  • In this work, we propose a new framework of robot control for a variety of applications to our unstructured everyday environments. Programming robots can be a very time-consuming process and seems almost impossible for ordinary end users. To cope with this, this work is to provide a software framework for building robot application programs automatically, where we have robots learn how to accomplish a commanded task from the object. An integrated sensing and computing tag is embedded into every single object in the environment. In the robot controller, only the basic software libraries for low-level robot motion control are provided from the robot manufacturer. The main contributions of this work is to develop a server platform that we call Omniscient Server that generates the application programs and send them to the robot controller through the network. The object-related information from the object server merges into robot control software to generate a detailed application program based on the task commands from the human. We have built a test bed and demonstrated that a robot can perform a common household task within the proposed framework.

  • The availability of in vivo and in sacco degradability values are limited because those methods require work with fistulated animals and are rather complicated, labour intensive and expensive. That is to say, the dynamics and logistics of the methodology result in considerable work, due to limitations on the amount of samples, number of bags that can be placed in an animal and different time intervals to perform kinetic studies. Therefore, a simpler method is necessary to estimate the degradation characteristics of the feed. In this way, near infrared reflectance spectroscopy has been used to predict degradation characteristics of forages. In other hand, the possibility of achieving successful transfer of spectra and equations between instruments is closely related. The objective of this study was to confirm the potential of NIR to optimize work conditions to avoid duplicated efforts in collaborative trials on animal feeds evaluation between research institutions. For this purpose, one set with forty hays and dehydrated forages samples from SERIDA and ten samples with the same characteristics from SIA, were be used to create a spectral database. A calibration was developed using samples from degradation essays made in SERIDA to predict dry matter and crude protein degradability. With the addition of five samples from SIA in original calibration set, the effect of different origin and location was compensated.

Recognition of Designer's role between Designers and Non-designers

  • General recognition on the role of a designer has differently changed according to the age and region respectively. This research has clarified general recognition on a designer's role among a designer, experts that designers mainly perform co-work and an ordinary people in a period when the design identity is more confused than any other time. The results of this research are as follows. First, the 13 definitions on a role of a designer in a company were identified through field interview survey by presidents and practical responsible persons in design-specialized companies. Second, it was proved whether there is a difference in recognition on a role of a designer between designers and non-designers. Third, this research divided a group of non-designers into two groups such as a design job-related group mainly performing co-work with designer, and an ordinary people's group that doesn't major design. After that, this research found out the most sympathizing definition on a role of a designer at a company in three groups divided into a designer's group, a design job-related group and an ordinary people's group. The awareness on the role of designer was more objectively regulated three-dimensionally in all aspects of a designers group and a non-designers group. In addition, the findings of recognition difference of each group on a designer's role will help comprehensive understanding on each experts group and an ordinary people. The findings of the research will help in performing co-work of designers and non-designers in design decisionmaking based on understanding of this recognition.

  • True process collaboration can be accomplished through seamless integration of business processes and enterprise knowledge. Therefore, it is natural that the concept of Business Operating System (BOS), proposed by Delphi Group in 1994, is currently considered as a next evolutionary step for Business Process Management System (BPMS). Literature reports very little work, however, especially, on a comprehensive architecture of the system. This paper proposes an architecture of BOS with the following definition: ' BOS is an intelligent activity supporting system that provides a comprehensive and personalized work environment to each knowledge-intensive worker. ' To propose an architecture of BOS, the paper first identifies and classifies functional requirements for Business Operating System. Then, it proposes a data model and an architecture of the system to satisfy the functional requirements. The proposed architecture focuses on two essential technical requirements. First, the system should provide an effective means to integrate data and processes and to standardize distributed component systems. Secondly, the system should also be intelligent enough to assist workers to perform their knowledge-intensive work. The paper shows how these requirements can be achieved by using Semantic Web and Web Service.

근골격계 질환 예방을 위한 하지의 불균형 작업자세에서 근전도를 이용한 하지 근육의 작업부하 평가 (The Evaluation of Workload on Lower Limbs Muscles in Imbalanced Lower Limbs Postures Using EMG for Preventing WMSDs)

  • Work related musculoskeletal disorders(WMSDs) was a leading cause of sick leave and injuries in the industries of our country. Posture was an important consideration in the design of work method and workplaces, because it affected the ability of workers to use various equipments and influenced how long they could perform their job without feeling discomfort, fatigue, and musculoskeletal disorders. Imbalanced lower limb postures such as a squatting posture were awkward working postures common to the shipbuilding shops, farms, automobiles assembly lines in our country. Different awkward working postures were known to be associated with specific musculoskeletal disorders. Eight postures in lower limb postures divided into balanced and imbalanced postures were evaluated by electromyographic(EMG) activity for lower limb muscles. Twelve male subjects participated in this study. This paper was to analyze the effects of lower limb muscles workload according to lower limb postures(knee angle) and working time. The ANOVA results showed that most EMG root mean square(RMS) values were statistically significant effect according to lower limb postures(knee angle) and working time. Therefore, the results of this study will provide the basis to evaluate workload of lower limb postures correctly adopted by workers in various jobs and the ergonomic reference to prevent WMSDs.

