상용자동차 정비업체의 입지선정에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Location of Bus & Truck Automobile Maintenance Company)

  • Automobiles are largely divided into passenger cars with less than five passengers and commercial vehicles such as construction machines, trucks, mixers, special lorries, and large buses. Automobile maintenance companies are also divided into passenger cars and commercial vehicles. Because commercial vehicles are the livelihood vehicles of individual carriers engaged in cargo transportation, passenger transportation, and construction, fast and accurate maintenance is important. Access to the expressway is also important because the car is large and uses highways. In addition, the time required for troubleshooting is long, so sufficient space must be secured for parking the vehicle, and ease of entry and exit of the vehicle in the maintenance shop should be fully considered. For this reason, commercial vehicle maintenance companies have higher initial investment costs than car maintenance companies, and it is difficult to supply and maintain maintenance personnel. Therefore, it is necessary to carefully examine and analyze various related factors for successful commercial vehicle maintenance company selection. However, most existing commercial vehicle maintenance companies often choose their location based on the empirical judgment of the founder, the customs and the case, without a clear analysis. In this study, we show how to derive the location selection factors to be considered when establishing professional maintenance company for commercial vehicles and to select the optimal location by using AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) method.

조수석 에어백 성능 개선을 위한 형상 설계연구 (A Study on Shape Design of the Passenger Airbag for Efficiency Improvement)

  • In this study, the relationship between the shape of a passenger airbag and the possibility of injury is analyzed using the Taguchi method. The optimal shape combination is proposed for a design guideline that can reduce the possibility of injury to the dummy. The airbag FE model for analysis is obtained using a CAD system that can change the shape through several independent variables. The widths of the left / right, top / bottom, and back / forth direction of the airbag shape are set as the design factors, and the effect of the combination injury probability according to the shape is analyzed. The minimum geometric combinations are obtained using the orthogonal array method. The signal to noise ratio is calculated and the optimal shape combination is obtained through sensitivity analysis. The obtained optimal shape combination is compared with the possibility of injury of the initial airbag shape to confirm improved airbag performance.

Will You Buy It Now?: Predicting Passengers that Purchase Premium Promotions Using the PAX Model

  • Upselling is often a critical factor in revenue generation for businesses in the tourism and travel industry. Utilizing passenger data from a major international airline company, we develop the PAX (Passenger, Airline, eXternal) model to predict passengers that are most likely to accept an upgrade offer from economy to premium. Formulating the problem as an extremely unbalanced, cost-sensitive, supervised binary classification, we predict if a customer will take an upgrade offer. We use a feature vector created from the historical data of 3 million passenger records from 2017 to 2019, in which passengers received approximately 635,000 upgrade offers worth more than $422,000,000 U.S. dollars. The model has an F1-score of 0.75, outperforming the airline's current rule-based approach. Findings have several practical applications, including identifying promising customers for upselling and minimizing the number of indiscriminate emails sent to customers. Accurately identifying the few customers who will react positively to upgrade offers is of paramount importance given the airline 'industry's razor-thin margins. Research results have significant real-world impacts because there is the potential to improve targeted upselling to customers in the airline and related industries.

연안여객선사 안전관리 운영 효율성 분석 : 안전경영지표 평가항목 개발을 중심으로 (Analysis of Safety Management Efficiency by Coastal Passenger Ship Companies : Development of Safety Management Evaluation Standards)

