareness in Chinese style restaurants were significantly lower than scores of workers in western restaurants. Foodservice employees had low awareness of sanitation procedures used for food storage and cleaning of equipment in Korean, Chinese, and Japanese style restaurants. Foodservice employees had low awareness of equipment cleaning, inspection and food distribution in western style restaurants and of equipment cleaning and food handling in buffet-style restaurants. Foodservice employees at all restaurants had the lowest performance in terms of HACCP. This shows that HACCP application and recording have not yet been properly carried out at restaurants in Korea. Foodservice employees had low performance scores in food handling, vegetable disinfection and disinfection after hand washing. Research on customers' satisfaction with sanitation revealed a low rating of kitchens and foodservice employees at all restaurants. Customers had low satisfaction with servers and kitchen environments in Korean style restaurants with food, tableware, utensils and servers in western style restaurants; with food and kitchen environments in Chinese style restaurants with servers, tableware, and utensils in Japanese style restaurants and with kitchen environments and servers in buffet-style restaurants. Therefore, cleanliness of kitchen facilities and equipment, and hygienic food handling procedures by workers in restaurants are urgently needed.

한방병원 한의사와 간호사의 감염관리에 대한 지식과 수행도 비교 (Knowledge and Performance Level of Infection Control and Influencing Factors of Oriental Medical Doctors and Nurses in Korea)

  • Purpose: This study was designed to identify knowledge and performance level of infection control among oriental medical doctors and nurses and further to identify factors that may influence practice. Methods: Data were collected using the survey method. Two hundred and forty two healthcare workers (HCW) from five oriental medicine university hospitals in Korea (140 physicians and 102 nurses) completed a survey about infection control. The study was conducted from February 1 to 28, 2011. Results: The average knowledge level of infection control among HCW was $0.75{\pm}0.13$ (score range 0~1) and the average performance level of infection control was $3.16{\pm}1.05$ (score range 0~5). 'Disinfection and sterilization' were ranked the highest in both the knowledge and performance level. In the knowledge level, 'hand washing/hand hygiene' were ranked the lowest. 'Bloodstream infection prevention' was the lowest among the infection control categories in performance. Total average knowledge and performance level of nurses was significantly higher than that of the physicians. Conclusion: This study demonstrated the oriental medical doctors and nurses' knowledge and performance level of infection control differed. The education on infection control is required to oriental medical doctors and nurses and it would contribute to preventing healthcare associated infections in oriental medicine hospitals.

간호사의 병원감염 관리에 대한 수행도에 영향을 미치는 요인 (Factors Influencing Performance of the Nurses about the Management of Nosocomial Infection)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the factors influencing performance of the clinical nurses about the management of nosocomial infection. Method: The data were collected using structured questionnaire from 300 clinical nurses from April 26, 2004 to May 20, 2004. The data analyzed by the SPSS (ver10.0)program, and it included descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, the Pearson correlation coefficient, stepwise multiple regression. Result: Personal hygiene management and disinfection equipment management had the higher record than other dimensions. The level of recognition for management of nosocomial infection showed positive correlation with the level of performance for management of nosocomial infection. The level of recognition for management of nosocomial infection, working period, number of hand washing, have significant effects on the degree of a performance for management of nosocomial infection. These predictive variables of the degree of a performance for management of nosocomial infection explained 17% of variance. Conclusion: It is needed to be developed for the effective management of nosocomial infection through the educational program.

학교급식소 조리종사원 담당 위생관리항목에 대한 중요도-수행도 분석 (Importance-Performance Analysis about Sanitation Management Items Performed by School Food service Workers)

  • The purposes of this study were to investigate the gap in perceived importance-performance between dietitians and food service workers regarding school food service sanitation and to analyze items that should be given priority for improvement. Data were collected by 440 food service workers and 71 dietitians in Gyeongbuk province. All statistical analyses were conducted using the SAS package program (version 8.2 for Windows) for descriptive analysis, t-test, and importance-performance analysis (IPA). According to the performance analysis, there were significant differences between dietitians and food service workers in 18 out of the 20 items. In all of 18 items, the evaluated performance scores according to the food service workers were higher than those of the dietitians. In addition, the results of IPA confirmed the following areas as improvement priorities: proper hand washing of food service workers, cleanliness of trays and utensils, monitoring of temperature of refrigerated/frozen foods and quality of the food materials during inspection, proper washing and disinfection of raw vegetables and fruits and maintenance of CCP records, and control of food holding temperature and methods. In conclusion, dietitians should perform education about sanitation management items that have low perceived importance and should make a plan to improve sanitation management after understanding the gap in perceived importance-performance between dietitians and food service workers.

COVID-19 발생 전후 작업치료사의 감염관리 인식 및 수행도 비교 조사 (A comparative investigation of infection control perception and performance of occupational therapists before and after the outbreak of COVID-19)

  • 본 연구는 COVID-19 발생 전후에 작업치료를 수행하고 있는 작업치료사 101명을 대상으로 손 씻기, 개인 보호 장비 사용, 주변 환경 정리의 감염관리에 대한 인식과 수행을 비교하고자 설문조사를 실시했으며, 맨-휘트니 U 검정(Mann-Whitney U test), 크루스칼-왈리스 H 검정(Kruskal-wallis H test), 윌콕슨 부호 순위 검정(Wilcoxon signed-rank test), 피어슨 상관분석(Pearson's correlation coefficient)을 사용해 분석하였다. 그 결과, COVID-19 발생 이전보다 발생 이후에 감염관리 교육을 더 잘 받았고 감염성 질환의 경험이 낮은 것으로 확인되었다. 또한, COVID-19 발생 이전보다 발생 이후에 손 씻기, 개인 보호장비 사용, 주변 환경정리에서의 감염관리에 대한 인식 및 수행이 향상된 것으로 나타났다. 하지만 현재까지도 질병관리청에서 권고하는 흐르는 물에서 40초 이상의 손 씻기와 치료실 청소 및 치료 도구의 소독은 개선이 필요한 실정이다. 본 연구를 통하여 감염성 질환의 발생을 최소화하기 위해 감염관리 교육을 정기적으로 반복해야 하며, 향후 작업치료사를 대상으로 하는 감염관리 교육 및 후속 연구에서 활용할 수 있는 기초자료가 될 수 있을 것이다.
