  • Built-In-Test(hereafter: BIT) is necessary functionality for aircraft flight safety and it requires a high failure detection capacity of more than 95 % in the case of avionics equipment. The BIT coverage analysis is needed to make sure that BIT meets its fault diagnosis capability. FMECA is used a lot of for the BIT coverage analysis. However, in this paper, the BIT coverage analysis based on electronic components is introduced to minimize the analytical error. Further, by applying the failure mode of the electronic components and excluding electronic components that do not affect flight safety, the BIT coverage analysis can be more accurate. Finally, BIT demo was performed and it was confirmed that the performance of the actual BIT matches the analysis of BIT performance.

  • Satisfying the same probability of loss of control and essentially two fail operative performance with a triplex computer architecture requires a lot of modification of the conventional redundancy management design techniques, previously employed in quadruplex digital flight control computer. T-50 FCS for triplex redundancy management design applied an advanced digital flight control architecture with an I/O controller which is functionally independent of the digital computer to achieve the same reliability and special failure analysis and isolation schemes for fail operational goals with a triplex configuration. The analysis results indicated that the triplex flight control system is to satisfy the safety requirement utilizing the advanced flight control techniques and the system performance of the implemented flight control system was verified by failure mode effect test.

  • This paper is concerned with protecting piezoelectric transducers used in an ultrasonic flowmeter from the high temperature of hot fluid in a pipe by using a waveguide and with improving the propagation of ultrasonic longitudinal vibration in the waveguide. Waveguide material has been chosen for efficient insulation of heat transferred in the waveguide, and the minimum length of the waveguide for protecting piezoelectric transducer has been estimated. Forced response of the longitudinal vibration in a uniform circular rod has been obtained and the length of the waveguide has been selected for maximum amplitude. Longitudinal vibration response of a conically-tapered rod excited at a natural frequency has been obtained to confirm that wave motion is amplified as the cross-sectional size of the waveguide decreases along the axial direction. The fact that dispersion of a pulse wave in a waveguide is reduced as the cross-sectional radius is decreased has been examined theoretically and confirmed experimentally by using a single-rod waveguide. A bundle-type waveguide has proven to be a practical one through the evaluation of the wave propagation performance.

  • In this study, the vibration control performance of high-rise building structures connected by a sky-bridge has been investigated. The philosophy of vibration control using sky-bridges is to allow structures with different dynamic characteristics to exert control forces upon one another through sky-bridges to reduce the overall responses of the system. The the high-rise building structure connected by sky-bridge with 49 and 42 stories was used in this study to investigate the displacement, acceleration, reaction of bearings and stress of sky-bridge by analytical methods. To this end, historical earthquakes, an artificial earthquake and wind force time histories obtained from wind tunnel tests were used. Based on the analytial results, the use of sky-bridge can be effective in reducing the structural responses of high-rise buildings against wind and seismic loads.

  • The purpose of the pyro-shock compliant joint is to isolated vibration using the compliant material in order to prevent the shock generated by pyro propulsion at the electronics equipment. The performance of the pyro-shock compliant joint can be determined by measuring bending natural frequency and transmissibility. In this study, we established the design requirements based on bending natural frequency and transmissibility results of the reference model. We developed a compliant material with sufficient shock compliant properties and a pyro-shock compliant joint for the new rocket. This results can be used to develop a pyro-shock compliant joint for any rocket using the compliant material and performance measurement.

  • Recently, the transportation of dangerous explosive goods is increasing, which makes vehicle blasting accidents a potential threat for the safety of bridge structures. In addition, blasting accidents happen more easily when earthquake occurs. Excessive dynamic response of bridges under extreme loads may cause local member damage, serviceability issues, or even failure of the whole structure. In this paper, a new explosion-proof and aseismic system is proposed including cable support damping bearing and steel-fiber reinforced concrete based on the existing researches. Then, considering one 40m-span simply supported concrete T-bridge as the prototype, through scale model test and numerical simulation, the dynamic response of the bridge under three conditions including only earthquake, only blast load and the combination of the two extreme loads is obtained and the applicability of this explosion-proof and aseismic system is explored. Results of the study show that this explosion-proof and aseismic system has good adaptability to seism and blast load at different level. The reducing vibration isolation efficiency of cable support damping bearing is pretty high. Increasing cables does not affect the good shock-absorption performance of the original bearing. The new system is good at shock absorption and displacement limitation. It works well in reducing the vertical dynamic response of beam body, and could limit the relative displacement between main girder and capping beam in different orientation so as to solve the problem of beam falling. The study also shows that the enhancement of steel fibers in concrete could significantly improve the blast resistance of main beam. Results of this paper can be used in the process of antiknock design, and provide strong theoretical basis for comprehensive protection and support of girder bridges.

