  • This paper presents the design of an active vibration suppression controller for an air-spring type vibration isolation table. Firstly, isolation system model is constructed considering the isolation table, attached equipment and voice-coil actuator. An active control system is designed based on frequency-shaped sliding mode control theory rewarding high frequency uncertainties with respect to attached equipments on the isolation table. Finally. the performance of the active isolation system is evaluated by simulation under some disturbance conditions which are transmitted from base structure of the isolation system.

  • The machine equipment of the building inside occurs the vibration. In order to reduce this vibration spring, rubber pad is used. But efficiency of this classical mount is restricted at specific frequency. Also maximum efficiency design is complicated. This paper proposes and examines a attached mass isolation system that is used to reduce transmitted vibrations from machines onto their floor support. With attached mass the low frequency performance is improved overall. The performance is showed in 2 degree of freedom model test. And the proposed isolator has been validated by dynamic test and good agreement between theoretical and experimental results has been obtained.

  • High-performance countercurrent chromatography (HPCCC) coupled with reversed-phase highperformance liquid chromatography (RP-HPLC) method was developed to isolate dihydrophaseic acid 3'-O-${\beta}$-D-glucopyranoside (DHPAG) from the extract of Nelumbo nucifera seeds. Enriched DHPAG sample (2.3 g) was separated by HPCCC using ethyl acetate/n-butanol/water system (6:4:10, v/v/v, normal-phase mode, flow rate: 4.0 mL/min) to give 23.1 mg of DHPAG with purity of 88.7%. Further preparative RP-HPLC experiment gave pure DHPAG (16.3 mg, purity > 98%). The current study demonstrates that utilization of CCC method maximizes the isolation efficiency compared with that of solid-based conventional column chromatography.

  • One of important design challenges in Chongqing Raffles City Plaza project is Sky Bridge structural design and its connection scheme in high level. This article systematically describes the structural system and its design and analysis methodology, with discussing the impacts on structural performance due to different connection approaches. The seismic isolation scheme in high level is innovatively adopted to the final design. Under the conditions of various load cases, the different models and assumptions are implemented. A full assessment on Sky Bridge's structural performance, seismic isolation, and its connection is conducted in terms of seismic performance based design. By co-operating with architecture, MEP and other disciplines, the structural economy index is fulfilled.

  • With verifications through many relevant researches in the past few decades, adopting the equivalent lateral force procedure for designing seismically isolated structures as a preliminary or even final design approach has become considerably mature and publicly acceptable, especially for seismic isolation systems that mechanically exhibit bilinear hysteretic behavior. During the design procedure, in addition to a given seismic demand, structural designers still need to previously determine three parameters, such as mechanical properties of seismic isolation systems or design parameters and performance indices of seismically isolated structures. However, an arbitrary or improper selection of given parameters might cause diverse or even unacceptable design results, thus troubling structural designers very much. In this study, first, based on the criterion that at least either two design parameters or two performance indices of seismically isolated structures are decided previously, the rationality and applicability of design results obtained from different conditions are examined. Moreover, to consider variations of design parameters of seismically isolated structures attributed to uncertainties of mechanical properties of seismic isolation systems, one of the conditions is adopted to perform bounding analysis for seismic isolation design. The analysis results indicate that with a reasonable equivalent damping ratio designed, considering a specific variation for two design parameters (the effective stiffness and equivalent damping ratio) could present more conservative bounding design results (in terms of isolation displacement and acceleration transmissibility) than considering the same variation but for two mechanical properties (the characteristic strength and post-yield stiffness).

  • A performance analysis of LEO Satellite Communication Service is being made in a variety of ways. In this paper we examined the variation of interference caused by the distribution of terminals within a cell and the maximum number of users according to the average distance between terminals, which had not been considered in former researches. Also we examined the interference made by sopt beam isolation value of some antennas(tapered-apertured antenna, gaussian antenna) which are used on LEO Satellite Communication Service Assigning this interference to the bandwidth of channels in LEO Satellite Communication Service, and with principal parameters(bandwidth, number of carrier) we made a performance analysis. And comparing tapered-apertured antenna with gaussian antenna we will find out which one is more effective and more suitable for interference.

  • This study is aimed to investigate the seismic performance of low-rise precast wall system with base isolation. Three types of High Damping Rubber Bearing (HDRB) were designed to provide effective isolation period of 2.5 s for three different kinds of structure in terms of vertical loading. The real size HDRB was manufactured and tested to obtain the characteristic stiffness as well as damping ratio. In the vertical stiffness test, it was revealed that the HDRB was not an ideal selection to be used in isolating lightweight structure. Time history analysis using 33 real earthquake records classified with respective peak ground acceleration-to-velocity (a/v) ratio was performed for the remaining two types of HDRB with relatively higher vertical loading. HDRB was observed to show significant reduction in terms of base shear and floor acceleration demand in ground excitations having a/v ratio above $0.5g/ms^{-1}$, very much lower than the current classification of $0.8g/ms^{-1}$. In addition, this study also revealed that increasing the damping ratio of base isolation system did not guarantee better seismic performance particularly in isolation of lightweight structure or when the ground excitation was having lower a/v ratio.

  • The aims of this study were to Investigate the floor impact noise isolation performance of floating floor with isolation materials and propose the improvement direction of floor impact noise measurement method and evaluation classes using impact ball. Reduction of light-weight impact sound pressure level can be achieved by the finishing materials, such as vinyl finishing material and wooden flooring with isolation materials. Floor impact noise Isolation material which satisfy the properties of the floor impact noise isolation materials cause resonance in the low frequency band and worsen heavy-weight impact sound pressure level. Heavy-weight impact sound level can be reduced by using noise reduction flooring, ceiling and increase of slab thickness. Strong impact force in low frequency bang below 63Hz of bang machine is not similar to human impact source and causes some problem in evaluating heavy-weight impact noise but heavy-weight impact noise measurement and evolution using impact ball which is very similar to human impact is more reliable than bang machine. Correction value on the background noise and sensitivity of residents should be considered on the floor impact noise evaluation classes.

  • Recently, various piloti structures have been constructed in Korea to secure residential and parking spaces. However, these piloti structures have been constructed in the form of protruding columns without walls to secure parking spaces on the first floor. In this form, when an earthquake occurs, the column is relatively easily damaged compared to general structures, and such damage can lead to the collapse of the structure. Therefore, in this study, a study on securing the safety of the piloti structure using the MPS (Multi Performance System) seismic isolation device was conducted. Nonlinear dynamic analysis according to the presence or absence of MPS seismic isolation device was performed on the existing piloti structure, and analysis results were compared and analyzed. Finally, each seismic performance evaluation was performed and the superiority of the MPS seismic isolation device was verified.

  • A diagnostic rule-base design method for enhancing fault detection and isolation performance of multiple obsever based fault detection isolation schemes (FIDS) is presented. The diagnostic rule-base has a hierarchical framework to perform detection and isolation of faults of interest, and diagnosis of process faults. The decision unit comprises a rule base and a fuzzy inference engine and removes some difficulties of conventional decision unit which includes crisp logic with threshold values. Emphasis is placed on the design and evaluation methods of the diagnostic rult-base. The suggested scheme is applied to the FDIS design for a DC motor driven centrifugal pump system.
