Dielectrophoresis (DEP) is defined as the motion of suspended particles in solvent resulting from polarization forces induced by an inhomogeneous electric field. DEP has been utilized for various biological applications such as trapping, sorting, separation of cells, viruses, nanoparticles. However, the analysis of DEP trapping has mostly employed the period-averaged ponderomotive forces while the dynamic features of DEP trapping have not been attracted because the target object is relatively large. Such approach is not appropriate for the nanoscale analysis in which the size of object is considerably small. In this study, we thoroughly investigate the dynamic response of trapping to various system parameters and its influence on the trapping stability. The effects of particle conductivity on its motion are also focused.
Non-Negative Matrix Factorization (NMF) is a method for updating dictionary and gain in alternating manner. Due to ease of implementation and intuitive interpretation, NMF is widely used to detect and separate overlapping sound events. However, NMF that utilizes non-negativity constraints generates parts-based representation and this distinct property leads to a dictionary containing fragmented acoustic events. As a result, the presence of shared basis results in performance degradation in both separation and detection tasks of overlapping sound events. In this paper, we propose a new method that utilizes K-Singular Value Decomposition (K-SVD) based dictionary to address and mitigate the part-based representation issue during the dictionary learning step. Subsequently, we calculate the gain using NMF in sound event detection step. We evaluate and confirm that overlapping sound event detection performance of the proposed method is better than the conventional method that utilizes NMF based dictionary.

Various aspects should be taken into account while developing a distributed architecture based on a multi-tier model or an enterprise architecture. Among those, the separation of role between page designer and page developer, defining entity which is used for database connection and transaction processing are very much important. In this paper, we presented DONSL(Data Server of Non SQL query) architecture to solve these problems applying web tier object modelling. This architecture solves the above problems by simplifying tiers coupling and removing DAO(Data Access Object) and entity from programming logic. We concentrate upon these three parts. One is about how to develop the DAO not concerning the entity modification, another is automatic transaction processing technique including SQL generation and the other is how to use the AET/MET(Automated/Manual Execute d Transaction) effectively.

