  • A genetic algorithm (GA) is a stochastic direct search strategy that mimics the process of genetic evolution. The GA applied herein works on a population of structural designs at any one time, and uses a structured information exchange based on the principles of natural selection and wurvival of the fittest to recombine the most desirable features of the designs over a sequence of generations until the process converges to a "maximum fitness" design. Principles of genetics are adapted into a search procedure for structural optimization. The methods consist of three genetics operations mainly named selection, cross- over and mutation. In this study, a method of finding the optimum topology of truss/beam structure is pro- posed by using the GA. In order to use GA in the optimum topology problem, chromosomes to FEM elements are assigned, and a penalty function is used to include constraints into fitness function. The results show that the GA has the potential to be an effective tool for the optimal design of structures accounting for sizing, geometrical and topological variables.variables.

변형된 PEM 그래디언트 알고리즘을 이용한 디지털화상처리에 관한 연구 (A Study of Digital Image Restoration for Modified PEM Gradient Algorithm)

  • PEM 알고리즘은 패널티 함수가 초월함수 형태일 때에는 반복알고리즘을 전개할 수 가 없다. 하지만, OSL 알고리즘은 복잡한 초월함수 형태의 패널티 함수가 주어지더라도 쉽게 반복 알고리즘이 유도되는 장점을 갖는다. 그러나 이 알고리즘은 패널티 로그-우도를 증가시키는 평활상수의 수렴영역이 제한적이어서 디지털 화상복원시 다양한 평활상수 값을 부여할 수 없기 때문에 최적의 복원화상을 얻을 수 가 없다. 본 논문에서는 OSL 알고리즘의 단점을 해결하기 위해서, 수렴 허용 범위가 확대된 평활상수를 갖는 알고리즘을 제시하고 그 수렴성질을 밝히며, 화상실험을 통해 제안된 알고리즘의 유용성을 밝힌다.

  • 시간지연을 갖는 불안정한 시스템의 PID 제어는 적용하기가 쉽지 않은데 이는 복소평면의 우반부에 존재하는 극점으로 인한 불안정성과 시간지연의 영향 때문이다. 본 연구에서는 설계자가 제어환경에 따라 오버슈트나 상승시간 등을 미리 정의한 경우의 PID 제어기 설계 기법에 대해 고려한다. 이와 같이 제약성을 갖는 최적화 문제를 해결하기 위해 본 연구에서는 벌점전략이 결합된 RCGA를 사용한다. 이는 제약조건을 위배하면 그 정도에 따라 벌점을 부가하도록 벌점함수를 정의하고, 평가함수에 합하여 비제약성 최적화 문제로 변환하는 방법이다. 제안하는 방법은 불안정 FOPTD 시스템에 적용하고 시뮬레이션을 실시하여 그 유효성을 검토한다.

  • 최근 해양 포유동물의 수동 음향 추적을 위해 스코어-패널티 법이 사용되고 있다. 전통적인 시간영역 정합장 처리 기법은 손실함수에 측정신호와 손실신호간의 정합도만을 고려하는 반면, 스코어-패널티법은 측정 신호와 모의신호의 비적합도를 반영하는 페널티 항도 추가로 고려한다. 본 연구에서는 스코어-패널티법을 파형을 알고 있는 수동표적의 심도 추정에 적용했다. 수중 음속 구조의 불확실성을 갖는 심해 환경을 가정하고, 스코어-패널티법의 성능을 평가했다. 또한 시간영역 정합장 처리기법의 결과와 서로 비교했다. 약한 수중 음속 오정합 환경에서 스코어-패널티법은 시간영역 정합장 처리기법보다 높은 정확도를 보이고 효율적으로 동작했다. 그렇지만 수중 음속 구조의 오정합이 매우 큰 경우에는 두 기법 모두 표적의 심도 추정에는 실패했다.

