A Study on the Spray Characteristics of Small LRE Injector through PIV and PDA Measurements (PIV 및 PDA 계측에 의한 소형 액체로켓엔진 인젝터의 분무특성 연구)

  • Spray characteristics of an injector employed in mono-propellant hydrazine thrusters were investigated by PIV(particle image velocimetry) and PDA(phase Doppler anemometry) techniques. The instantaneous plane images captured by PIV measurement were examined in order to judge the pass-fail criteria of spray injection performance according to the specific pressure supplied. PDA technique was also applied to measure the velocity and droplet size of spray which were not obtainable by PIV measurement. The objective of this experimental study is the evaluation of the injector performance which may be utilized for the design of brand-new injector through the clear understanding of spray characteristics.

  • An electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection device, so called, N-type SCR with P-type MOSFET pass structure (NSCR_PPS), was analyzed for high voltage I/O applications. A conventional NSCR_PPS device shows typical SCR-like characteristics with extremely low snapback holding voltage, which may cause latch-up problem during normal operation. However, a modified NSCR_PPS device with counter pocket source(CPS) and partial p-type well(PPW) structure demonstrates highly latch-up immune current-voltage characteristics.

  • Through a investigation of the physical activity status of 1794 undergraduates who were non-sports majors from freshman to senior in Jiangxi Normal University, to analyze physical fitness status of college students with different physical activity levels. The results showed that in physical activity, high-intensity physical activity of male was higher than female, while medium-intensity and low-intensity (insufficient) physical activity of female was higher than male. College students' high-intensity physical activity group's physical test scores were better than the medium-intensity physical activity group, and the medium-intensity physical activity group was superior to the low physical activity group. In terms of physical fitness, among the test indicators of body shape and physiological function, the vital capacity and body mass index of male and female were ranked at a pass level. In the physical fitness test indicators, the performance of college students' endurance qualities was better while the overall performance of strength qualities was lower. The overall fitness of college students was ranked at a pass level, and the physical test scores of female were better than male.

A Study on the Role of ST12 in the Hand and Foot Three Yang Meridians' Pathway - Focus on Yang Meridians Except Bladder Meridian (수족삼양경의 유주에서 결분(ST12)의 역할에 관한 연구 - 족태양방광경을 제외한 양경을 중심으로)

  • Objectives : In the meridian pathway system, 5 yang meridians excluding bladder meridian pass ST12. In this study, we tried to find out why 5 yang meridians pass ST12. Methods : 15 classics of acupuncture and moxibustion literature - 『Huangdimingtangjingjixiao』, 『Zhenjiujiayijing』, 『Huangdineijingtaisu』, 『Beijiqianjinyaofang』, 『Waitaimiyaofang』, 『Ishimpo』, 『Taipingshenghuifang』, 『Tongrenshuxue-zhenjiutujing』, 『Zhenjiuzishengjing』, 『Shisijingfahui』, 『Zhenjiujuying』, 『Yixuerumen』, 『Zhenjiudacheng』, 『Leijing』, and 『Leijingtuyi』- were reviewed and compared. Results : Five yang meridians passed ST12, and large intestine meridian and triple energizer meridian were closely related to ST12 in divergent channels. Stomach meridian and gall bladder meridian were related to ST12 in meridian muscles. ST12 was related to small intestine meridian in main cure effect. ST12 is in the best position to enter the body cavity. Conclusions : It can be seen that ST12 is closely related to all internal organs through the characteristics of stomach meridian. Therefore, it is thought that ST12's various characteristics largely explains a pathway to enter the body cavity in the hand and foot three yang meridians.

Development of a Washout Algorithm for a Vehicle Driving Simulator Using New Tilt Coordination and Return Mode (새로운 경사 변환과 복귀 성분을 고려한 차량 운전 시뮬레이터 워시아웃 알고리즘 개발)

  • Unlike actual vehicles, a vehicle driving simulator is limited in kinematic workspace and bounded on dynamic characteristics. So it is difficult to simulate dynamic motions of a multi-body vehicle model. In order to overcome these problems, a washout algorithm which controls the workspace of the simulator within the kinematic limitation is needed. However, a classical washout algorithm contains several problems such as generation of wrong sensation of motions by filters in tilt coordination, requirement of trial and error method in selecting the proper cut-off frequencies, difficulty in returning the simulator to its origin using only high pass filters and etc. This paper proposes a new tilt coordination method as an algorithm which gives more accurate sensations to drivers. In order to reduce time for returning the simulator to its origin, a new washout algorithm that the proposed algorithm selectively onset mode from high pass filters and return mode from error functions is proposed. As a result of this study, the results of the proposed algorithm are compared with the results of classical washout algorithm through the human perception models. Also, the performance of the suggested algorithm is evaluated by using human perception and sensibility of some drivers through experiments.

