Modulating Effect of Lupeol on the Expression Pattern of Apoptotic Markers in 7, 12-Dimethylbenz(a)anthracene Induced Oral Carcinogenesis

  • Apoptosis, also known as cell suicide or programmed cell death, removes unwanted and genetically damaged cells from the body. Evasion of apoptosis is one of the major characteristic features of rapidly proliferating tumor cells. Chemopreventive agents inhibit or suppress tumor formation through apoptotic induction in target tissues. The aim of the present study was to investigate the pro-apoptotic potential of lupeol during 7,12-dimethylbenz(a) anthracene (DMBA) induced hamster buccal pouch carcinogenesis. Topical application of 0.5% DMBA three times a week for 14 weeks in the buccal pouches of golden Syrian hamsters resulted in oral squamous cell carcinoma. The expression pattern of apoptotic markers was analyzed using immunohistochemistry (p53, Bcl-2, Bax) and ELISA reader (caspase 3 and 9). In the present study, 100% tumor formation with defects in apoptotic markerexpression pattern was noticed in hamsters treated with DMBA alone. Oral administration of lupeol at a dose of 50mg/kg bw completely prevented the formation oral tumors as well as decreased the expression p53 and Bcl-2, while increasing the expression of Bax and the activities of caspase 3 and 9. The present study thus indicated that lupeol might inhibit DMBA-induced oral tumor formation through its pro-apoptotic potential in golden Syrian hamsters.

해바라기씨 단백질에서 plastein의 합성 (Plastein formation from sunflower seed protein)

  • 해바라기씨 단백질에서 plastein을 합성 이용하기 위해 먼저 해바라기씨를 pepsin을 이용해 가수분해하는 최적 조건과, plastein을 합성하는 최적 조건을 구하였다. 최적 가수분해 조건은 pH 1.5, $45^{\circ}C$, 2% 기질농도와 2% pepsin 농도에서 24시간 반응시키는 것이었고 plastein 합성의 최적조건은 기질농도 50%, pH 4.5, $50^{\circ}C$, 0.25% pepsin 농도에서 18시간 반응시키는 것이었다. Plastein의 생성을 확인하기 위해 thin layer chromatography를 실시한 결과 해바라기씨 농축가수분해물의 TLC pattern과 plastein의 TLC pattern이 하나의 spot를 제외하고는 다르게 나타났는데 이는 plastein과 기질이 다른 것임을 표시하는 것이었다.

Ti 전극의 Lift-off 공정을 이용한 홀 패턴 형성과 TCO-less 염료감응형 태양전지의 응용 (A Formation of Hole Pattern on Ti Electrode by Lift-off and Its Application to TCO-less Dye-sensitized Solar Cells)

  • In this study, we propose Ti hole pattern structure on the transparent conductive oxide (TCO) less dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) using the lift-off process to improve the low light transmittance and low efficiency caused by opaque Ti electrode. The formation of Ti hole patterns make it possible to move the dye adsorption and electrolyte. The DSSCs with Ti hole patterns showed a higher photoelectric conversion efficiency (PCE) than those with general structure by 11.1%. As a result, The Ti hole pattern structure can be improved to increase the light absorption of the dyes and PCE of the TCO-less DSSCs is also increased.

  • In this work, we analyze the spatial patterns of a predator-prey system with cross diffusion. First we get the critical lines of Hopf and Turing bifurcations in a spatial domain by using mathematical theory. More specifically, the exact Turing region is given in a two parameter space. Our results reveal that cross diffusion can induce stationary patterns which may be useful in understanding the dynamics of the real ecosystems better.

