Nickel silicide에 대한 Pd 첨가 효과 : ab initio 계산 (Effect of Pd addition on nickel silicide : ab initio calculation)

  • Effect of Pd addition on crystal structures of two nickel silicides, NiSi and $NiSi_2$, is investigated by using an ab initio calculation. A Pd atom substitutes a Ni and Si site, respectively, to evaluate the preferable site between them. Pd prefers Ni site to Si site in NiSi, while it prefers Si site to Ni site in $NiSi_2$. The calculated total energy also indicates that the Pd substitution to Si site stabilizes the $NiSi_2$ structure. This calculated data matches well with the experimental data obtained from Atom probe.

Ti-Pd계 합금의 미세조직변화에 따른 부식거동 (Corrosion Behavior of Ti-Pd System Alloys by Microstructural changes)

  • The surface microstructural changes, mechanical properties and corrosion resistance of Ti-Pd alloys for dental biomaterials have been investigated. Ti, Ti-Pd alloys were melted in arc furnace and the corrosion resistance of Ti-Pd alloys was evaluated by anodic polarization test. The surface microstructural changes and mechanical properties of Ti-Pd alloys were analysed by scanning electron microscope and Vickers micro-hardness tester. The vickers hardnees of pure Ti improved by addition of Pd but Ti-25Pd alloy showed decreasing compared with Ti-15Pd. And anodic polarization and potentiostatic test were conducted in 5% HCl to quantify the resistance to corrosion with the addition of Pd, There was no significant difference in corrosion resistance between pure Ti, Ti-5Pd and Ti-15Pd alloy. However, Ti-25Pd alloy showed decreasing compared with pure Ti in corrosion resistance. From these results, it was concluded that newly formulated Ti-15Pd experimental alloy have adequate hardness and high corrosion resistance, and this alloy is promising candidate for a successful dental casting alloy.

AZ61-xPd (x = 0, 1 and 2 wt%) Mg합금의 미세조직 및 인장특성에 미치는 열처리의 영향 (Effect of Aging Treatment on the Microstructure and Tensile Properties of AZ61-xPd (x = 0, 1 and 2 wt%) Alloys)

  • In this study, the effect of aging treatment on the microstructure and tensile properties of AZ61-xPd (x = 0, 1 and 2 wt%) alloys were investigated. The microstructure of as-cast AZ61-xPd alloys mainly consisted of ${\alpha}-Mg$, $Mg_{17}Al_{12}$ and $Al_4Pd$ phases. After solution treatment, most of the $Mg_{17}Al_{12}$ phases were dissolved into the Mg matrix. Thereafter, $Mg_{17}Al_{12}$ phases were finely formed and distributed near thermally stable $Al_4Pd$ phases and inside the grains through aging treatment at $220^{\circ}C$ during 88 hours. With the aging at $220^{\circ}C$, the peak aged AZ61-xPd alloys showed higher hardness than as-cast and solution treated AZ61-xPd alloys. In particular, the AZ61-1Pd alloy was optimized due to refined $Mg_{17}Al_{12}$ and $Al_4Pd$ phases. Further, the peak aging time was reduced with increasing Pd addition (>1 wt%). Tensile strength was increased by Pd addition at $25^{\circ}C$, $150^{\circ}C$, both as-cast and peak aged AZ61-xPd alloys. After aging treatment, room and high temperature tensile strength were increased more than the as-cast specimens. The AZ61-1Pd alloy especially showed the largest strength increase range. Elongation was decreased with addition Pd at $25^{\circ}C$ and $150^{\circ}C$.

