  • This research focuses on analyzing the correlation between adolescent self-esteem and labor participation. The findings of this study are as follows: First, when it was analyzed whether there are differences in self-esteem with ages, out of school students were the lowest. and self-esteem level increased with age. Second, when the differences in self-esteem levels between genders were examined, male students showed slighty higher positive self-esteem and total self-esteem, which shows statistically significant difference. Third, the correlation between self-esteem and labor participation is as follows: 50.4% of students experienced part-time jobs in low self-esteem group. And 50.6% of students experienced part-time jobs in high self-esteem group. It shows that self-esteem level doesn't have relation to part-time job experience. Fourth, when the correlation between part-time job intention and self-esteem was analyzed, 50.5% of students in low self-esteem group responded they would have part-time job, but 49.5% of students in high self-esteem group. Also, 50.9% of low self-esteem group students responded they had no intention of getting part-time jobs, but 49.1% in high self-esteem group. It shows self-esteem level doesn't influence the decision to get part-time jobs. Last, the correlation between the reason they get part-time jobs and self-esteem level was analyzed. 68.1% of students in low self-esteem group had part-time jobs voluntarily, while 31.9% had to have jobs involuntarily for economic cause. Also 75.2% of students in high self-esteem group had part-time jobs for voluntary motive and 24.8% for economic cause. So high self-esteem group showed more voluntary cause and low involuntary cause for part-time jobs, but there was no statistically significant value.

  • The aim of this paper was to diagnose Korean college students' listening skills on the TOEFL. The researchers identified which section, among the TOEFL listening Part A, B, and C, is most easily teachable/ improvable during the period of a semester. First, the result of this research shows that Korean students tend to have lower scores in Part A than Part B or Part C. The results indicate that the short informal conversation doesn't give sufficient clues to students, and they don't have enough time to infer the answer. Second, the results revealed that. students showed the lowest progress in Part B after they studied TOEFL listening items and essential idioms for the listening section for 13 weeks. Because students didn't have much experience learning the informal conversation as opposed to the formal one in English, it is harder to achieve an improved grade in Part B, which consists of the informal conversation. But after a semester-long listening course, the average score on TOEFL listening sections increased.

  • The gas-assisted injection molding process is often perceived to be unpredictable, because of the extreme sensitivity of the gas. Since a slight change in design or process parameters can significantly change the resulting gas penetration, few designers and molders have the level of experience with the new gas-assisted injection molding process required for the development of new parts. This paper is concerned with the unified molding for a thick cosmetic chest by using gas-assisted injection molding. CAE analysis was carried out to design the part and the gas channel without inducing sink marks. And based on the part weight measurement, the processing parameters to control gas penetration percentage were chosen through the method of design of experiments. A thick cosmetic chest was successfully produced using the gas assist technology. The sink mark issue associated with the conventional injection molded parts was resolved. Weight savings and cycle-time reduction were also achieved.

  • Rapid Prototyping has made a drastic change in all industries which needs to reduce the time for the development of new products. Orientation and packing in rapid prototyping is considered as the most important factors to maximize the utilization of space in the build chamber and reduce build time. However, the decision of these parameter is mainly dependant on the operators's experience. This paper presents the methodology to find the optimal build layout considering an orientation and packing of multiple parts in SLS processing. Each part is represented as a voxel structure to deal with the inefficiency in a bounding box approach. Test results show that the adapted BL algorithm with a genetic algorithm(GA) can be applicable to a real industry.

  • Various methods for creating interesting games are used in the development process. Because the empirical part is difficult to measure and analyze, it usually only measures and analyzes the parts where data are easy to quantify. This is a clear limit to the fact that the experience of the game is important. This study proposes a system that recognizes the face of a game user and measures the emotion change from the recognized information in order to easily quantify the experience of the user who is playing the game. The system recognizes emotions and records them in real time from the face of the user who is playing the game. These recorded data include time and figures related to the progress of the game, and numerical values for emotions recognized from the face. Using the recorded data, it is possible to judge what kind of emotion the game induces to the user at a certain point in time. Numerical data on the recorded empirical part using the system of this study is expected to help develop the game according to the developer 's intention.

  • Most of Static electricity forms part of our daily experience broadly. Most people have noticed from time to time electric shocks when closing of their car or after walking across a carpet, operating shredder in winter and touching a metal handle. This electrostatic discharge nuisance is normally a minor inconvenience, but in some cases static electricity can cause more serious problems. Static electricity can also be harnessed to good effect in Position Control System.
