A naso-orbito-ethmoid(NOE) fracture is very complex diagnostically and therapeutically. The diagnosis of this fractures is usually made by physical findings aided by a CT scan. The primary treatment of NOE fracture must be directed toward the reconstruction of medial canthal ligament and bony skeleton. We prefer to correct lacrimal system abnormalities secondarily A 32-year old male patient visited emergency room of our hospital with NOE fracture. After emergency treatment and consultation with neurosurgery and ophthalmology, we treated this patient by performing reconstruction of medial canthal ligament, bone graft of media orbital rim blowout fracture, and dorsal nasal cantilever bone graft with calvarial bone. The authors present a case report with literature review.

The use of fluoride and other preventive methods caused a dramatic decline in dental caries and the need for restorative dentistry. In our modern society that places a high value on appearance, emphasis is now shifting towards esthetic dentistry which has experienced a high popularity with the development of bonding techniques and materials including porcelain and composite. To satisfy patients wanting whiter teeth and a better looking smile, there are many treatment options ranging from full crown coverage to conservative procedures such as bleaching. Whether bleaching should be combined with other esthetic procedures or used alone depends on the type of discoloration and the patient's willingness to accept the various treatment options. Therefore, in order to obtain a successful esthetic outcome, careful diagnosis and treatment planning followed by consultation with the patient is of utmost importance.

Tardive dyskinesia(TD), typically appearing as an undesirable side effect of a long term antipsychotic drug treatment has gained increased attention in recent times due to the discovery of many TD variants. This is a single case study of a patient who has undergone more than 8 years of high dosage antipsychotic treatment. After altering the type and dosage of antipsychotic medication 3 months prior to visit, the patient showed relatively abrupt onset symptoms of severe tremor and dystonia. These symptoms, appearing in clear consciousess, got better to a certain degree after 48 hours, worsened for 12 hours, and then improved again. Subsequently there was no continuing movement disorder. Several tests and consultation were carried out. However except for the medication factor, no other possible causes for such disabling symptoms were found. This clinical condition was thought to be akin to tardive tremor, a variant of TD. Furthermore, the course was atypical.

Resricted opening of the mouth in children can be derived from a variety af extra and intra articular causes. A 5-year-old female patient with an elongated right coronoid process and with congenital missing teeth came to clinic for wearing of esthetic denture. A proper medical consultation and laboratory test had done for assessment a systemic syndrome related to her dental anomalies. The result was that her systemic findings dindn't accord specific signs and symptoms of Hallermann-Streiff syndrome. Unilateral coronoidectomy was fulfilled to improve mouth opening and subsequently endodontic and restorative procedure. Maxillary partial denture was delivered for esthetic problem. The periodic recall medical/dental check-up are recommended.

Trichotillomania is a neuropsychiatric disorder characterized by repetitive pulling out of one's hair. We present a trichotillomania case study illustrating the effectiveness of habit reversal training, which has recently been found, in western countries, to be a very effective cognitive behavioral treatment. The refractory patient in our study had previously received 1 year of drug treatment and psychiatric consultation for the disorder. We administered 10 habit reversal training sessions, which was followed by an obvious improvement in the patient's trichotillomania symptoms. Our observations indicate that habit reversal training might be effective in the treatment of trichotillomania.

Headache is one of the most common reasons for neurological consultation. Headache as many causes and symptoms. Therefore, screening method using questionaire is helpful in diagnosis of headache. This paper is to propose a medical diagnostic method to grasp patient's diseases using the relations between symptoms and diseases. For this purpose, we develop an interview chart assigned IF(intuitionistic fuzzy) grade with the relation among symptoms and three labels of headache. The method can be used to classify patient's tone of diseases with certain degrees of belief and its concerned symptoms.

The infraocclusion is defined as a condition, in which teeth are present with their occlusal surface below the neighboring teeth, and long after, they reach occlusion. The most common cause of infra-occlusion is thought to be ankylosis. The treatment options for patient with infraocclusion of primary molars are observation, restoration and surgical removal of the affected teeth. We report a case of 8 - year - old boy who visited our clinic for consultation of orthodontic treatment. The patient was diagnosed by multiple infraoccluded primary molars with permanent successors. Surgical extraction were performed on primary molars. After follow-up of 7 months period, #44, 45 were erupted and the degree of posterior open bite was decreased.

The numbers of older patients increase year by year as the effect of care in illness prolongs the average life span, and it will be quite common to find octogenarians and nonogenarians. The philosophy and technics used in the rehabilitation of older patients are essentially the same as those in general rehabilitation, modified to comply with the physiology of the aging patient. Rehabilitation of the elderly is essentially a matter of teamwork and an attitude of mind. Mo one of us can accomplish a cure by ourselves and there must be confidence and continuing consultation between all members of the team.

Purpose: This study aimed to analyze the counseling status of overseas Koreans using emergency medical counseling services, identify frequently occurring types of diseases, explore approaches to emergency treatment guidance, and protect overseas Koreans from medical blind spots, thereby enhancing the quality of emergency medical counseling services. Methods: This study was approved by the Institutional Review Board of Kongju National University (KNU_IRB_2023-31), and data were collected and analyzed from 10,951 cases of emergency medical counseling services utilized by overseas Koreans from the National Fire Agency from 2018 to 2022. Results: Emergency medical consultation services for overseas Koreans included a majority of non-trauma patients, with medical consultations being predominant. Terrestrial patients commonly seek advice for internal medical symptoms, whereas maritime patients frequently present with trauma-related symptoms, with a higher incidence of cardiac arrest and altered consciousness cases at sea. The development of self-diagnostic tests based on internal medicine symptoms is necessary for terrestrial patients, whereas stakeholder education is required for maritime patients. Conclusion: Due to the different types of diseases occurring in terrestrial and maritime patients, emergency medical consultation services for overseas Koreans should be implemented according to the specific characteristics of each patient. Therefore, it is necessary to develop and disseminate response manuals that are tailored to medical and trauma-related symptoms.

The author thought about how to explain visual functions in an easy-to-understand way to customers visiting the optical shops and provide easy customer consultation, and attempted to evaluate the usability and value of the educational webtoon for patient consultation by applying it to the optical shops's visitors. Survey study was conducted targeting 152 customers who visited optical shops A in Incheon from January to December 2023. In this study, consultation was conducted using educational webtoons to help the general public understand concepts that are difficult to understand, such as binocular vision function, the concept of heterophoria, prism lenses, and binocular balance. The areas of 'understanding', 'interest', 'usability', 'necessity', and 'expression of expertise' felt by the visitors who received counseling were scored and evaluated, and differences according to counseling method were evaluated using an independent sample t-test. Statistical verification was performed. When the optometrist only explained verbally, the score distribution was relatively low: 1.96 points for understanding, 2.06 points for interest, 2.96 points for usability, 4.20 points for necessity, and 3.19 points for expertise. When the optometrist provided explanations along with the book, understanding was 4.14 points, interest was 3.28 points, usability was 3.60 points, necessity was 4.17 points, and expertise was 3.55 points. When the optometrist explained with a webtoon, understanding was 4.57 points, interest was 4.96 points, usability was 4.18 points, necessity was 4.65 points, and expertise was 3.15 points. When explanations were given only verbally, all items showed the lowest scores, whereas consultations using webtoons showed 4 points or more (excellent) in all items except the 'expression of expertise' item. It is evaluated that actively using webtoons in various consultation situations that occur in optical shops will help increase customer interest and concentration.
