Microwave Dielectric Properties of $[(Pb_{1-x}Ba_{x})_{1/2}La_{1/2}](Mg_{1/2}Nb_{1/2})O_{3}$ Ceramics ($[(Pb_{1-x}Ba_{x})_{1/2}La_{1/2}](Mg_{1/2}Nb_{1/2})O_{3}$의 마이크로파 유전 특성)

  • The microwave dielectric properties of $[(Pb_{1-x}Ba_{x})_{1/2}La_{1/2}](Mg_{1/2}Nb_{1/2})O_{3}$ ceramics were investigated. When $[(Pb_{0.9}Ba_{0.1})_{1/2}La_{1/2}](Mg_{1/2}Nb_{1/2})O_{3}$ ceramics were sintered at $1250^{\circ}C$ and $1350^{\circ}C$ for 2hr, the microwave dielectric properties were obtained $\varepsilon_{r}=64\sim80$, $Q{\times}f=11,800\sim18,000$. As a result, $[(Pb_{0.9}Ba_{0.1})_{1/2}La_{1/2}](Mg_{1/2}Nb_{1/2})O_{3}$ having $\varepsilon_{r}=80$, $Q{\times}f=11,800$ (at 4 GHz) was developed.

  • The microwave dielectric properties of [(Pb$_{1-x}$ Ba$_{x}$)$_{1}$2/La$_{1}$2/](Mg$_{1}$2/Nb$_{1}$2/)O$_3$ ceramics were investigated. When [(Pb$_{0.9}$Ba$_{0.1}$)$_{1}$2/La$_{1}$2/](Mg$_{1}$2/Nb$_{1}$2/)O$_3$ ceramics were sintered at 125$0^{\circ}C$ and 135$0^{\circ}C$ for 2hr, the microwave dielectric properties were obtained $\varepsilon$$_{r}$=64~80, Qxf=11,800~18,000. As a result, [(Pb$_{0.9}$Ba$_{0.1}$)$_{1}$2/La$_{1}$2/](Mg$_{1}$2/Nb$_{1}$2/)O$_3$ having $\varepsilon$$_{r}$=80, Qxf=11,800 (at 4 GHz) was developed.ed.eveloped.ed.

  • Stability and formation of Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)O3 (PMN) phase synthesized in Li2SO4-Na2SO4 molten salts have been investigated. And powder characteristics of PMN have been studied with a variation of processing parameters such as temperature, time, amount of the salts, and excess PbO. More ratio of Li2SO4 to Na2SO4 influences the percentage of perovskite phase due to the difference of the eutectic point of the salts, but does not influence the powder characteristics. The shape of PMN particles shows faceted morphology with bimodal distribution consisting with large and submicron parts. Particle size of PMN increased greatly with increasing soaking time or amount of salts rather than temperature. The addition of excess PbO resulted in round PMN crystallites without submicron particles. These results are discussed by XRD, SEM and thermal analyses.

  • In this study, Pb(Z $r_{0.52}$ $Ti_{0.48}$) $O_{3}$ ceramic thin films were fabricated from an alkoxide-based by Sol-Gel method. Pb(Z $r_{0.52}$ $Ti_{0.48}$) $O_{3}$ stock solution was made and spin-coated on the Pt/ $SiO_{2}$/Si substrate at 4000[rpm] for 30[sec.]. Coated specimens were chied at 400[.deg. C] for 10[min]. The coating process was repeated 6 times and then heat-treated at 500-800[.deg. C] and 1 hour. The final thickness of the thin films were about 4800[.angs.]. The ferroelectric perovskite phases precipitated under the sintering of 700[.deg. C] for 1 hour. Pb(Z $r_{0.52}$ $Ti_{0.48}$) $O_{3}$ thin films sintered at 700[.deg. C] for 1 hour showed good dielectric and ferroelectric properties.

  • $PbO-B_2O_3-SiO_2-Al_2O_3$, system was investigated for optical, thermal and electrical properties of transparent dielectric. We also studied the reaction between transparent dielectric and transparent electrode(Indium Tin Oxide, ITO) during firing. For the evaluation of properties, dielectrics were prepared under the conditions fired at 520~58$0^{\circ}C$ with 12$\mu\textrm{m}$ thickness. In the reaction between dielectrics and electrode(ITO), In ions diffused into dielectric layer, while Sn ion diffusion was not observed. The coefficient of thermal expansion, the dielectric constant, the glass transition temperature and the transmittance of the dielectric were greatly dependent on PbO content. The increase of the coefficient of thermal expansion and the dielectric constant were monitored by increasing PbO, while the glass transition temperature and the transmittance were decreased. With the increased $Al_2O_3/B_2O_3$ ratio, the coefficient of thermal expansion and the transmittance were decreased, while the dielectric constant was increased. The glass transition temperature did not change significantly.

