실린더 압력센서를 사용한 가솔린 엔진의 도시토크와 부하토크의 추정 (Indicated and Load Torque Estimation of SI-Engine using Cylinder Pressure Sensor)

  • The torque is an important measure that represents the performance of a particular engine. Furthermore the information of engine torque can be used as a primary feedback parameter in modem engine management system. In this paper, a methodology is proposed for torque estimation of SI-engine. Since the proposed method uses cylinder pressure sensor, the torque can be estimated in a simple manner. The indicated torque is estimated from the peak pressure and its location, and the load torque is observed by the state observer based on the estimated indicated torque. The proposed method is accurate and robust against the variations that affect the torque production such as spark timing, mass air flow and others. This torque estimation method may be an alternative solution to the use of engine torque maps in a modem torque-based engine management system.

  • In this paper, we present 2-step load cycle for daily load curve of up to and including 100kVA distribution transformer in domestic. Daily load patterns are classified by two methods dependent upon possession information. In case we possess daily load profiles make use of K-mean algorithm and in case we have not daily load profiles, make use of customer information of KEPCO. As the parameters of the load pattern classification, we use are daily load profiles and customer information of each distribution transformers. Data management system is used for NT oracle. We can present peak load magnitude, initial load magnitude and peak load duration for daily load patterns by 2-step load cycle for daily load curve of up to and including 100kVA distribution transformer in domestic. We think that this paper contributes to enhancing the distribution transformer overload criterion.

  • Demand side management (DSM) is the planning and implementation of those utility designed to influence customer use of electricity in ways that will produce desired changes in the utility's load shape. It is conspicuous that the peak load control of DSM is efficiently adopted. In this paper, the package type air conditioner(A/C) mounted radio controlled switch. During the summer of 1990 KEPCO conducted tests in Seoul areas to determine the economic feasibility of interrupting A/C units for short periods of time during peak load periods. These tests were performed between July 30 and September 20 and were limited to the hours of between 1 and 6 p.m. These tests indicated that each A/C contributes approximately 4.5kW to the system peak and can be switched off 10 minutes out of each 1/2 hour without causing the customer any discomfort. Switching each A/C off for 10 minutes out of each 1/2 hour results in a peak load demand reduction of one kW per unit.

Comparison of Intelligent Charging Algorithms for Electric Vehicles to Reduce Peak Load and Demand Variability in a Distribution Grid

  • A potential breakthrough of the electrification of the vehicle fleet will incur a steep rise in the load on the electrical power grid. To avoid huge grid investments, coordinated charging of those vehicles is a must. In this paper, we assess algorithms to schedule charging of plug-in (hybrid) electric vehicles as to minimize the additional peak load they might cause. We first introduce two approaches, one based on a classical optimization approach using quadratic programming, and a second one, market based coordination, which is a multi-agent system that uses bidding on a virtual market to reach an equilibrium price that matches demand and supply. We benchmark these two methods against each other, as well as to a baseline scenario of uncontrolled charging. Our simulation results covering a residential area with 63 households show that controlled charging reduces peak load, load variability, and deviations from the nominal grid voltage.

Group Building Based Power Consumption Scheduling for the Electricity Cost Minimization with Peak Load Reduction

  • In this paper, we investigate a group building based power consumption scheduling to minimize the electricity cost. We consider the demand shift to reduce the peak load and suggest the compensation function reflecting the relationship between the change of the building demand and the occupants' comfort. Using that, the electricity cost minimization problem satisfied the convexity is formulated, and the optimal power consumption scheduling algorithm is proposed based on the iterative method. Extensive simulations show that the proposed algorithm achieves the group management gain compared to the individual building operation by increasing the degree of freedom for the operation.

  • In third world countries like Pakistan, the production of electricity has been quickly reduced in past years due to rely on the fossil fuel. According to a survey conducted in 2017, the overall electrical energy capacity was 22,797MW, since the electrical grids have gone too old, therefore the efficiency of grids, goes down to nearly 17000MW. Significant addition of fossil fuel, hydro and nuclear is 64.2%, 29% and 5.8% respectively in the total electricity production in Pakistan. In 2018, the demand crossed 20,223MW, compared to peak generation of 15,400 to 15,700MW as by the Ministry of Water and Power. Country faces a deficit of almost 4000MW to 5000MW for the duration of 2019 hot summer term. Focus on one aspect considering Demand Side Management (DSM) cannot oversea the reduction of gap between power demand and customer supply, which eventually leads to the issue of load shedding. Hence, a scheduling scheme is proposed in this paper called RPSMDSM that is based on selection of those appliances that need to be only Turned-On, on priority during peak hours consuming minimum energy. The Home Energy Management (HEM) system is integrated between consumer and utility and bidirectional flow is presented in the scheme. During peak hours of electricity, the RPSMDSM is capable to persuade less power consumption and accomplish productivity in load management. Simulations show that RPSMDSM scheme helps in scheduling the electricity loads from peak price to off-peak price hours. As a result, minimization in electricity cost as well as (Peak-to-Average Ratio) PAR are accomplished with sensible waiting time.

