방파제 성능개선을 위한 평가항목 개발 (Development of Evaluation Factors for Breakwater Rehabilitation)

  • 국내에서 항만의 방파제는 안전점검 및 안전진단을 통해 기술적 상태평가를 수행하고, 필요 시 해당 시설물에 대해 유지관리를 수행한다. 그러나 최근 생애주기비용(Life Cycle Cost, LCC) 측면에서 기반시설에 대한 관리의 필요성이 증가함에 따라 「지속가능한 기반시설 관리 기본법」이 제정되고, 방파제의 기술적 부분만 평가했던 기존 평가방식에 경제성 평가 및 정책성 평가가 추가되어 성능개선을 통해 방파제에 대한 종합적인 관리가 가능해질 것으로 예측하고 있다. 이러한 이유로 본 연구는 「지속가능한 기반시설 관리 기본법」에서 규정하고 있는 총공사비 500억 미만의 방파제 성능개선사업을 대상으로 성능개선사업의 세부평가항목 및 방법 등을 개발하여 평가방안을 제시하고, 향후 실무에 적용될 성능개선 평가를 위한 방파제 성능개선 평가항목 및 평가방법의 개발 방향을 제시하는 것을 목적으로 연구를 수행하였다. 본 연구는 유지관리 및 성능개선의 개념 검토, 성능개선 관련 문헌조사, 성능개선 공통기준 사업유형 검토, 방파제 성능개선 평가항목 및 평가방법(안) 도출, 전문가 검토 등의 순서로 수행하였으며, 도출한 방파제 성능개선에 대한 평가방안은 지금까지 기술적 상태평가에 국한된 유지관리 업무에 성능개선을 적용한 구체적인 평가방법을 제시한 것으로 시설물의 선제적 관리 및 안전사고 예방에 활용 가능할 것으로 기대된다.

성장과 운동수행능력 향상에 도움을 주는 식이조성물의 개발 (Development of Dietary Supplement for the Growth and Exercise Performance Improvement)

  • We developed a dietary supplement using natural herbs and nutrients for the growth and exercise performance improvement. It called 50-22 supplement containing distilled extracts of natural herbs to remove bitterness and the addition of Vitamin B1, B6, Ca and xylitol. We investigated on the effect of 10-22 supplementation on the maximal exercise performance, IGF-1 (insulin like growth factor-1) concentration and antioxidant activity in SD rat model. In result, JR-22 supplement group was better than control group about 10% in exercise performance test and increased about 63% of IGF-1 concentration in blood. In addition, the oxidative damage induced by exercise was reduced by JR-22 supplementation. Therefore, we suggested that 50-22 supplementation enhanced effectively exercise performance and IGF-1 concentration and reduced to oxidative stress in muscles. Also, we analysed biochemical factors in blood for the safety of JR-22 supplement. We known that there is no change of blood lactic acid, ammonia, inorganic phosphorous ion and creatine kinase activity. (Korean J Community Nutrition 8(3) : 349∼355, 2003)

수주자 관점에서의 정보기술 아웃소싱 위험요소와 성과와의 관계에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Relationship between Outsourcing Risks and Performance for Contractors)

  • Recently, IT outsourcing has been one of the major concerns of many companies. This study proposes a model which composed the outsourcing planning and operational risks affecting the outsourcing performance. Especially, this study focused on the contractors perspective, because the outsourcing risk relative researches are recently performed on the service receivers perspective, contractors perspective researches were relatively lacked. The result of this study, outsourcing planning risks had not affected the outsourcing performance but it had positively affected the operational risks. And also, the outsourcing operational risks had negatively affected the outsourcing performance. For this reason, It is necessary to reduced planning risk induction for the outsourcing performance improvement. Because the planning risks positively affect the operational risks, it is necessary to reduced planning risk induction for the outsourcing performance improvement.

