The Study on the Determinants of Export Performance in terms of Integrated Approach - the Case of Exporting Firms in Gwangju - (수출기업의 통합적 성과결정요인에 대한 연구 - 광주 소재 수출기업을 중심으로 -)

  • The main objective of this study is to examine the mediating effect of 'international entrepreneurship' on the relationship between the determinants related to export and export performance. Data was collected from a survey of 200 exporting firms in Gwangju, Korea. The results of the study are as follows ; First, 'international entrepreneurship' are produced a mediating effect when the determinants affect export performance. Second, Resource-based factors and Industry organization factors have a positive impacts on export performance. However, relationship factor as a determinant does not have statistically significant correlation to export performance. Accordingly, in orer to enhance export performance, exporting firms in Korea should try more to prepare for resource-based factors and industry organization factors as determinants. In addition to these, if CEOs of exporting firms are equipped with international entrepreneurship spirits, they can increase the performance of their exporting firms. So they have to manage their exporting firms very strategically so that they can make their firms' export performance better and better.

  • Recently, the growth of e-Learning systems and its related information technology has presented a unique challenge for both schools and industry. It would make an extremely phenomenal paradigm shift in the educational method and practice. Methods of assessing the quality of e-teaming services and contents are critical issue in both practice and research. Moreover, many researchers are interested in what qualify factors more affect to the Performance of e-Learning service. Nevertheless, service quality is a construct that is difficult to define and measure. e-Learning services are composed of many factors, and they are more complicated than the traditional education services because they we performed on the distance basis and the many platforms of IT infrastructure. The purposes of our research are to classify the e-Learning service dimension and identify their factors, to develop the measurement of the factors, and finally to test empirically their relationship between the service factors and e-Learning service performance. For the development of the service factors we considered SERVQUAL model and SERVPERF model which were developed in the service marketing area. The SERVQUAL model was more fitted to the e-Learning services than the latter. From that we derived several factors that fit to our research domain, ie, tangibles, access, reliability, credibility, security, responsiveness, assurance, empathy. We combined three factors of them(reliability, credibility, security) into a factor, system stability for the semantic simplicity, and divided responsiveness factor into system operator responsiveness and teacher responsiveness as the entity based dimension classification. In the e-Learning services research, Most researcher are mentioned the quality factors of contents, so we added to two contents quality factors, ie, contents production method and richness of contents itself. We examined the relationship between the service quality factors and e-Learning performance(student satisfaction and service reuse intention). As result three quality factors(contents production method, teacher responsiveness, empathy) significantly affected student satisfaction. To the other performance variable, ie, service reuse intention, the teacher related quality factors(such as teacher responsiveness, assurance, empathy) affected only. In conclusion, even in the on-line distance teaming, the teacher's role md earnestness is as important as ever.

Identifying Current Hospital Practices in Clinical Dietetics (병원 영양사의 임상업무 실태 조사(I))

  • The purpose of this study were to examine clinical dietetic performance level and to determine factors affecting clinical dietetic performance level. The survery was carried out for the 33 general hospitals over 400 beds in Seoul We established 13 factors which amy affect clinical dietetic performance level and investigated the relationship between these factors and clinical dietetic performance level. The average score of performance and perception of importance levels of clinical dietetic practices were 46.0${\pm}$6.9 and 73.2${\pm}$4.8 respectively. None of the demographic variables were significantly correlated to clinical dietetic performance level. Clinical dietetic performance level depended upon whether dietetic department had a division or not for clinical dietetic activities.

Effects of Empowerment and Job Satisfaction on Nursing Performance of Clinical Nurses (간호사의 임파워먼트와 직무만족이 간호업무성과에 미치는 영향)

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to identify factors that affect nursing performance; Those factors are personal characteristics, sub-categories of empowerment and job satisfaction of clinical nurses. Methods: Data were collected from November 24, 2012 to March 11, 2013, and participants were 451 hospital nurses in 6 hospitals. Descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient, and stepwise multiple regression were used for data analysis. Results: Nurses who were older, married, highly educated, in the position of charge nurse, and with longer clinical careers showed relatively higher empowerment, higher job satisfaction, and higher nursing performance than others. Also, there were strong correlations between nursing performance and empowerment (r=.576)/job satisfaction (r=.617). Factors predicted nursing performance were relationship with coworkers (${\beta}=.398$), duty (${\beta}=.181$), promotion system (${\beta}=.134$), and turnover intention (${\beta}=-.109$). Factors predicting job satisfaction were competency of empowerment (${\beta}=.249$), and clinical career (${\beta}=.151$). These 6 factors explained 55.2% of the variance in nursing performance (F=93.37, <.001). Conclusion: Regarding human resource management, relationship with co-workers is a changeable factor. Therefore nursing organizations should apply these factors in human resource management to enhance nursing performance and achieve organizational goals.

