  • Recently a rolling stock has been requiring more convenience facilities for passenger as well as satisfied the basic functions. The convenience facilities design take into consideration safety factor, convenience and easy accessible for disable passenger. In a point of view, convenience facilities should be considered and designed as well as related safety. This paper describes points to be considered on design with related to convenience facilities and safety factor of Diesel Multiple Unit for Intercity through the IRISH DMU.

승객 안전과 편의 서비스 개선을 위한 IoT 버스 시스템 (IoT Bus System for Passenger Safety and Convenience Service Improvement)

  • As the use of public transportation is increasing, a service considering the convenience of passengers is being launched utilizing the Internet (IoT) data collected through the bus information system. However, the bus information system only provides limited information such as the current location of the bus (GPS) and the expected arrival time at the stop. Additional IoT sensor information is needed to provide various services for the safety and convenience of passengers. In this paper, to improve the safety and convenience of passengers, we have added the boarding doors imaging sensor, temperature and humidity sensors, and sensor for measuring the number of passengers. The proposed IoT bus system can attach various sensors to buses to provide high-quality safety services to passengers.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to suggest directions for improving Authentication Of A Barrier-Free Living Environment(BF) of passenger facilities. Methods: We examined the parts (terms, Authentications, and dimensions) where the difference in the legal standards between the relevant items in the "ACT ON GUARANTEE OF PROMOTION OF CONVENIENCE OF PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES, THE AGED, PREGNANT WOMEN, ETC." and the "ACT ON PROMOTION OF THE TRANSPORTATION CONVENIENCE OF MOBILITY DISADVANTAGED PERSONS", which are the basis of Authentication of BF for buildings and passenger facilities. We also mention the differences by comparing and analyzing Authentications of BF. In addition, we survey the current status of passenger facilities in Korea that have been granted and not granted Authentication of BF of passenger facilities. and we describe improvement directions of Authentications of BF. Implications: Improvement of Authentications of BF should be made in accordance with relevant laws, and improvement of Authentications of BF to reflect various situations in the field is needed. Authentications of BF according to the type of passenger facilities should be distinguished.

공항터미널 주기장 배정의 최적화에 대한 연구 (Optimizing Gate Assignment at Domestic Airport)

  • Utilization rate for the restrictive gate and required time and walking distance to board are to be a measure for the gate management and passenger's convenience estimation. So, the main purpose of the gate management are maximization of utilization rate and increment of airport terminal user's convenience through the efficient gate management. This study intends to maximize the utilization rate on usable gates and minimize the passenger's working distance in terminal by concerning about layout, terminal configuration, local passenger of the airport and formulate the gate assignment problem with integer linear programming problem. Then we obtained solution using optimization software LINGO and analyzed that maximize the number of assignment flights and minimize the passenger's walking distance.

  • Ubiquotuous technology should be adopted in railroad business to provide passenger's security and convenience. In this project, IT and smart sensor technologies are reviewed, benchmarked, designed, and implemented. The target system is the next generation high speed train to be developed and operated in Korea with the maximum speed of 400km/h. Wireless sensor network with smart sensors is implemented around a train car. PC-like IT terminal will be designed and implemented so an individual passenger can use it to do information retrieval through the Internet, personal data processing, the e-learning, shopping on the railroad, and so on. These provision will give comfort, convenience, and safety of a passenger during his/her trip.

  • At a passenger terminal which is a core facility of a large-scale airport, users are not easy to recognize its space and to approach each facility by composition of large-scale space not recognized at a glance and arrangement of complicated functional space. Such a passenger terminal should be designed by putting a focus on functionality, safety and convenience since diverse passengers use it. At a passenger terminal, a lot of passengers' circulation followed by diverse purpose appear. Therefore, it needs a lot of functional space and space to satisfy passengers' demands. When circulation is planed, it should be designed by a systematic standard. The study was carried out on the basis of international airports, considering features and functions of airport circulation system. In kind of circulation in passenger terminal of an airport, there are user's circulation (passenger's circulation, employee's circulation and service circulation) and baggage circulation. The study examined passenger's circulation which was a major circulation of passenger terminal out of user's circulation. The study examined elements which had an effect on circulation system at a large-scale airport passenger terminal and basic data for an efficient circulation system standard of passenger terminal through case analysis of passenger terminal circulation systems at international airports.

  • As social and cultural value has been changed, customers are demanding equipment innovation of passenger quarters to improve the satisfaction of their needs and the level of transfortation culture. To promote the convenience of passenger and abstract the facilities factor of passenger quarters design, this article analyzed and compared with the facilities factor of passenger quarters which have been operated in domestic and foreign country. While domestic passenger quarters is composed of seat, toilet and washroom, foreign passengers quarters consist of various factor such as familly room, infant room, business room, conversation room, and multipurpose room. Especially, foreign passenger quarters have provided passenger with diversity of attachment space, securing movement line for weak person, and arranging infant/child's space.

  • 선진사회의 지표는 모든 사회 구성원들의 보편적 삶의 질의 수준과 그 만족도라 할 수 있다. 이러한 보편적 삶의 질은 사회적 약자들의 측면에서는 도시공간으로의 접근성과 밀접한 관련이 있다. 시각장애인과 같은 교통약자들은 도시공간에서의 관심 시설물에의 접근과 이동권의 확보가 매우 중요한 관심사이다. 특히 여객시설과 같은 시설물간의 매개역할을 수행하는 환승시설과 그 내부의 장애인 편의시설은 매우 중요한 의미를 지니고 있다. 장애인 편의시설은 각 시설물에 접근할 수 있는 유일한 방법으로 시각장애인에게 제공되므로, 이에 대한 공간적 분포를 분석하여 제공하는 것은 매우 중요한 의미를 지닌다. 그러나 기존의 관련연구들은 이용자의 의식조사나 관련 통계 분석에 머물러 있는 상황이다. 그러므로 이 연구에서는 공간(Spatial) 데이터를 기반으로 공간분석이 가능한 GIS를 이용하여 시각장애인의 여객시설의 내부편의시설 이용증진과 이동권 확보를 위한 무장애 공간을 분석하고자 하였다. 연구결과 일부 장애공간이 존재하여 신속한 보완이 필요하였으며, 다양한 내부편의시설의 이용증진을 위해서는 점자블록과 같은 장애인 편의시설의 확충이 필요함을 알 수 있었다.

  • General bus stop is very simple and have some problem to protect the passengers and don't have any proper information messenger for the convenience of bus riding in spite of present initiative bus information system. However, this paper have introduced new conceptual modular-smart station avaliable to both public bus and bimodal tram. It can secure the passenger's safety from other danger attributes like running car or unexpected natural disaster and supply the passengers the variable information from display which is connected to the control center. Therefore, modular-smart station is both shelter and information messenger for passenger's safey and convenience.
