  • Digital twin is considered as a key technology of industry 4.0, thus being essential for the future of industrial production. Despite the significance, a systematic analysis of its technological landscape is lacking. This study aims to investigate the technological development trends and newly emerging technological convergence opportunities in the domain of digital twin by exploiting patent information derived from U SPTO. For this purpose, this study visualized and predicted the convergence dynamics among patent classification codes by adopting patent co-classification analysis and link prediction approach. The findings show that the number of digital twin-related patent applications has increased significantly since 2018. The CPC code G06F showed the highest eigenvector centrality, while G05B was characterized by highest betweenness centrality. According to the predictive model, 41 novel links were revealed, acting as potential technology convergence opportunities. These links were then categorized into 11 different domains. The most dominant category was "digital data processing and artificial intelligence", which could play a foundational role in the diffusion of digital twin technology. The presence of digital twin technology is dominant in manufacturing, but its applications are expected to expand, including "climate change", "healthcare" and "aerospace engineering". The derived insights can support R&D managers and policy makers in formulating R&D strategies and directing future R&D investment decisions.

  • Factual issues in most patent litigation are related to very complicated techniques. Thus, the courts has emphasised that the technology in dispute has to be read and understood through the eyes of a person to whom it is directed. Therefore, among the various processes in federal litigation, most litigation in the field of patent infringement relies on at least some expert evidence. This paper focuses on issues regarding patent dispute evidence, and explore whether there are unresolved issues in evidential rules and procedures of patent proceedings. Further, this paper seeks to demonstrate that both the parties and the courts in patent disputes generally benefit from the current evidence system. However, in a number of Australian cases, the scope of expert evidence in patent cases has been strictly limited. Australian Government identified uncertain issues associated with the present patent enforcement system, due to factors such as a low level of knowledge about what patent rights entail, the high degree of uncertainty of outcome in legal proceedings, etc. Arbitration shall be reviewed and suggested as an alternative to tackling the ongoing problems in the trial system.

  • In this paper, We tried to analyze the patent trend on constitution diagnosis and treatment related technologies. For this, constitution diagnosis and treatment related technologies divided into 16 sub-technology by the advisory committee. And we analyzed patents applied in Korea, Japan, U.S.A., China, and Europe. The 16 sub-technology consist of pulse analyzer, skin diagnosis, tongue analyzer, face and body detector, face analyzer, voice analyzer, intelligence ontology, meridian diagnosis, infrared thermography, electric stimulation, laser, high and low frequency, physical, magnetic, and ultrasound therapy. As a result we found that patents of constitution diagnosis and treatment in Korea has been growing steadily in both quality and quantity since 1980s. The number of patent the pulse analyzer and low frequency therapy are larger than others. But applied relevant international patents, marketability of the patent and Cites per Patent (CPP) index are shown to be very low. In conclusion, to occupy key original technologies of the Oriental medical device, we need to apply more patent of the whole related technology and international patents.

  • R&D(Research and Development) efficiency analysis is a very important issue in academia and industry. Although many studies have been conducted to analyze R&D(Research and Development) efficiency since the past, studies that analyzed R&D(Research and Development) efficiency considering both patentability and patent quality efficiency according to the financial performance of a company do not seem to have been actively conducted. In this study, measuring the patent application and patent quality efficiency according to financial performance, patent quality efficiency according to patent application were applied to corporate groups related to artificial intelligence hardware technology defined as GPU(Graphics Processing Unit), FPGA(Field Programmable Gate Array), ASIC(Application Specific Integrated Circuit) and Neuromorphic. We analyze the efficiency empirically and use Data Envelopment Analysis as a measure of efficiency. This study examines which companies group has high R&D(Research and Development) efficiency about artificial intelligence hardware technology.