수도권 창업기업의 생멸에 대한 공간분포 패턴 분석 (A Spatial Analysis on the Formation and Dissolution of Start-up Firms in the Seoul Metropolitan Region)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 창업기업의 생성과 소멸이라는 생애주기 변화와 관련하여 나타나는 공간분포 패턴의 차이를 확인하는 것이다. 이를 위하여, 본 연구에서는 전국기업체총람과 폐업기업정보를 활용하여, 2007년부터 2009년까지 수도권에서 창업한 기업의 위치정보와 생성시점, 그리고 소멸시점을 파악하였다. 창업기업의 생멸분포 패턴에 대한 분석은 공간상의 분석단위에 대한 분포패턴을 정량적으로 분석하는 방법론인 평균점, 표준거리, 타원형 표준편차, 그리고 공간자기상관도 분석기법이 적용되었다. 분석 대상 창업기업 5,810개 중, 1,322개 기업이 5년 내에 소멸함으로써 77.25%의 5년 생존율이 산정되었다. 지역별 생멸분포 패턴의 분석 결과, 수도권 전체, 서울, 그리고 인천 경기 모두에서 기업의 생성분포에 비해 소멸분포가 분산의 정도가 큰 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 기업속성별 생멸분포 패턴 분석결과, 기업의 규모와 업종에 따라 창업기업의 생성과 소멸분포에 차이가 있는 것으로 확인되었다.

  • 온라인에서의 상호작용을 위한 수단으로서, 소셜 네트워크 서비스(Social Network Service, SNS)는 사용자의 인간관계를 기반으로 사회적 인맥 형성에 초점을 맞추고 있다. 또한, SNS는 인맥 관계를 관리하고 인맥관계를 기반으로 정보를 공유할 수 있도록 다양한 기능들을 제공한다. 따라서 SNS 사용자의 행동 특성과 인맥 관계 형성 과정의 분석은 온라인 인간관계에 대한 모델의 특징을 파악하는데 유용하다. 본 논문에서는 트위터에서 영향력 있는 사용자가 게시된 메시지의 특성을 기반으로 사용 패턴을 분석한다. 또한, 페이스북 내에서 인맥 관계 수를 기준으로 영향력이 큰 그룹과 그렇지 않은 그룹으로 분류하고, 두 그룹의 인맥 형성 특성을 비교하고 분석한 후 이에 따라 패턴 분석에 따라서 소셜 네트워크에서의 인간관계 모델의 특징을 설명한다.

Proplast와 Porous Polyethylene을 이용(利用)한 가토(家兎) 하악골(下顎骨) 증대술후(增大術後) 조직반응(組織反應) 및 골형성(骨形成)에 관(關)한 연구(硏究) (A Study on the Tissue Response and Bone Formation after Augmentation Using Proplast and Porous Polyethylene in Rabbit Mandible)

  • Proplast and Porous Polyethylene which have porous structures as low-modulus polymers have been recently used in maxillofacial plastic and reconstructive surgery. The purpose of this study was to compare the response of adajacent tissue, new bone formation and stability after augmentation by differen methods of subperiosteal graft using proplast and purous polythylene in rabbit mandible. The augmentation procedure was carried out by dividing into two groups, A and B. A group consisted of subperiosteal graft on the cortex, and the other B group was made up only graft following artificial decortication in the mandibular body of rabbit. The experimental animals were sacrificed on the 1st, 2nd, 4th and 8th week after grafting for macroscopic and light microscopic examination. The samples extracted at the 6th postgrafting week were also used for biometric testing and scanning electron microscopic examination. The results obtained from this study were as follows : 1. Macroscopically, infection of graft site, deformation and migration of graft material were not observed in all experimental groups. 2. B group showed more rapid and increased bone formation and the greater stability than A group, and tissue response was similar to each other. 3. In the tissue response, macrophages and cellular infiltrations were observed in Proplast group, but few in PHDPE group. 4. In bone formation of A group, Proplast group showed no bone formation until the 8th week, but PHDPE group showed small quantity of osteoid tissue from the 2nd week and appositional bone growth with new bone formation at the 8th week. 5. In bone formation of B group, both Proplast and PHDPE group showed bone formation, but PHDPE group showed more rapid and larger bone formation. 6. In pattern of bone formation, Proplast group mainly showed appositional bone growth pattern connected with graft site. On the other hand, PHDPE group showed mixed pattern of new bone formation in the pore connective tissue with appositional bone growth from graff site. 7. The maximum mean values of shear stress were serially $111.3gf/mm^{2}$ in PHDPE of B group, $84.8gf/mm^{2}$ in PHDPE of A group, $32.9gf/mm^{2}$ in Proplast B group, and $15.7gf/mm^{2}$ in Proplast of A group. From above results, It was suggested that the capacity of bone formation and stability between bone and graft material were dependent on the pore size and structure of graft material itself, the state of graft site and tissue response.