An Analysis of an Influencing Factor in the Export Performance of ICT Company (ICT 기업의 해외수출 성과에 미치는 영향요인의 분석)

  • This study deduced an effect produced on the export performance of ICT company through precedent study. And the importance of each factor was analyzed, regarding the deduced influencing factors. And influencing factors in the export performance of ICT export companies were presented at a practical level on the basis of analysis results. According to the results of analysis, with regard to the influencing factor in the export performance of ICT company, companies' factors were interpreted as the most important influencing factor among the 1st hierarchical factors. According to the results of analysis after setting 12 factors for the 2nd hierarchical factor, 4 factors including export experience, CEO's market orientation, marketing strategy, and export market attractiveness were interpreted as very important factors. Therefore, it was possible to find that, with regard to the influencing factor in the export performance of ICT company, above all, enterprise internal factors- i.e., companies' factors, marketing factors- were more important influencing factors.

  • This study is to develope the job stress model for workers in fashion and textile industries and to investigate the effect of job stressors on stress symptom and its effect on job performance. The structural equation model analysis was performed for examining the relationship among job stressors, stress symptom and job performance. Environmental factors, task factors, role factors and organizational climate factors were identified as job stressors. Task characteristics and role characteristics were positively related to job stress symptom. Environmental factors and organizational climate factors were negatively related to job stress symptom. Also, job stress symptom was negatively related to job performance. The findings suggest some implications on how to improve job performance or to reduce job stress.

Investigating the Factors Influencing Project Satisfaction and Performance in Pre-Project Phase (프로젝트 준비단계에서 프로젝트 성과에 영향을 미치는 요인에 관한 연구)

  • Preproject phase is an important but often ignored research area in information systems field although it has an undeniable importance for successful project. The purpose of this study is to identify factors affecting project performance in preproject phase and to find empirically critical factors among them. After deriving 9 factors through literature review including clear project definition, project leader position, staffing efforts, preproject team expertise, preproject knowledge scope, preproject partnering, top-management support, resource sufficiency, and project climate, the study investigate the influence of those factors on project performance. The study results reveal that clear project definition, project climate, resource sufficiency, pre-project knowledge scope, project leader position have significant impact on project process satisfaction, a measure of project performance, but the other factors do not. Based on the empirical results, the study discuss academic and practical implications.

The SPI Factors Affecting on Organizational Performance: The Prespective of the Moderating Effect of Organizational Maturity Level (조직성과에 미치는 SPI 영향요인에 관한 연구 :조직 성숙도의 조절효과 관점에서)

  • Software Process Improvement(SPI) has been a challenging issue to software organizations. The factors affecting SPI were analysed for improving software development processes. Numerous studies suggested influencing factors, and assessment models were utilized for software improvement. This research suggested that SPI factors affecting on an organizational performance may vary according to the CMM(Capability Maturity Model) level. The moderating effects of organizational maturity level between the SPI factors and the organizational performance were empirically tested. This research found that all six SPI factors except for the resistance to change affected the organizational performance. The moderating effects of management support, goal alliances, participation, and effect analyses were empirically supported. These results can provide several implications or a practical guidance to academic and industry professionals.

A Study on the Success Factors of Bio Cluster : Focused on the Development of Integrated Framework

  • Purpose - This study incorporated the success factors of bio cluster and provided the ways to utilize them for managing the performance of bio cluster. The aim of this study was to present an integrated framework for the success factors of the bio cluster by combining the literature and case studies, and to measure and manage the performance of the bio cluster. Research design, data, and methodology - This study combined the literature review with the case study. We reviewed the literature on the success factors of the bio cluster presented by existing studies. We studied some cases of how these factors are actually applied in the bio cluster also. We integrated the success factors of bio cluster based on both the literature review and the case study. Results - The success factors of the bio cluster presented in this study as an integrated framework were defined as six factors: knowledge base and expertise, industrial infrastructure, funding and investment, government support, start-up activities and innovation activities. These success factors can be measured and managed by some performance indicators of each factor. Conclusions - Through this study, we can identify the integrated success factors of the bio cluster and understand how these factors work in bio cluster. In addition, this integrated framework of success factors will be effectively utilized to measure and manage the performance of the bio cluster.

  • Today, many organizations are reengineering themselves to develop new ways to thrive in a foreign and unforgiving business environment. However, it is reported that many companies involved in the project of business process reengineering are dissatisfied with their results. Therefore, we developed an exploratory framework based on three constructs such as critical success factors, organizational maturity level, and performance and applied these to help analyze current practice in business process reengineering. To proceed with our research, this paper was organized around two research questions in business process reengineering. We addressed: (1) To what extent does certain critical success factors correlate with performance? and (2) How does the relationships between critical success factors and performance differ by organizational maturity level? From the research results, we could find relationships between critical success factors(i.e., project management, change management, objective management) and performance, and could verify differences in performance of organizations grouped by organizational maturity level.
