A pole assignment control design for single-input double-output nonlinear mechanical systems

  • This paper discusses a design of a nonlinear control for a class of single-input double-output nonlinear mechanical systems. When conventional linearization methods are applied to the mechanical systems, some problems of oscillation and unstable phenomena arise. The proposed nonlinear control system resolves these problems. In this design the eigenvalues of the closed-loop nonlinear system are assigned to desired locations and local asymptotic stability of the closed-loop system. is guaranteed. The design method is applied to an inverted pendulum system with a moving weight mechanism. Experimental results show that the proposed nonlinear controller is more effective for stability than the usual linear controller.

  • By using the neural networks(NN) as system identifier, the on-line self tuning method for fuzzy controller(FC) is proposed. In theis method, the learning of NN is carried out during control operation of FC and the cinsequent parameters of FC is tuned on-line automatically by means of system output errors backpropagated through NN. The Sugeno fuzzy model with constants as consequent parameters is selected for simplifying computation. In procedures of parameter tuning, the gradient descent method is used and the gradient vectors for adjusting the weight of NN are transferred as controller output errors. To evaluate the performance, the proposed method is applied to the inverted pendulum system.

레이저 용접 블랭크 응용 자동차 범퍼 개발 (Application of Laser Welded Tailored Blank for Automobile Bumper Beam)

  • In this paper, weldability and formability of Tailored-Blank (TB) and the structural impact testing of bump beam were investigated to apply TB to automobile bumper beam. The optimal $CO_2$ laser welding condition for TB of SPFC and SPRC steel plates with different thicknesses was obtained. Before welding, the cross section of butt joint was prepared only by shearing without milling process. Real type bump beam was produced by two kind of forming processes such as roll-forming and press-forming, and the good formability of TB was obtained. Impact test results of bump by using pendulum and barrier were satisfied the impact regulation of bump. Finally. It may be confirmed that laser welded TB is well-balanced material in both weight reduction and production cost of automobile bump.

진화연산을 이용한 동적 귀환 신경망의 구조 저차원화 (Structure Pruning of Dynamic Recurrent Neural Networks Based on Evolutionary Computations)

  • 본 논문에서는 진화연산을 이용하여 동적 귀환 신경망의 구조를 저차원화하는 방법을 제안한다. 일반적으로 진화연산을 개체군을 이용한 탐색 방법으로서 신경회로망의 여러 가지 다른 성질을 동시에 최적화할 필요가 있을 때 유용한 방법이다. 본 연구에서는 동적 귀환 신경망의 구조를 조차원화하기 위하여 진화 프로그래밍으로 신경망의 구조를 탐색하고, 진화전략으로 신경망의 연결강도를 학습시킴으로서 전체적인 구조를 저차원화하였다.신경망의 중간층 노드의 추가/삭제는 돌연변이 확률에 의하여 결정한다. 노드를 삭제할 경우에는 입력 연결강도의 총합이 가장 작은 노드를 삭제하고, 노드를 추가할 경우에는 미리 지정한 확률함스에 따라 노드를 추가한다. 그리고 추가된 노드와 다른 노드와의 연결방법은 서로 영향을 미칠 수 있는 모든 연결강도 중에서 확률적으로 선택하여 연결하였다. 마지막으로 제안한 저차원화 동적 귀환 신경망이 완전 연결된 신경망보다 더 좋은 성능을 얻을 수 있음을 예제로서 본 논문에서는 도립진자의 안정화 및 제어와 로봇 매니퓰레이터의 비주얼 서보잉에 적용하여 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션을 통하여 그 유효성을 확인한다.

Evaluation Method of Hairstyling Materials and its Application to Cosmetic Preparations

  • Instead of sensory evaluation, we designed an evaluation method of the setting function of hairstyling products, based on an original theory focusing on changes in bending stress observed when a load with continuous bending is applied to human hair. Specifically, we developed a device to measure bending stress to quickly and objectively evaluate the condition of human hair, particularly its dynamic properties such as the setting function, following the application of hairstyling products. This device generates a load with continuous bending while applying a pendulum motion to a hair tress, one end of which is anchored. The setting function and holding power of resins of various molecular weight and ionic properties were evaluated using this device. The results demonstrated a close correlation with those obtained by experts' sensory evaluation. The evaluation results of bending stress and holding rate confirmed that the combined use of two different resins could improve the function of setting preparations. Evaluation using this device was able to substitute for sensory evaluation, and offers quick objective evaluation and detection of changes in the holding power of hairstyling products over time. We conclude that evaluation using this device is a promising new method.

