A chill unit has been used to estimate chilling requirement for dormancy release and risk of freezing damage. A system that calculates chill units was developed to obtain site-specific estimates of dormancy release date for grapes and evaluated in Baekgu myun near Kimje City, Chunbuk, Korea from September 2002 to March 2003. The system utilized daily minimum and maximum temperature maps generated from spatial interpolation with temperature correction for topography. Hourly temperature was temporally interpolated from the daily data using a sine-exponential equation (Patron and Logan, 1981). Hourly chill units were determined from sigmoid, reverse sigmoid, and negatively increasing sigmoid functions based on temperature ranges and summed for 24 h. Cumulative daily chill units obtained from measurements did not increase until 20 October 2002, which was used as a start date for accumulation to estimate the dormancy release date. As a result, a map of dormancy release date in the study area was generated, assuming 800 chill units as a threshold for the chilling requirement. The chill unit accumulation system, implemented using Microsoft Visual Basic and C++ (Microsoft, Redmond, WA, USA), runs in the Windows environment with ArcView (ESRl Inc., Redlands, CA, USA).

Lots of information such as prescription transmitted to the drug store by the result of separation of medical activity from medicine one, EDI for billing medical charge to Health Care Public Cooperation and the returned opinion letter sent to doctor etc is scattered in the Web document made from XML. Especially information containing medical treatment charge is one of the materials that are revised frequently. It is the current situation that document is transmitted or form is made for distribution whenever this kinds of revision is occurred. In this thesis, DTD design and implementation for the information system regarding the rate of medical charge is studied based on XML which is used to calculate charges for the several activities including consulting and prescribing. Patient or patron as well as doctor, pharmacist and nurse are all interested in the information regarding the rate of medical charge. It aims everybody to easily obtain information about the rate of medical charge by querying it anytime, anywhere.

In this Paper, we discuss an active TCP link of unsynchronized transmission mode network in two-way traffic and the Improvement of its traffic patron thorough the network pathway of protocol is shown. This is because the traffic pattern is performed on the basis of existing windows which are distributing information in several periods of time in the way of interfacing LTS control module, which is controlling by an information of exceeding the time limit of feedback loop determined by RTP, with TCP. The simulation to utilize this efficiently is performed with the circumstance of bench mark based on physical modeling of the self-similarity traffic in the performance of TCP. In this paper, we use a methodology to understand and evaluate the effect of change of transmitting protocol in sticks under the condition of the self-similar traffic in two-way network and it is shown that an improvement of congestion control by self-similarity under a heavy condition.

This research dwells on categorization and industrialization of cultural heritage resources using marketing. Since many organization would not grab the chance of business while doing marketing using cultural heritage, the paper intend to suggest proper way to develop strategy. For that purpose, this research analyzed some advanced cases of corporate like Google and other national endeavors. This paper founded out 4 models of marketing using cultural heritage resources. These are re-creation, patron, capitalization and media. Also we got practical implications of the case analysis and modeling which are collaboration partnership scheme between marketers and filed expert group. Marketers better find fitful information and right person utilizing more reliable sources such as national archives, and academic achievements. If the marketers implement such strategic program, really abundant types of cultural heritage resources using marketing could bring more favorable profit which means business chance and new horizon for global culture industry.

Since he was an exile, Henry James himself was well aware of agonies as an outsider in either Europe or America. Such an anguish is deftly depicted in the character of Felix Young with James's unique ironic tone. Unlike James, however, Felix is neither affluent nor distinguished as an artist. Nor is he supported by any patron. Furthermore, at first, he doesn't seem to survive the strict joyless environment in New England, but he possesses his own survival value. His unique esthetic value and his beautiful smile enable him to win Gertrude's heart. His adroit balance between pleasure-seeker and respect for American serious culture without hostility ultimately ends up with his marrying Gertrude. His arrival in Boston might pose a threat as Mr. Wentworth fears. Actually he subverts the traditional idea of an artist. He is armed with amiability and frankness, which are incongruous with a stereotypical idea of an artist: a willful, freakish, and self-righteous person. Felix here suggests to us that a new kind of modern art be possible. Gertrude is also a new woman who opposes to staying put under the patriarchal society. She is always wavering in and out of the house, searching for opportunities to quench her curiosity to see the world by breaking the bond of New England. Her ceaseless quest for independent values results in fortuitous encounter with a new species of artist Felix. Unlike Henry James's other novels, in which male characters assume a role of sophisticated "fortune-hunter," the union of Felix and Gertrude in The Europeans represents the compromise between two different cultures. According to Nietzsche, the birth of superman is possible by the union of Athens and Jerusalem. In other words, the matrimony of Felix and Gertrude means the commingling of his liberal arts and Gertrude's moral seriousness might contribute to the birth of the new culture.