Pd 첨가가 금속수소화물 전극 특성에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Pd Addition on Electrode properties of Metal Hydride)

  • 현재 수소저장 합금을 이용하여 2차전지의 음극으로 개발되고 있는 $AB_5$ type의 $(LM)Ni_{4.49}Co_{0.1}Mn_{0.205}Al_{0.205}$ 조성의 수소저장합금과 $AB_2$ type의 $Ti_{0.6}Zr_{0.4}V_{0.6}Ni_{1.4}$ 조성의 수소저장합금에 Pd를 0, 0.5, 1, 2 wt% 첨가한 조성을 진공 중에서 arc 용해를 하였다. 용해된 합금의 조직과 결정구조를 SEM, XRD로 조사하였다. Pd 가 첨가되었음에도 조직이나 결정구조의 변화는 보이지 않았다. 미세한 구리분말을 합금분말 대비 3:1로 첨가하여 pellet형태의 전극을 제조하여 전극특성을 조사한 결과 Pd 첨가에 따른 초기 활성화와 급속 충방전 특성은 크게 변하지 않았다. 그러나 싸이클 수명에 있어서는 Pd를 첨가한 전극들이 Pd를 첨가하지 않는 전극에 비해 우수하였다. $AB_5$ type 조성의 합금에서는 Pd를 2wt% 첨가한 전극, 그리고 $AB_2$ type 조성의 합금에서는 Pd를 0.5wt% 첨가한 전극에서 싸이클 특성이 가장 우수하게 나타났다.

Competitive Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay for Glucose-6-Phosphate Dehydrogenase

  • To construct a competitive ELISA standard curve for the detection of glucose-6-phosphate debydrogenase (G6PD), we used highly purified native G6PD (nG6PD) as both immobilized and soluble antigens and anti-G6PD serum raised against nG6PD as antibody. The polystyrene cuvettes coated with nG6PD were challenged with a mixture of a limiting amount of anti-G6PD serum and various doses of nG6PD as competitors followed by incubation with alkaline phosphatase-anti-IgG conjugate. The competitive ELISA did not exhibit the typical sigmoidal dose-response curve characteristic of competition immunoassays under the optimal concentrations of antigen and antibody. The soluble nG6PD used as competitor failed to effectively inhibit the binding of antibodies to the immobilized nG6PD. The addition of NADP, a cofactor of G6PD enzyme, to coating buffer used for immobilizing nG6PD to the cuvettes and PBS-Tween-BSA buffer for diluting competitors did not improve the inhibition of antibody binding to immobilized nG6PD by soluble n/G6PD. The addition of BSA to coating buffer did not increase inhibition, either. Surprisingly, when partially active G6PD (paG6PD), obtained by repeated freeze-thawing, was used as competitor, the antibody binding to either immobilized nG6PD or immobilized paG6PD was inhibited 49-58%. We conclude that an effective competitive ELISA system with nG6PD enzyme and anti-G6PD serum for the detection of G6PD may not be established due to the poor inhibition of antibody binding to immobilized nG6PD by soluble nG6PD under the present assay conditions and that the inhibition may be improved by using an inactivated enzyme as competitor regardless of the type of immobilized antigen used. These results imply that the immobilized nG6PD may undergo denaturation upon binding to the polystyrene cuvettes and that our anti-G6PD serum may recognize denatured enzyme better than active enzyme.

Magnetic Characteristics of CoNbZr amorphous Films with Pd addition

  • The present paper is to investigate the phase stability and soft magnetic properties of amorphous CoNbZr films when Pd is added as a substitution for CoNbZr alloys. The films were prepared by a RF magnetron sputtering method. The CoNbZrPd films deposited on Si wafers exhibited amorphous structures being independent upon the amount of Pd added in the films. On the addition of 4.34% Pd, the excellent soft magnetic characteristics of the films were observed with a coercive force of 0.54 Oe and an anisotropy field of 11 Oe, whereas a coercive force of 1 Oe and an anisotropy field of 3.5 Oe were shown in the film without the addition of Pd. The increased anisotropy field and low coercive force of the films may be attributed to the occupancy of Pd in the preferred sites parallel to the external magnetic field applied on the deposition process. A permeability of about 1100 was kept constant in the operation frequency ranging up to 100 MHz, which can be explained by the Landau-Lifshitz formula.

