철코팅 여재에서 박테리아의 부착 및 이동 (Adhesion and Transport of Bacteria in Iron-coated Media)

  • 본 연구에서는 양전하를 띤 여재 입자에서 박테리아의 부착 및 이동에 관한 연구를 위하여 회분 및 칼럼실험을 수행하였다. 본 실험에 사용된 박테리아는 E. coli ATCC 11105(길이: 2.2 ${\mu}m$ 직경: 0.6 ${\mu}m$)이었고, 여재는 석영모래(입경분포: 0.5-2.0 mm, 평균 입경: 1.0 mm)와 철코팅 모래이었다. 회분실험결과에 의하면 철코팅 함량이 증가함에 따라, 박테리아의 부착량이 증가하는 것으로 나타났다. 철코팅 모래의 함량 0%(석영모래 100%)에서는 약 46% 정도의 박테리아가 부착되었고, 철코팅 모래의 함량 100%(석영모래 0%)에서는 약 97% 정도의 박테리아가 부착되었다. 칼럼실험결과 또한 철코팅 함량이 증가함에 따라, 박테리아의 부착량이 증가하는 것을 보여주고 있다. 철코팅 모래의 함량이 0에서 100%로 증가함에 따라 박테리아의 부착량이 8에서 94%로 증가하였다. 본 연구의 실험결과를 통해 양전하를 띤 여재 입자가 박테리아의 이동에 영향을 미칠 수 있음을 알 수 있다.

LIGA 금형몰드를 이용한 Fe-Ni계 나노분말의 초미세 가스베어링 제조 (Manufacturing of Micro Gas Bearing by Fe-Ni Nanopowder and Metal Mold Using LIGA)

  • This paper describes the manufacturing process of tilting pad gas bearing with a diameter of 5 mm and a length of 0.5-1 mm for power MEMS (Micro Electomechanical Systems) applications. The bearing compacts with nanopowder feedstock were prepared by Ni-metal mold with 2-mold system using LIGA process. The effect of the manufacturing conditions on sintering properties of nanopowder gas bearing was investigated. In this work, Fe-45 wt%Ni nanopowder with an average diameter of 30-50 nm size was used as starting material. After mixing the nanopowder and the wax-based binders, the amount of powder was controlled to obtain the certain mixing ratio. The nanopowder bearing compacts were sintered with 1-2 hr holding time under hydrogen atmospheres and under temperatures of $600^{\circ}C$ to $1,000^{\circ}C$. Finally, the critical batch of mixed powder system was found to be 70% particle fraction in total volume. The maximum density of the sintered bearing specimen was about 94% of theoretical density.

발파공내 기폭위치가 지반진동에 미치는 영향 (Influence of Inner-hole Priming Location on Ground Vibration)

  • 기폭위치가 지반진동에 미치는 영향에 대한 연구들을 살펴보면 발파진동의 복합적인 원인에 반하여 단편적인 연구로 진행되거나 적용범위가 연구가 이루어진 해당 현장만으로 국한적으로 나타나며 발파설계 인자로서 이용되는 데 한계를 보였다. 이에 본 연구는 기폭위치에 따라 발파진동의 전파 특성을 파악하기 위해서 공간격, 저항선, 천공장 그리고 장약량 등을 달리하여 총 72회의 단일공 시험발파를 실시하여 발파진동 예측식을 도출하였다. 도출된 발파진동 예측식으로부터 기폭위치에 따른 최대입자속도의 노모그램 분석을 통해 진동특성을 규명하였다. 또한, 국토해양부의 "도로공사 노천발파 설계 시공 지침"에 제시된 표준발파공법의 공법별 경계 기준 장약량인 0.5, 1.6, 5, 15kg을 적용하여 기폭위치별 진동 감쇄경향을 비교 분석하여 발파설계의 인자로 사용할 수 있도록 제안하였다.

