  • In this paper, the fault current limiting characteristics of a flux-lock type superconducting fault current limiter (SFCL) with peak current limiting function were analyzed through its short-circuit tests. The setting condition for the peak current limiting operation was derived from its electrical equivalent circuit, which was dependent on the inductance ratio between the third coil and the first coil. Through the analysis on the short-circuit tests for the flux-lock type SFCLs with the different inductance ratio between the third coil and the first coil, the setting value for the peak current limiting operation of the flux-lock type SFCL with peak current limiting function could be confirmed to be adjusted with the variation of the inductance ratio between the third coil and the first coil.

  • The superconducting fault current limiter (SFCL) with a peak current limiting function according to the initial fault current with the different amplitudes was suggested. The proposed SFCL, which consists of two limiting components, causes only the first superconducting element among two limiting components to be quenched in case that the initial fault current with the lower peak amplitude happens. On the other hand, the initial fault current with the higher peak amplitude makes both the superconducting elements of two limiting components to be quenched, which contributes to the peak current limiting function of the SFCL. To confirm the fault current limiting operation of the proposed SFCL, the short-circuit tests of the SFCL according to the fault angle were carried out and its effective fault current limiting operations could be discussed.

  • In this paper, the operational characteristics due to the introduction of the superconducting fault current limiter(SFCL) with a peak current limiting function were analyzed in the power distribution system. The parallel structure of the superconducting element can operate the peak current limiting function depending on the transient amplitude of fault current. We studied the operating characteristics of the introduction of the SFCL with a peak current limiting function in the power distribution system. Furthermore, we were analyzed between the SFCL with a peak current limiting function and the protection devices in the power distribution system, through the short circuit experiments.

  • A double line commutation (DLC) type SFCL with first peak limiting function has been proposed for ideal fault current limiting operation. Very fast switching (commutation) without any arc or high voltage problems for any kind of switching device is needed for the first peak current limiting. We've tried to find suitable conditions for a successful switching of a Vacuum Interrupter (VI) with HTS elements as a Peak Current limiting Resistance (PCR).

  • In this paper, we analyzed the operational characteristics of the fault current limiting according to the amplitude of the fault current for the transformer type superconducting fault current limiter (SFCL). If the fault current happens, the superconducting element connected to the secondary coil is occurred quench and the fault current is limited. When the larger fault current occurs, the superconducting element connected to the third coil is occurred additional quench and the peak fault current is limited. We found that the fault current can be more effectively controlled through the analysis of the fault current limiting and the short-circuit tests.

이중철심을 이용한 병렬연결된 자기결합형 초전도한류기의 전류제한 및 회복특성 (Current Limiting and Recovery Characteristics of Two Magnetically Coupled Type SFCL with Two Coils Connected in Parallel Using Dual Iron Cores)

  • 본 논문은 고장발생 초기 고장전류의 크기에 따라 피크전류제한 기능을 갖도록 하나의 철심에 기존 1차 코일과 2차 코일이 병렬로 연결된 초전도 소자 1과 추가적인 철심을 사용하여 3차 권선에 초전도 소자 2가 연결된 자기결합형 초전도한류기를 제안하였다. 이중 철심을 이용하여 코일 1과 코일 2간 병렬로 연결한 자기결합형 초전도한류기가 고장발생시 피크전류를 초전도 소자 1만이 분담하는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 그 이유는 초기 사고전류의 순간적인 요소가 커서 초전도 소자 1이 ?치되어 작동하였으나, 코일 3에 흐르는 전류가 임계전류를 초과하지 않았고, 이로 인해 초전도 소자 2가 ?치되어 작동하지 않았기 때문이다. 사고 시 피크전류를 순차적인 초전도 소자로 제한하기 위해서는 코일 1이 낮은 자기인덕턴스 값을 갖고 있으면서도 코일 2보다 코일 3이 보다 높은 자기인덕턴스 값을 갖도록 설계해야 할 것이다. 또한, 고장 발생 초기 사고전류의 크기를 결정하는 고장조건 중의 하나인 1차 코일과 2차 코일간의 권선비가 0.25일 때 두 SFCL의 전류제한 및 회복특성에 대한 검증을 선로단락실험을 통해 분석되었다. 이 단락실험의 분석결과, 가극결선인 경우가 감극결선한 경우보다도 전류제한 및 회복특성이 더욱 우수함을 확인할 수 있었다.

  • The main drawback of parallel type active power filters (APFs) is the large capacity required for harmonic compensation. This paper evaluates the APF capacity requirement for harmonic/reactive power compensation for thyristor converter load. Theoretically achievable maximum power factor under partial load is evaluated. it is shown that the APF capacity can be considerably reduced by deliberately limiting the peak current, while maintaining the filtering performance with an acceptable total harmonic current level. the minimum capacity requirement of APF with current limiting is evaluated as a function of the firing angle of thyristor converter and short circuit ratio(SCR).

  • The latest development flow of MCCB(Molded Case Circuit Breaker) is largely separated from which are high capability of interrupting compact of size and multi-ability in functions. As follow of development of industrial system. MCCB which are including communication function and having a ultimate interrupting capability is required in electrical system. to attain an effective limitation of the peak let-through current and the let-through energy, the arc has to move rapidly off the contacts and has to increase the arc voltage which mainly effect to interrupt. In this paper. we made high performance circuit breaker which including current limiting unit which is attached to the main which is simulated by CAE tool that are repulsion force and mechanical dynamics after that we tested and finally selected optimized for circuit breaker.

고농도 질산용액에서 Ag(I) 이온의 확산계수 측정 (Diffusion Coefficient of Ag(I) ion in the Concentrated Nitric Acid Solution)

  • 유해성 유기물을 효과적으로 분해시키는데 이용되는 Ag(II)이온에 의한 전기화학적 매개산화 공정의 한계전류밀도를 예측하기 위하여 질산전해질의 농도, Ag(I) 이온의 농도 및 온도변화에 따른 Ag(I)/Ag(II) 이온쌍의 cyclic voltammogram을 백금전극에서 얻었으며, 피크전류로부터 Ag(I) 이온의 확산계수를 구하였다. Ag(I)/Ag(II) 이온쌍의 산화환원 반응은 물 분해 반응에 의해 크게 영향을 받았으며 백그라운드 보정을 통하여 정확한 피크전류를 측정할 수 있었다. Ag(I) 이온의 확산계수를 질산용액의 점도 및 온도의 함수로 나타냄으로써 전기화학적 매개산화공정의 한계전류밀도를 용이하게 예측할 수 있는 실험식을 제시하였다.
