대학생의 라이프케어를 위한 감각처리특성과 여가참여유형, 작업참여인식 및 삶의 질과의 관련성 (The Relationship between Sensory Processing Feature, Leisure Participation Type, Perception of Occupational Participation and Quality of Life for University Students' Life Care)

  • 본 연구는 국내 대학생을 대상으로 라이프케어를 위한 감각처리특성과 여가참여유형, 작업참여인식 그리고 삶의 질과의 상관관계에 대해 알아보고자 하였다. 대학생을 169명을 대상으로 2019년 2월부터 동년 3월까지 설문조사를 실시하였다. 감각처리는 청소년/성인 감각프로파일(Adolescent/Adult Sensory Profole)로, 여가참여유형은 여가활동 질문지로, 작업참여인식은 작업자가평가(Occupational Self Assessment)로, 삶의 질은 삶의 만족 척도(Satisfaction With Life Scale)로 평가하였다. 감각처리특성과 여가참여유형, 작업참여인식 및 삶의 만족 척도와의 관련성은 피어슨 상관분석을 사용하였다. 감각처리특성 중 등록저하와 스포츠, 감각찾기와 스포츠, 사교활동 및 관광 사이에 유의한 양의 상관관계가 나타났다. 그리고 작업참여인식에서 작업수행은 등록저하, 감각예민, 감각회피와 유의한 음의 상관관계를 나타냈다. 취미교양과 관람, 사교활동은 작업참여인식과 유의한 양의 상관관계를 보였다. 작업참여인식과 삶의 질은 양의 상관관계로 나타났다(p<.05, p<.01). 감각처리특성은 여가참여유형, 작업참여인식 그리고 삶의 질과 상관관계를 나타내었다. 앞으로의 연구에서는 감각처리특성에 기반한 여가활동, 작업참여 및 삶의 질을 향상시키는 평가도구개발이 이루어져야 할 것이다.

직업에 대한 아동의 성별 고정관념의 인식 (Children's Perceptions of Occupational Sex-Stereotypes)

  • The purpose of the present research was to study (1) children's sex-stereotyped perception toward adult occupations, and (2) the impact of traditional sex-stereotypes on future occupational preference. The subjects of this study were 120 children, 3 to 8 years of age enrolled in kindergatens and elementary schools. The instrument was developed by the researcher and consisted of 10 occupations which are traditionally sex-typed in Korean society. 5 male and female sex-typed occupations were selected with the participation of 200 college students. These occupations were illustrated on 10 pictorial cards, and short verbal explanations were given for each of them. It was found that: (1) Levels of children's perception of occupational sex stereotypes show that children aged five to six are marked comparatively higher than those aged three to four in the perception of occupation, children of seven to eight age indicate slightly downward; however, they are not differed significantly from those of five to six. (2) As far as levels of children'5 perception of occupational sex stereotypes aged three to four, five to six and seven to eight are concerned, interaction between age and sex was not shown significantly. Female children were more stereotyped at almost all age levels. (3) Irrespective of sex and age, all subjects were more familiar with male than with female occupations. (4) in the choice of future occupations, boys as well as girls preferred sex-stereotyped occupations for themselves. Boy's choices were more stereotyped than girls', but the number of kinds of occupations chosen by boys and by girls was not different. (5) There was an increase with age in the number of children who gave future occupational choices.

Risk Assessment of Physical Hazards in Greek Hospitals Combining Staff's Perception, Experts' Evaluation and Objective Measurements

  • Objectives: The promotion of health and safety (H&S) awareness among hospital staff can be applied through various methods. The aim of this study was to assess the risk level of physical hazards in the hospital sector by combining workers' perception, experts' evaluation and objective measurements. Methods: A cross-sectional study was designed using multiple triangulation. Hospital staff (n = 447) filled in an H&S questionnaire in a general hospital in Athens and an oncology one in Thessaloniki. Experts observed and filled in a checklist on H&S in the various departments of the two hospitals. Lighting, noise and microclimate measurements were performed. Results: The staff's perception of risk was higher than that of the experts in many cases. The measured risk levels were low to medium. In cases of high-risk noise and lighting, staff and experts agreed. Staff's perception of risk was influenced by hospital's department, hospital's service, years of working experience and level of education. Therefore, these factors should be taken into account in future studies aimed at increasing the participation of hospital workers. Conclusion: This study confirmed the usefulness of staff participation in the risk assessment process, despite the tendency for staff to overestimate the risk level of physical hazards. The combination of combining staff perception, experts' evaluation and objective measures in the risk assessment process increases the efficiency of risk management in the hospital environment and the enforcement of relevant legislation.