Neoliberalism became a catch word of a post-cold war era. It began to develop in the middle of welfare state crisis in developed countries. It promoted both a unified world market through mutual penetration of national boundaries in International scene and maximization of efficiency through market competition in domestic scene. Privatization of public corporations is a major policy to pursue market efficiency through deregulation. Two reasons are often adduced to support the cause The socio-economic changes diminished the necessity to establish public corporation on the one hand. On the other hand gross inefficiency has been observed in the management of public corporation. 'Government failure' is an apt expression of the inefficiency. In analysing the experiences of privatization of utility industries of some other countries we found a couple of lessons for a Korean case. First, it is doubtful if privatization, that is a change in the form of ownership, is a necessary condition for achieving market efficiency. Because it is possible to operate a mechanism of market competition while maintaining competition among public corporations and with private actors. Second, the patron-agent dilemma is often cited as a major culprit of an inefficient management of public corporations. But it is without saying that the dilemma is also found in the management of private firms. So, the issue is not the privatization per se but to realize responsible management through discipline and incentives.

This paper consists of two parts: In the first part, we describe our work to build hierarchical knowledge base of digital library patron's research interests and learning topics in various scholarly areas through analyzing well classified Electronic Theses and Dissertations (ETDs) of NDLTD Union catalog. Journal articles from ACM Transactions and conference web sites of computing areas also are added in the analysis to specialize computing fields. This hierarchical knowledge base would be a useful tool for many social computing and information service applications, such as personalization, recommender system, text mining, technology opportunity mining, information visualization, and so on. In the second part, we compare four grouping algorithms to select best one for our data mining researches by testing each one with the hierarchical knowledge base we described in the first part. From these two studies, we intent to show traditional verification methods for social community miming researches, based on interviewing and answering questionnaires, which are expensive, slow, and privacy threatening, can be replaced with systematic, consistent, fast, and privacy protecting methods by using our suggested hierarchical knowledge base.

The function of the Duhak nongak(農樂) in Jecheon consist of Ceremony, Labor, and Entertainment. Before the commemorative rites for village god village people beat a small gong. In order to press hard the god of the earth they play musical instrument. Musical instrument not a simple musical instrument, but a purify and wish tool. When weeding a rice paddy Durae organized in Sangpung village. Durae are less effective than communal sharing of labor in weeding effect. Nonetheless, Nongak carried out core function in Durae. In order to participate Nonngak concours, peoples made a Pangut. From independence to 1970s people combine traditional nongak and Pangut. Since then village people played Pangut. From 1990s Pangut was played by Duhak Nonngak Preservation Association. Through the participation Nonngak concours, Duhak nongak was regrouped. Finally this nongak prepared Taeguk-jin, Snail-jin, Cross-jin, Sabang-jin, Sanggyeonrae Bans anggyeonrae-jin, Palbang-jin, Rope making and individual play. Duhak Nonngak promptly met the needs of the times. So, they could play Pangut. The feature of the Duhak Nonngak is that active cognition, highly skilled musician a patron and scouting a competent leader.

Objective: To understand the contents and effects of public diplomacy by leaders, this paper throws out two questions: "To draw cooperation and support of international society in the middle of national crises, with what content do leaders conduct public diplomacy?" and "Through what mechanism, does leaders' public diplomacy promote cooperation and support of other countries?" Methods: To answer the research questions, this paper conducts a single case study with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's public diplomacy in the Russia-Ukraine war in 2022. More specifically, the author collects text from Zelesky's Twitter and analyzes it in a descriptive manner. Results: When Russia invaded Ukraine in 2022, President Zelensky proactively utilized his SNS to communicate with people in other countries and thereby achieved the desired effect of public diplomacy. He has been delivering messages of 'appreciation of cooperation and support', 'situation of Ukraine', and 'congratulations or condolences', which could augment support, credibility, and audience cost. Conclusion: The effects of public diplomacy led to enhanced cooperation by alleviating problems within international cooperation and support. However, in the case of Ukraine, the patron's dilemma and commitment problem lasted, from which conducting public diplomacy has not been proven to be enough. The result of this paper provides lessons for the public diplomacy of the Republic of Korea in times of national crises in the future. In this regard, leaders should make efforts to promote the effectiveness of public diplomacy even in times of peace.

This study analyzes the sculptural art of SeokhaSichan(石霞施讚, 1893-1958), a significant figure in modern Korean Buddhist art, to re-examine his contributions and standing in the history of Korean Buddhist art. Sichan expanded the boundaries of modern Korean Buddhist art by developing a unique style based on the traditional sculptural techniques he learned from his mentor, Wanho Nakhyeon (玩虎洛現, 1869~1933). This study explores Sichan's artistic development, focusing on his artistic characteristics and sculptural evolution. Sichan's early works are characterized by small sculptures modeled after the main Buddha of Seokguram Grotto and heavily influenced by his mentor, WanhoNakhyeon. In his later works, notable features include a sense of massive volume, larger scale, upright postures, integration of the Buddha statue with its pedestal, and decorative treatment of drapery. These changes are interpreted as Sichan's response to social changes and his reflection of inner contemplation and artistic exploration in his works. This study reveals the influences of Wanho Nakhyeon, collaborations with Toewon Woneil(退雲圓日, 1877~1939), interactions with patron Kim Jiseonghwa(金至誠華), and master-disciple relationship with successor Geumchun Seongpil(金春性必) through literature review and newly discovered works by Sichan. His works and his artistic evolution are pivotal milestones in the history of modern Korean Buddhist sculpture, demonstrating a unique integration of traditional and modern aesthetics. This study provides valuable insights into how Sichan's artistic legacy was inherited and developed by subsequent generations and offers crucial materials for the study of modern Korean Buddhist sculpture history.
