공공과 민간 주거복지 현장전문가 인터뷰를 통한 청주시 주거복지서비스 실태 및 개선요구 분석 (Analysis of Housing Welfare Service Situation and Demands for Improvement in Cheongju through Interviews of Housing Welfare Field Specialists in Public and Private Sectors)

  • This study aimed to explore housing welfare service situation in City of Cheongju, Chungbuk, and assess demands for the service improvement through interviews of public and private field specialists in order to seek practical implications for enhancement of housing welfare policy and system in Cheongju. In December 2016, a series of personal and focus group interviews using semi-structured questionnaires were conducted to total 10 specialists who were currently providing and housing services. Major findings and implications are as follow. (1) City's own housing survey and database construction are in need for development and implementation of housing welfare service programs serving local needs effectively and efficiently. (2) The field specialists perceived importance of realignment of service system and to establishment of the Cheongju housing welfare center as a control tower of the services. (3) It is required to provide various opportunities to strengthen the specialists' competence through education, training and networking and to arrange persons in charge of housing programs in every community-level self-government. (4) The specialists showed their strong interests in introduction of diverse housing welfare services and programs.

비건 패션제품 구매의도 결정요인 - 수정된 계획행동모델의 적용 - (Determinants of purchase intention for vegan fashion products - Application of the modified planned behavior model -)

  • This study explores determinants of purchase intentions for vegan fashion products based on the modified planned behavior model. Survey data from 434 university students were subjected to an analysis using descriptive statistics, factor analysis, and structural equation modeling. The results showed that almost half of the consumers surveyed recognized vegan fashion products and a little more than a half of consumers surveyed had purchase experience for vegan fashion products. Clothing, bags, and shoes are the most frequently purchased vegan fashion product categories. From the results of the model test, purchase intentions on vegan fashion products were determined by attitude, subjective norms, ethical responsibility, and ethical identity of the consumers. When consumers have a more positive attitude, have higher subjective norms, stronger ethical responsibility, and stronger ethical identity regarding the purchase of vegan fashion products, they are likely to have a greater intention to purchase vegan fashion products. The findings contribute to the literature by adding test results for vegan fashion products among the ethical product categories, highlighting the importance of the consideration of product category, which can give somewhat different results when exploring ethical consumption. Based on these findings, marketers need to use special tags or signage highlighting the ethical values and meanings of vegan fashion products to better communicate with target consumers with a high level of ethical responsibility and to help increase consumers' control over purchase behaviors through reducing barriers generated by insufficient product information.

공동주택 거주 고령자의 건강주거 인식특성 및 요구에 관한 연구 (The Elderly's Perspectives on Apartments as a Healthy Home Environments)

  • This study focuses on a concrete understanding of the characteristics of perceptions and needs about healthy housing of the elderly, who represent the most vulnerable group of people in society, on the four evaluation dimensions of healthy housing as part of the research for evaluation indicators development for housing health performance in apartments. First, it was found that the elderly perceive an environment where their physical health is well supported as the most important factor for healthy housing. Additionally, the management support of the housing was perceived as the second most important consideration. Second, the most frequently used area for the elderly is the living room and a desired place to be added to indoor spaces was a room of their own or a 'living room', which clearly indicates the importance of the indoor environment for the elderly. Third, the biggest factor for the interior environment that affected the satisfaction level of the elderly in their housing was largely based on the convenience factor that helped lesson the discomfort in their daily life due to the physical aging process, and also on factors related to the pleasant indoor surroundings. Based on the concepts discovered in this study on healthy housing, more concrete items should be developed in the future for an extensive indicator for health performance evaluation, and actual research on the general public should follow suit.