  • As feature size is smaller, new technology are needed in semiconductor factory such as gap-fill technology for sub 100nm, development of ALD equipment for Cu barrier/seed, oxide trench etcher technology for 25 nm and beyond, development of high throughput Cu CMP equipment for 30nm and development of poly etcher for 25 nm and so on. We are focus on gap-fill technology for sub-30nm. There are many problems, which are leaning, over-hang, void, micro-pore, delaminate, thickness limitation, squeeze-in, squeeze-out and thinning phenomenon in sub-30 nm gap fill. New gap-fill processes, which are viscous oxide-SOD (spin on dielectric), O3-TEOS, NF3 Based HDP and Flowable oxide have been attempting to overcome these problems. Some groups investigated SOD process. Because gap-fill performance of SOD is best and process parameter is simple. Nevertheless these advantages, SOD processes have some problems. First, material cost is high. Second, density of SOD is too low. Therefore annealing and curing process certainly necessary to get hard density film. On the other hand, film density by Flowable oxide process is higher than film density by SOD process. Therefore, we are focus on Flowable oxide. In this work, dielectric film were deposited by PECVD with TSA(Trisilylamine - N(SiH3)3) and NH3. To get flow-ability, the effect of plasma treatment was investigated as function of O2 plasma power. QMS (quadruple mass spectrometry) and FTIR was used to analysis mechanism. Gap-filling performance and flow ability was confirmed by various patterns.

  • Two separate antennas are usually adopted in high performance radar systems to achieve the high degree of isolation since the transmission and reception of signals cannot be separated in time. However, even though two spatially separated antennas are installed in the system, strong signals from a transmission antenna can cause the serious interference problem in a receiving antenna. These strong interference signals from the transmission antenna can cause serious problems in detection and analysis of much weaker echo signals which are reflected by small targets. Also the increased level of background noise power due to interference can cause the serious degradation of the system performance. Therefore, in this paper, the proper cancellation method is suggested and results are shown and analyzed for removal of strong interference and background noise power.

  • The flower of Erigeron annuus L. was extracted with 80% aqueous MeOH, and the concentrated extract was partitioned with EtOAc, n-BuOH and $H_2O$, successively. From the EtOAc fraction, three compounds were isolated through the repeated silica gel, ODS column and high performance liquid chromatographies. From the result of physico-chemical data including NMR, MS and IR, the chemical structures of the compounds were determined as ${\alpha}-amyrenone,\;{\alpha}-amyrin\;and\;{\beta}-amyrin$. These three compounds were isolated for the first time from the flower of Erigeron annuus L.

  • IOMMU is a hardware unit that is indispensable for DMA. Besides address translation and remapping, it also provides I/O virtual address space isolation among devices and memory access control on DMA transactions. However, currently commodity virtualization platforms lack of IOMMU virtualization, so that the virtual machines are vulnerable to DMA security threats. Previous works focus only on DMA security problem of directly assigned devices. Moreover, these solutions either introduce significant overhead or require modifications on the guest OS to optimize performance, and none can achieve high I/O efficiency and good compatibility with the guest OS simultaneously, which are both necessary for production environments. However, for simulated virtual devices the DMA security problem also exists, and previous works cannot solve this problem. The reason behind that is IOMMU circuits on the host do not work for this kind of devices as DMA operations of which are simulated by memory copy of CPU. Motivated by the above observations, we propose an IOMMU para-virtualization solution called PVIOMMU, which provides general functionalities especially DMA security guarantees for both directly assigned devices and simulated devices. The prototype of PVIOMMU is implemented in Qemu/KVM based on the virtio framework and can be dynamically loaded into guest kernel as a module, As a result, modifying and rebuilding guest kernel are not required. In addition, the device model of Qemu is revised to implement DMA access control by separating the device simulator from the address space of the guest virtual machine. Experimental evaluations on three kinds of network devices including Intel I210 (1Gbps), simulated E1000 (1Gbps) and IB ConnectX-3 (40Gbps) show that, PVIOMMU introduces little overhead on DMA transactions, and in general the network I/O performance is close to that in the native KVM implementation without IOMMU virtualization.
