  • This paper offer fundamental ones about insulation diagnosis with electromagnetic wave, when discharges occurred. To simulate Partial-Discharge(PD), It is used needle-plane electrode in air. As the voltages applied, measure the electromagnetic wave with monopole antenna and analysis its fundamental characteristics, then, acquired data were operated. The results presented as the form of graph, and the magnitude of charge when occurred PD simultaneously. In conclusion, when the magnitude of charge over 100[pC], the electric field strength changed, and then the magnitude of charge and the electric field strength increased samely.

  • The partial pischarge(PP) process in synthetic laminated paper insulation was studied at cryogenic condition using different types of the test samples(flat and tube type). The influence of semiconducting carbon paper was also evaluated by studying the electrical properties of superconducting cable.

  • In this paper, a novel Generator On-line Diagnosis System (GODS) is proposed. This system monitors the insulation condition of the stator winding by on-line measurements of partial discharge (PD). Sensor, such as SSC (Stator Slot Coupler) and RFCT (Radio Frequency Current Transformer) are used for PD measurement. PD signals are continuously measured and digitized with a high speed A/D converter to build the database of the generator's insulation condition. Also this system can communicate with the central monitoring system via RS-485. This helps more efficient operation and maintenance of the generator.

  • This paper describes the initial characteristics of turbine generators at the Taean thermal power plant #4 and Wolsong nuclear power plant #2. The turbine generators had been in service for two years. The insulation diagnostic tests included measurements of insulation resistance, polarization index, ac current, dissipation factor($tan{\delta}$) and partial discharges (PD). The values of ac current and tan a were measured by Schering bridge. PD measurements were conducted using digital PD detector. The variation of $tan{\delta}$ and PD was confirmed in two generator stator insulations.

  • All electric trains in the city should be run without any troubles of the equipments in order to offer good services to the passengers. But some breakdowns occur when they are operated due to the long time uses. There are mechanical troubles and electrical troubles included reactors. Most of them, the reason of the troubles can be found out easily after breakdown. But it is difficult to find out the reasons of the reactor troubles which disappear after operation. The reactors of the train filter the current which supplied from electrical lines and supply the current to the inverter and block the ripple of the current. Partial discharge occur from the reactor by the heat. accordingly, If the signals of discharge were perceived, it could be anticipate the deterioration degree of insulation. In this paper, on-monitoring system for reactor's troubles in trains is established and the output results of monitoring system are investigated.

  • Most Plastic Green Houses in Korea are made according the European weather condition, which lead to have very low solar energy efficiency. Moreover, the function of green houses, as well as the structure of them, has not changed for Korean weather condition. Therefore, the structure and function of them should adopt the regional weather condition in order to improve the energy efficiency. This paper investigates the current plastic green housesin Korea, and presents an alternative for improving the energy efficiency. The elements of green houses were investigated. When using a partial opaque insulation with a thermal storage body, the difference of indoor air temperature became 20C during daytime, and 5C during night, which will save massive fossil fuels.

  • This paper examines the insulation coordination scheme of line and equipment in distribution system when the direct lightning surge strikes. The BIL that is applied in distribution system is not properly considered the performance and operation of arresters. Because of that, the high BIL is being used at partial system. This paper variously analyse the lightning overvoltage of line and equipment with earth of overhead grounding wire and installation types of arrester. Form these result, authors examine the rationality of BIL.

$SF_6$ 가스 중의 삼중점 절연파괴 예측기술에 관한 연구 (Study on Insulation Prediction of Triple Junction in $SF_6$)

  • Triple junction which consists of three media(electrode, insulator, and gas) should be considered in designing of high voltage equipments due to the electric field enhancement. In this paper, positive lightning impulse breakdown voltage is predicted based on the streamer theory for simplified insulator models and 72.5kV spacer with varying the triple junction geometry and gas pressure, and the results are compared to the experimental results. The electric field coefficient concept is also applied in order to evaluate the partial discharge inception voltage and the surface flashover voltage from the streamer inception voltage. The application of this method using the constant electric field coefficient of 1.3 and 0.66 is possible for evaluating the triple-junction insulation of the simplified insulator and the 72.5kV spacer respectively. The error rate is under 10%.

  • In this paper, a novel monitoring system, data acquisition & diagnosis unit (DADU), for high-voltage rotating machines is proposed. This system monitors the insulation condition, current, voltage, vibration, and temperature of the stator winding by on-line measurements of partial discharge (PD), flux, etc. This helps more efficient operation and maintenance of the rotating machines.

  • This paper describes a study on gas dissolved distribution in oil for simulated transformer thermal faults. Experimental chamber was setup for simulation of transformer thermal faults or discharge in oil with or without insulation paper. The experimental results showed that dissolved gases in oil excluding the paper did not evolved upto $150^{\circ}C$. Hereafter the planned gas dissolved analysis will be continuously carried out for transformer fault conditions with or without insulation paper related to water absorption, arc and partial discharge.
