Transcribability of pit or land groove structures in replicating an optical disk substrate greatly affects the performance of a high-density optical disk. However, a solidified layer, generated during the polymer filling, deteriorates transcribability because the solidified layer prevents the polymer melt in filling the sub-micro patterns. Therefore, the development of the solidified layer during filling stage of injection molding must be delayed. For this delay, passive heating by insulation layer has been used. In the present study, to examine the development of the solidified layer delayed by passive heating, the flow of polymer melt with passive heating was analyzed. Passive heating markedly delayed the development of the solidified layer, reduced the viscosity of the polymer melt, and increased the fluidity of the polymer melt in the vicinity of the stamper surface with the sub-micro patterns. As a result, we predict that passive heating can improve transcribability of an optical disk substrate. To verify our prediction, we fabricated an optical disk substrate by using passive heating of a mold and measured the transcribability.

This study analyzed the performance of passive solar system for office building. A unit model of the passive solar system was proposed in order to predict its performance under varying parameters and Seoul weather date. Steady state heat transfer equations were set up using a energy balanced equations and solved using a inverse matrix method. Numerical simulation program to analyze system was developed by using MATLAB. As the results, the passive solar system performance of office building was determined by the insolation and the outdoor air temperature. Also the passive solar system indicate 6.7~16.2% of annual average efficiency. In the comparison with other systems of the conventional wall, mass wall could reduce the heating loads of 7.1% and trombe wall could reduce heating loads of 11.5%. Through this study, performance of passive solar system for office building was verified by numerical method. Consequently, the passive solar system could operate an important role as the alternative for saving energy consumption of office building, and the additional studies should be made through the experimental method for the commercialization.
The purpose of this study is to analyze the planning characteristics of passive house by the building structural types in foreign cases. The interests and demands about passive house have been increased, and various building structural types and design methods have been attempted for passive house in Korea. But domestic research results and development experiences about passive house were lack. The results of this study are as follows; First, in terms of energy performance, insulation performance, airtightness, there are not significant differences at the 95% confidence level by the structural types of passive house. Second, in terms of the types of insulation materials, there are significant differences at the 95% confidence level by the structural types of passive house. Third, in principle there is no need of traditional heating facility in passive houses, but in practice traditional heating facilities are used additionally in about half of survey cases for the comfort of occupants.
Recently, the field of construction is putting a variety of effort into reducing CO2, since global warming is being accelerated due to climate changes and the increase of greenhouse gas. For reduction of CO2 in the field of construction, it is required to make plans to cut down heating energy of buildings and especially, it is urgently needed to cut down energy of residential buildings in rural area where occupies the majority of consumption of petroleum-based energy sources. Therefore, this research compared and analyzed the actual energy consumption, by evaluating energy performance of a detached house applying passive house design components for reduction of energy. As the result, energy consumption showed remarkable differences, according to the operation of a heat recovery ventilation unit which is one of passive house design components, and building energy consumption displayed remarkable differences, too, depending on the difference of airtightness performance during building energy simulation conducted in process of design. Based on these results, the importance of airtightness performance of passive house was verified. The result of the actual measurement of energy consumption demonstrated that LNG was most economical amongst several heat resources yielded, on the basis of LPG source energy consumption measured within a certain period of time, and it was followed by kerosene. LPG was analyzed to have a low economic efficiency, when used for heating.
The world population is consuming more than 1/3 of the total energy for heating housings. Particularly in our country, 21% of the consumption energy is occupied by building section. Therefore, it is necessary to increase the energy efficiency in buildings, thus promoting a comfortable residential environment while minimizing energy consumption. Accordingly, this study presents considerations for implementing high-insulated and airtight passive houses. This study selected four houses with passive house design applied, performed building energy performance through PHPP2007, a German passive house design simulation program, and compared the building-specific heat loss and heat gain. As a result, the most vulnerable part to heat loss was turned out to be a window and the heat loss was caused by outer wall, roof, and ventilation. Accordingly, for the implementation of passive house, it is necessary to make a careful plan and airtight construction that are complementary to various parts through the energy performance analysis started from the design phase.
Purpose: In Korea, to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, energy performance standard of buildings is being reinforced with goals of Passive House until 2017 and Zero Energy House until 2025 in order to reduce emissions from buildings which constitute a quarter of greenhouse gas emissions. In order to achieve the target of Zero Energy House, it is certainly necessary to develop renewable energy that can replace cooling and heating energy occupying a significant amount of building energy consumption after increasing the energy performance firstly. Method: In this study, effects of heat in greenhouse heated by solar heating on indoor heating were analyzed by constructing a greenhouse in front of the Low Energy Building. Result: As a result, indoor temperature was increased by peak average $27.8^{\circ}C$, peak average $6.8^{\circ}C$ was increased from when heat in greenhouse has not been used for heating and indoor surface temperature was increased by average $5.1^{\circ}C$. It shows it can be possible to use heat in greenhouse for heating, if the heating effects can be same as this experimental result because Energy Saving-Type buildings such as Low Energy House or Passive House keep from 18 to $20^{\circ}C$ in winter. Therefore, even if energy supply is cut off by disasters and other reasons, cooling and heating can be possible for some time.

The economics of a passive solar heating system (PSHS) with the pebble bed heat storage was evaluated, and the applications of the PSHS were analyzed, in this study. The results are as follows: The heating load, solar heat gain, and stored heat/year of the PSHS in the solar house model were found to be 10,778MJ, 3,438MJ, and 11,682MJ, respectively. The yearly energy expenses of the PSHS and the alternative heating system (conventional coal heating system, CCHS), which uses coal, were found to be USD 1.60/year and USD 60.90/year, respectively, and the yearly expenses of the PSHS were found to be 38 times less than those of the alternative heating system (CCHS). If it will be supposed that the life cycle of the passive solar heating system, according to the results of the LCC analysis in the two systems, is 40 years, the total expenses for the life cycle of the PSHS and the CCHS will be USD 1,431.50 and USD 2,740.00, respectively. The period for the investment payback of the PSHS is six years.

Perpendicular patterned magnetic media have been regarded as a prime candidate to achieve an ultra-high magnetic recording density of over 1 Tera-bits/$inch^2$. Patterned magnetic media with nanoscale patterns have been fabricated using various nanopatterning technologies. We focused on the two technical issues of nanoinjection molding technology. Firstly, we have investigated a cost-effective method to fabricate metallic stamps. Secondly, we focused on the analysis of nanoinjection molding with passive heating, where the replication of 50 nm nanopillar arrays was successful. The effect of the thermal insulation layer on the replication quality was examined by analytical and experimental methods. Finally, we deposited a magnetic layer on a injection molded nanopillars and measured. Our methodology can provide cost-effective mass-production for patterned magnetic media.
This study is on the design and evaluation of Zero Energy Solar House(ZeSH) including active solar heating system. Various innovative technologies such as super insulation, passive solar systems, super window, ventilation heat recovery system...etc were analyzed by individual and combination for the success of ZeSH. The ESP-r simulation program was used for this. Simulation results shows that almost 77% of heating load can be reduced with the following configuration of 200mm super insulation, super windows, passive solar system and 0.3 ventilation rate per hour. Active solar heating system (ASHS) was designed for the rest of the heating load including hot water heating load. The solar assisted heat pump is used for the auxiliary heating device in order to use air conditioner but not included in this study. The yearly solar fraction is 87% with a solar collector area of $28m^2$. The parametric studies as the influence of storage volume and collector area on the solar fraction was analyzed.