조직 성숙도 수준과 성과 향상을 위한 소프트웨어 프로세스 개선의 성공 요인 (The Antecedents of Software Process Improvement for Organizational Capability Maturity and Performance)

  • SPI (Software Process Improvement) activities have been considered one of the crucial approaches to achieve high quality, productivity and timely delivery of software products and services. The basic premise of SPI model is that higher maturity levels lead to better performance. In this research, the relationships between SPI results and performance were empirically investigated with Korean software companies. CMM key process areas were categorized into two dimensions, "Process Implementation" and "Quantitative Management". The relationship between process implementation and performance was significant, but the relationship between quantitative management and performance was insignificant. The control variable, size of OU(Organizational Unit), did not have significant impact on the relationships between SPI activities and OU performance.

  • This paper presents a numerical study on the overall performance and local flow characteristics of the sirocco fan. The effects of impeller and volute shape distribution on the performance of the sirocco fan were numerically studied using a commercial CFD code and a DOE (design of experiments) software. At present, our attention was focused on the relation of the results of DOE and the performance of the sirocco fan. As a main result of the optimization, the performance of the sirocco fan was successfully improved. Also, detailed effects of geometric parameter of impeller and volute in the sirocco fan were discussed.

산업용 수직펌프의 흡입성능 향상 연구 (A Study of NPSH Required Performance Improvement for a Industrial Vertical Pump)

  • In this paper, a study of performance improvement for a centrifugal vertical pump having specific speed of 330 is introduced. The existing model has high efficiency but needs better NPSH required performance. Such that new pump model is designed to obtain larger suction specific speed. 6 design parameters considered to affect pump performance are selected for impeller design. Key design parameters are investigated using by design of experiments and CFD, and impeller inlet diameter is increased to get better suction performance. The amount of inlet diameter increase is determined by using cavitation analysis. The results show that new design model has higher efficiency and better NPSH required performance than the existing model.

Space-Time Carrier Interferometry Techniques with Low-density Parity Check Code for High-speed Multimedia Communications

  • Carrier interferometry code is considered as a promising scheme that provides significant performance improvement via frequency diversity effect. Space-time coding is commonly employed to achieve a performance gain through space diversity. The combination of these techniques and forward error correction coding will lead to enhanced system capacity and performance. This paper presents a low-density parity check (LDPC) coded space-time orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) transmission scheme with carrier interferometry code for high-capacity and high-performance mobile multimedia communications. Computer simulations demonstrate that the proposed mobile multimedia transmission system offers a considerable performance improvement of approximately 9dB in terms of Eb/No in the Rayleigh fading channel with relatively low delay spread, in comparison with space-time OFDM. Performance gains are further increased, comparing with traditional OFDM systems.

  • Five reinforced concrete frames were constructed and tested to study the structural performance of retrofitting effect reinforced concrete frame during and load revesals simultaneously. All specimens were modeling in one-third scale size. Experimental research was carried out to develop and evaluate the hysteretic behavior of reinforced concrete frame designed by high performance techniques, using carbon fiber plate, ALC panel, steel plate system with or without stiffener. Experimental programs wore carried to evaluate the structural performance of such test specimens, such as the hysteretic behavior, the maximum horizontal strength, crack propagation, and ductility etc. Specimens(RFCP, RFAR, RFSR, RFSR-S), designed by the improvement of earthquake-resistant performance, were attained more load-carrying capacity, energy dissipation capacity, and stable hysteretic behavior.

멀티프로그래밍 환경에서의 새로운 DRAM 구조의 성능 분석 (Performance Evaluation of the New DRAM Architectures in Multiprogramming Environment)

  • In the design of modern computer systems, the speed gap between the CPUs and DRAMs has been a major concern. To relieve this problem at a low cost, several new DRAM architectures have been proposed. This study is aimed at evaluating quantitatively the impact of the new DRAM architectures (synchronous DRAM. dual-RAS synchronous DRAM, and enhanced DRAM) on the memory system performance. We developed a cache and memory simulator and performed various experiments using the traces generated from four benchmark programs. The simulation results show that the new DRAM architectures offer a better performance than a conventional one by 5~30% in a low cost system and their improvement in a high performance system is less than 1%. However, for resonable multiprogramming workoads, additional performance improvement of about 10~28% is expected in a high performance system while 1~3% in a low cost system.