특수건강진단에 대한 근로자의 인식과 태도에 영향을 미치는 요인 (Factors Influencing Workers' Perception and Attitude Toward Special Periodic Health Screening Test)

  • 특수건강진단에 대한 근로자들의 태도에 영향을 미치는 요인들을 조사하기 위해 대구지역의 29개 사업장에서 특수건강진단 수검근로자들에게 자기기입식 설문조사를 실시하여 그중 779명을 대상으로 하여 분석하였다. 건강믿음모형을 일부 변형하여, 특수건강진단에의 자발적 수검 여부와 필요성 인지를 최종적인 종속변수로 한 새로운 연구모형을 만들어서 이들에 영향을 미치는 요인들을 분석하였다. 특수건강진단에 대한 필요성 인지율은 77.2%, 자발적 수검율은 79.2%로 나타났다. 자발적 수검 여부에는 특수건강진단에 대한 필요성 인지, 유익성, 행동계기가 주요 영향요인으로 제시되었으며, 특수건강진단에 대한 필요성 인지에는 직업병에 대한 감수성 및 심각성, 특수건강진단에 대한 지식, 회사의 지지도가 통계적으로 유의한 영향을 미쳤다. 직업병에 대한 감수성 및 심각성에는 성, 연령, 학력, 직업경력, 보건교육경험이, 특수건강진단에 대한 지식에는 연령, 학력, 직업경력, 질병통제위가, 특수건강진단에 대한 유익성에는 연령, 질병통제위, 건강자부심, 보건교육경험이 유의한 영향을 미치는 변수로 나타났다. 이러한 결과로 미루어 볼 때 특수건강진단에 대한 자발적 수검률과 필요성 인지율을 높이기 위해서는, 직업병 판정을 받은 사업장에서는 그 사실을 널리 알려 직업병에 대한 경각심을 높여야 하며, 특수건강진단의 결과를 근로자 본인에게 바로 통보하여야 하고, 회사의 적극성을 높이기 위해 회사간부 대상의 홍보 및 교육 프로그램이 필요할 것으로 생각된다. 보건교육 경험이 특수건강진단에 대한 지식과 유익성, 직업병에 대한 감수성 및 심각성에 영향을 미치는 것으로 보아, 앞으로의 보건교육은 여성, 저연령, 저학력, 저경력자 위주로 이루어져야 하고, 교육 실시 횟수를 늘이고 직업관련 내용을 더 많이 포함하여야 할 것으로 생각된다. 더불어 특수건강진단의 결과로 인해 근로자 본인에게 불이익이 돌아가지 않도록 배려되어야 할 것이다.

인지프로그램 참여에 따른 독거노인들의 인지기능과 건강관련 삶의 질의 변화 (Changes of Cognitive Function and Health-related Quality of Life among the Elderly Living alone through the Participation in Cognitive Program)

  • 연구목적은 독거노인들의 인지프로그램 참여에 따른 인지기능과 건강관련 살의 질의 변화를 분석하는 데 있다. 연구대상은 독거노인 35명이며, 8주간 인지프로그램에 규칙적으로 참여하였다. 인지기능에 대한 평가로 Loewenstein occupational therapy cognitive assessment battery-Geriatic population(LOTCA-G)를 활용하여 지남력, 시지각, 공간지각, 운동실행, 시각운동 조직력, 사고조직력, 집중력을 평가하였다. 건강관련 삶의 질은 Short form-8 health survey(SF-8)를 활용하여 전반적 건강상태를 포함하여 신체기능과 역할, 통증, 활력, 사회기능, 정신건강과 정서역할을 평가하였다. 분석결과 인지프로그램 참여에 따른 인지기능과 건강관련 삶의 질이 통계적으로 유의미하게 향상되었다. 독거노인들의 인지기능과 건강관련 삶의 질을 향상시키기 위해서 인지프로그램의 참여를 고려해야 할 것이다.

The Effect of Driving Simulator Program on Elderly Drivers

  • The purpose of the present study was to present evidence for driving interventions for the elderly by conducting programs that can improve visual perception and cognitive function in a driving simulator for elderly drivers and analyse their effects. Three elderly subjects who were 65 years or older, did not have physical and cognitive impairments, and were able to drive themselves participated in the present study. A total of 12 intervention sessions, of which subjects participated in 10 sessions of nine different visual perception and cognitive function programs available in a driving simulator, were conducted and pre- and post-program assessments were conducted (two assessments in total). The assessments included the evaluation of visual perception, frontal lobe function, concentration, safe driving behaviour, and self-efficacy. The results showed positive effects of the driving simulator program on the visual perception, frontal lobe function, concentration, safe driving behaviour, and self-efficacy of all subjects. Changes in the simulator results showed remarkable improvement in the response evaluation, judgment evaluation, and predictive power evaluation, but showed difficulties in interference tasks and depth perception in common. The results showed positive effects of driving simulator training on the driving ability of the elderly, and consistent provision of such training is expected to improve the quality of life of the elderly by securing the safety of driving and actively supporting social participation.

