This paper a new approach to the design of machine vision technique with a camera modeling that accounts for major sources of geometric distortion, namely, radial, decentering, and thin prism distortion. Radial distortion causes an inward or outward displacement of a given image point from its ideal location. Actual optical systems are subject to various degrees of decentering , that is , the optical centers of lens design and manufacturing as well as camera assembly. It is our propose to develop the vision system for the pattern recognition and the automatic test of parts and to apply the line of manufacturing. The performance of proposed vision system is illustrated by simulation and experiment.
This paper describes the modeling of human memory using a nerve field model which is proposed for modeling the mechanism of brain mathematically. In our model, two phases of memory, retention and recollection, are focused on. The former consists of two stages, short-term memory (STM) and long-term memory (LTM). The proposed model consists of three parts, the STM Layer, LTM Layer and the Intermediate Layer between them. Each of these is constructed by a nerve field. In the STM Layer, memorized information is retained dynamically in the form of the reverberating states of units within the layer, while in the LTM Layer, it is stored statically in the form of structures of the weight on the links between units. the Intermediate Layer is introduced to translate this dynamic representation in the STM Layer to the LTNI Layer, and also to extract the static information from the STM Layer. In addition to this, we consider the recollection of information stored in the LTM. Finally, the behavior of this model is demonstrated by computer simulation.
In this paper, we present a framework for modeling and control of multiple mobile robots which cowork within a bounded workspace and limited resources. To achieve this goal, we adopt a formalism of discrete event system and supervisory control theory based on Petri nets. We can divide our whole story into two parts: first, we search the shortest path using the distance vector algorithm, and then we construct the control scheme from which a number of mobile robots can work within a bounded workspace without any collision. The use of Petri net modeling allows us In synthesize a controller which achieves a control specification for the desired closed-loop behavior efficiently. Finally, the usefulness of the proposed Petri net formalism is illustrated by a simulation study.
In this research. we developed Tire Roller Prototype which is operated hydraulic transmission system. For develop the theoretically computer aided system, we practiced the simulation of hydraulic system and dynamic modeling and will compare with the experiment results of Tire Roller Prototype. We conceptualize the new hydraulic system and derive the equations of motion for dynamic analysis. Finally, we will design the controller, which can manage the hydraulic circuit of servo mechanism system. We define new hydraulic system and integrate modeling of Tire Roller through simulation of h\ulcornerdraulic system and design of controller. From above procedure. Hydraulic transmission system characteristics and target performance can be investigated. To follow the required performance, we select the parts of Tire Roller. We manufactured the prototype of Tire Roller, and will install the equipment for experiment.

The purpose of this paper is to extract fast DEM (Digital Elevation Model) using satellite images. DEM extraction consists of three parts. First part is the modeling of satellite position and attitude, second part is the matching of two images to find corresponding poults of them and third part is to calculate the elevation of each point by using the result of the first and second part. The position and attitude modeling of satellite is processed by using GCPs. A area based matching method is used to find corresponding points between the stereo satellite images. In the DEM generation system, this procedure holds most of a processing time, therefore a new fast matching algorithm is proposed to reduce the time for matching. The elevation of each point is calculated using the exterior orientation obtained from modeling and disparity from matching. In this paper, the SPOT satellite images, level IA 6000 $\times$6000 panchromatic images are used to extract DEM. The experiment result shows the possibility of fast DEM. extraction with the satellite images.
The performance of the solenoid actuated hydrogen injector and the capacitive peak-hold type driving circuit was predicted through the modeling of the injector and the driving circuit the modeling was composed of the driving circuit, the solenoid, the moving parts of the injector, and the hydrogen injection system. The performance of the injector through the modeling was compared with the results of the solenoid and injector rig tests, and those were consistent with each other. Through the prediction of the injector performance, the effects of the components such as electrical resistor, capacitor, and injector spring are easily known to the injector performance required.
The objective of this paper is to present a methodology for design of the FMS by using a new modeling tool which is called SE&TPN(Safe Extended & Timed Petri Net). A FMS, which consists of various machine groups, may produce machine parts in different physical dimensions and lot size. The approach involves the SE&TPN modeling by Petri-nets. The proposed algorithm can handle determining of firing count vector by incidence matrix and adjustment of conflict using the marking of SE&TPN. The SE&TPN is defined as nets that can have at most one token in one place and can have elements such as permissive arcs and inhibitor arcs in addition to elements. The SE&TPN with permissive arcs and inhibitor arcs are intuitively direct approach to increase the modeling power of the SE&TPN. Finally, this paper is to develop a modulation to optimize the system problems of FMS using SE&TPN which describes exactly features of Petri Nets.
A procedure has been developed so that a die-face for stamping automobile outer panels can be design and modelled efficiently. The procedure is composed of four parts each of which corresponds to modeling major components of a die-face, i.e. tipped product, blankholder, draw beads, and step draw. The modeling techniques developed specifically for die-face design enable a designer to generate the shape of a die-face quickly with the minimum input, and the resulting models can be used in FEM analysis and NC tool path generation. This will lead to the reductions in lead time and manhours required for the design and manufacture of the stamping dies.
Nowadays a lot of high-tech electronic products such as TVs, monitors and camcorders are being developed. The more functions the electronic devices have, the more heat problems occur. Therefore, most of electronic products have air-ventilation holes to eliminate heat that is generated inside the products. The shapes of ventilation holes are usually complicated since aesthetic appearance of the products is important these days. In order to create those complicated shapes, designers should do time-consuming jobs because most of commercial CAD systems do not provide the functions that create patterns of lofted parts along freeform surfaces. In this research, an automated air-ventilation hole modeling system was proposed. The system generates patterns of lofted objects on freeform surfaces. Standard process to create air-ventilation holes manually was established, and vent-hole types and pattern types were classified into several categories. Designers can create many kinds of vent-holes by combining vent-hole types and pattern types. Users can also utilize user-defined pattern which can give users more flexibility. Developed system was applied to several design examples and the results are presented.
