Many industrial products can be assembled in various sequences of assembly operations. To save time and cost in assembly process and to increase the quality of products, it is very important to choose an optimal assembly sequence. In this paper, we propose a methodology that generates an optimal assembly sequence by using the knowledge of experts. First, a product is divided into several sub-assemblies. Next, the disassembly sequences of sub-assembly are generated using disassembly rules and special information can be extracted through the disassembly process. By combining every assembly sequence of sub-assemblies, we can generate all the possible assembly sequences of a product. Finally, the expert system evaluates all the possible assembly sequences and finds an optimal assembly sequence. It can be achieved under consideration of the parameters such as assembly operation, tool change, safety of part. basepart location, setup change, distance, and orientation. The developed system is applied to UBR(Unit Bath Room) example.
The present work focuses on the prediction of birefringence in injection-molded part and its improvement by rapid mold heating. To calculate birefringence, flow-induced residual stress is computed through a fully three-dimensional injection molding analysis. Then the stress-optical law is applied from which the order of birefringence can be evaluated and visualized. The birefringence patterns are predicted for a rectangular plate with a variation of mold temperature, which shows that the amount of molecular orientation and birefringence level decreases with an increase of mold temperature. The effect of mold temperature on the order of birefringence is also studied for a thin-walled rectangular strip, and the relevant results are compared with experimental measurements. Both predicted and experimental patterns of birefringence are in agreements on the observation that the birefringence level diminishes significantly when the mold temperature is raised over the glass transition temperature.
With the view of studying on the dual adsorption mechanism of acid dyes in connection with the structural difference of silk fibroin, silk fiber and silk fibroin memberane were used for equilibrium dyeing at $60^{\circ}C$, $70^{\circ}C$, $80^{\circ}C$ and pH 3.2, pH 5.0. The dyes used were C.I.Acid Orange 7 and C.I.Acid Red 88 introduced aromatic hydrocabon into Acid Orange 7. From the adsorption isotherm experiment, the total uptake of dyes can be described by Langmuir sorption and Nernst partition. Nernst partition. Nernst partition coefficient $K_1$ decrease of crystalline regions and orientation. The saturation value S of Acid Red 88 were large than total amino group contents and it was attributed it hydrophobic bond. On the other hand, the standard afficity and enthalpy were increased with the in crease of hydrophobic part of dyes. Both $k_1$ and $K_2$ were decreased with the increase of pH, but $k_2$ were more effected than $K_1$.
Development of a three-dimensional mine visualization model for a section of the mine is addressed first. Discontinuity orientation and location information was taken from this visualization model for use in slope stability analyses. Estimated shear strength properties of discontinuities and mechanical properties of intact rock from the rock mass samples obtained from the mine are discussed next. The third part of the paper is focused on the results obtained for maximum safe slope angles for the section considered of the mine based on block theory analysis conducted under only the gravitational forces using the mapped discontinuities at the mine. Finally, the effects of water that exist in the rock mass, a tension crack, slope face inclination, overall wedge height and double benching on factor of safety of wedge stability are illustrated through limit equilibrium slope stability analyses conducted on a single tetrahedral wedge belonging to potential key block category that exist in the investigated area of the mine.
We synthesized amphiphilic material including dye skeleton, p-phenylenediamine(PD) by attaching norma-decyl group of two strands at a part of coordinating atom, for obtaining reasonable design of LB uniform films. The synthesis of this compounds was quantitatively carried out under ultra pure state. This product was identified with FT-lR spectroscopy, UV absortion spectroscopy, and $^1$H-NMR spectroscopy, respectively. When manufacturing monolayer, we confirmed molecular area from pressure-area($\pi$-A) cutie of thiscompound onto the surface of the water. The spectroscopic approach also has done by UV absortion spectroscopy. It was shown that PD-complex LBfilms were deposited well with monolayer thickness. The conductivity based on I-V characteristics of PD-complex LB films were in the range of 10$^{-10}$ S/cm at room temperture. The microscopic properties by AFM, showed the good orientation of various monolayer or multilayer molecules
The classification and recognition of two-dimensional trademark patterns independently of their position, orientation, size and scale by proposing two feature vectors has been discussed. The paper presents experimentation on two feature vectors showing size- invariance and scale-invariance respectively. Both feature vectors are equally invariant to rotation as well. The feature extraction is based on local as well as global statistics of the image. These feature vectors have appealing mathematical simplicity and are versatile. The results so far have shown the best performance of the developed system based on these unique sets of feature. The goal has been achieved by segmenting the image using connected-component (nearest neighbours) algorithm. Second part of this work considers the possibility of using back propagation neural networks (BPN) for the learning and matching tasks, by simply feeding the feature vectosr. The effectiveness of the proposed feature vectors is tested with various trademarks, not used in learning phase.
