Growth, quality, and yield characteristics of transgenic potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) overexpressing StMyb1R-1 under water deficit

  • This study was conducted to evaluate agronomic characteristics such as growth, quality, and yields of StMyb1R-1 transgenic potato and also to obtain the basic data for establishing assessment guidelines of transgenic potato. Three transgenic lines (Myb 1, Myb 2, and Myb 8) were cultivated under conventional irrigation, drought condition, and severe drought condition and were analyzed by comparing with wild type, non-transgenic cv. Superior. Myb 2 showed a different flower color from wild type and Myb 1 had much bigger secondary leaflets than wild type. Myb 1 and Myb 2 showed higher $P_2O_5$ content in both top and root zone and longer shaped tubers than wild type. In yield factors, transgenic lines had more tubers than wild type, however their yield decreases were severe because of the poor enlargement of tuber under water deficit condition. This tendency was noticeable in Myb 1 and Myb 2. In TR ratio, chlorophyll content, dry matter rate, and relative water content, there were no big differences between transgenic lines and wild type. Meanwhile, in phenotype, growth, quality, and yield factors, substantial equivalent was confirmed between Myb 8 and wild type. Then, Myb 8 showed the highest marketable tuber yield under conventional irrigation, while showed lower level than wild type under water deficit. Judged by this result, the enhancing droughttolerance by StMyb1R-1 gene might actually not mean the enhancement of photosynthesis or starch accumulation in tuber and, furthermore, not the yield improvement. More detailed research will be required to accurately understand the relationship between StMyb1R-1 and yield factors.

Distribution of Microorganisms in Cheongyang Red Pepper Sausage and Effect of Central Temperature on Quality Characteristics of Sausage

  • The objective of this study was to provide preliminary data for food industry by investigating the distribution of microorganisms in raw materials and sausage examining the effect of heating temperature on sausage quality. Total microbes in sausage ranged 2.21-3.11 Log CFU/g. Bacillus pumilus, B. licheniformis, Staphylococcus saprophyticus, and Enterococcus faecalis were detected on sausage. Total microbes in raw materials was 1.59-7.16 Log CFU/g. Different types of microorganisms were found depending on raw materials, with B. pumilus and B. subtilis were being detected in both raw materials and sausage. Total microbes in sausage after heating was in the range of 1.10-2.22 Log CFU/g, showing the trend of decrease in total microbe with increasing heating temperature, although the decrease was not significant. With increasing heating temperature, pH and hardness were also increased. The yield of sausage manufactured at $85^{\circ}C$ was 95.42% while that manufactured at $65^{\circ}C$ was 96.67%. Therefore, decreasing heating temperature during sausage production might increase yield and save energy without microbiological effect.

  • The purposes of this study were to investigate the physicochemical characteristics and storage stabilities of various sauces with added Yuza(Citrus Junos). Yuza consisted of three parts: peeled (46.17%), fleshed (43.74%) and seeded (10.09%). Yuza juice revealed 11.33% extraction yield, pH 2.85, 4.18% total acidity, 11 $^{\circ}$Brix, 1.16% transmittance and 2.63 $^{\circ}$Brix/acid ratio. Five kinds of sauces with added Yuza juice were Yuza red pepper paste sauce, Yuza soybean sauce for meat, Shabu shabu Yuza sauce, Korean Yuza vegetable sauce and Japanese Yuza soybean sauce. These sauces showed slight changes in pH, total acidity, total bacterial counts and overall sensory characteristics during storage period (60 days). In conclusion, Yuza juice could be applied to various sauces, which remained usable for 60 days.