The horn and movable parts around the gap of the conventional semi-spade rudder are visualized by high speed CCD camera with the frame rate of 4000 fps (frame per second) to study the unsteady cavity pattern on the rudder surface and gap. In addition, the pressure measurements are conducted on the rudder surface and inside the gap to find out the characteristics of the flow behavior. The rudder without propeller wake is tested at the range of $1.0{\leq}{\sigma}_v\;1.6$ and at the rudder deflection angle of $-8{\leq}{\theta}{\leq}10^{\circ}$. The time resolved cavity images are captured and show strong cavitation around the rudder gap in all deflection angles. As the deflection angle gets larger, the flow separated from the horn surface increases the strength of cavitation. The accelerated flow along the horn decreases its pressure and the separated flow from the horn increases the pressure abruptly. The pressure distribution inside the gap reveals the flow moving from the pressure to suction side. In the negative deflection angle, the turning area on the movable part initiates the flow separation and cavitation on it.
A LEO Satellite performs automatic initial operations by FSW after separation from a launch vehicle. After initial operation by FSW is finished, preparation for normal operation is performed by ground during bus initial activation and checkout phase. First of all, we check state of health of the satellite including solar array deployment status. After then, each unit of spacecraft bus is activated and checked. After activation and checkout of every units used for normal operation, we check maneuver performance for imaging mission and orbit maintenance performance. Because the Bus IAC is performed during limited ground contact time, every detailed procedure must be designed considering ground contact. Therefore, the Bus IAC procedure is separated into several parts based on ground contact duration. In addition, the procedures for every possible operation including expected situation as results of IAC procedures and unexpected contingency situation must be prepared. The contingency operation is also designed based on ground contact duration. The LEO satellite was successfully launched and the Bus IAC was successfully performed. In this paper, we explain design concepts and execution results of Bus IAC.
The location information of the people or mover is essential for supporting various smart mobility services in railway stations which are mostly underground. For this purpose, a smart braille block is proposed to identify the location of the mover of the people. In this paper, the frequency characteristics of each material of the upper and lower parts of the braille block are analyzed to examine the appropriate materials for railway history. In addition, the guidelines for actual manufacturing were derived by analyzing the separation distance between two RF sensors in the smart braille block. As a result of analysis through the characteristic analysis in this paper, after selecting the material suitable for the construction site when the smart braille block is applied, the performance change of the RF system, especially the antenna that greatly influences the RF performance, must be reviewed in advance. It seems to have to be applied after checking through.
This study was carried out to get basic information that can be used in quality control for processing ginseng products and also in separation of pure ginsenosides for experimental purpose. The composition of various parts of 6 year-old ginseng was 4.1% of rhizome (node), 47.7% of main root, 34.1% of lateral root and 14.1% of fine Toot on dried weight basis. The weight ratios of epidermis-cortex and xylem were about 1 : 1 in main root and about 2 : 1 in lateral root. The distribution of total saponin content shows 29.2% in main root, 34.6% in lateral root, 29.1% in fine root and 7% in rhizome, but the order of the content per unit weight was fine root > rhizome > lateral root > main root. Total saponin content according to age of root was increased gradually within 3% for 6 years, as compared with two year old root. In view of the increase of root weight owing to the net amount of saponin in root increased continuously. The increase rates of total saponins per year were 3.1,12.3,19.8,43.8 and 21.1% in 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 years-old ginseng root, respectively.
KSLV-I which is being developed in KARI is composed with two stages, and adaptor ring is used for coupling stage. Cables for interconnecting between stage is exposed on the outside. Also 8 pyro bolts which are installed in adaptor ring are used for separation of stage. In general, cowl is used for protecting exposed parts or structure which are anxious about damage from outer environment. In KSLV-I, two kind of cowls are designed. The one is umbilical cowl, and the other is pyro bolt cowl. Because cowl is exposed on the outside, heat and pressure load developed from air have effect on cowls. Therefore verification of structural strength through static analysis is required. In this study, static analysis in load condition except heat load is accomplished. In result of analysis, structural strength of pyro bolt cowl is verified. But breakage of umbilical cowl is confirmed in pressure load condition. So design of umbilical cowl is modified for satisfying required structural strength. And structural strength of umbilical cowl through analysis is verified.
This paper presents some of the results from an experimental research project on the behavior of extended end-plate connections subjected to moment conducted at the Structural Laboratory of Jordan University of Science and Technology. Since the connection behavior affects the structural frame response, it must be included in the global analysis and design. In this study, the behavior of six full-scale stiffened and unstiffened cantilever connections of HEA- and IPE-sections has been investigated. Eight high strength bolts were used to connect the extended end-plate to the column flange in each case. Strain gauges were installed inside each of the top six bolts in order to obtain experimentally the actual tension force induced within each bolt. Then the connection behavior is characterized by the tension force in the bolt, extended end-plate behavior, moment-rotation relation, and beam and column strains. Some or all of these characteristics are used by many Standards; therefore, it is essential to predict the global behavior of column-beam connections by their geometrical and mechanical properties. The experimental test results are compared with two theoretical (equal distribution and linear distribution) approaches in order to assess the capabilities and accuracy of the theoretical models. A simple model of the joint is established and the essential parameters to predict its strength and deformational behavior are determined. The equal distribution method reasonably determined the tension forces in the upper two bolts while the linear distribution method underestimated them. The deformation behavior of the tested connections was characterized by separation of the column-flange from the extended end-plate almost down to the level of the upper two bolts of the lower group and below this level the two parts remained in full contact. The neutral axis of the deformed joint is reasonably assumed to pass very close to the line joining the upper two bolts of the lower group. Smooth monotonic moment-rotation relations for the all tested frames were observed.

The effective construction for ready-made clothes is one of the central concerns of both consumers and manufactuers in today's apparel industry. In order to reduce the burden of stocks and increase clothing fitness, systematic information on typical body sizes and somatotypes is essential. The purpose of this study i-: to provide basic data on young women's somatotypes for form designers and pattern makers. The subjects of the survey were 310 women of 18 to 26 years old. The study collected 84 anthropometric data for each Person. The data was analyzed by using of the multivariate method. The factor analysis was utilized in regard to the 65 items obtained from anthropometric measurement respectively. The principal component analysis was applied to the data with orthogonal rotation after extraction. The factor scores used in the factor analysis became the basis of determining the value of each variable of the cluster analysis. The cluster analysis was applied for identifying typical somatotypes. Ward's minimum variance method was applied for the purpose of extracting distance metrix by the standardized Euclidean distance. The element forming each cluster can be subdivided into several sets by crosstabulation which is obtained by the fastclus of the SAS. This research has demonstrated 3 distinctive types of silhouette contour of the trunk. Incidentally it also identified 4 of the lower body from the waistline to thigh contour respectively. The discriminant analysis showed that the most significant discriminant factor of the trunk classification were side neck point -1 scapular -1 waistiline length and waist girth. In Korea, the average somatotype of female college students tends to be tall, slim and straight. Reviewing the relationship between the classifications of three parts of body, they are related to each other to some extent but their distribution are not constant. Therefore, in view of clothing construction, a proper separation of the body surface is a necessity.