  • A turnout which permits trains to pass from one track to another has a disconnecting rail component, namely a crossing, so that noise and vibration arc occurred abruptly when train is passing through it. In Korea, it is planned to adopt the high speed tilting train, which operates at the speed of 180 km/h, at the conventional line. However, for application of the tilting train, it is prerequisite to establish the stable turnout system allowing the tilting train to pass through it without reducing speed. This study was performed to evaluate noise and vibration emitted from the prototype turnout which is developed for speed-up of the conventional line. For the purpose, noise and vibration were measured at near the conventional turnout and the improved one, which is constructed at Waegwan station and Kumi station of Gyeongbu line, respectively.

  • A vehicle driving simulator is a virtual reality device which makes a man feel as if he drove an actual vehicle. Unlike actual vehicles, the simulator has limited kinematical workspace and bounded dynamic characteristics. So it is difficult to simulate dynamic motions of a multi-body vehicle model.   • Recent keywords of the heavy industries are large-scale structure and productivity. Especially, the sizes of the commercial vessels and the offshore structures have been gradually increased to deliver goods and explore or produce oil and natural gas in the Arctic. High heat input welding processes such as electro gas welding (EGW) have been widely used for welding thick steel plates with flux-cored arc welding (FCAW), especially in the shipbuilding industries. Because high heat input welding may cause the detrimental effects on the fracture toughness of the welded joint and the heat affected zone, it is essential to obtain the sufficient toughness of welded joint. There are well known that the fracture toughness like CTOD, CVN, and KIC were very important factors in order to secure the safety of the structures. Furthermore, the welding residual stress should be considered to estimate the unstable fracture in both EGW and FCAW. However, there are no references on the welding residual stress distribution of EGW and FCAW with thick steel plates. Therefore the welding residual stresses were very important elements to evaluate the safety of the welded structure. Based on the measurement results, the characteristics of residual stress distribution through thickness were compared between one-pass electron gas welding and multi-pass flux-cored arc welding. The longitudinal residual stress in the multi-pass flux-cored arc welding is tensile through all thicknesses in the welding fusion zone. Meanwhile, longitudinal residual stress of EGW is tensile on both surfaces and compressive at the inside of the plate. The magnitude of residual stresses by electron gas welding is lower than that by flux-cored arc welding.

Correction of Accelerogram in Frequency Domain (주파수영역에서의 가속도 기록 보정)

  • In general, the accelerogram of earthquake ground motion or the accelerogram obtained from dynamic tests contain various errors. In these errors of the accelerograms, there are instrumental errors(magnitude and phase distortion) due to the response characteristics of accelerometer and the digitizing error concentrated in low and high frequency components and random errors. Then, these errors may be detrimental to the results of data processing and dynamic analysis. An efficient method which can correct the errors of the accelerogram is proposed in this study. The correction of errors can be accomplished through four steps as followes ; 1) using an interpolation method a data form appropriate to the error correction is prepared, 2) low and high frequency errors of the accelerogram are removed by band-pass filter between prescribed frequency limits, 3) instrumental errors are corrected using dynamic equilibrium equation of the accelerometer, 4) velocity and displacement are obtained by integrating corrected accelerogram. Presently, infinite impulse response(IIR) filter and finite impulse response (FIR) filter are generally used as band-pass filter. In the proposed error correction procedure, the deficiencies of FIR filter and IIR filter are reduced and, using the properties of the differentiation and the integration of Fourier transform, the accuracy of instrument correction and integration is improved.

  • In this paper, to make sure that the photovoltaic solar cell module of the system can be normal for output in each solar cell module, input and output unit is installed in the bypass device, and then through the voltage and current monitoring to determine abnormality of the solar cell module, in the case of abnormal occurring, the bypass device can be pass to the next solar module of the serial structure.