Pd 첨가량 및 첨가방법이 알코올 센서용 SnO2 반도체 후막 특성에 미치는 영향 연구 (Effects of Pd Addition Amount and Method on the Characteristics of SnO2 Semiconductor Thick Films for Alcohol Gas Sensors)

  • In this paper, two methods of making the Pd-added $SnO_2$ ($Pd-SnO_2$) powder with pure tetragonal phase by the hydrazine method were suggested and compared in terms of crystal structure, surface morphology, and alcohol gas response. One of the addition methods is to use $PdCl_2$ as a Pd source, the other is to use Pd-based organic with oleylamine (OAM). When Pd concentration was increased from 0 to 5 wt%, the average grain size of $Pd-SnO_2$ made with Pd-OAM were decreased from 32 to 12 nm. In the case of using with $PdCl_2$, grain size of the $PdCl_2$ fell to less than 10 nm. However, agglomerated and extruded surface morphology was observed for the films with Pd addition over 4 wt%. The crack-free $Pd-SnO_2$ thick films were able to successfully fill the $30{\mu}m$ gap of patterned Pt electrodes by optimized ink dropping method. Also, the 2 wt% $Pd-SnO_2$ thick film made with PdCl2 showed gas responses ($R_{air}/R_{gas}$) of 3.7, 5.7 and 9.0 at alcohol concentrations of 10, 50 and 100 ppm, respectively. On the other hand, the prepared 3 wt% $Pd-SnO_2$ thick film with Pd-OAM exhibited very excellent responses of 3.4, 6.8 and 12.2 at the equivalent measurement conditions, respectively. The 3 wt% $Pd-SnO_2$ thick film with Pd-OAM has a specific surface area of $31.39m^2/g$.

광전자분광법을 이용한 Pd-실리사이드의 형성 연구 (Study of the formation of Pd-silicide with x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy)

  • Pd금속을 9$\AA$보다 많은 양을 Si표면에 증착한 경우에 형성되는 Pd-실리사이드는 순 수한 Pd금속이 쌓이기 전단계인 Pd양이 많은 $Pd_3Si$상이다. 또한, Si표면에 Pd금속을 1$\AA$이 상을 증착 하였을 때 형성되는 Pd-실리사이드는 $Pd_2Si$상이다. 그리고, Si표면에 Pd금속을 1 $\AA$보다 작은 양을 증착한 Pd 3d 내각준위의 분광을 보면, Pd의 증착 두께가 얇아질수록 Pd 3d 내각준위의 반높이에서 반너비(half width at half maximum:HWHM)의 크기가 넓어진 다. 매우 작은 양의 Pd금속을 Si표면에 증착한 경우에 반너비가 넓어진 이유는 많은 연구자 들이 찾아낸 Pd-실리사이드인 $Pd_2Si$상외에 Si양이 많은 새로운 Pd-실리사이드인 PdSi상이 존재하는 것 때문이다.

티타니아에 담지된 귀금속촉매의 H2O-H2 전처리에 따른 휘발성유기화합물 산화에 미치는 영향 (A Effect of H2O-H2 Pretreatment on VOCs Oxidation over Noble Catalysts on Titania)

  • 연구에서는 $TiO_2$ 담체에 귀금속(Pd, Ru, Ir)을 담지시켜 촉매를 제조하였다. 금속분산의 향상을 위해 $H_2O-H_2$ 전처리 기술이 이용되었고, 반응물로서 xylene, toluene 그리고 MEK를 사용하였다. 단일금속과 합금금속의 촉매들은 함침법에 의해 준비하였고, XRD, XPS 분석을 통하여 특성 분석하였다. Pd-Ru, Pd-Ir 촉매는 다양한 활성점을 나타내었고, 그것은 Pd의 metal 영역를 강화시켰다. 합금금속으로 이루어진 촉매가 단일 금속으로 이루어진 촉매에 비해 VOCs 전환율이 더 높았다. $H_2O-H_2$ 전처리 기술은 Pd 입자를 고르게 분산시켰다. 이는 촉매의 효율을 증진시키는 효과를 보여주었다. 본 연구에서 Pd에 소량의 Ru, Ir 첨가는 VOCs의 산화반응을 증진시켰고, $TiO_2$ 담체상에서 $H_2O-H_2$ 전처리는 VOCs의 제거효율을 증진시켰다.