대추 물추출 농축물의교미(嬌味)효과 (Effect on Taste Correction of Jujube Water Extract Concentrate)

  • The conditions of water extraction form the dried jujube (Zizyphus jujuba) were examined. The general components, taste, and effect of taste correction of jujube water extract concentrate (JWEC) were investigated. desirable condition for extraction was that 100g of dried jujube was added to 750$m\ell$ of water and heated for 80 minutes at 100$^{\circ}C$. The yield of JWEC was 50% and the manin component of it was sugar (90%). The major taste of JWEC was sweetness, and it had astringent, bitter, sour and salty tastes as incidental taste. The taste was changed to desirable taste when 15% of JWEC was added to coffee, 10% of JWEC was added to fermented soy sauce, thick soypaste mixed with red pepper, and vinegar, respectively.

Farm disease detection procedure by image processing on Smart Farming

  • The environmental change is affecting the farm products like tomato, and pepper, etc. This affects to lead smart farming yield. What is more, this inconstant conditions cause the farms to be infected by variety diseases. Therefore ICT technology is needed to detect and prevent the crops from being effected by diseases. This article suggests the procedure to help producer for identifying farms disease based on the detected image. This detects the kind of diseases with comparing the trained image data before and after disease emergence. First step monitors an image of farms and resize it. Its features are extracted on parameters such as color, and morphology, etc. The next steps are used for classification to classify the image as infected or non-infected. on the bassis of detection algorithm.

  • 폴리에틸렌(이하(以下) P.E) 피복하(被覆下)에서 제초제처리(除草劑處理)가 잡초(雜草)의 발생(發生) 및 고추, 땅콩, 참깨의 생육(生育)과 수량(收量)에 비치는 영향(影響)을 조사(調査)한 결과(結果)는 다음과 같다. 1. 고추포장(圃場) : 실험기간중(實驗期間中) 흑색(黑色)P.E피복구(被覆區)에서는 잡초발생(雜草發生)이 전무상태(全無狀態)였고, 투명(透明)P.E피복구(被覆區)에는 노지구(露地區)에 비(比)하여 그 발생량(發生量)들이 1/10로 감소(減少)하였다. 공시(供試) 제초제(除草劑)의 방제율(防除率)은 pendimethalin > diphenamid > alachlor > napropamide 순(順)으로 높았고, 그 방제율(防除率)은 노지(露地)에서보다 투명(透明)P.E피복(被覆)에서가 월등히 높았다. 고추의 초장(草長)과 분지수(分枝數)는 투명(透明)P.E피복구(被覆區) > 흑색(黑色)P.E피복구(被覆區) > 노지구(露地區) 순(順)으로 높았다. 노지구(露地區)의 수량(收量)은 P.E피복구(被覆區)에 비(比)하여 50% 이상(以上) 감소(減少)되었으나, 투명(透明)P.E와 흑색(黑色)P.E피복구(被覆區) 사이에는 유의차(有意差)가 없었다. 제초제(除草劑) 처리구(處理區)의 생육(生育) 및 수량(收量)은 피복유무(被覆有無)에 관계(關係)없이 각각(各各)의 관행구(慣行區)의 것과 유의차(有意差)가 없었다. 2. 땅콩포장(圃場) : 투명(透明)P.E피복구(被覆區)에 있어서 잡초(雜草) 발생량(發生量)은 노지구(露地區)에 비(比)하여 1/8로 감소(減少)되었다. alachlor, napropamide, diphenamid의 잡초(雜草), 방제율(防除率)은 노지(露地) 및 P.E피복구(被覆區)에서 다같이 93~100%로 매우 우수하였다. 투명(透明)P.E피복구(被覆區)에서 총분지수(總分枝數), 주경장(主莖長) 및 지상부(地上部) 경엽중(莖葉重)은 노지구(露地區)에 비(比)하여 각각(各各) 2, 1.7, 2.4배(倍) 높았다. 협실중(莢實重)도 P.E피복구(被覆區)가 노지구(露地區)에 비(比)하여 38% 증수(增收)되었다. 제초제(除草劑) 처리구(處理區)에 있어서 땅콩의 생육(生育) 및 협실중(莢實重)은 피복유무(被覆有無)에 관계(關係)없이 각각(各各)의 관행구(慣行區)와 차이(差異)가 없었다. 3. 참깨포장(圃場) : 노지구(露地區)에 있어서 잡초(雜草) 발생량(發生量)은 투명(透明)P.E피복구(被覆區)에서 보다 10배(倍) 많았다. 공시(供試) 제초제별(除草劑別) 방제율(防除率)은 노지(露地)에서 alachlor(120g ai/10a)가 84%, napropamide(130g ai/10a)가 76%, diphenamid(250g ai/10a)가 76%였으나 투명(透明)P.E피복하(被覆下)에서는 3약제(藥劑) 모두 방제율(防除率)이 95% 이상(以上)까지 향상(向上)되었다. 관행구(慣行區)에서 참깨의 발아율(發芽率)은 P.E피복구(被覆區)에 비(比)하여 노지구(露地區)에서 크게 낮았다. 제초제(除草劑) 처리구(處理區)에 있어서 발아율(發芽率)은 피복유무(被覆有無)에 관계(關係)없이 무처리(無處理) 관행구(慣行區)에 비(比)하여 낮았으며 약제간(藥劑間)에는 diphenamid < napropamide < alachlor 순(順)으로 낮았다. 초기약해(初期藥害)는 약제(藥劑) 처리구(處理區) 천체에서 나타났으며, 약해정도(藥害程度)는 피복구(被覆區)에서보다 노지구(露地區)에서 심하였고, 노지구(露地區)에서는 완전(完全)히 회복(回復)되지 못하였다. alachlor의 경우는 P.E피복구(被覆區)에서도 회복(回複)되지 못하였다. 초장(草長) 및 1본당(本當) 삭과수(蒴果數)도 초기약해(初期藥害)와 동일(同一)한 경향(傾向)이었다. 수량(收量)은 약제처리구(藥劑處理區) 모두 노지조건(露地條件)에서는 관행구(慣行區)와 유의차(有意差)가 없었으며 투명(透明)P.E피복조건(被覆條件)에서는 diphenamid와 napropamide 처리구(處理區)가 관행구(慣行區)에 비(比)하여 유의차(有意差)가 없었다.