건축재료에서 발생되는 석면입자의 특성 연구 (The Characteristics of Dispersed Asbestos Fibers Produced From Building Materials)

  • This paper describes the results of a systematic study to determine the characteristics of particle generated from various types of asbestos containing material(ACM) and manmade fiber material(MMFM) during operations of cutting and grinding in laboratory and workplace. Tests were conducted with a specially designed glove box which allowed complete sampling of the generated asbestos fibers. Specificially, air measurements were made during ACM and MMFM installation in building. All personal air samples collected were identified by polarized light microscopy(PLM), X-ray diffraction(XRD) and scanning electron microscope with energy dispersive X-ray analysis(SEM/EDXA). Also, the samples were counted by phase contrast microscope(PCM) in order to compare the results with the permissible exposure standard for workplace. Results indicate that the characterisitcs of fibers found in the roofing sheet, the ceiling and the wall insulation boards were identical to those of asbestos, while the characteristics of fibers found in the ceiling insulation board, the floor tile and the sprayed on insulation products in parking area were identical to those of asbestos, while the characteristics of fibers found in the ceiling insulation board, the floor tile and the sprayed on insulation products in parking area were identical to those of rock wool. The concentrations of airborne fibers from various building materials cut by a grinder for 5 minutes were in the ranges of 0.09 $\sim$ 1.71 fibers/cc(f/cc). The highest concentration(1.71f/cc) was found during grinding the wall insulation board which also contains rock wool. The airborne fiber concentrations generated by installing at workplace were ranged from 0.0009 to 0.029 f/cc. All asbestos fibers from the ceiling insulation board at workplace were less than 20$\mu$m in length and more than 20% of them had the average aspect ratio greater than 20. Therefore, for the purpose of decreasing asbestos and man-made fiber concentrations at the workplace, the ceiling and wall board should use strong binding material to increase the binding force with fiber. Also, the permissible exposure standard for workplace(2.0f/cc) in Korea should be constituted below the maximum avaiable concentration measured at glove box.

Across-wind excitation mechanism for interference of twin tall buildings in tandem arrangement

  • Excitation mechanism of interference effect between two tall buildings is investigated with wind tunnel experiments. Synchronized building surface pressure and flow field measurements by particle image velocimetry (PIV) are conducted to explore the relationship between the disturbed wind flow field and the consequent wind load modification for twin buildings in tandem. This reveals evident excitation mechanisms for the fluctuating across-wind loads on the buildings. For small distance (X/D < 3) between two buildings, the disturbed flow pattern of impaired vortex shedding is observed and the fluctuating across-wind load on the downstream building decreases. For larger distance ($X/D{\geq}3$), strong correlation between the across-wind load of the downstream building and the oscillation of the wake of the upstream building is found. By further analysis with conditional sampling and phase-averaged techniques, the coherent flow structures in the building gap are clearly observed and the wake oscillation of the upstream building is confirmed to be the reason of the magnified across-wind force on the downstream building. For efficient PIV measurement, the experiments use a square-section high-rise building model with geometry scale smaller than the usual value. Interference factors for all three components of wind loads on the building models being surrounded by another identical building with various configurations are measured and compared with those from previous studies made at large geometry scale. The results support that for interference effect between buildings with sharp corners, the length scale effect plays a minor role provided that the minimum Reynolds number requirement is met.

수직벽 하부에 있는 틈새 후방의 유동특성에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study of Flow Characteristics Past vortical wall with Bottom Gap)

  • 표면에 부착된 수직벽 후방의 난류전단흐름을 입자영상유속계를 이용하여 조사하였다. 하부 틈새를 갖는 수직벽 후류영역에서는 박리 후 비정상적인(unsteady) 재순환 영역이 형성되었으며, 약 x=3H위치에서 전단층의 재부착 및 난류경계층으로의 재발달 과정이 나타났다. 수직벽 직전의 오목한(concave) 유선곡률과 수직벽 후방의 볼록한(convex)유선곡률의 영향은 수직벽 주위에서 가장 크게 나타나고, 하류로 나아감에 따라 전단층 주위 유체의 유입 등으로 그 영향이 박리 전단층 내에서 커다란 와구조가 연속적으로 발생하였다.

솔-젤법에 의해 제조된 실리콘 태양전지 전극형성용 나노 글래스 (Sol-gel Derived Nano-glass for Silicon Solar Cell Metallization)

  • We have investigated the seed layer formation of front side contact using the inkjet printing process. Conductive silver ink was printed on textured Si wafers with 80 nm thick $SiN_x$ anti reflection coating (ARC) layers and thickened by light induced plating (LIP). The inkjet printable sliver inks were specifically formulated for inkjet printing on these substrates. Also, a novel method to prepare nano-sized glass frits by the sol-gel process with particle sizes around 5 nm is presented. Furthermore, dispersion stability of the formulated ink was measured using a Turbiscan. By implementing these glass frits, it was found that a continuous and uniform seed layer with a line width of $40{\mu}m$ could be formed by a inkjet printing process. We also investigated the contact resistance between the front contact and emitter using the transfer length model (TLM). On an emitter with the sheet resistance of $60{\Omega}/sq$, a specific contact resistance (${\rho}_c$) below $10m{\Omega}{\cdot}cm^2$ could be achieved at a peak firing temperature around $700^{\circ}C$. In addition, the correlation between the contact resistance and interface microstructures were studied using scanning electron microscopy (SEM). We found that the added glass particles act as a very effective fire through agent, and Ag crystallites are formed along the interface glass layer.