외복변인의 지적 인상형성에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Influence of Appearance Variables upon the Intellectual Impression Formation.)

  • The purpose of this study is to inquire into the influence of appearance cues on the intellectual impression formations, whether there are differen-ces in the impression formation between the case which the appearance is partially percepted and the case wholely percepted. The study consists of the experiment of the factorial design with 5 independent variables of Face (intellectual and social), Hair Style (intellec-tual and social), Clothing Style (intellectual and social), Textile Pattern(single, color, dot, and stri-pe), and Presentation Level of stimuli (upper-half and full-length). The outcomes of study are as follows : 1) The intellectual impression formation was influenced by face, clothing style, and textile pat-tern, but clothing style and textile pattern were more influential than face. When the models with intellectual face wore in intellectual clothing style, they gave more additional intellectual impression. And when intellectual clothing was in single color, it conveyed more intellectual impression. Hair style had no main effect but it influenced on the impression formation through interaction with other variables. 2) There were differences in the formation of the intellectual impressions between the case the appearance was partially percepted and the case wholely percepted. The case of full-lenth pressen-tation was more influential than that of upper-half presentation.

Smooth Formation Navigation of Multiple Mobile Robots for Avoiding Moving Obstacles

  • This paper addresses a formation navigation issue for a group of mobile robots passing through an environment with either static or moving obstacles meanwhile keeping a fixed formation shape. Based on Lyapunov function and graph theory, a NN formation control is proposed, which guarantees to maintain a formation if the formation pattern is $C^k,\;k\geq1$. In the process of navigation, the leader can generate a proper trajectory to lead formation and avoid moving obstacles according to the obtained information. An evolutionary computational technique using particle swarm optimization (PSO) is proposed for motion planning so that the formation is kept as $C^1$ function. The simulation results demonstrate that this algorithm is effective and the experimental studies validate the formation ability of the multiple mobile robots system.

배추흰나비의 큐티클 形成과 硬化에 따른 혈림프 단백질의 變化 (Changes of haemolymph proteins in Pieris rapae L. during the cuticle formation and hardening process)

  • 큐티클 形成 및 硬化過程中 血蛋白質의 變化와 起源을 규명하고자 acrylamide gel electrophoresis와 immunodiffusion 方法을 使用하였다. Acrylamide gel electrophoresis에서 적어도 19개의 protein band가 혈림프에서 發見되었으며 脂肪體에서는 13개의 band가 確認되었는데 이들은 대체적으로 일정한 pattern을 유지하였다. 또한 혈림프와 脂肪體의 一般的인 protein band의 pattern은 $3\\sim4$개의 강하게 染色된 band와 몇 개의 가는 band가 gel의 상단에 存在하는 것이 특징이었고 적어도 5개 이상의 haemolymph protein band가  期初에 걸쳐 일정하게 나타났다. Immunodiffusion test에서는 $8\\sim9$개의 血蛋白質에  期初에서 나타났는데 그중 2개의 血蛋白質은  期前에 나타났으며 다른 두 血蛋白質도  化직 후 脂肪體에서 나타남으로써 脂肪體가 이들 血蛋白質의 起源임을 암시하였다.