토양 건조 스트레스와 기온상승에 의한 고추의 생리반응 및 생산량 변화 (Influence of Drought and High Temperature on the Physiological Response and Yield in Hot Pepper)

  • This study was conducted to determine the effects of combination of air temperature and soil water content on the growth, physiological disorder rate, and yield of hot peppers. The study was carried out in a typical plastic house (open on one side and with ventilation fans on the other side), which was maintained with gradient air temperature (maximum difference in air temperature: $6^{\circ}C$). The deficit irrigation (DI) treatment commenced 65 days after transplanting. The height of plant and fresh and dry weights of the stem increased at high air temperature (ambient + $6^{\circ}C$, extreme high temperature; EHT). Furthermore, the leaf area decreased significantly with the DI treatment. There were no significant differences in the stem diameter, number of branches, and fresh and dry weights of the leaves among all the treatments. The net photosynthesis rate of the full irrigation (FI) treatment was higher than that of the DI treatment. The photosynthesis rate at ambient air temperature was $19.7{\mu}mol\;CO_2m^{-2}{\cdot}s^{-1}$, the highest among all the treatments; however, the photosynthesis rate of the EHT treatment decreased by 60% ($12.3{\mu}mol\;CO_2m^{-2}{\cdot}s^{-1}$). Additionally, the formation of guard cells in the leaf was abnormal with the EHT treatment, and there was a decrease in translocation efficiency. The effects of air temperature treatment were more pronounced on the physiological disorder rate and yield. The physiological disorder rate of the EHT treatment was the highest under the DI treatment condition. The yield of the AFI (ambient air temperature with full irrigation) treatment was 3,771 kg/10a, the highest among all the treatments; however, the yield of the EHT treatment with DI and FI was 1,282 and 1,327 kg/10a, respectively. These results indicate that growth and physiological disorder rate improved with the EHT treatment; however, there was a decrease in yield. Furthermore, the formation of guard cells was abnormal and malfunctional.