Dielectric Characteristics of PbSc1/2Nb1/2O3 Prepared by Using the One-step Solid State Reaction

  • The $PbSc_{1/2}Nb_{1/2}O_3$ ceramics at a relatively low temperature of $1300^{\circ}C$ was successful synthesized. Solid state reaction of two-step process is not necessary. The dielectric constant, dielectric loss and admittance of ceramic samples were determined. The pyroelectric characteristics are in good agreement with the dielectric properties. Ferroelectric properties of well-formed the $PbSc_{1/2}Nb_{1/2}O_3$ ceramics are in agreement with broad distribution of relaxation phenomenon. Relatively strong frequency dependent of dielectric constant is observed at about $110^{\circ}C$. The distinct thermal hysteresis was observed in the measurement of the dielectric constant and dielectric loss. The critical exponents of during cooling and heating measurements in the $PbSc_{1/2}Nb_{1/2}O_3$ ceramics were 1.14 and 1.59 at 1 kHz, respectively.

  • Lead titanate(PT) and lead magnesium niobate(PMN) ceramic powders were prepared by microwave hy-drothermal method using teflon bomb. Raw materials were Pb(NO3)2 and TiO2 for lead titanate and Pb(NO3)2 Nb2O5 and Mg(NO)3.6H2O for PMN with NaOH as mineralizer in both cases. in lead titanate synthsis rate of microwave hydrothermal method was faster three times than one f conventional hydrothermal methods In lead magnesium niobate synthsis the mixture of perovskite and pyrochlore phases was obtained by single step technique and the PMN was not obtained by double step technique due to low temperature limitation of teflon bomb.

  • Epitaxial (La, Sr)$CoO_3/Pb(Zr,\;Ti)O_3/(La,\;Sr)CoO_3$by pulsed laser deposition for ferroelectric field effect transistor. Epitaxial $LaCoO_3/Pb(Zr,\;Ti)O_3/(La,\;Sr)CoO_3$ heterostructures exhibited 70$\mu C/cm^2$ and 17 $\mu C/cm^2$at a positively and negatively poled states, respectively. On the other hand, epitaxial (La, Sr)$CoO_3/Pb(Zr,\;Ti)O_3/LaCoO_3$heterostructures show the remnant polarization states opposite to the $LaCoO_3/Pb(Zr,\;Ti)O_3/(La,\;Sr)CoO_3$ heterostructures. This indicates that the interface between (La, Sr)$CoO_3$ (LSCO) and $Pb(Zr, Ti)O_3(PZT)$ layers affects the asymmetric polarization remanence through electrochemical nature. The resistivity of $LaCoO_3$ (LCO) layer was found to be dependent on an ambient oxygen, primarily the ambient oxygen pressure during deposition. The resistivity of the LCO layer varied in the range of 0.1-100 $\Omega$cm. It is suggested that, with an appropriate resistivity of the LCO layer, the LCO/PZT/LSCO heterostructure can be used as the ferroelectric field effect transistor.

  • The principal problems in development of dielectric paste materials for PDP(plasma display panel)are PbO free paste and low melting temperature. We prepared PbO free paste from glasses in the system BaO-ZnO-$B_2O_3-V_2O_5$. DTA, XRD and SEM were used to study and characterize BaO-ZnO-$B_2O_3-V_2O_5$ glasses. PbO free paste developed at this paper has thermal expansion of $74{\times}10^{-7}/^{\circ}C$, DTA transformation point of $460^{\circ}C$, and firing condition of $560^{\circ}C$, 10min.

  • We report on the phase transitions of the perovskite nanostructures made by sol-gel template synthesis. The lead titanate ($PbTiO_{3}$) nanostructures were prepared with a chelate sol-gel of titanium tetrabutoxide ($Ti(O^{i}Pr){4}$) and lead acetate ($Pb(OAc)_{2}-3H_{2}O$). $Whatman^{\circledr}$ anodisc membranes (with about 200 nm pore size) served as the template. The template was dipped into the sol, allowed to air dry, and then calcined at $650^{\circ}C$. We have characterized the temperatures of the phase transitions in the $PbTiO_{3}$ nano-structures using DSC, DTA, and second harmonic generation (SHG).