중추신경계 손상환자의 운전자 재활에 대한 인식과 필요성 연구 (The Study of Perception and Necessity of Driver Rehabilitation in Patients with CNS Injury)

  • Purpose: For patients with CNS injury who are restricted in the use of public transportation, car driving means more than simple movements and is essential for their independent lives, such as participation in society and returning to jobs. Therefore, in order to enhance the quality of life of disabled persons, their high perception and necessity of driving rehabilitation are required. The purpose of this study is to determine the perception and necessity of driver rehabilitation in patients with CNS injury. Methods: In order to survey the perception of patients with CNS injury and necessity of driving rehabilitation, questionnaires were distributed to patients with CNS injury. Questionnaires were composed of demographic characteristics, disability related characteristics, and driver's license related characteristics. Results: Our results showed that the number of driving participants with a driver's license for the disabled was significantly higher than that for non- driving participants with a previous general driver's license in the perception of driving rehabilitation. Conclusion: We suggest that driving rehabilitation for patients with CNS injury should be supported in terms of evaluation and treatment.

작업치료사를 대상으로 한 노인 인식 및 의사소통 현황 (Occupational Therapists' Perception and Communication of the Elderly)

  • 목적 : 국내의 빠른 고령화로 인하여 노인 인구가 증가하고 있고, 작업치료의 주요 영역들에서 노인들과의 대면하는 비율이 높은 현 상황에서 작업치료사들을 대상으로 노인들에 대한 전반적 인식 및 노인들과의 의사소통 현황을 파악하고자 하였다. 연구방법 : 2020년 4월부터 6월까지 전국의 병원 및 보건소 등에서 노인들을 대상으로 중재를 제공하는 작업치료사들을 대상으로 온라인 설문을 활용하여 데이터를 수집하였다. 노인에 대한 인식, 노인과의 의사소통 저해요소, 노인과의 의사소통 방식을 묻는 3종의 질문지를 배포하였으며 최종 82부를 자료 분석에 활용하였다. 결과 : 작업치료사의 노인에 대한 인식은 대체적으로 부정적인 항목인 높은 것으로 나타났다. 또한 노인들과의 의사소통 저해요소로서 청각 관련, 언어이해 관련, 조음 관련 순으로 응답하였다. 노인들과의 의사소통 방식을 확인한 결과 작업치료사들은 대화반응 관리, 정서표현, 이해증진, 관계조절 순으로 노인들과의 원활한 의사소통을 유도하는 것으로 나타났다. 결론 : 작업치료사들은 대상자들의 사회참여와 삶의 질 증진에 주요한 역할을 수행하는 보건의료전문가인 만큼 노인들의 의사소통 방식 및 자신의 의사소통 기술에 대해 면밀히 파악하고, 개선된 의사소통 방법을 통하여 전문적인 치료적 중재 및 관련 교육들을 제공해야 할 것이다.

The Experience of Miners Relocated to Alternative Positions due to Silicosis in the Andean of CODELCO, Chile, 2010

  • Objectives: To understand the personal experiences of mine workers that have experienced job relocation due to silicosis at the Andina Division of Corporaci$\acute{o}$n Nacional del Cobre (CODELCO), Chile. The purpose of the study was to provide useful information for the development of new local, business and public policies for the care of workers with silicosis. Methods: A qualitative study based on a practical case study of 5 workers. The information was collected by means of structured individual interviews. The method of analysis was phenomenology. Results: The corporal axis was the most commented upon. It included awareness of the illness, body pains, fatigue, and antagonistic mood disorders (sadness, or the difficulty in finding meaning in life). As far as personal relationships, there was evidence of strong relationships with family, coworkers and friends, as well as extended family. Over all, the experience of relocation was positive with periods of impatience and uncertainty. The job reassignment provided a new and pleasant context for the relocated workers and in the process improved their perception of their quality of life. Conclusions: A multidisciplinary team should attend mine workers relocated because of silicosis by addressing the mental and physical aspects of their disease, along with the integral participation of close family members. It is suggested that this investigation be maintain over time to record the personal experiences in the medium-term, adding new cases with the intention of shedding more light on the phenomenon being studied. As a preventive measure, continual workshops are needed on the proper use of respiratory protection in addition, a group of monitors is required.

Implementation of ISO45001 Considering Strengthened Demands for OHSMS in South Korea: Based on Comparing Surveys Conducted in 2004 and 2018

  • Background: According to the previous studies, the work-related accident rate decreased in Korea after the introduction of occupational health and safety management system (OHSMS), but there were several disasters in Korea such as subway worker's death at Guui station in 2016 and the Taean thermal power plant accident in 2018, which escalated the social demand for safety. In 2018, OHSMS became an international standard, as ISO45001 was announced. Methods: A survey was conducted to research the implementation status of OHSMS and changes in people's perception, and the results were compared with those of a past survey. Results: Enhanced social demand and various stakeholders' (not only buyer) needs, and social responsibility are perceived as the motivation for the introduction of OHSMS rather than legal compliance or customer demand. In the questionnaire about problems with the implementation of OHSMS, the factors with higher response rate in 2018 than 2004 were "excessive cost" and "complicated documentation management." In the questionnaire about how to promote OHSMS in organizations, most people answered "reduction of workers' compensation insurance rate" in 2004, but most people answered "exemption from health and safety supervision" in 2018. Conclusion: For the effective implementation of ISO45001, emphasis is placed on social demand, training to recognize health and safety as a part of management, and the reduction of certification and consulting costs to promote the introduction of OHSMS. Incentives such as insurance premium cuts and exemptions from health and safety supervision are needed.