Rapid Prototyping (RP) technology has been advanced to fabricate initial prototypes from various materials. Stratasys′ Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) is one of the typical RP processes that provide functional prototypes of ABS plastic. In order to predict the behavior of final ABS parts, it is critical to understand the material properties of the raw FDM process material, and the effect that FDM build parameters have on the FDM part. In this paper, we seek to characterize the properties of ABS parts fabricated by the FDM 1650. Using the Design of Experiment (DOE) approach, the process parameters of FDM, such as raster orientation, air gap, bead width, color, and model temperature were examined. Tensile strengths of crisscross specimens, 〔45°/-45°〕, cross specimens, 〔0°/90°〕, and directionally fabricated tensile specimens (〔0°〕 and 〔90°〕) were measured and compared with the injection molded FDM-ABS P400 material. For the FDM parts made with a -0.003"air gap, the typical tensile strength ranged between 50 percent and 83 percent of the strength of injection molded ABS P400. From the experiments, a couple of build rules for designing FDM parts were obtained.
Within the framework of anisotropic combined viscoplastic hardening formulation, accounting macroscopically for residual stress as well as texture development at finite deformations of metals, simple shear analyses for the simulation of fixed-end torsion experiments for ${\alpha}$-Fe, Al and Cu at different strain rates are reviewed with an emphasis on the role of constitutive spins. Complicated responses of the axial stresses with monotonically increasing shear deformations can be successfully described by the capacity of orthotropic hardening part, featuring tensile axial stresses either smooth or oscillatory. Temperature effect on the responses of axial stresses for Cu is investigated in relation to the distortion and orientation of yield surface. The flexibility of this combined hardening model in the simulation of finite inelastic strains is discussed with reference to the variations of constitutive spins depending upon strain rates and temperatures.

In and around the Korean Peninsula 22 intraplate earthquake mechanisms since 1936 were analyzed to understand the regional stress orientation and tectonics. These 22 earthquakes are largest ones in this century and may represent the characteristics of earthquake in the region. Focal mechanism of earthquakes in the region show predominant strike-slip faulting with small amount of thrust components. The average P-axis is almost horizontal ENE- WSW. Studied data are compared with neighboring intraplate region in order to understand the tectonic regime in far est Asia. In northeastern China strike-slip faulting is dominant and nearly horizontal average P-axis in ENE- WSW is very similar with the Korean Peninsula. On the other hand in the eastern part of East Sea thrust faulting is dominant and average P-axis is horizontal with ESE- WSW This indicate that not only the subducting Pacific Plate in east but also the indenting Indian Plate controls earthquake mechanism in the far east of the Eurasian Plate.
Natural convection in the annulus between concentric inclined cylinders has been studied by the numerical analysis. Governing equations are numerically solved by means of successive over-relaxation methods for a range in orientation from horizontal to vertical. It is found that flow patterns can also be observed the co-axial double spiral. As the angle of inclination is increased, the center of the eddy is shifted into the lower part of annulus and flow structure is apparently changed. In the present study, the maximum local Nusselt numbers for the inner and outer walls at the vertical cylinder increase more than those at the horizontal cylinder by 71%, 42% respectively. Consequently the effect of inclination on the heat transfer is considerably large.