단열식 회전연료 노즐의 오리피스 직경에 따른 분무특성 연구 (A Study of Spray Characteristic with Orifice Diameter for Single Column Rotating Fuel Nozzle)

  • 350Kw급 이하의 초소형 터보제트엔진에서 연료 미립화 특성을 만족하는 분사시스템을 개발하는 것은 매우 어려운 일이다. 그러나 회전 연료 분사시스템은 복잡한 고압연료펌프 시스템 없이도 엔진축의 원심력만을 이용함으로써 좋은 미립화를 할 수 있다. 이러한 이유로, 직경 40 mm의 매우 작은 회전식 연료 인젝터를 제작하였으며, 여러 가지 크기의 분사 오리피스에 대한 실험을 수행하였다. PDPA 측정 시스템을 사용하여 입자의 크기와 속도, 분무분포를 측정하였다. 실험 결과, 분사 오리피스로부터 분출된 단일 액주의 길이는 회전속도에 의해 제어되며, SMD는 회전수가 증가함에 따라 감소하고, 오리피스의 직경과 오리피스 내부에 생성되는 액막두께에 큰 영향을 받는다.

광폭면 분무를 위한 2유체 노즐의 분무 특성에 관한 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Spray Characteristics by Twin-Fluid Atomizer for Wide Band Spray)

  • To develop the twin-fluid atomizer having the excellent performance of painting, the spray characteristics of how a wide area can be painted efficiently by one time spraying were studied in this paper. Spray phenomena are affected by the many factors determining the spray field such as the spraying pressure of gas, the spraying pressure and viscosity of liquid paints, the opening duration of needle valve, the design dimension of nozzle, and so on. As the results of experiments, these factors affecting on spray characteristics were suggested as followings; 1) The optimum spraying pressure of gas was $0.015{\sim}0.02\;kPa$, and the appropriate spraying pressure of liquid paint was 0.01kPa, In these situations, the setting up pressures must be compensated as much as the losing amount of pressure because a decompression occurred when operating valves. 2) The duration of opening the needle valve must be sustained for $1{\sim}2$ seconds to inject gas after spraying the liquid paint. This operating of the needle valve was necessary to avoid the affect on the changing of liquid column length, and to prevent the droplet deposit at the initial time of spraying. 3) The spray tip penetration was gained form the experimental equation, and the effective spraying angle was $85^{\circ}{\pm}5^{\circ}$ just at he appropriate spraying pressure of gas. The distribution of the area sprayed had the variation in $350{\pm}50\;mm$ because of the spraying pressure of gas, the its distance from the spray tip, and the lift of the needle valve.

멸종위기어류 미호종개 Cobitis choii(Pisces: Cobitidae)의 서식지 특징과 연령추정 (Habitat Characteristics and Estimation of the Age of the Endangered Miho Spine Loach, Cobitis choii (Pisces: Cobitidae) in Ji Stream, Guem River, Korea)

  • 멸종위기어류인 미호종개 Cobitis choii의 서식지 특성과 연령 등의 생태적 특징을 밝혀 보전학적으로 활용하기 위하여 2011년 금강 지류인 지천에서 조사를 실시하였다. 미호종개의 서식지는 하류부의 모래톱이 형성된 지역으로, 모래 입자 크기는 대부분 0.21~1.18 mm (88.7%)로 작은 편이었다. 치어는 수심이 5~20 cm로 낮고 유속은 0~15 cm/sec로 느린 곳에 주로 서식하고 있었지만, 1년생과 2년생, 3년생 이상의 개체들은 공통적으로 수심 20~50 cm, 유속 10~25 cm/sec의 느린 여울부에 서식하고 있었다. 성장은 활동기인 4월부터 10월까지 급격한 성장을 보였으나 월동기인 11월부터 3월까지는 성장을 멈추었다. 연령(암컷)은 6월을 기준으로 만 1년생은 전장 40~61 mm, 만 2년생은 64~79 mm, 만 3년생은 80~91 mm, 만 4년생 이상은 92~106 mm로 추정되었다.