  • 본 연구는 연안여객선사의 안전관리 운영 효율성을 분석하기 위한 기초연구로 적절한 안전경영지표 평가항목을 설계하고 연안여객선사를 대상으로 평가항목의 유효성을 검증하는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 먼저 연안여객운송사업자의 안전관리책임자, 공무원(선박검사관), 여객선 운항관리자 등으로 구성된 전문가 그룹을 통해 연안여객선사의 자발적 안전관리 활동을 평가하기 위한 5개의 평가항목과 14개의 세부 평가요인을 선정하고 사전검증 및 테스트를 통해 객관성을 제고하였다. 이 안전경영지표 평가항목을 이용하여 44개 연안여객선사에 대한 자발적 안전관리 수준을 평가하였다. 그리고 평가항목의 유효성을 검증하기 위하여 안전경영지표 평가항목 결과와 중대해양사고 비율을 비교분석하여 평가항목의 타당성을 확인하였다. 이를 통해 자발적 안전경영 수준이 높은 업체일수록 중대해양사고가 발생하지 않고 자발적 안전관리에 무관심하거나 소홀한 업체는 상대적으로 높은 중대해양사고가 발생하고 있는 것을 알 수 있었다. 이처럼 안전경영지표 평가항목 선정을 통해 연안여객선사의 안전관리 운영 효율성을 분석하는데 중요한 항목을 객관적인 관점에서 도출하였다. 따라서 향후 안전관리 효율성 분석을 위한 기초자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

DoE를 이용한 인젝터 유량 편차에 의한 배출가스 편차에 대한 강건 엔진 매핑 가능성의 검토 (Feasibility Study on Robust Calibration by DoE to Minimize the Exhaust Emission Deviations from Injector Flow Rate Scatters)

  • The hardware scatters as well as the engine parameters calibration have strong influences on exhaust emissions in recent diesel engines. In this research DoE(Design of Experiments) optimizations were done to study the possibility of minimizing the emission deviations caused by flow rate scatters of the injectors. It has been shown that the optimization of engine calibration, which minimizes the emission deviations, is feasible by establishing a target function representing the emission deviations for test results of maximum, mean and minimum flow rate injectors. It has also been shown that optimization of both emission deviations and emission level is possible by sequential DoE optimizations of the target functions representing the emission level and the emission deviations respectively with the appropriate boundary limits.

  • 본 연구에서는 낙도보조항로 운영사업자에 대한 경영평가제를 도입하여 사업자 스스로 지속적인 경영개선 노력을 유도하고자 AHP 기법을 이용하여 경영평가지표를 개발하였다. 이들 지표는 크게 3가지 형태로 구성되어 있다. 대기준에는 책임경영부문, 경영관리부문, 사업운영부문, 고객만족부문 등 4부문으로 구성되어 있으며, 중기준에는 책임경영을 위한 노력 등 15개 항목, 소 기준에는 관리자의 경영철학 및 전 직원의 책임경영에 참여도 등 44개 항목으로 이루어져 있다. 이들 지표 배점은 AHP 기법을 이용하여 각 항목별 가중치를 산정하여 배점한 결과이므로, 실제 업무를 집행하면서 운영선사 및 선박특성을 감안한 항목 간 가중치 조정에 의해 평가지표 기준별 배점 조정이 필요하리라 본다.

승용차량용 연료탱크 슬로싱 현상에 대한 실험적 고찰 및 평가 방법에 대한 연구 (Experimental Study and Evaluation Method for Sloshing Noise of Fuel Tank on Passenger Vehicle)

  • The signal patterns of slosh noise produced by the fuel tank of a passenger vehicle are characterized by analyzing vehicle interior noise, fuel tank vibration, and near-field noise radiated from the fuel tank. This paper also shows the noise transfer path analysis results performed from the fuel tank to the vehicle inside. On top of them, physical index is described, demonstrating a good correlation with subjective feeling of slosh noise. It is essential to identify the main noise transfer paths for redesigning of the fuel tank system aiming at reducing slosh noise and also helpful to apply physical index in evaluating and reducing this noise. It is found that structure-borne path is the main root of slosh noise and a value reveals a good correlation with subjective feeling.

  • In Korea there are Passenger ships on 106 routes running out of 10 port cities. These cities, such as Mokpo, Masan, Incheon, are the main transportation hubs the island residents today. But most passenger ship companies in Korea are limited in income and mostly small in size. These small companies have many challenges to overcome and are slow to improve services. Frequent service cancellations, aging sailors and a decline in service are contributing factors.