공과대학 학생들의 창의성교육에 관한 인식 (College of Engineering Students' Perception on Creativity Education)

  • There have been various educational approaches to foster students' creativity in engineering colleges, but little has been conducted based on empirical study results of students' perception on creativity education. This study aims to explore the students' perception on creativity in engineering such as characteristics of creative engineers, the level of individual or group creativity and creative education in engineering colleges. According to the survey results of 538 respondents, engineering students considered three factors such as 'innovative driven', 'eager for high intellectuality', 'activity expression' as characteristics of creative engineer. They evaluated both of individual or group creativity levels as subnormal. They perceived the importance of creativity education, but were not satisfied with current creativity educational experiences. They pointed out 'limited supports of nation or organization', 'credit system decided by the paper-based exam', 'non-systematized creativity classes' as impending factors for creativity in engineering education. Students suggested 'securing the budget for practice and field participation', 'changing of perception on creativity education itself', 'developing the creativity classes combined with engineering subjects' as fostering factors in creativity education. This studdy suggests several implications of educational approaches to creativity education in engineering colleges.

지역기관을 활용한 중·고등학교 융합인재교육(STEAM) 프로그램 개발 및 적용 (A Study on Development and Application of STEAM Program for Middle and High School Students using Local Institution(KAIST))

  • With the 4th Industrial Revolution, educational change is required to cultivate the ability to adapt in the rapidly changing future. Accordingly, the importance of nurturing convergent talents to create new values using the humanities imagination, science and technology creativity, and engineering problem solving ability has emerged. The purpose of this study is to develop STEAM education program with Daedeok R&D Zone and KAIST resources for middle school and high school level. With this program, we investigated the effectivenss of STEAM education on creative problem solving ability, self-efficacy and the perception of STEAM education with pre-test and poste-test model. For this study, 91 students(46 middle school, 45 high school) participated in STEAM education program. As a result student participated in the STEAM program improved the creative problem-solving ability and students' interest in math and science. Also, students perceived STEAM program provided benefits of science-related career information. The suggestions were discussed based on the results.

학령전기 아동의 스마트폰 중독수준 관련 요인 (Related Factors of Smartphone Addiction among Preschool Children)

  • Objectives: This descriptive study was aimed to investigate the related factors of smartphone addiction among preschool children. Methods: The subject of study was 186 smartphone using mothers with children between 3 to 6 years old in Busan. Data were collected with self-administered questionnaires from July to November, 2013 at nurseries, preschools, and cultural center. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t test, ANOVA, and stepwise multiple regression. Results: 79.6% of children have ever used smartphone and mean smartphone addiction of them were 26.77 based on 60 points. The related factors of smartphone addiction among children were the children's smartphone usage time per day (less than 0.5 hours vs 0.5-0.9 hours (p=0.004), less than 0.5 hours vs more than 1.0 hours (p<0.001), mother's smartphone addiction (p<0.001), and perceived mother's permission level compared to other children's mothers (p=0.004), which 3 factors explained 39% of variance of smartphone addiction of children. Conclusions: Considering the related factors of smartphone addiction among preschool children, mothers should recognize the importance of the their use smartphone and attitude toward smartphone use of children, and take measure to limit children's excessive use of smartphone.

Consumer awareness about mask repurchase intention during coronavirus: The case of Chinese sample

  • The worldwide coronavirus pandemic has brought to light the importance of having a reliable supply of masks for each person. This study aims to understand the effect of personal awareness (including community, others', and safety awareness) on consumption conformity and the repurchase intention of masks. The research method used the SPSS 22.0 and AMOS 22.0 statistical systems to analyze descriptive statistics in terms of reliability, validity, structural equation modeling, and moderated regression analysis. A total of 272 Chinese participants were recruited via an online survey website (www.sojump.com) from May 1 to May 14, 2020. Findings indicated that mask users' awareness can be categorized into three distinct types: community, others', and safety awareness. The more community and safety awareness is perceived, the higher the level of consumption conformity. In contrast, others' has no statistical effect on consumption conformity or repurchase intention. The positive influence of consumption conformity on the repurchase intention of masks is also weaker than price perception. However, another moderating variable, mask quality, has no moderating effect. The results of this study can help mask manufacturers and distributors retain their customers, resulting in reasonable protective measures while maintaining market order. Theoretical and managerial implications for mask suppliers are also provided.

