The purpose of this study is to identify the influences of parental attitude, parenting attitudes, family function and peer attachment on the self-efficacy of middle school students in multicultural families. In particular, peer attachment was used as a mediator to determine the effects of self-efficacy. 302 multicultural family adolescents who enrolled in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do middle schools were surveyed. In order to measure the variables, this study used such scales as parenting attitude scale, family function scale, peer attachment scale and self efficacy scale. The results were analyzed by the PASW 18.0 program. The findings of the study led to the following conclusions; First, it has shown that peer attachment was the only variable that had significant differences by sex in middle school students of multicultural families. Second, the most influential variables of self-efficacy of middle school students in multicultural families was peer attachment among parenting attitude, family function and peer attachment. Third, there was a mediating effect of peer attachment among parenting attitude, family function and self-efficacy for adolescents of multicultural families. The notable distinction of this study was to find that peer attachment variable is the most important factor of self-efficacy. Considering the results in this study, aggressive intervention is necessary in order to improve the self-efficacy of middle school students in multicultural families.
This study was conducted in order to investigate the variables that relate and affect the internalizing and externalizing problems of multicultural children. 159 multicultural children in the $3^{rd}{\sim}6^{th}$grade were selected from elementary schools in Gwangju and the Jeollanamdo area. The data was analyzed by using the frequency, Cronbach's ${\alpha}$, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation and hierarchical regression by SPSS 12.0 program. The results were as follows: first, the internalizing problems were different according to the socio-demographic variable: (gender, subjective economic level), multicultural characteristic variable: (mother's communication ability, likability of mother's nationality, etc.), parent-child relationship variable: (relationship with mother, relationship with father) and social support variable: (peer support, teacher support). Further, the externalizing problems were different according to the socio-demographic variable: (gender), multicultural characteristic variable: (mother's nationality, mother's communication ability, etc.), parent-child relationship variable: (relationship with mother, relationship with father) and social support variable: (peer support, teacher support). Second, the influential variables regarding the internalizing problems were children's stress from cultural adaptability and the likability of the mother's nationality of the multicultural characteristic variable group, peer support of the social support variable group and the subjective economic-level of the socio-demographic variable group. Moreover, the influential variable on the externalizing problems was children's stress from the cultural adaptability of the multicultural characteristic variable group. The most influential variable of such variables was children's stress from cultural adaptability of the multicultural characteristic variable group. The results of this study will provide information for the development of educational and therapeutic intervention program for multicultural children.

This study is to verify relative influence of individual, parent, peer, teacher-related variables as protective factors and risk factors of academic hatred. Surveys were conducted with 1,015 (women, 57.3%) high school third grade students across eight schools where are located in Seoul, Incheon, and Geyonggi province. Correlation analysis and hierarchical multiple regression analysis were performed. The findings are summarized as follows. Teacher's academic pressure did not have significant correlation with student's basic psychological needs, teacher's autonomy support, teacher's support, and peer support whereas other variables showed significant correlation each others. The hierarchical multiple regression analysis indicated that student's individual competence and autonomy, parent's academic support, and teacher's emotional support work as protective factors and that parent's academic pressure functions as a risk factor. The effects of peer support disappeared when teacher-related factors were included. In addition, the effects of teacher's autonomy support disappeared, while the effects of teacher's support strengthened when learner's basic psychological needs were input. This study is meaningful in that it clarified academic hatred which had not been studied in other research and that it provided theoretical foundation for subsequent studies on academic hatred by examining relative influence of related variables. Lastly, it presented its limitation, implications on intervening strategies in school counseling, and suggestions for later studies.
This study distinguished game use groups by considering adaptive game use and maladaptive game use of middle school students at the same time, and analyzed the difference in lack of self-control, peer-support, and game usage by group. To this end, the data of 287 middle school students was analyzed in the Game User Panel Survey(5th year) of the KOCCA. As a result of the cluster analysis, the game use groups were divided into the high level coexist group, the adaptive use group, and the normal group. The three groups showed the gap of lack of self-control, peer-support, and game usage.
This study investigated the relation between stressful life events and adjustment in elementary school children, with particular emphasis on the potential main and stress-buffering effects of social support and social problem solving skills. 4-6 graders (N=170) completed the Social Support Appraisals Scale(SSAS) and social problem solving skills task. The SSAS is a 31-item measure that taps the child's perceptions or appraisals of family, peer, and teacher support. Their parents provided ratings of stress in the child's environment and ratings of the child's behavioral adjustment. Teachers provided ratings of the child's behavioral and academic adjustment. Hierarchical multiple regression analyses and graphic display were used to analyze the data. The major findings were that (1) The results for parent-rated problems supported a stress-buffering model for family support and problem solving. (2) The results for teacher-rated problems were consistent with the stress-buffering model of social support. (3) The results for grade-point average supported a main effect model for problem solving. peer support, and family support. In addition, teacher support had the strongest stress-buffering effect on grade-point average.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between social support (family, healthcare provider, friends/peer), treatment belief, hope, and health status in patients on hemodialysis, and to identify direct and indirect effects of the variables on patients' health status. Methods: The self-regulation model was used to establish a path model. Data were collected from 240 patients. Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support, Revised Illness Perception Questionnaire, Herth Hope Index, and Medical Outcomes Study Short Form-12 were used. Data were analyzed using the SPSS and AMOS programs. Results: The model was supported by fit statistics ($x^2=3.33$, p=.343, GFI .995, RMSEA .021, AGFI .968, NFI .986, CFI .999, TLI .993). Family and friends/peer support showed a significant direct influence on hope, while healthcare provider support directly influenced treatment belief. Social support, treatment belief, and hope directly and indirectly influenced health status, explaining 28.7% of the variance. Conclusion: These results show mechanisms underlying connections between social support and health status by demonstrating impact of social support and showing treatment belief and hope as mediators between social context and outcomes. To promote health of patients on hemodialysis, it is necessary for patient, family, healthcare professional, and friends to collaborate.