패션디자이너 직무수행을 위해 필요한 지식수준에 관한 연구 - 한국과 미국을 중심으로 - (The Level of Knowledge Required to Fulfill the Task of Fashion Design -A Cross-cultural Study between South Korea and the United States -)

  • Employees overseas have a need to prepare according to the different environments and industrial structures between countries. Therefore, to investigate qualities for fashion designers to possess when they work abroad, especially in the United States, this study compared the level of knowledge required to fulfill the work of fashion design in both South Korea and the United States. Responses from workers who are engaged to fashion design from the representative online career information systems of two countries, 'Worknet' in South Korea and '$O^*Net$' in the United States, were used as data. Looking at the result derived from the analysis of this study, first by comparing various statistical indicators, results showed the difference between knowledge level required to fashion designer in South Korea and in the United States. Even with the same type of job, because environments and industrial structures of each country are dissimilar, a different level of knowledge will be required in order to perform their tasks. Second, fashion designers in both South Korea and the United States required a high level of knowledge in the 'fine arts', 'administration and management', 'production and processing', and 'design' to perform their duties as a fashion designer. As a result, both countries have similarities that fashion designers need to possess a high level of the knowledge in areas such as 'production of products' as well as 'sales of products'. Furthermore, human relationship field of knowledge such as 'counseling', 'psychology', and 'communication' appeared to be more necessary to fashion designers in South Korea than those in the United States. On the other hand, higher degree of knowledge of 'machines and tools', ' fine arts', and 'transportation' appeared to be more necessary to fashion designers in the United States than those in South Korea.

치과위생사 수행업무에 관한 치과의사의 견해조사 (A survey of dentists' opinions on the performance of dental hygienists)

  • This study examined the opinions of dentists on dental hygienists' practice and attempted to use it as the basis for the revision and modification of the legal system associated with dental hygienists. The subjects of this study were a total 15 dentists, including two from Gyeonggi, two from Gangwon, two from Gyeongsang, two from Jeolla, two from Chungcheong, and two from Seoul, who were surveyed face-to-face. This study revealed that from the perspective of dentists, the most important job of dental hygienists was scaling, and the most difficult job was patient counseling and response. From the perspective of dentists, there is a difference between what the dental hygienists actually perform and what is legal, and there is a high need for change. The inclusion of dental hygienists in the category of medical personnel should be accomplished to cover the practice of dental care support, and dentists opinionated that it is appropriate for dental hygienists to be included in the category of medical personnel because they directly perform oral health-related procedures. A careful review of the dental hygienists' scope of work should be performed to ensure that revisions to the law are made in accordance with the dental hygienists' actual practice. Further, it is necessary to revise the Medical Law and include dental hygienists among the medical personnel and simultaneously revise the scope of work of dental hygienists to reflect the actual dental practice.

경호분야 국가직무능력표준(NCS) 개발에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Development of National Competency Steandards(NCS) in the Guard)

  • 산업현장에서 직무를 수행하기 위해 요구되는 지식 기술 소양 등의 교육훈련 내용을 체계화하여 직무를 성공적으로 수행할 수 있도록 하는 직무능력표준 개발은, 재교육을 통해 재차 투자되는 시간과 비용의 해결과 산업현장에서 요구하는 양질의 인력을 양성할 수 있다는 점에서 그 필요성이 대두되었다. 본 연구는 국가직무능력표준(NCS) 분류체계를 기준으로 세분류 중 업무와 직무를 1:1로 분류한 경호분야에 대하여 직무수행자를 중심으로 한 교육훈련과정 개발을 위해, 실제업무와의 '상관성'과 경과의 '적용성' 및 비용과 시간에 대한 '효율성'이 고려되는 작업자 중심 직무분석인 DACUM 기법과 국가직무능력표준(NCS) 개발 매뉴얼을 활용하여 경호분야 교육의 현장적합성을 제고하고, 산업체가 요구하는 실질적인 교육훈련과정 개발을 제안한다.

가족관계 형성기의 다문화가족을 위한 부부교육 프로그램 개발 (Development of Marital Education Program for Multi-cultural Family in a Formative Period of Family Relations)

  • Under the influence of globalization, South Korea has seen a sharp rise in interracial families. South Korean society faces various difficulties since it has not prepared for the stable settlement of families. Therefore, it is necessary to initiate marital education for the settlement of multi-cultural families in a healthy and democratic way. This researcher has developed a marital education program for multi-cultural families. To reflect the special characteristics, this work required the investigation of multi-cultural families in Gyeongsangbuk-do. The purpose of this work is to improve conjugal relations among multi-cultural families in a formative period of family relations to help those families to settle down early. The program consisted of four steps and 12 sessions. It featured an increase in application flexibility to an actual site by session, and includes a worksheet applicable to an actual site to understand the absence of communication and cultural differences in multi-cultural families during a formative period of family relations. In so doing, it was designed to easily perform nonverbal education. This work is expected to contribute to an improvement in conjugal relations of multi-cultural families in a formative period of family relations and help those families to settle down in a stable way.

고용불안정과 가구소득 대비 개인 의료비 지출 비중의 연관성 (Relationship between Work Unstability and Personal Medical Expenditure Ratio)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to identify relationship between work unstability and personal medical expenditure ratio focusing on wage workers' contract period. Method: This study analyzed 2015 yearly data beta version of Korea Health Panel, co-managed by Korea Institute for Health and Social Affairs and National Insurance Corporation for data analysis. When executing linear regression, Household income was applied with equivalized income, and the proportion of personal medical expenditure was naturally logged to perform linear regression and the demographic and socioeconomic factors were taken into account. The demographic and socio-economic factors were also considered. Findings: As a result of reviewing the used factors, it was found that the more unstable work status, the higher personal medical expenditure ratio. This result corresponds to 'The Theory of Fundamental Causes' by Link & Phelan. Conclusion : It indicates that policy efforts should be made to improve the working environment and health level of socially unstable workers.
