  • Effect of PbO addition on sintering and piezoelectric properties at 0.45Pb(Ni1/3Nb2/3)O3-0.40PbTiO3-0.15PbZrO3 composition which is tetragonal phase was investigated. In this composition, Porosity and dielectric constant were increased with excess PbO addition, but Kp and d31 was not changed. These variation of physical properties could be interpreted as composition change of solid grains from tetragonal to MPB region due to amount of PbO-rich liquid changing.

  • The quarternary system ceramics 0.5[yPb(Zn1/3Nb2/3)O3-(1-y)Pb(Ni1/3Nb2/3)O3]-0.5[xPbTiO3-(1-x)PbZrO3](PZN-PNN-PT-PZ) was fabricated by the columbite precursor method to obtain a stabilized perovskite structure and by conventional method to evaluate the efficiency of the former methd. Dielectric and piezoelectric properties were investigated and the stability of the perovskite phase was studied as a function of PZN and PT contents and firing temperature. In the samples prepared by the columbite precursor method, the pyrochlore phase, which is detrimental to both the dielectric and piezoelectric properties, was not observed in the absence of PZN, and electric properties were improved even when fabricated at low temperature. By adding PZN, some pyrochlore phase appeared and the morphotropic phase boundary of the samples shifted to more Zr-rich composition. The temperature dependence of piezoelectric constant decreased with the addition of PZN, due to the rising of the Curie point.

  • Effects of MnO2 addition on themicrostructure, dielectric and piezoelectric properties of Rhombohedral, Tetragonal and Morphotropic phase boundary(MPB) in Pb(Ni1/3Nb2/3)O3-PbTiO3-PbZrO3 system were investigated and respectively the amount of MnO2 addition was 0, 0.2, 0.5, 1.0, 3.0wt%. In the tetragonal region, compared with the Rhombohedral and Morpotropic phase boundary, Mechanical quality factor(Qm), Curie temperature(Tc) and Dissipation factor were promoted by addition of MnO2. According to the results of the microstructure, dielectric and piezoelectric properties, the solid solution range of MnO2 addition in this system was 0.2-0.5wt%.

  • The possiblity of the existence of a spontaneous relaxor-normal ferroelectric transition was proposed and examined using 1~5 mol% PbZrO3-doped Pb(Ni1/3Nb2/3)O3-PbTiO3 (PNN-PT) systems having tetragonal symmetry at rom temperature. On cooling, the system with 60mol% Pb(Ni1/3Nb2/3)O3 underwent a spontaneous transition from a relaxor to a normal ferroelectric state. A microscopic examination demonstrates that the relaxornormal ferroelectric transition corresponds to a micro-macro domain switching accompanied with thermoelastic martensitic transformation. The long-range macrodomains below the transition temperature were characterized by twinlike 90$^{\circ}$macrodomains with tetragonal symmetry. The relaxor-normal ferroelectric transition was further correlated with the rhombohedral-tetragonal first-order structural transition.

  • The dielectric and piezoelectric properties with compositions in Pb(Ni1/3Nb2/3)O3-PbTiO3-PbZrO3-(PNN-PT-PZ)solid solution ceramics were investigated. In this study, the compsition ranges were 30 PNN 45mole%, 20 PT 50mole% and 50 PZ5mole%. As PT fraction were increased the grain size was increased and the fired density was decreased, but the changes of PNN fraction had no effect on the grain size. The Curie temperature was increased when PT and PNN fraction were increased. The displacement was increased but had a great hysteresis loss when PT fraction was increased. In morphotropic phase boundary, the maximum piezoelectric and electromechanical coupling factor were indicated. Morphotropic phase boundary(MPB) was 34 PT 36mole% in chang of compositions.

  • 본 연구에서는 $Fe_2O_3$를 첨가한 $Pb(Ni_{1/3}Nb_{2/3})O_3-Pb(Zr_xTi_{1-x})O_3$ 세라믹스에서 Zr/Ti 비 변화에 따른 소결 및 압전, 유전특성을 조사하였다. $0.4Pb(Ni_{1/3}Nb_{2/3})O_3-0.6Pb(Zr_xTi_{1-x})O_3$+0.25Wt% $Fe_2O_3$ 계에서 Zr/(Ti+Zr)비(x)를 0.39에서 0.42까지 변화시킨 조성을 1100 - $1250^{\circ}C$ 온도에서 2시간 소결하여 이의 결정구조 및 미세조직을 분석하였고, 압전, 유전 특성 및 RAINBOW 액츄에이터로의 응용을 조사하였다. $1150^{\circ}C$에서 소결한 0.405 조성(x)에서 유전상수(${\varepsilon}r$) = 4669, 전기기계결합계수(kp) = 0.75, 압전상수($d_{33}$) = 810 pC/N의 우수한 특성 값을 나타내었으며, 닥터블레이드법에 의해 RAINBOW 액츄에이터를 제작하여 변위특성을 조사하였다.

  • 본 연구에서는 초음파 센서에 응용 가능한 $0.4Pb(Ni_{1/3}Nb_{2/3})O_3-0.6Pb(Zr_xTi_{1-x})O_3+0.5Wt%$ $MnO_2$ 세라믹스에 Zr/(Ti+Zr)비를 0.37에서 0.41로 변화시킨 조성을 1175 $\sim$ 1200$^{\circ}C$ 온도에서 소결하여 이의 결정구조 및 미세조직을 분석하였고, 압전, 유전 특성을 고찰하였다. 본조성에서 x=0.385 조성에서 최대 유전상수 값 3490 이 나타났으며, 그 이상의 첨가에서는 감소하였다. 상경계 영역인 x=0.385 조성에서 $\varepsilon$r, $K_p$, $d_{33}$ 값이 최대값을 나타내었다. $0.4Pb(Ni_{1/3}Nb_{2/3})O_3-0.6Pb(Zr_xTi_{1-x})O_3+0.5Wt%$ $MnO_2$, 세라믹스에서는 kp 와 $d_{33}$ 는 Zr/(Ti+Zr)비 0.385조성까지 증가하였다가 그 이상 조성에서 감소하였다. $1175^{\circ}C$에서 2시간 소결한 x=0.385조성에서 $\varepsilon$r=3490, kp=0.71, Qm=476의 우수한 압전 특성을 나타내었다.
