The Determination of Preservative Dosages in Cosmetics (화장품 중 살균방부제 함량 연구)

  • This study was performed to investigate the contents of preservatives in cosmetic lotions and creams. The 55 kinds of creams and the 45 kinds of lotions were tested, and the 6 kinds of preservatives such as sorbic acid (SA), benzoic acid (BA), methlparaben(MP), ethylparaben(EP), propylparaben(PP) and butylparaben(BP) were determined for domestic and foreign cosmetics by high performance liquid chromatography(HPLC). The recovery rates of methanol extraction and distillation method were respectively the range of 84.82 - 99.62% and 17.47 - 79.91% for the spiking concentration of 1.2% in the cosmetic lotions. Excellent isolation was showed at the wavelength of 230nm for 6 kinds of preservatives. Preservatives were detected for all tested samples and their concentration were not exceeded in cosmetic combination limits. Paraoxybenzoate esters(MP, EP, PP, BP) were used in the 98.0% of samples and not less than 2 kinds of preservatives were used in samples.

  • A large number of seismic isolation systems have been developed since the early 1970s. They are basically a combination of elastomeric bearing and energy dissipators. The investigation described in this paper analyzes shear property and the frequency dependence of Lead Rubber Damper(LRD). Lead Rubber Damper is similar in shape and performance property to Lead Rubber Bearing. Experimental condition ranges from 20 to 200% in share strain and from 0.1 to 1.0Hz in frequency. When the shear strain is increased, effective stiffness and damping ratio are decreased. When the frequency is increased, change of the behavior characteristic is subtle.

  • Active damping has been shown to offer increased suspension performance in terms of vehicle isolation, suspension packaging, and road-tire contract force. Many semi-active damping strategies have been introduced to approximate the response of active damping with the modulation of passive damping parameters. This study investigates the characteristics of semi-active suspension control through the simulation of passive, skyhook active, and semi-active damping models. A quarter car model is studied with the conrolled damping replacing both passive and active damping. A new semi-active scheme is suggested to eliminate the abrupt changes in semi-active damping force. It is shown that the new strategy performs almost identically to the so called "force controlled" semi-active law without steep changes in damping force or body acceleration.eleration.

  • To cope with stringent performance targets requested in many fields spanning the whole range of industry, the driver is necessary to realize large dynamic range as well as nano resolution, manipulate the mover orientation without additional driver, and be suitable for clean environment. As one of those purposes, authors have developed the planar precision stages with the integrated operating principle of levitation and propel. In this paper, we discuss potential of magnetic suspension technology by comparing various features of non-contact planar stages, that is, repulsive type of surface actuator and attractive type of surface actuator.

  • This paper presents a new concept of a commercial vehicle seat suspension system. The proposed suspension system features an ER(electro-rheological)damper which can produce continuously tunable damping forces by control elecric fields. A dynamic model of the ER damper is first achieved by incorporating Bingham property of the ER fluid, followed by the formulation of governing equations of motion for the suspension system The effectiveness of the proposed ER seat suspension system is evaluated by investigating vibration with respect to sinusoidal inputs.

  • In this study, the dynamic absorbing system for the shoulder-fired system with high-level-impact force has been investigated. for this purpose, firstly, mathematical model based on the short recoil system has been constructed. In order to design the dynamic absorbing system, parameter sensitivity analysis and parameter optimization process have been performed under constraints of moving displacement and transmitted force. In order to enhance the efficiency of energy dissipation, the stroke-dependent variable damping system has been analyzed. finally, the performance of the designed dynamic absorbing system has been evaluated by simulation with respect to the benchmark system.

  • The paper considers acoustic analysis of the shock absorbing muffler within a rotary compressor. The internal space of the compressor is modelled as a combination of cavities and pipes. A simple one-dimensional impedance approach is used fur the acoustic analysis in the low frequency range, with ignoring the effects of gas flow and temperature gradients that are closely related to power efficiency of the compressor. Using the similarity between the vibration isolator and the shock absorbing muffler, the source strength transmissibility is newly proposed as a performance measure of the muffler and its validity is supported by power analysis. Some Important muffler design rules obtained are; (1) a muffler cavity and its opening throat should be used as a pair, (2) a long thin throat is desirable for high frequency noise isolation, (3) a large muffler cavity should be used with care since it shortens the working frequency range of the muffler. The rules were applied to redesign a compressor muffler currently in use, and a significant improvement was achieved by simply attaching a throat to the outlet holes of the muffler.

  • In this study, the optimal dynamic absorbing system for the gas operated HIF (high implusive force) device has been investigated. For this purpose, firstly, the dynamic behavior of human body induced by impulsive disturbances has been analyzed through a series of experimental works using the devised test setup. The characteristics of linear impulse has been compared under some conditions of support system. In order to design the optimal dynamic absorbing system, the parameter optimization process has been performed based on the simplified isolation system model under constraints of moving displacement and transmitted force. Finally, the performance of the designed dynamic absorbing system has been evaluated by simulation in the actual operating condition.

Isolation of Prenylated Isoflavonoids from Cudrania tricuspidata Fruits that Inhibit A2E Photooxidation

  • High-performance liquid chromatography coupled to an online $ABTS^+$-based assay (online HPLC-$ABTS^+$) system was used to determine the principal antioxidants in Cudrania tricuspidata fruits. Six prenylated isoflavonoids (1 - 6) were isolated from C. tricuspidata fruits according to the online HPLC-$ABTS^+$ system. The structures of isolated compounds, alpiniumisoflavone (1), 6,8-diprenylorobol (2), 6,8-diprenylgenistein (3), pomiferin (4), 4'-methylalpiniumisoflavone (5), and osajin (6) were identified by their retention time, UV spectra, ESI-MS, and NMR data. Among these compounds, 6,8-diprenylorobol (2) and pomiferin (4) reduced A2E photooxidation in a dose dependent manner.

  • This paper presents a new concept of a semi-active suspension system for a commercial vehicle seat. The proposed suspension system features an ER(electro-rheological) damper which can produce continuously tunable damping forces by control electric fields. A dynamic model of the ER damper is first achieved by incorporating Bingham property of the ER fluid, followed by the formulation of governing equations of motion for the suspension system. A sliding mode controller is then designed on the basis of the hyper-plane sliding mode scheme. The effectiveness of the proposed control system is evaluated by investigating control performance for vibration isolation.
