A Study on the Influencing Factors of Smart-Work Performance (스마트워크 환경하의 업무성과에 영향을 미치는 요인에 관한 연구)

  • This study derived research model about the influencing factors of the successful performance of smart work. Research model is composed of four perspectives: technology perspective like system quality and usage level of information technology, interaction perspective like innovational climate, institutional perspective like personnel evaluation, and individual perspective like self-control. This study collected 155 survey data from K public company and M global software company. As a result of data analysis, all of four perspectives influenced smart work performance. Technology perspective had the strongest effect on smart work performance, the second was institution perspective, the third was interaction perspective, and the last was individual perspective. In conclusion, smart work is not an IT project. We have to reconsider the thinking that just only the introduction of cutting-edge IT increases business performance. Smart work project should be pursued in harmony with institution and climate in the organizational perspective and self-control in the personal perspective. Also, to maximize business performance in smart work environment, organizations should strengthen the positive factors and overcome the negative factors.

A Study on the Factors of the Special Hospital Designation System that Affect Financial Performance: Comparison Before and After the Implementation of the Specialty Hospital System (전문병원 지정이 재무성과에 영향을 미치는 요인에 관한 연구 : 전문병원제도 시행전후 비교)

  • Objectives : The aim of this study was to investigate whether there is a difference in the factors affecting the financial performance and profitability before and after the specialty hospital designation and thereby identifying the differentiated significance of the financial performance of specialty hospitals. Methods : Based on the year 2011, the analysis period was divided into the pre-specialty hospital designation (2007-2010) and post-specialty hospital designation (2011-2014), and the data were pooled according to the respective analysis period and analyzed by descriptive statistics and regression analysis. Results : The difference in the financial factors that affected the financial performance and profitability before and after the specialty hospital designation was discovered, and a financial performance factor different from prior studies was found. Conclusions : This study identified improved outcomes in financial performance due to the specialty hospital designation and the factors that affect profitability in terms of the finance of specialty hospitals.

The Effect of Competence and Competitive Strategy on Performance in Special Hospitals and the Moderating Effect of the Business Environment (전문병원의 역량과 경쟁전략이 성과에 미치는 영향과 경영환경의 조절효과)

  • Objectives : This study explored ways to identify factors that have competitive advantages and achieve high performance by investigating the influence of competence and competitive strategy on the performance and moderating effect of the business environment within special hospitals. Methods : A total of 80 specialized hospitals participated in the study. A multiple regression analysis was carried out by configuring sub-factors for each factor, and a hierarchical regression analysis was conducted with interaction terms as independent variables. Results : Among the competence factors of special hospitals, the competence of hospital staff and business management had a significantly positive (+) effect on the internal performance, and the competence of the marketing management had a significantly positive (+) effect on the external performance. Conclusions : The findings of this study suggest that in the rapidly changing health care environment, special hospitals should select and focus on competitive strategies and competency factors required to ensure competitiveness and achieve high performance, and based on this, need to seek integrated strategic management measures.

Self-care Performance and Influential Factors in Hemodialysis Patients (혈액투석 환자의 자가간호 수행과 영향요인)

  • Purpose: The purpose this study was to investigate the relationship between self-care performance and influential factors in hemodialysis patients. Method: The subjects of this study were 102 hemodialysis outpatients who had been visiting C University Hospital in Seoul. The data were collected through the scale of self care, self efficacy family support, daily living activity and hope from the 1st to 31st of December 2004. The collected data were analysed using SPSS PC Win 10.0. Result: The average score of self-care performance of subjects was $3.2\pm0.4$ points(4points scale) and significantly different among groups according to age and duration of dialysis. Self care performance of subjects was in a significant positive correlation with family support and hope. Factors affecting self care performance of subjects were family support, duration of hemodialysis, age and daily living function, and the explanatory power of these factors was 31.4%. Conclusion: These findings indicate that is necessary to enhance family support, to develope and apply self-care education programs in consideration of duration of dialysis and age, to have hope-giving communication with patients and their families, and to provide nursing interventions for maintaining patients' daily living function in order to improve the self care performance of hemodialysis patients

A Study on the Effect of PMO Involvement on Project Performance (PMO의 관여도가 프로젝트성과에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구)

  • Purpose This study is based on previous studies related to the function and operating system of the project management system for efficient project management. The purpose of the study is, first, to find out how the project performance is affected by the utilization of the project management system and the involvement of the PMO. Second, the mediating effect of implementing integrated management between the project management system and project performance is to be demonstrated. Design/methodology/approach Based on previous studies related to project management, this study designed a research model by integrating functional factors derived from project management system design studies, integrated management factors, and factors derived from PMO function studies. Findings As a result of the empirical analysis, this study first confirmed that high utilization of the project management system and high involvement of the PMO are factors that affect project performance. In addition, it was confirmed that the establishment of the system and the introduction of PMO do not guarantee project performance. Second, it was confirmed that the execution of integrated management has a mediating effect between the system and the project performance, and that the high utilization of the system has a positive effect on the mediating effect.

