태양광시스템에서 바이패스 다이오드 배열의 영향도 분석 (Effects of Bypass Diode Array Configurations on Solar System)

  • The effect of bypass diodes on the output energy of solar cells was investigated under the condition of partial shading. The maximum power point was estimated using the perturbation & observation algorithm, taking into account the correlation effect between the arrangement and number of bypass diodes. The performance of the bypass diode was tested under the consideration of the partial shading effect and simulated using a Matlab/Simulink.

  • The performance of a photovoltaic array is affected by temperature, solar insolation, partial shading effect, and array configuration. Maximum power point tracking(MPPT) techniques are employed in photovoltaic systems to make full utilization of the PV array output power which depends on solar irradiation and ambient temperature. As much as MPPT is important in photovoltaic systems, many MPPT techniques have been developed. In this paper, several major existing MPPT methods are comparatively analyzed and novel hybrid MPPT algorithm is proposed. The proposed hybrid MPPT algorithm is developed in combination with traditional MPPT methods to complement each other for improving performance and mitigating partial shading effects. The proposed algorithm is implemented and validated using MATLAB/Simulink simulation tool.

  • This paper presents the impact of partial shading on $CuIn_xGa_{(1-x)}Se_2(CIGS)$ photovoltaic(PV) modules with bypass diodes. When the CIGS PV modules were partially shaded, the modules were under conditions of partial reverse bias. We investigated the characterization of the bypass diode and solar cell properties of the CIGS PV modules when these was partially shaded, comparing the results with those for a crystalline silicon module. In crystalline silicon modules, the bypass diode was operated at a partial shade modules of 1.67 % shading. This protected the crystalline silicon module from hot spot damage. In CIGS thin film modules, on the other hand, the bypass diode was not operated before 20 % shading. This caused damage because of hotspots, which occurred as wormlike defects in the CIGS thin film module. Moreover, the bypass diode adapted to the CIGS thin film module was operated fully at 60% shading, while the CIGS thin film module was not operated under these conditions. It is known that the bypass diode adapted to the CIGS thin film module operated more slowly than that of the crystalline silicon module; this bypass diode also failed to protect the module from damage. This was because of the reverse saturation current of the CIGS thin film, $1.99{\times}10^{-5}A/cm^2$, which was higher than that of crystalline silicon, $8.11{\times}10^{-7}A/cm^2$.

  • In this paper, two configurations of PV array are analyzed and tested under shading condition, where two configurations are series-parallel and total-crass-tied configuration. Each photovoltaic module is emulated by two 5 inch po1y-crystalline cells in series and an array is constructed by connecting 24 of the modules to compare a generated maximum power of the two configurations. Pspice and Sun simulator. PASAN IIIb, are used for simulation and experiment to test the array under various partial shading conditions. Test results show the total-cross-tied configuration generates 7.63% higher maximum power than the series-parallel configuration, and it is well matched to the analysis and simulations of the two configurations.

해상용 태양광 발전 시스템의 설치 각도에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Installation Angle of the Marine Solar Power Generation System)

  • 해상에서 운용되는 일점계류형 해양플랜트의 태양광 발전 시스템은 독립 전원 체계를 가지고 있으며, 해상 환경, 부조일수 등의 영향으로 안정적인 전력을 공급하는 것이 중요하다. 이러한 이유로 태양광 패널을 여러 방향으로 설치하게 되는데, 이 때 각 패널마다 입사되는 광량이 달라지므로 부분음영현상이 발생하게 된다. 육상용 태양광 발전시스템의 발전량은 위도의 영향을 받으므로 우리나라의 경우 $30{\sim}36^{\circ}$ 사이의 각도로 설치하는 것이 일반적이나, 일점계류형 해양플랜트에 설치되는 태양광 발전 시스템의 경우 부분 음영 현상에 의해 최대전력점이 제어 가능 범위 밖에 존재하는 경우가 발생하게 되고 이는 전력 발전 손실이 된다. 이 때 두 패널의 광량차이를 줄임으로써, 최대 전력점을 MPPT 알고리즘이 추종 가능한 범위에 존재하게 하여 발전 효율을 더 높일 수 있으며, 시뮬레이션 결과 설치각도 $20^{\circ}$에서 가장 높은 발전 효율 가짐을 확인하였다.

Effects of seed sources and shade on vigor of Brant's oak seedling

  • The use of local seed provenance is often recommended in forest restoration. Early vigor is a combination of the performance of seed germination and emergence after planting. The ability of young Brant's oak plants to grow and develop after emergence and its dependence on local habitat conditions was investigated in this study. The effects of seed source and shade on early growing seedlings of Brant's oak (Quercus brantii L.) were determined in field measurements. Seeds of Quercus brantii L. were collected from 4 forest areas (seed sources) in southern Zagros (Provinces of Kohkilouyeh-Bouyer Ahmad and Fars) at altitudes of 850, 1,100, 1,500, 2,100 m a.s.l., and planted in a nursery constructed in southwestern Iran. According to a split-plot design consisting of four blocks, each containing two main treatment plots (no shading, partial shading), each main plot was sub-divided into four sub-plots (for elevations of 850, 1,100, 1,500 and 2,100 m). Results showed that shade treatments had significant effects on emergence percentage and rate, shoot length, shoot dry weight (SDW), root dry weight (RDW), leaf area (LA), and chlorophyll content. Ecological factors also had an effect on seed performance. Altitude of seed source had a very significant effect on root length, LA, SDW, and RDW. The seeds collected from 850 m a.s.l. elevation showed the highest performance, especially in leaf area, root length, shoot dry weight, and root dry weight. Our results showed that the altitude of 850 m a.s.l. was the best for collecting Brant's oak seeds.

영농형 태양광 패널의 부분 차광 생육 환경이 작물 전자전달효율과 비광화학적 형광소멸에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Partial Shading by Agrivoltaic Systems Panel on Electron Transport Rate and Non-photochemical Quenching of Crop)

  • 영농형 태양광은 동일 토지면적에서 태양광 패널에 의한 발전과 작물 경작을 융합한 시스템이다. 광 에너지가 부족한 영농형 태양광 하부에서 작물의 수확량이 감소하는 것은 필연적이나, 이를 관장하는 패널 하부에서 생육한 작물의 광합성 반응에 대해서는 국내외적으로 거의 알려진 바가 없다. 본 연구는 고정형 영농형 태양광 시설 하부에서 재배된 작물 잎에 흡수된 광에너지가 광합성 반응 중심에 전달되고 열로 방출되는 효율을 엽록소 형광 관측을 통해 조사하였다. 패널 하부와 노지의 콩과 벼는 ETR에서 큰 차이가 없는 것으로 보아 광인산화 효율보다는 잎이 흡수한 광 에너지에 따라 CO2 고정량이 결정되는 것으로 보인다. 또한, 패널 하부의 콩과 벼는 노지보다 NPQ가 더 높은 것으로 보아 활성화된 광보호기작이 광인산화로의 에너지 분배에 부정적 역할을 할 수 있을 것으로 보인다. 향후 영농형 태양광에서의 작물 생산량과 광합성의 관계를 이해하기 위해 보다 다양한 기후 및 재배조건에서의 광합성 반응을 조사할 필요가 있겠다.