  • An energy-efficient reference walking trajectory generation algorithm is suggested utilizing allowable ZMP (Zero-Moment-Point) region, which maxmizes the energy efficiency for cyclic gaits, based on three-dimensional LIPM (Linear Inverted Pendulum Model) for biped robots. As observed in natural human walking, variable ZMP manipulation is suggested, in which ZMP moves within the allowable region to reduce the joint stress (i.e., rapid acceleration and deceleration of body), and hence to reduce the consumed energy. In addition, opimization of footstep planning is conducted to decide the optimal step-length and body height for a given forward mean velocity to minimize a suitable energy performance - amount of energy required to carry a unit weight a unit distance. In this planning, in order to ensure physically realizable walking trajectory, we also considered geometrical constraints, ZMP stability condition, friction constraint, and yawing moment constraint. Simulations are performed with a 12-DOF 3D biped robot model to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method.

공진화를 이용한 신경회로망의 구조 최적화 (Structure optimization of neural network using co-evolution)

  • In general, Evoluationary Algorithm(EAs) are refered to as methods of population-based optimization. And EAs are considered as very efficient methods of optimal sytem design because they can provice much opportunity for obtaining the global optimal solution. This paper presents a co-evolution scheme of artifical neural networks, which has two different, still cooperatively working, populations, called as a host popuation and a parasite population, respectively. Using the conventional generatic algorithm the host population is evolved in the given environment, and the parastie population composed of schemata is evolved to find useful schema for the host population. the structure of artificial neural network is a diagonal recurrent neural netork which has self-feedback loops only in its hidden nodes. To find optimal neural networks we should take into account the structure of the neural network as well as the adaptive parameters, weight of neurons. So we use the genetic algorithm that searches the structure of the neural network by the co-evolution mechanism, and for the weights learning we adopted the evolutionary stategies. As a results of co-evolution we will find the optimal structure of the neural network in a short time with a small population. The validity and effectiveness of the proposed method are inspected by applying it to the stabilization and position control of the invered-pendulum system. And we will show that the result of co-evolution is better than that of the conventioal genetic algorithm.

병렬형 다리 구조를 가진 2족 보행 로봇의 설계 및 제어 (New Parallel Mechanism for Biped Robots)

  • In this paper, we propose new parallel mechanism of a 3 dimensional biped robot whose each leg is composed of two 3-dof parallel platforms linked serially. This proposed parallel mechanism is able to move freely in the man-made environment and is applied to various fields, such as medical, welfare, and so on. And a total weight of each leg is expected to be lighter than serial linked leg. One side leg consists of a 3-dof orientation platform and 3-dof asymmetric parallel platform. The former consists of three active linear actuators and seven passive joints, and the latter of two active linear actuators, one active rotational actuator and eight passive joints. Thus, there are two kinds of parallel platforms each chain's elements and active joint's positions are different for the biped robot to move freely like a serial link without the kinematics constraints. The effectiveness and the performance of the proposed parallel mechanism and locomotion trajectory are shown in computer simulations with a 12-DOF parallel biped robot.

무게 변화에 따른 차륜형 밸런싱 로봇의 제어기 설계 및 실험연구 (Experimental Studies of Controller Design for a Car-like Balancing Robot with a Variable Mass)

  • 본 논문에서는 두 바퀴로 구동되는 역진자기반의 1인승 차량의 안정적인 균형을 위해 제어기를 설계하였다. 탑승자의 몸무게에 따라 전체 질량이 달라지므로 그에 따른 PID 제어기의 이득값을 실험적으로 구하였다. 이 때 탑승자의 몸무게에 따라 무게 중심이 달라지게 되는데, 이는 밸런싱 각도에 영향을 미치게 된다. 따라서, 안정적인 균형을 이루기 위해서는 몸무게에 따른 목표 밸런싱 각도를 수정하여 제어해야 한다. 다양한 탑승자의 몸무게를 측정하기 위해 차량에 체중계를 달고 측정된 체중 데이터를 컴퓨터로 전송하여 제어기에 적용하였다. 다양한 실험으로 얻은 정보를 사용하여 제어기의 게인 스케줄링을 통하여 보다 안정적인 균형을 유지할 수 있었다.

  • 공동주택의 구조형식이 기둥식 구조로 이행되면서 경량벽체의 수요가 증가하고 있다. 경량벽체는 구조적 안전을 위해 소정의 내충격성을 확보할 필요가 있다. 본 연구에서는 질량과 형상이 다른 경질 충격체 7종류와 일상적으로 벽체에 충격하중을 가하는 단단한 물체 5종류를 대상으로 하중해석 실험을 실시하였다. 충격에너지가 같아도 추의 질량이 다르면 하중의 크기가 최대 2배 이상 차이가 난다는 것을 실험적으로 규명하였다. 또한 경질 충격체의 하중과 실제 물체의 하중을 비교 분석하여 경량벽체의 재료설계를 위한 기초적 자료로서 제시하였다.