Factors influencing the level of performance of patient safety nursing activities among hospital nurses

  • Purpose: This study investigated the performance of patient safety activities among hospital nurses and aimed to identify the factors influencing their performance of these activities. Methods: It employed a descriptive survey design, targeting 131 nurses currently working in hospitals. The data collection involved posting a guide to the study on an online social network for nurses (NURSECAPE) and recruiting nurses who understood the content and agreed to participate in the survey. The survey was conducted through a self-reporting method via a URL provided to research participants, and the data collection period was from August 11 to September 11, 2019. Results: The results revealed that 46.6% of the participants had experienced patient safety incidents, with falls being the most common. The factors influencing the performance of patient safety nursing activities among the participants were found to be the type of medical institution, community orientation, and environmental suitability in organizational health. These factors explained 38.5% of the variance. Conclusion: Based on these findings, it appears crucial to explore strategies for improving organizational health tailored to the characteristics of each hospital to facilitate better performance of patient safety activities among hospital nurses. Furthermore, subsequent studies are needed to objectively evaluate the adequacy of patient safety activity performance according to the size of the hospital.

  • It has been required to develop an accurate and reliable evaluation method for the performance of biometric systems as their use is getting popular. Among a number of biometric systems, face recognition is one of the most widely used techniques and this leads to develop a stable evaluation method for face recognition systems in order to standardize the performance of face recognition systems. However, it is considered as a difficult task to evaluation such systems due to a large number of factors that affect their performance. Thus, it may be infeasible to take into account all the environmental factors that are related to the performance of face recognition systems and this naturally suggests an evaluation method for the overall performance based on scenarios. In this paper, we have analyzed environmental factors that are related to the performance of general face recognition systems and proposed their evaluation method taking into account those factors. We have proposed an evaluation method based on scenario that considers the combination of individual environment factors instead of evaluating the performance of face recognition systems regarding each factor. Indeed, we have presented examples on the evaluation of face recognition systems based on scenario that takes into account overall environmental factors.

Impact of Success Factors of Knowledge Management on Management Performance in Agribusiness Cluster (지식경영성공요인이 농산업클러스터 기업의 경영성과에 미치는 영향 -순창장류산업 클러스터를 중심으로-)

  • In the Knowledge-based economy, it is inevitable for companies to implement knowledge management(KM in short) to improve management performance. In order to better understand the KM, it is necessary to examine the relationship between success factors of KM and KM performance in agribusiness sector. This study empirically analyzes the impact of success factors of Knowledge Management on companies' management performance in agribusiness cluster. From the survey data of 43 companies located in Sunchang fermented soybean products Industrial cluster, the study finds that four factors- learning culture, network, knowledge sharing and knowledge creating- influence management performance in a positive way. It also examines whether Industrial cluster strategy functions as a moderator between KM success factors and companies' performance. Furthermore, this study concludes that Sunchang fermented soybean Industrial cluster has not reached to the final stage of KM and suggests elements for further improvements.

A Study on Factors Related to Knowledge Management and Organizational Performance: A Conceptual Model and Implications (지식경영 및 조직성과와 관련된 변인들에 관한 연구: 개념적 모델과 시사점)

  • Although previous studies show that organizational culture and organizational communication could be influential factors in knowledge management and organizational performance, the more integrated research to indicate relationships among all of the factors is still needed. By indicating the inter-relationships among the factors and the direction of the influence, this paper suggests various ways to develop an integrated approach to the improvement of organizational performance through knowledge management and other related factors. Thus, the purpose of this study is to investigate the relationships among national culture, organizational culture, organizational communication, knowledge management, and organizational performance. Based on a comprehensive review of extant literature on the relationships among these factors, the relationships are summarized in the conceptual model. According to the model, organizational performance is influenced by knowledge management, organizational communication, and organizational culture, and knowledge management is influenced by organizational communication and organizational culture. Based on the conceptual model, implications for human resource (HR) researchers and practitioners seeking to optimally improve organizational performance are presented.

The Effect on Conflict Resolution Type and Relationship Performance by Conflict Formation Factors between Convenience Store Franchise Headquarters and Franchise Stores (편의점 가맹본부와 가맹점주의 갈등형성요인이 갈등해결성향과 관계성과에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the factors of conflict formation, conflict resolution type, and relationship performance between convenience store franchise headquarters and franchise stores operated by the franchise system located in the metropolitan area. The conclusion could be summarized as follows. First, according to factor analysis based on the previous research, the factor of conflict between convenience store headquarters and franchisee was tied to three factors such as goal disagreement, doctrinal discrepancy, and interdependence, whereas conflict resolution type was linked to three factors such as cooperation type, attack type, and avoidance type. Finally, the relationship performance is tied to three factors: financial performance, long-term cooperation, and non-financial performance. Second, as a result of Hypothesis 1, the interdependence was positively correlated when the cooperative type was the dependent variable. The target discrepancy was significantly positive(+) when the aggressive type was the dependent variable. The interdependence was significantly negative(-) when the avoidance type was the dependent variable. There also was a significantly positive(+) relationship in the target disagreement. Third, for Hypothesis 2, it is shown that target inconsistency is negative(-) for all cases where financial performance, long-term cooperation, and non-financial performance are dependent variables. Fourth, for Hypothesis 3, when the financial performance is the dependent variable, only the cooperative type shows a positive(+) relationship. On the other hand, when the long-term cooperation and the non-financial aptitude are the dependent variables, the cooperative type has a significant positive(+) relationship.