This paper deals with the peer-to-peer data communication to connect each distributed levels of developed unmanned system according to the JAUS. The JAUS is to support the acquisition of unmanned system by providing a mechanism for reducing system life-cycle costs. Each of distributed levels of the JAUS protocol divides into a system, some of subsystems, nodes and components/instances, each of which may be independent or interdependence. We have to distribute each of the levels because high performance is supported in order to create several sub-processor computing data in one processor with high CPU speed performance. To complement such disadvantage, we must think the concept that a distributed processing agrees with separating each of levels from the JAUS protocol. Therefore, each of distributed independent levels send data to another level and then it has to be able to process the received data in other levels. So, peer-to-peer communication has to control a data flow of distributed levels. In this research, we explain each of levels of the JAUS and peer-to-peer communication structure among the levels using our developed unmanned ground vehicle.

Recently, client computing trend has been changed from server oriented information application to network based P2P(Peer to Peer) services. The conventional client/server method has the merit of accessing abundant information, on the other side P2P has the merit of synchronized community support and information exchange. P2P has four meaning of point to point, peer to peer, person to person and path to profitability. In manufacturing system field, the second meaning is interested. P2P is classified to three type such as conventional client/server, hybrid P2P and pure P2P. The third is really peer to peer concept. The related technologies with P2P are P2P searching, XML, cooperation, IPv6, computing sharing and P2P communication. This paper describes the scheme of P2P and related contents. And through the P2P based technology, a P2P-based collaborative machine and a vertical portal machine are introduced in this paper. The scheme of the machines mentioned above is suggested for cooperation in manufacturing system and u-Manufacturing.

Peer-to-Peer(P2P) systems are generally classified into two categories; hybrid and pure P2P. Hybrid systems have a single central index server keeping the details of shared information, so that undesirable effects such as heavy load on that server and lack of fault-tolerance can be caused. Pure P2P causes the other problems such as message flooding and scalability although it shows high degree of fault-tolerance. Recently, mobile agent-based distributed computing has been receiving wide attention for its potential to support disconnected operations, high asynchrony, and thus saving network bandwidth. In this paper, a new scheme of peer coordination is proposed for a decentralized P2P network with self-organizing structure. We deployed mobile agents for incorporating the advantages of usage of mobile agents into our P2P network. Proposed P2P network has both advantages of hybrid and pure P2P. The problems of heavy load on the server and lack of fault-tolerance are improved by using multiple special peers called super-peers. And the problems of pure P2P can be reduced by using mobile agents.
Recent development in wireless communication technology, like GPS, and mobile equipments, like PDA and cellular phone, make location-based services (LBSs) popular. However, because, users continuously request a query to a server in the LBSs by using their exact locations, privacy information could be in danger. Therefore, a mechanism for users' privacy protection is required for the safe and comfortable use of LBSs by mobile users. For this, we, in this paper, propose a grid-based cloaking area creation scheme supporting continuous LBSs in peer-to-peer environment. The proposed scheme creates a cloaking area by using Chord protocol, so as to support the continuous LBSs in peer-to-peer environment. Finally, we show from a performance analysis that our cloaking scheme outperforms the existing cloaking schemes, in terms of service time.