수용가 수요관리용 전지전력저장시스템의 최적용량 산정방법 (Optimal Capacity Determination Method of Battery Energy Storage System for Demand Management of Electricity Customer)

  • The paper proposes an optimal sizing method of a customer's battery energy storage system (BESS) which aims at managing the electricity demand of the customer to minimize electricity cost under the time of use(TOU) pricing. Peak load limit of the customer and charging and discharging schedules of the BESS are optimized on annual basis to minimize annual electricity cost, which consists of peak load related basic cost and actual usage cost. The optimal scheduling is used to assess the maximum cost savings for all sets of candidate capacities of BESS. An optimal size of BESS is determined from the cost saving curves via capacity of BESS. Case study uses real data from an apartment-type factory customer and shows how the proposed method can be employed to optimally design the size of BESS for customer demand management.

  • This Paper describes Peak load forecasting technique of pole transformers with correlation equation. While customers are demanding safe energy supply, current correlation equation that is used for load management of pole transformers has some problems. To get accurate correlation equation. several correlation equation were examined using past data and nu data collected using the measuring instrument developed for this study. It was recognized that the quadratic equation was the most accurate for peak load forecasting from working electrical energy.

큐잉모델에 기초한 자율 지능 부하 관리 시스템 연구 (A Study of Autonomous Intelligent Load Management System Based on Queueing Model)

  • 본 논문은 전력회사와 수용가가 실시간으로 상호 협력하면서 효율적으로 여름철 냉방부하를 관리하여 첨두부하를 저감하기 위한 기법에 대하여 기술한다. 전력회사가 필요 관리량을 수용가 측에 요청하면 부하관리 요청을 받은 수용가, 예를 들면 대규모 아파트 단지의 중앙 지능관리 서버(Central Intelligent Management Server: CIMS)가 자율적인 관리를 통하여 요구받은 관리전력 이내로 부하율을 조정하도록 한다. 부하율을 관리하기 위한 수단으로CIMS는 필요 관리 부하전력에 따라 냉방기를 가동할 수 있는 권리에 해당하는 적정 수의 토큰(Token)을 발행하고 각 세대내의 냉방기를 제어할 수 있는 다수의 로컬 지능관리 서버(Local Intelligent Management Server: LIMS)들이 각 집안의 상황에 따라 냉방기를 가동하기 원할 경우에 전체 관리 서버에게 냉방기를 가동할 수 있는 권리에 해당하는 토큰을 요청하도록 한다. CIMS는 LIMS들의 토큰 요청을 관리하기 위한 큐(Queue)를 구성하여 관리하고 토큰을 요구한 각 LIMS들은 토큰을 할당받는 대로 자신이 담당하는 세대내의 냉방기를 가동하고 일정조건이 만족되면 자율 또는 타율로 토큰을 반납하여 큐에서 기다리는 다른 LIMS들에게도 토큰이 할당될 수 있도록 한다. 큐 운영 정책에 다양한 냉방기 운용 환경 정보를 반영하고 CIMS와 LIMS간에 원만한 상호 협력을 위하여 지능형 멀티 에이전트(Multi-Agent) 시스템으로 구성하고 이들을 계층구조의 네트워크로 연결하였다. 제안하는 기법을 서울의 한 아파트단지의 여름철 전력수요 데이터를 예로 하여 예상되는 대기 시간과 지원 받을 수 있는 전력요금 규모를 산정해 보았으며, 비교적 적은 수용가의 불편으로 큰 부하관리 효과를 얻을 수 있는 것을 알 수 있었다.

  • The rapid growth of air conditioning load has become a main reason of peak load increase in summer. In connection with this, we surveyed the load management projects of utilities world wide and their detailed activities. This study is to develop a remote load control system using computer and radio communications. We finished the field-test of this system on August 1995 in Seoul area. During the field-test, the remote load control of air conditioners was proved to be well-timed. Two control modes, group control and all control, are available for the user to select. The transmission reliability of the load control signal was very good and the functions of system hardware as well as the software were excellent. So we confirmed the applicability of the load control system including the pager communication network. In this paper, detailed information on the system functions and experimental results are described.
