  • Membrane structures, a kind of lightweight soft structural system, are used for spatial structures. The design procedure of membrane structures are needed to do shape finding, stress-deformation analysis and cutting pattern generation, because the material property has strong axial stiffness, but little bending stiffness. The problem of cutting pattern is highly varied in their size, curvature and material stiffness. So, the approximation inherent in cooing pattern generation methods is quite different. Therefore the ordinary computer software of structural analysis & design is not suitable for membrane structures. In this study, we develop the program for cutting pattern generation using geodesic line, and investigate the result of example's cutting pattern in detail.

  • This study includes investigation on sound transmission phenomena through a structural panel including structural vibration and feedback control methodology to minimize the transmission. Focus is placed on finding the relation between vibration pattern and sound transmission, and on finding optimal sensor and actuator location. A simple analog feedback control circuit is designed and implemented to verify the approach.

  • In this paper, a method is presented for finding an optimal temperature control pattern in microwaveoven using genetic algorithm. Power spectrum of temperature variance of charcoal is obtained and oven system modeling with fuzzy-neural-network is explained. Fan on/off timing is converted to strings in gene pool and then genetic iterations make the power spectrum of simmulated temperature variance of microwave oven closer to that o charcoal.

  • Identifying the major moving patterns of shoppers' movements in the selling floor has been a longstanding issue in the retailing industry. With the advent of RFID technology, it has been easier to collect the moving data for a individual shopper's movement. Most of the previous studies used the traditional clustering technique to identify the major moving pattern of customers. However, in using clustering technique, due to the spatial constraint (aisle layout or other physical obstructions in the store), standard clustering methods are not feasible for moving data like shopping path should be adjusted for the analysis in advance, which is time-consuming and causes data distortion. To alleviate this problems, we propose a new approach to spatial pattern clustering based on longest common subsequence (LCSS). Experimental results using the real data obtained from a grocery in Seoul show that the proposed method performs well in finding the hot spot and dead spot as well as in finding the major path patterns of customer movements.

  • The three main processes involved in the design of stressed membrane surface are surface form-finding, stress analysis and cutting pattern generation. The last process, cutting pattern generation, is considered as a very important procedure in the aspect of the practical design for the fabric membrane surface. In this paper, The cutting pattern generation technique using the geodesic line algorithms is first introduced. And the numerical examples resulting from this technique are presented. Cable elements are used for the approximating membrane surface and two kinds of model, square line and central line model, are used in pattern generation.   • 최근 개인정보 유출 사건으로 이를 이용한 2차적 피해에 대한 우려가 높아지고 있다. 아이디와 패스워드 같은 정보가 유출되더라도 추가적인 피해를 막기 위한 대책이 필요하다. 본 논문은 똑같은 단어를 타이핑 하더라도 사용자 마다 다른 패턴을 분석, 추출하여 로그인 시스템에 적용하는 기법을 제시한다. 즉 타인이 본인의 패스워드를 알아내 입력하더라도 다른 타이핑 패턴으로 인해 접근을 막는 시스템이다. 이를 위해 개인의 타이핑 패턴을 추출하는 알고리즘을 개발하고 이것을 바탕으로 적정 수준의 일치성을 가지는 패턴을 찾아내는데 이용할 수 있다.

  • 순위패턴매칭문제는 텍스트 T와 패턴 P가 주어질 때, P와 각 문자들의 순위가 동일한 순서로 나타나는 T의 모든 부분문자열을 찾는 문제이다. 순위패턴매칭문제는 주가지수분석과 음악의 유사성분석과 같이 문자 자체를 비교하는 것보다 값의 변화순서가 중요한 분야에서 연구가 진행되었다. 순위다중패턴매칭문제는 텍스트 T와 여러 개의 패턴들로 이루어진 패턴집합 $\mathbb{P}$가 주어질 때, $\mathbb{P}$에 속한 패턴과 각 문자들의 순위가 동일한 순서로 나타나는 T의 모든 부분문자열을 찾는 문제이다. 본 논문에서는 순위다중패턴매칭문제를 해결하는 해싱기반 알고리즘을 제시한다.

자동차 스키드마크 인식을 위한 FE-SM/SONN (The FE-SM/SONN for Recognition of the Car Skid Mark)

  • 본 논문은 차량이 급제동으로 인해 도로 위에 생성된 스키드마크와 같이 형태가 모호하게 나타난 영상을 인식하기 위해 FE-SM/SONN을 제안하였다. FE-SM/SONN은 타이어 트레드 패턴이 뭉개져서 나타나는 스키드마크 경우, 그 패턴이 모호한 영상으로 취득된다. 이를 인식하기 위해 퍼지 이론과 트레드 패턴의 특징을 이용한 자기 조직 신경망 인식기를 통해 스키드마크를 인식하는 방법이다. 이러한 실험을 위해 48개 타이어모델과 144개 스키드마크가 사용되었고, 전체 인식율은 89%이며, 비교 분석을 위해서는 기존 역전파 인식기에 비해 인식률 면에서 13.51%가 향상되었고, FE-MCBP에 비해 8.78% 향상을 보였다. 이 논문의 기대효과로는 모호한 영상의 특징을 추출하여 인식이 가능하였고, 트레드 패턴 영상이 그레이 영상으로 나타날 경우도 퍼지 이론에 의해 인식이 가능한 것으로 연구결과 나타났다.

막구조물의 준공평형형상해석 및 최적재단도 결정 (Determination of the Actual Equilibrium Shape Finding and Optimum Cutting Pattern for Membrane Structures)

  • In general, the cutting pattern of the membrane structures is determined by dividing the complicated curved 3-D surface into several 2-D plane strip by using flattening technique. In this procedure, however, some discrepancies ore occurred between actual stresses of equilibrated state and designed uniform stresses because the material properties are not considered. These deviations can cause the critical structural problems, wrinkling or overstress, and thus a optimization process should be considered. In this paper, a new analytical method for determining an optimum cutting pattern considering material properties is presented. Here, iterative procedure is introduced to decrease the errors caused in numerical process. The optimization method proposed can diminish the deviations occurred by material properties and numerical errors, simultaneously. As a results, it is shown that the final stress distributions for the HP shell model are sufficiently near to design stress distributions, and it can be concluded that this method can be used to obtain the optimized cutting pattern of membrane structures.

  • A fast pattern classification algorithm with Cellular Nonlinear Network-based dynamic programming is proposed. The Cellular Nonlinear Networks is an analog parallel processing architecture and the dynamic programing is an efficient computation algorithm for optimization problem. Combining merits of these two technologies, fast pattern classification with optimization is formed. On such CNN-based dynamic programming, if exemplars and test patterns are presented as the goals and the start positions, respectively, the optimal paths from test patterns to their closest exemplars are found. Such paths are utilized as aggregating keys for the classification. The algorithm is similar to the conventional neural network-based method in the use of the exemplar patterns but quite different in the use of the most likely path finding of the dynamic programming. The pattern classification is performed well regardless of degree of the nonlinearity in class borders.