구조물의 결함 규명을 위한 위상최적설계 기법의 적용가능성 연구 (A Feasibility Study on the Application of the Topology Optimization Method for Structural Damage Identification)

  • A feasibility of using the topology optimization method for structural damage identification is investigated for the first time. The frequency response functions (FRFs) are assumed to be constructed by the finite element models of damaged and undamaged structures. In addition to commonly used resonances, antiresonances are employed as the damage identifying modal parameters. For the topology optimization formulation, the modal parameters of the undamaged structure are made to approach those of the damaged structure by means of the constraint equations, while the objective function is an explicit penalty function requiring clear black-and-white images. The developed formulation is especially suitable for damage identification problems dealing with many modal parameters. Although relatively simple numerical problems were considered in this investigation, the possibility of using the topology optimization method for structural damage identification is suggested through this research.

We show that the set of prior, $\mathcal{Q}_c$ in (1.2) is equal to the set of $\mathcal{Q}_m$ in (1.6), as maximal representing set $\mathcal{Q}_{max}$ defined in (1.7).

QFD방법을 이용한 의료 서비스 개선전략에 관한 연구 (A Study on Strategy for Improving Health Care Service through Quality Function Deployment)

  • It is truism to say that today's customers demand high quality products and services; nevertheless, nowhere is this more prevalent than in the medical industry. Korea's globalization has increased it's citizen's awareness of greater life expectancies and medical improvements in other regions of the globe. Therefore, it is universally essential that in order to be successful in the medical industry, vendors must meet the ever increasing demands of better educated customers. The purpose of this study was twofold: 1) The first objective was discover what health care services are in demand and the quality factors related to these services. 2) The second objective was to determine a strategy for improving health care service through quality function deployment(QFD). One hundred and ninety-five respondents were randomly selected and asked to fill out a questionnaire after having undergone treatment at a medical clinic, located in Daejon, South Korea. The questionnaire was designed to obtain information about both he clients' satisfaction with, and their sense of the value of the medical treatment they received. Penalty-reward analysis and QFD were used to interpret the survey results and to deploy the collective voices of the customers. The results of the penalty-reward analysis illustrated that the 'communication' service quality factor was classified into an excitement factor that incurs no penalty if not achieved but adds value if the requirement is exceeded. As a result of the QFD analysis on the 'communication' service quality factor, eleven strategic alternatives were prioritized, and isolated a vital service quality characteristic. This characteristic can be implemented to bring value-added changes for the improvement of health care services.

Estimating Parameters in Muitivariate Normal Mixtures

  • This paper investigates a penalized likelihood method for estimating the parameter of normal mixtures in multivariate settings with full covariance matrices. The proposed model estimates the number of components through the addition of a penalty term to the usual likelihood function and the construction of a penalized likelihood function. We prove the consistency of the estimator and present the simulation results on the multi-dimensional nor-mal mixtures up to the 8-dimension.

선박자동조타를 위한 RCGA기반 T-S 퍼지 PID 제어 (T-S fuzzy PID control based on RCGAs for the automatic steering system of a ship)

  • In this study, the second-order Nomoto's nonlinear expansion model was implemented as a Tagaki-Sugeno fuzzy model based on the heading angular velocity to design the automatic steering system of a ship considering nonlinear elements. A Tagaki-Sugeno fuzzy PID controller was designed using the applied fuzzy membership functions from the Tagaki-Sugeno fuzzy model. The linear models and fuzzy membership functions of each operating point of a given nonlinear expansion model were simultaneously tuned using a genetic algorithm. It was confirmed that the implemented Tagaki-Sugeno fuzzy model could accurately describe the given nonlinear expansion model through the Zig-Zag experiment. The optimal parameters of the sub-PID controller for each operating point of the Tagaki-Sugeno fuzzy model were searched using a genetic algorithm. The evaluation function for searching the optimal parameters considered the route extension due to course deviation and the resistance component of the ship by steering. By adding a penalty function to the evaluation function, the performance of the automatic steering system of the ship could be evaluated to track the set course without overshooting when changing the course. It was confirmed that the sub-PID controller for each operating point followed the set course to minimize the evaluation function without overshoot when changing the course. The outputs of the tuned sub-PID controllers were combined in a weighted average method using the membership functions of the Tagaki-Sugeno fuzzy model. The proposed Tagaki-Sugeno fuzzy PID controller was applied to the second-order Nomoto's nonlinear expansion model. As a result of examining the transient response characteristics for the set course change, it was confirmed that the set course tracking was satisfactorily performed.