The Differential Benefits of Reputed Generalists CEOs over Tenure

  • Purpose - The purpose of this study was to explores how CEO general human capital, one of the most critical issues in recent research, affects compensation schemes. Design/methodology/approach - This study collected the CEOs of S&P500 companies from 2001 to 2009 and contains 4,155 CEO-firm-year observations and 704 different CEOs. Findings - First, only contingent bonus is affected by general human capital and reputation. Second, the career concerns of CEOs are relevant, especially when explaining CEO tenure. Third, we offer an alternative view of what determines the level of cash compensation schemes and the factors that affect the running of a firm. Fourth, we also suggest that the increase in general human capital can be explained by the increase in its relative importance in managing a modern firm. Overall, the results of this study do not only contribute to academics but also important to boards and shareholders. Research implications or Originality - This study intends to fill the gap in the extant literature by examining the relationship between general human capital and compensation schemes.First, we add to the compensation literature by arguing that a cash compensation scheme is efficient for generalist CEOs. We break down CEO cash compensation schemes into fixed and contingent bonus compensation and investigate whether general human capital differentially affects CEO cash compensation schemes, and thus, the sensitivity to unequal pay for human capital. Second, we contribute to the reputation literature by arguing that CEO perceived reputation also affects CEO compensation schemes.

Quality Indicators of ICT-Related Support for Blended-Learning in Traditional Universities

  • Campus-based universities have provided face-to-face instruction traditionally. But recently, it is becoming a trend that they provide blended learning which combines e-learning and f2f instruction. Therefore, traditional university has been installing the ICT related convenience for the faculty and students to use easily to their classes. The purpose of this study is to develop quality indicators of ICT-related support for proper blended learning in traditional campus-based universities. This indicators are used for measuring the quality of ICT-related services at university level for quality education. To this end, first, we reviewed literature about quality indicators of university evaluation and e-learning. Second,we did case study. We selected and analyzed one university for a case, And we identified what elements are perceived important to faculty for more efficient use of technology to their class. Third, we summarized all this data and established the quality indicators framework of ICT-related components for blended learning in campus-based universities. Then, these indicators were revised after the expert evaluation. And then 10 experts and practitioners scored importance rating. Finally, we sum them up to 17 indicators and 48 sub-indicators in three phases (input, process, output). Among them, e-learning related organization or body, usability of Learning Management System, and quality assessment system got the highest scores. These indicators are supposed to contribute to measure the quality of ICT-related environment for blended learning and to provide informations about what is required for efficient blended learning in the campus-based universities.

헤어 미용사들의 지각된 임파워먼트가 직무만족에 미치는 영향 (A Study on the Effects of Empowerment Perception Level on Job Satisfaction of Hairdresser)

  • 헤어 미용사의 인구통계적 특성에 따라 지각하는 임파워먼트 수준과 직무만족의 차이를 알아보고, 헤어 미용사들의 임파워먼트가 직무만족에 미치는 영향을 알아보았다. 편의표본으로 광주 전남, 서울 경기도의 310명 헤어 미용사를 대상으로 설문을 실시하고 유효한 277부를 분석자료로 사용하였다. SPSS 15.0 통계프로그램을 이용하여 기술통계, 요인분석, 신뢰성분석, t-검정, ANOVA, Duncan 검정, 다중회귀분석을 실시하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 첫째, 임파워먼트의 하위 요인은 의미성, 자기결정성, 유능성, 영향력의 4가지로 나타났다. 둘째, 인구통계적 특성(연령, 경력, 미용실의 형태, 직급, 출근시간, 월급)에 따라 임파워먼트와 직무만족은 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 나타내었다(p<.01). 셋째, 헤어 미용사의 지각된 임파워먼트 수준은 직무만족에 통계적으로 유의한 정(+)의 영향을 미쳤다(p<.01). 직무만족에 영향을 미치는 임파워먼트의 하위요인은 자기결정성, 의미성, 유능성의 순으로 나타났다. 미용실 경영자들은 헤어 미용사들의 임파워먼트 중요성을 인식하여 미용실 특성에 맞게 헤어 미용사들에게 임파워먼트를 확대함으로써 미용과 경영을 융복합하여 효율적인 미용실 경영이 이루어지도록 해야 할 것이다.
